wow so at 66 your have most definantely definately ovulated

Is it true that more likely to have multiple pregnancy? Wouldnt mind twins myself

Natty1806 · 10/10/2006 10:39

Been told there is an 8% chance when taking clomid which is not that high really. x

ccpink · 10/10/2006 10:53

Hi
I'm back already. Went quite well. Has given me two months Clomid and then have to go back to check dosage. Wants loads of bloods on day 21 and wants dh to have sperm test. I wasn't expecting an examination and then thought he meant just feel my stomach, not an internal. I made my dh laugh when I asked if I should take my knickers off?! Not very classy. Anyway he rummaged around and said he was 'relieved'?! Everything looked good. My cervix I'm guessing.
I told him I had been temping and he seemed quite impressed that I knew a little bit and had all my dates. I am just hoping my af comes on time now so I can start taking them
awen - risks are twins and cysts. They told me 10% twin chance but that could just get it all over in one swoop. Cysts don't sound so good but they seem pretty chilled about it.

MamaMaiasaura · 10/10/2006 11:59

ccpink - glad all went well at dr's. x

Artoo · 10/10/2006 13:31

I was told with day 21 progesterone that you're looking for a result of 30 or more, so 66 is great. I don't think there's any link between higher progesterone and multiple births, so no need to worry there

Research shows that if clomid is going to work for someone, it will work in the first 6 cycles, so Naty I'm pleased to see your consultant is already getting the next stage planning in place sensibly.

ccpink - I had an internal at my first consultation as well, which threw me a bit! I'm quite an old hand at them now though - well don't for coping. Good that they're testing your DH as well, always good to know how he's doing as well, as it takes two to tango! Will they scan you during your clomid cycle, or just use the blood tests to check everything is OK.

Peanut - should have answered you earlier, it is quite normal to get a +ve OPK on multiple days. The day you count is the first day you see the +ve result.

I'm hoping my ICSI will start early in the new year - waiting for the nurse to call me back at the moment for more information.

Hugs,
Artoo.

ccpink · 10/10/2006 14:06

Hi Artoo - I thought I coped well although dh thought it was hilarious the look on my face They are just doing blood test on first month. No mention of any scans - I wondered if maybe I am on a low dosage so don't?! Maybe someone else knows? Also does anyone know whether it is still worth me temping with Clomid or does it all go Pete Tong as I've heard people mention hot flushes!!??

Natty1806 · 10/10/2006 14:17

CCpink - i temp and i have hot flushes but the chart looked really good this month have a look on the TCOYF spotters thread for a look if you want.

Artoo - are you looking forward to the new year? You and coggy will be starting new procedures in the new year and wish you both all the best.

Yeah i think it is a good thing that they tell you when next to book in etc at my clinic so i have things to look forward to and like a mini plan of action.

coggy · 10/10/2006 22:46

Natty....go for your perscription about half way through this cycle....sounds a bit defeatest but clomid is not a drug regularly carried by my chemist so it always takes a few extra days to get it....then if AF's early etc. etc.

An internal ......never had one of those...had an internal scan for hcg jab but never for anything else.
My DH would have had to leave the room!!!!

Natty1806 · 11/10/2006 10:34

Thanks coggy will make an appointment around CD14.

thanks

ccpink · 11/10/2006 17:35

I was shocked too Coggy. Does anyone know what he would mean when he rummaged and said he was 'relieved'?! Suppose I should have asked but just scrabbling to get my knickers back on and then he zoomed off!!
Typical men!!

coggy · 11/10/2006 17:49

LOL cc.............don't like the sound of the 'rummaging'!!!!!

Visions of James Herriot and an overdue cow spring to mind!!!!!!

...........not sure where that came from!!!!

ccpink · 11/10/2006 18:40

Tbh coggy that is exactly how it was! So long as he was happy though then I am. Especially as has given me some magic pills!!!

Natty1806 · 11/10/2006 19:42

I did have an internal with a gp before i went to the fertlity clinic but alls they did was put that horrid metal thing in they use for smears and just had a look up there, not sure what they were looking for, but said it all looked okay, tbh i was expecting a hand up there and then pushing on my pelvic area to feel for something but no just a look.

Not sure why he said he was relieved maybe he was getting his words mixed up and meant to say everything is fine.

Natty1806 · 11/10/2006 19:43

Oh yeah we love the magic beans

When do you get to start yours?

I nearly forgot to take mine today which would have screwed me up for the month. LOL

HopefulDreams · 11/10/2006 21:58

I've not been on for a few days and was surprised how busy you have all been emailing.... it took me ages to catch up!

I'm currently on the long 2 week wait roll on next week.

coggy · 11/10/2006 22:00

Yes....hurrah for the magic pills!!

And so say all of us!!!

I forgot to take mine a couple of months ago....d'you remember?
I was not happy!!!!!

MamaMaiasaura · 11/10/2006 22:04

got appt tomorrow with gp. IS he likely to do an internal? Pondering if I should tidy the lady garden. I did the bikini bit with new venus razor and it has left an embarassing rash .. argghhh and those metal things are horrid and painful and I bet designed by a man

coggy · 11/10/2006 22:08

Well awen....I've never had one...so I don't know.
Natty and ccPink have tho....so...be prepared I say!

My gp is also a very good friend so maybe he feels obliged not to!!!!!!

OP posts:
ccpink · 11/10/2006 22:08

MamaMaiasaura · 11/10/2006 23:02

Natty1806 · 12/10/2006 07:43

Yeah i remembered coggy - that's what i thought to myself i was laughing when you did it thinking how could you forget the magic but that's what i nearly did. LOL

MamaMaiasaura · 13/10/2006 09:42

OK, I went to the GP. He has px me metformin to help control some of the symptons of PCOS, altho this does not help ovulation. He has also referred me and dp to 2 fertility clinics, having trouble deciding which to go for. One has a wait of 50 days and the other 60 days, so both pretty fast. He reckons they will px clomid straight off due to my hx of PCO and v irregular cycles.

He didnt examine me downstairs (thank god), altho I had tends the garden I had a bit to much acutally cuaght myself a bit .. never told dp i used his beard trimmer..

Natty1806 · 13/10/2006 10:53

LOL at the beard trimmer.

Glad it went well, 50 and 60 day waits are good mine was about 4 months but once you in the door they are really good.

x

coggy · 13/10/2006 11:11

LOL at your needless trimming too awen!!!!

Glad your appointment went well and that things are moving quickly for you.
