I have a cunning plan for those days where you just feel fat and fed up.......

Wait until you really need to wee and then weigh yourself....go to the loo and weigh yourself again!!!!!

I lost 2pounds!!!!!!

Now I know that doesn't count but it sure makes you feel good (for a while!!)

andi0411 · 08/08/2006 09:42

Hi ladies - can I join too? i need to lose a few pounds- well more than a few. used to be a size 10- now a size 14....aaaarrrggghhh. Would like to lose 2 stone by Xmas- aiming for 2 pounds per week- might help the old fertility thing- y'nver know.

Loked the wee idea Coggy Lol- I will def try that!!!

coggy · 08/08/2006 10:40

That's the plan Andi!!
Welcome....are you doing any particular diet plan or just being good?!

Angsthase · 08/08/2006 11:56

LOL Coggy, just imagine how much you'd loose after a no.2!!

First night of no alc, no probs - but ate a scone as consolation . Oh dear...

Angsthase · 08/08/2006 11:57

Sorry that was rather gross of me

MrsMcJnr · 08/08/2006 12:08

Oh Coggy PMSL - I do remember when I went to Scottish Slimmers last time round that I wouldn't drink anything after 3pm for my 6pm weigh in and you should have seen the queue for the loo just before weigh in!

coggy · 08/08/2006 12:31

I wouldn't worry about being Angsthase...my DH says far worse!!

I once got slimmer of the week for losing 2 pounds and he say that he could s**t that in one go!!!!

He is (despite what that sounds like) VERY encouraging!!!

I always go to the loo before class too MrsMc...every little helps!!!!!

andi0411 · 08/08/2006 13:26

Hi Coggy - not doing anything in particular just counting calories. I had done w watchers a few years ago and seem to have the points system imprinted on my brain- but it's just calories made easy really. Trying for 1000-1200 cals per day...I'm starving already and it's only been 3 days!!!

andi0411 · 08/08/2006 13:29

ps...when i said b4 that i used to be a size 10 and am now a size 14 i didn't mean to imply that size 14 was gross or anything it's just that i am petite and small boned and all the weight- well booze really -lol- has gone on my guts and hips making me look pregnant...how ironic!!!!!

Nicola63 · 08/08/2006 13:35

andi, I was also size 10 and have become a 14, which is not right for me as I am generally petite, and shortish, but with extra padding round the middle now! Not a good look! I was a 10 when I was in a miserable time of my life (going through divorce and a horrible love affair), and don't need to get that small again. Just a nice healthy size 12 would be right for me.

andi0411 · 08/08/2006 13:56

Hi Nicola i have to agree with you- i too was a skinny 10 at a very bad time in my life- relationship breakdown, family nightmares etc..and i didn't eat properly and pobably partied too hard. i started to put the weight on when i met dp about 4 years ago and the weight crept up to a nice curvy 12 and then a bit of a podgy(for my bone size and height-5 ft 2") size 14. i too would be happy with a 12- least then I'll still have soom boobs etc!!

coggy · 08/08/2006 14:03

Don't worry Andi..I don't suppose anyone on this thread would be the slightest bit offended...we are all very nice!!

Glad to hear that you and Nicola have both put weight on cos you're happy.....much better being a bit overweight and happy rather than skinny and sad.

Weight's easy(ish) to lose...happiness isn't always easy to find......

(As I poetically wander off into the distance........)

andi0411 · 08/08/2006 14:16

Coggy you're so right. i was thin and miserable. Now I'm plump and fairly happy, but yes to shift a bit of the midrift would be good.Don't want to be fat and pg- should i ever get there!!
I saw b4 that you mentioned s'thing about too little calories when ttc...do you think 1200 p/day is ok?
x

coggy · 08/08/2006 14:20

That's what I've been working on.
I went to Rosemary Conley last year, I was 11 stone 13 (a few weeks after having my ds...am now a similar weight with NO excuse!!! )...anyway...she said for my weight I should aim for 1400cals a day.

This goes down slightly as you weigh less...I am on a 'kick-start' two weeks of 1200cals per day and I have my first week's weigh-in tomorrow...so here's hoping!!!

Angsthase · 08/08/2006 14:26

I read something in a veggie cookbook about how much you're supposed to eat while pg, but I'll check if there's s'thg about TTC and let you know. I think 1200 sounds ok, esp if it's lots of veg and fruit.

Any expert advise lurking?

Size 12, now that's a good ambition. Currently an expanding 14 myself (sometimes 16 in H&M - but I think their clothes come out small) [deluding herself emoticon]

coggy · 08/08/2006 14:27

Talk about deluding.....whenever I try any trousers on I always take in a size 12 as well as a size 14!!!!

Why would I do that (and why do I keep on doing that)??!!!
I haven't been a size 12 for years!!!!!!!!!!!!!

MrsMcJnr · 08/08/2006 14:32

I agree with what you are all saying, when I met DH I had just gone through an awful break up and was my lightest ever (well not ever, ever but in my adult life!). Over the last 5 yars I have piled on over 2 stone because I am happy (as has DH) but he still sees me becoming that slim thing again whereas really, I have always been more on the curvy side.

Might be talking total nonsense but doesn't what you and DH eat have an impact on the sex of your baby? I heard it was lots of meat for a man for boys and lots of veg for us. I would just like one of either sex myself!

Angsthase · 08/08/2006 14:32

Great shop for deluding yourself is Wallis - I've fitted in their size 12's for years as they come out really big

I know it's mad - we squeeze ourselves into a size that makes us look worse than the next size up for a label only we will ever see!! MADNESS

Angsthase · 08/08/2006 14:36

sorry Mrs MJ cross posted. Know what you mean about the happy-weigh-creeping thing.

My DH is getting really cuddly. Bless him - and I'm not far behind. When I came back from a year in S.America 6 years ago I was soooo trim. Thinest I've been since I was 17, but contented coach potatoing since then has led to all round sagginess!

coggy · 08/08/2006 14:36

LOL Angsthase...we all do it though don't we??!!

andi0411 · 08/08/2006 15:00

Ah fingers crossed honey- I started this diet on Sunday- today is day 3 of the 1200 cals per day. I must admit i am starving and it's because i just haven't bothered counting anything over the last 2 yrs basically eating whatever i wanted to!! I have found upping the intake of water does couteract hunger a tad but then ther's all the peeing....who'd be a woman i ask you!!

andi0411 · 08/08/2006 15:02

Sorry x posted with everyone- ths was in reply to Coggys comment!!!

coggy · 08/08/2006 15:03

This R Conley diet is based on low Gi so you are not supposed to be hungry........not working yet!!!!!

I have drunk and drunk and drunk!!!!!!

andi0411 · 08/08/2006 15:05

Me again..I have to agree H and M is very small. no ,no it really is- it's because the clothes are such a good price they use less fabric. Thats my opinion and I'm sticking to it.[wink}

My dp is tall and slim, but even he's got a bit of a tummy...it's all those cosy night in etc

coggy · 09/08/2006 09:09

Off in a mo for my first official weigh-in.......oooooh I feel scared!!!!!!!
