Can I just ask a (probably silly) question? Is the reason for the attempted weight loss to aid you all in TTC? What will happen when you get a BFP? Will you just keep up any new exercise regime for general fitness, etc?

Natty1806 · 04/09/2006 12:37

to be honest i don't have loads to lose for ttc reasons as my bmi is fine i am losing weight to look better and as for the fitness programme that is to help me lose a few pounds but mainly to get fitter so maybe being heavly pregnant might be easier on the body, if and when i get my bfp i am going to try and stick to the gym for health reasons.

MrsMcJnr · 04/09/2006 14:01

Not a silly question at all! My weight shouldn't prevent me getting pregnant as my BMI is fine too but I'd like to be slimmer/healthier/fitter before getting pregnant for the same reasons as Natty and also to make it easier to lose the baby weight afterwards. I am on Scottish Slimmers and know that they have pregnant ladies on it, the allowances are just higher, more calcium etc.

coggy · 04/09/2006 16:45

I want to lose weight and tone up (although not doing a very good job recently of it) because I want to look better so I get more BDing!!!!

I figured the better I look...the more bonking'll happen...and so, yes, it WILL help ttc!!!

Haven't quite done enough to see much difference yet though!!!!

So.....welcome.

feedmenow · 04/09/2006 17:10

Thanks all! Seeing as I don't actually have a set of scales in the house I think I'll pop out tomorrow and get some and make Tuesdays my Weigh Day.
I recently requested a copy of my maternity/labour notes (from my DS, now nearly 5!) and found my pre-pregnancy weight in there. It was a good 1.5 stone less than I am now!! I couldn't believe it! I never even noticed it all creeping on

coggy · 04/09/2006 17:26

Feedmenow....Booboo - who used to be on this thread before she got her BFP - used to go down to her local Boots each week and weigh on their scales rather than at home.

MrsMcJnr · 05/09/2006 09:26

oh, Coggy, you made me laugh , that is of course another really good reason to lose weight for me!! Have your visitors gone now and are you back on track? I know I sound like a broken record but I am not expecting a loss this week. Next week however, I am going to be an angel and the pounds are just going to fly off!

coggy · 06/09/2006 09:14

I am also going to be an angel this coming week MrsMc. So tell me your today weight after class (and I will you) and we can be angelic and skinny together this week!!!

How about that for a bit of competitive spirit to begin Septemeber with!!!!!

My eight day super-sonic-kick-start diet lasted.......hmmmmmm........2 days!!!!!!

Looked at the calender and realised that I couldn't go to today's class as DH was working a mega-shift (only one car).
So of course I used the excuse to eat that extra chocolate, fish and chips, wine, chicken burger etc. etc.

Last night.....my darling and oh so thoughtful DH told me that he was going to cycle to work especially so I could go to my class!!!!!!

Oh bugger!!!!!
I am in trouble!!!!!!!!

Got to go in half an hour and I AM SCARED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Angsthase · 06/09/2006 11:48

Hi all,

My new regime officially starts tomorrow when DH is going off to work for 2 weeks. During these 2 weeeks I will:

  1. Eat more healthily
  2. Exercise 3 times a week
  3. Stop drinking. As this coincides with my 2WW, I have good excuse for at least 2 dry weekends!! LOL

Coggy - how was the weigh-in?

Confession time: Mondays weigh-in was 71.1Kg - Bugger, bugger, bugger

coggy · 06/09/2006 13:06

La, la, la,.....I am a superstar....a superstar....a superstar...la, la.......

C'mon...join in with the singing........

I have lost another 4 pounds.....HURRAH!!!

BUT.......after excitedly gripping my little certificate somebody told me that she had changed the scales and the new ones made you weigh less!!!

I only hope she keeps them and doesn't swap them back again!!!!

I am now (on the new, lovely weigh-less scales) 11 stone 2.
I have been told to lose another half a stone in the next eight weeks......hmmmmmmmmm.

Angsthase · 06/09/2006 14:05

Well done you Coggy, I think 71.1Kg is about 11St 2, which means I'm passing you in the wrong direction LOL!
BTW, Angsthase is german for scared rabbit, so feel free to write that instead. If my EWCM stays like this next month I may just changee to Juicylucy - but they may kick me off as its sounds like a tag line for a porn site!

Natty - well done you for the 4%, sounds well impressive to me.

I will start running, I will start running (even if it's only for buses!!!)

coggy · 06/09/2006 14:29

LOL at you being mistaken for a porn site!!!!!

I am rubbish at converting from one to another - kgs to pounds etc.
I have a funny feeling that I may go up next week because I have been SO bad this week and sometimes it takes a week to show.

I think Natty's 4% is really impressive too cos it hasn't been very long has it?

Natty1806 · 06/09/2006 15:51

thanks girls my body fat is now 23% so it won't go down much more i imagine.

Have agreed with my friend and gym manager that we will lose a pound a week until her birthday 12 weeks away not sure i will manage it but am hoping for at least 6 pounds.

Well done girls, even if weight is going up slighlty we still have a few more weeks till the end of the month so lets all be good. ( says she miss goddess who had a mcflurry for lunch )

OP posts:
Angsthase · 06/09/2006 16:10

6 pounds would be sooo cooool. Hell at the rate I'm going 2lbs in the right direction would be great!!

Your porn goddess

MrsMcJnr · 07/09/2006 10:20

Sorry Coggy - no internet yesterday. I reluctantly went to my weigh in last night and stayed the same but I really must get back on track. At 5ft6 and 11.8 I am far too heavy for my frame. This week I shall be an angel and skip to my class - you're on for that challenge!

Angsthase - love JuicyLucy - superb!!

Angsthase · 07/09/2006 10:47

MrsMJ, well at least you didn't gain...unlike me!!

Have a new sense of purpose today, as start of 2WW and DH away. Am determined to create an alcohol free zone around myself, eat healthily and exercise every other day (including w/e's!!).

New mantra: My body is a temple (seriously in need of restoration)

Natty1806 · 08/09/2006 09:08

Morning All

Lost a pound. Yeah !!!

Mrs - looked at your wedding photo's yesterday you are beautiful and not really sure you should be on here?

Quick question not diet related but sure you lot can answer it, if i am planning to do the whole grapefruit juice, cough med and EPO this month do i start it on CD1 or when AF finishes?

thanks x

OP posts:
Natty1806 · 08/09/2006 09:11

come on girls i feel really determined at the moment to lose this extra bulge before we all skip into warm jumpers for the winter and hid it away.

so i think if we have had a bad day or you are about to reach for the biscuit tin and it is not in your daily allowance you must log on and confess so we can give you support and slowly get the hand out of the tin.

So no more sitting on her typing away with coffee in one hand and donught in the other - like i would ever have done that

LOL

OP posts:
coggy · 08/09/2006 09:17

LOL!!!!

I suppose if you type with two hands it's a way of distracting your fingers so they can't have any food in them!!!

I am liking your plan.

I think I have just lost several pounds by going to the loo!!!!
All that talk about IUI on the other thread made me nervous!!!!!!

SORRY TMI I KNOW!!!!!!!!!

Angsthase · 08/09/2006 09:19

This is what I gathered from other threads:

EPO CD1 to time of OV
Grapefruit juice and Cough Med during OV.

BTW, Sainsburys so an own brand cough brand where the only active ingredient is Guafanesin (or however you spell it).

Been very good since yesterday am. WW meal for lunch, salad for dinner, 30min run and no alcohol. 1 day down, 13 to go LOL!

Hey girls, I am trying to think of excuses already for the Weds weigh in . Coggy - I forgot the challenge through the wine haze!

We had 35 adults and 14 children round for a party on Sat (it was a belated wedding celebration for those who could not make it to our wedding). Most of the children were under 3, some totally adorable others not so but really had pangs for my own all the same.

I think I had a month's supply of calories in alcohol over the weekend. When AF arrived, I saw red and decided to hit the bottle and have a blow out. Not big nor clever and I plan to live quietly for a while now, maybe the alcohol or my weight are reasons why I haven't managed to get pregnant yet. How are you all today?

Thank you for your sweet comment Natty I think you can start the whole pre-ov diet on CD1, I have this cycle anyway! Love the idea of your craving curbing confession! I am up for that!(thank goodness I finished my Starbucks muffin before reading this!)
