A new thread for all you lovely, crazy ladies. Here's to lots of BFPs!

OP posts:
triplespin · 04/07/2013 15:45

Katatonic - Is the acupuncture treatment painful in itself? I don't have a phobia of needles, but i can't imagine having so many stuck in my body for 45min-1hr ! How long have you been getting the treatment for? Are you based in London - if so would be interested in a recommendation.

Aylant78 - I'm almost ready to defy the 1 month rule, but DH feels its best to wait and also just to avoid any doubt we thought its better to wait. I've heard the first AF after mc can also be fairly horrible and painful !

Wishing good luck to all of you waiting for BFPs this month !!

CamomileHoneyVanilla · 04/07/2013 17:18

hey folks,
Thanks for all the congratulations messages. DH very pleased obviously - its a quieter pleased than last time (from both of us). Its sad not to have the excited naivety that we did last time but I supposed its good in that it'll be less of a shock if I have another mc. I think its probably a couple of days-post honeymoon baby given last weeks bfn but I think that's close enough to count.

I hope you don't mind but I'm going to lurk here for a bit as feel too nervous to join any grad threat/antenatal clubs just yet.

tailspin - we didn't wait till AF. I figured in my heart I knew I was ready emotionally, and my body would know if it was ready physically if you see what I mean. Didn't conceive that month or anything but I found the chance that I might gave a sense of hope which helped. Different for different people though.

Katatonic - I found that website too I think! Very addictive isn't it.

I really hope we get some more bfps soon. Please please please fertility gods.

I'm planning on penning an ode to pineapple when I get a chance!

KS78 · 04/07/2013 18:08

CamomileHoneyVanilla I for one would love it if you stick around - give us all some hope!! Tell me more about the pineapple - I read that you should eat the core for about five days after ovulation?? Did you do that while skipping anti-clockwise around a north facing tree or anything? Grin

Tomkat79 · 04/07/2013 18:32

Yeah camomile please stay for a bit and keep praying to them fertility gods x

RainbowConnections · 04/07/2013 18:56

KS78 well done on booking manicure, good to treat yourself. But also good to hide out in bed if thats what you need. Sometimes after moping in pyjamas watching crap dvds I've felt much better.
I think the advice most people get is that there is no need to wait to start trying again. Definitely gives me a positive focus. But it may feel right for you and DH to wait.

Katatonic that website sounds great for symptom spotting craziness!

Its a really nervous time Camomille but the odds are very much in your favour.

We DTD just for fun last night. Very novel!

With the great big shagathon that has been happening on this thread it feels like some BFPs must be on the way.

DearlyDepartedMrsFinch · 04/07/2013 20:47

Oh Cam, huge congratulations! Tell us all how you did it. Well, not literally of course Grin, but which bits of Project Desperate did you invoke? Tell all.

I am currently on CD4 - booorrring! - and I'm feeling tired at the thought of the shagathon to come (isn't that terrible?!). And we have visitors around OV time next weekend. so it'll have to be quiet antics. Not relishing the thought TBH.

SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 04/07/2013 22:15

You could always try a syringe when the guests are visiting Finchy! Wink

Sal1977 · 04/07/2013 22:47

I think the sneaky sneaky ones are the hottest ones!!

Or

Do the syringe.

Sal1977 · 04/07/2013 22:53

Can I ask if anyone else has had spotting/pinky CM just before ovulating? I know one of you girls had full on bleeding etc, but its more a bit pink when I wipe and have a dig around as clearly I can't just leave it at that?

Sorry if its a bit late for a gooey question, just can't decide if its good or bad cos clearly it has to be one or the other.

Thanks chickadees!

Moving into the horndog zone of the chart, this month will consist of a shag/syringe combo, preseed, pineapple, OVkits and temping. Bloody hell, seriously, its like a fricking science experiment in our bedroom!!!

RainbowConnections · 04/07/2013 23:06

DDMF last time we had visitors at OV time it was a great relief to have to make it short and sweet and roll over go to sleep straight after. I haven't worked out how to let DH know we can skip all the palaver around the actual deed!

Sal did you mention the syringe to your GP?!

Sapphireday · 05/07/2013 05:29

Hi ladies, I don't often post but I wanted to reinstall some faith in Fertile Friday. Just tested and pregnant!

Hope they're are other people who have successfully BDed this month. My DP and I haven't done the deed since the end of May due to infertility treatment, so I'm looking forward to a bit of lovin' now!

Fingers crossed for anyone else testing today.

RainbowConnections · 05/07/2013 06:03

Congratulations Sapphireday. Thats fantastic news! And what a great start to Friday.
Roll on Fertile Friday...

Congrats sapphire! Oh, the BFPs are coming in thick and fast now! Who is next?!

The syringe idea is a good one, but not sure positive that DH will go for it. However, the short and sweet, then snoring idea is definitely a plus. God, isn't this making a baby business romantic.

Badhairday76 · 05/07/2013 11:56

Congrats to Sapphire and the other ladies who've got BFPs.

I POAS this morning feeling very excited but got a BFN. Boooooooo. Am feeling v disappointed because have convinced myself of symptoms this month. AF not due until Sun/Mon so might have a minuscule chance but not holding out much hope now. Can I ask how soon you ladies got your BFPs? The other three times I got pregnant, I tested once I was at least a week late....

SeasideLily · 05/07/2013 12:24

I'll join you in that BFN Badhair - and it's a definite from me, as AF stopped by half an hour after testing. Hey ho, it's reasonably 'good' timing as I have a fun long weekend planned, that will be all the more fun with a bottle glass of wine or two. I've decided waiting to POAS is like waiting for A Level results every month - we've done all the hard work, there's nothing more we can do to change the outcome except wait. But this is one exam I'm pretty confident I'll fail now I've only got the one tube.

Super happy for you though Sapphire!

Triplespin I've been having acupuncture for 3 months now - I went mostly to try and sort my head out, I was so stressed and going crazy with it all when we started TTC again after the ectopic. She advised me a give it a break for 2 months to sort my periods out, and this is the first month TTC again - I do feel much better. Not up the duff yet, but think I ovulated from the wrong side this month. It's been worth it to calm me down, I think, and she has a stupendous track record. 14 of the last 15 of her fertility patients are now knocked up, some of whom have had major problems - failed IVF, ectopics, miscarriages, years of trying etc. So I have high hopes. She better deliver, it's £45 a time and I go twice a month! Won't be able to afford a kid at the end of it all!

Badhairday76 · 05/07/2013 12:32

Thanks Seaside - it's shit having one tube, isn't it? Am interested in your Accupuncture lady. Are you in London?

Trinpy · 05/07/2013 12:46

Congratulations to sapphire

Why does everyone keep going on about pineapples on this thread? Is this something I should know about?

Sorry Seaside and Badhairday. Hope you have a nice weekend in the sun. I know little about getting pregnant after ectopic but it sounds awful to have an extra layer of worry. (Seaside - i think you put a but more effort into your A-levels than i did!)

Kat does sound a bit early. I tested 5dpo last time, hard to wait isn't it.

Ooh lots of support for starting straight away - just checked if i'm ov, but no sign so far (3 wks post mc - sigh...).
seaside 14/15 sounds like an amazing record. I have heard that if nothing else, acupuncture at least helps to relieve the stress and I know what you mean. I'm already driving myself nuts - waiting for any sign of ovulation or AF.
katatonic I would prefer something in Central London, simply because I can go after work or even during lunch time. I hope it doesn't make me too lightheaded though !

SeasideLily · 05/07/2013 16:19

Thanks rainbows, it certainly makes me less hopeful now, but in a way that's no bad thing as i'm less inclined to symptom spot, though still managed to feel that this might be my month.

Badhair, sorry i'm in Edinburgh, not terribly helpful. It has help relieve tension i think triplespin, although perhaps part of that is that each month brings another 'symptom' i need to add to the 'ignore' list: boobs, hungry, lightheaded, feeling sick...as they've all been proved wrong.

SeasideLily · 05/07/2013 18:22

badhair - also yes, having one tube sucks. Like many are saying, it takes some of the prospective excitement of getting pg again away for me, because i've always got that nagging question: 'is my body going to try and kill me again? Am i going to lose the other tube and things get really tricky?' Although there's always hope: my friend lost both tubes and now has a three y.o and twins...
