Sal1977 · 03/07/2013 21:11

Yaayy!!! A lovely big fat BFP for the gang!!

Got back from the doctors and after crying in front of him, he told me that clearly I'm ovulating, and in terms of me worrying about my age (nearly 36), I have nothing to worry about.

He said dont do temping or OV kits, just DTD 3 times a week. Ppfft....yeah right. A bit relieved and a bit disappointed...he said keep going and we'll get there.

SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 03/07/2013 22:05

Right, that's one BFP in the bag. Come on you lot, get fertilising! I've done my bit this month, I want to see some serious shagging going on!

SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 03/07/2013 22:34

Hell yeah!

Trinpy · 03/07/2013 23:43

Congratulations cam!!!! great news!!!

And 5 times in a week?!!! dear god. Is everyone else managing to shag this much?? We managed once the day before I ovulated. Must try harder.

fedupofrainydays · 04/07/2013 07:26

Yep - I did 8 times in one week this month so if am not up duffed (really dont feel I am) I'm toning it down next month as that was hard work! Just So badly want to be pregnant again that We are giving it everything!!

So I have done my bit too this month, come on ladies - get down to it!

RainbowConnections · 04/07/2013 08:02

All very impressive. I'll never keep up with that action!

flohs · 04/07/2013 08:35

Trinpy I have done that before but started doing every other day on doctor's advice and that is so much easier.

Cam - amazing. A honeymoon bfp is so lovely too. Congratulations!!!

Aly..yeh that's what the doctor said re sperm. It just feels weird because I guess my attitude before was do it as much as possible. But that wasn't working for us in terms of tiredness and pressure so this is heaps better. Let's hope the doctor is right!!

Aly, miss and fed up we must all be testing at the same time. Fingers crossed for all of us.

Sal - I've been trying for a year and has a mc just over 4 mths ago and just went to the doctor and had a v similar conversation. So I guess we just have to keep going.

Alice I'm soooo sorry you are back here. It's cruel and unfair. Hope you are not here for long.

Sal1977 · 04/07/2013 08:36

We did 9 days in a row last month, but starting a couple of days later this month! Gonna try and mimic the month where I got PG last time! Ov sticks are getting darker, so defo need to ramp up the randiness!!!

I so want it to happen this month. Confused

I think all these doctors are probably right (for most of us) that just dtd every second day, or 3 times a week, or whatever will be enough to get the job done. The last two times I've been pg that's exactly how it happened. Those swimmers last for so long it's really just down to luck: the right egg has to meet the right sperm and when that'll happen we can't control....
BUT what they aren't taking into account is the NEED to get pg again after a mc and the lack of control that we feel. At least we can control the sex part so actively trying hard in that regard makes us feel like we are doing something.
Plus there's the satisfaction of seeing a line on an ov stick, or a temp spike and KNOWING that our body is doing what it should. (or not, and then being able to do something about it)
That's kind of how I feel anyway.

Having said that we managed 5 goes in a week and I so hope that this is the month. fx

Oh dear - anyone got any positivity I can borrow?? Feeling awful this morning - best friend rang me last night to tell she is pregnant - made it much worse by being very apologetic and begging me not to hate her. Don't even want to get up this morning - am convinced I will never ovulate again.

triplespin · 04/07/2013 11:18

Can I join too? MC at 5+3 wks, 2.5 weeks ago. Had bleeding at home over the weekend and by the time I went to EPU for a scan, my pregnancy test was negative and no sac was visible either i.e. a complete miscarriage. Bleeding stopped a week after and now I am anxiously waiting for AF to arrive so that we can start trying again. I have come across several posts where they have not waited for AF, but we thought its best not to go against the doctor's advice (which was to wait for AF to arrive before trying again). Already testing with OPKs but no sign of ovulation so far (yes I'm being impatient to be checking already!).
We conceived on the second cycle. So I'm hoping that we don't have to wait too long to get BFP but googling suggests that a lot of people's cycle's do go haywire after mc. I hope that is not the case.

I'm also thinking of investigating acupuncture / chinese herbal medicines. It may seem that we don't have trouble getting pregnant, but I would really like to do all that is possible to ensure a smooth pregnancy next time. Has anyone looked into any of the above - and know of any success stories?

Yey - positivity-def need some more! Had my erpc on the same day as my niece was born - so had no positivity left thank you! DH has just popped home - told me to get dressed. Have had a shower and now am going to clean my fridge....Any more success stories out there? Or things to try? Why is I get really excited when someone on here gets BFP but in RL it kills me??

SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 04/07/2013 12:52

KS78 these are our buddies and we know that they've been through the same crap. Each person on this thread who gets PG again is a ray of hope. In RL I always feel that they are just rubbing my nose in it.
The misery does lift. My MC was at the beginning of February, and even last month I was having days of total depression when I didn't get dressed. Touch wood, it hasn't happened since, but AF is soon due, so Im bracing myself. The days of depression are getting further apart though which is definitely a blessing.

alyant79 · 04/07/2013 13:38

hi triplespin. absolutely no need to wait for first AF especially with such an early mc and negative pg test.
But you have to do what feels best for you, and if that's waiting for first AF, then wait.

ks78 you're still very much in the hormone crash period, and totally entitled to stay in bed all day if you like! As saggy said, it does get easier. My mmc was diagnosed in feb too, and now the periods of sadness are much fewer and further apart - mostly they come when my motherf*ucker AF turns up yet again.
So I guess that fact that I'm still here isn't much of a ray of hope, but I've come to terms with it a lot more

KS78 · 04/07/2013 14:54

Ok! Fridge cleaned, hair washed and pedicure booked for Wednesday! Royal bee pollen jelly vitamin things arrived - along with a beautiful bunch of flowers from a friend at work. Bring it on! Did many of you wait till first AF before trying again? We are going on holiday next week - am hoping I will ovulate while we are away and was planning to get straight back on the horse so to speak....

Trinpy · 04/07/2013 15:09

ks78 - know exactly how you feel. It sets you back a bit but it will get easier.

Hi tailspin I'm in a similar position to you, mc at 5+3, 2 weeks ago. My doctor said it's physically fine to start ttc again straight away. It's more down to when you feel emotionally ready. The only reason some doctors tell women to wait until first af is it makes it easier for them to date the pregnancy before the first scan. But do what feels best for you.
I was also told that cycles after a mc are like cycles after any pregnancy, im that some people go straight back to normal while others take a bit longer.

Trinpy · 04/07/2013 15:12

If you and your dh feel ready for it, get back on the horse! I am and it's helped given me something positive to focus on.
