Advice re OPK please-very early smiley face

This is my second month using an OPK (clearblue digital that tells you when you are both high and peak fertility). Last month I didn't get a high fertility sign at all (flashing smiley face), it just went straight to peak fertility (fixed smiley face). This was on day 12 which was a couple of days earlier than expected but still seemed normal.

I only finished my period a couple of days ago but started using the opk straight away as my cycles vary a bit (26-30 days). Today (day 8) I got a high fertlity sign. Surely this is too early?

So, we had sex last night just for fun rather than baby making but now I'm thinking should we do it again tonight as I got the high (but not peak) fertility sign or shall we just start doing it every other day until I get the peak fertility smiley face. I don't want to exhaust DH and his swimmers but don't want to miss the window either.

You may have already ovulated as I'm no expert but logic would suggest that you haven't yet so keep dtd every other day. You may ovulate later than expected or not at all this cycle. Fingers crossed you get your peak tomorrow as that would answer alot of these questions.

Yeah would be nice eh??!! I think it's a bit crap they told me I may have missed it as I have done their tests as they suggest!! Can't help needing a wee in the night!!!

Any news bambi?

Just done it...flashing smiley :( not going to buy anymore this cycle as seems pointless as I think the lady probably know something we don't (maybe that if you miss your peak it continues to flash as it confuses it!!!) so don't think there's much point will just buy a 20 pack if I need one next month just in case! Dtd again last night and will continue to until after weekend then will only be a week until due af so if I ovulated I would have done by then!! Keep me posted with your af/bfp!! And if I'm not pg by next cycle I will keep you posted with when I actually ov! Thanks for support!!

Boo! Another flashing! Well I think you are doing the right thing by dtd every other day just incase things are delayed. I've managed to dtd for the last 3 nights following my peak will hopefully have a night off then another bd for good luck - I'm knackered from it all. I'll keep you posted. Good luck! X

I know rubbish eh?! Was hoping it may turn but never mind if we dtd anyway won't really make a difference and will have to try again next month! Yes keep me informed when is your af due?

BNmum · 12/06/2013 12:39

Af due anytime from 18/06 which is less than a week away. What about you?

Report
Bambi27 · 12/06/2013 12:42

Just catching up with this thread. Had a busy few days so not been able to MN.

Great that you got your peak eventually, BNmum. When do you think you'll poas? My AF's not due for another fortnight yet (still a bit concerned that my ov seemed very early, but we shall see).

Sorry you've not had your peak smiley yet, Bambi. I would have thought though, that the flashing smiley would have disappeared if you'd past ov though. I wonder you've got a faulty CB digi? It's a bit annoying as they're expensive and meant to take the guess work out of ov, particularly if, like me, you're really not in touch with your body's signals. At least you've dtd plenty, so hopefully you've caught ov anyway.

It's all so uncertain, isn't it? We spend so much time trying to get the timing right and then so much time waiting and symptom watching. I'm trying not to pay any attention to any pg symptoms I may get over the next fortnight, as the other month I convinced myself that I had pretty much every one and was really shocked when bfn! I even managed to convince myself for a week afterwards that the test was wrong. Blush

I've signed up with ovufriend too, in an attempt to try to chart my cycle better. If I get bfn this month I think I might buy a thermometer too. Yet another expense!

Hi Charlielarlie, yes very annoying...I sort of feel from the way the women said 'no don't buy any more sticks' she may have felt there was something wrong with machine or something as surely they're supposed to sell sell sell so buying more sticks would have been good for them??!! Ha ha! Never mind I will try again tracking ov next month and make sure I buy the 20 box and don't wee in the night! I have heard from other threads that if you get your high it will stay that way until you get your peak!not sure if that's true but would make sense in my case!! I think maybe you will get bfp/af early this month if you did ov that early? We shall see!!

Hi girls, to be honest if my luteal phase is about 1 week I can't see how I can get pregnant. If things are delayed and if af doesn't arrive on sun I'll POAS the following sunday 23/06 but I'm not holding out much hope.

Will you be testing around a similar time charley?

If you do get another box of the cb advance bambi check out amazon as I got a box of 20 for £22 which is a lot cheaper than the shops.

Bambi and BNmum, am due AF on Wed 26th June, so will either test a few days before then if I get any symptoms, or on the day if I don't.

If not bfp this month will try once more with the cb sticks as can't really afford to do it every month. I'm trying to become more in touch with my body's signals but I've never been particularly sensitive to them.

Going to do exactly the same Charlielarlie to try to get more in touch with myself!! Hopefully we won't need to... I'm due af on 24th so will keep you updated!!! Make sure you do to!! Fingers crossed for bfp's all round!

Hi all. Am now 5 or 6 days post ovulation (i never get how people can be so precise) and am also adopting the same approach as Charley in that I am trying to ignore any supposed 'symptoms' as I have quickly worked out that all of the classic symptoms I get pre AF anyway.

I remember from being pregnant with DS that the only things that were really different in the pre bfp stage were implantation bleed, horrible migraine around the time of what must have been implantation and a funny smell made me want to gag. I haven't got any of those this time (though a little early) and I just feel like this is not the month. I will start testing next Wednesday anyway with Internet cheapies. I don't think I will buy a branded test unless I actually think I'm pregnant.

Charley I think I read that you can test from 14 dpo even if its earlier than your period is due.

Ah well still very early days strawberry moito so time for signs to come! With #1 only signs I had was cramps a few days before I got bfp, extremely sore nipples (cried when my hubby went by them whilst dtd (tmi!)) and a slight implantation bleed.

charleylarlie · 14/06/2013 07:07

I haven't had any symptoms yet, either, but not entirely certain when I ovulated either - could be between last Thursday and Sunday - if the opks are correct. With DS I had implantation bleeding and tingly nipples, oh and oddly my eczema completely disappeared! Am trying not to notice anything unless it's staring me in the face though as I have an active imagination - the other month I even managed to convince myself I had a metallic taste in my mouth, amongst myriad other symptoms! Good luck ladies, let's keep each other posted! Smile

Oh I know very easy to pretty much convince yourself you're six months gone!!

Report
BNmum · 14/06/2013 08:26

Haha! I know what you mean. Considering I'm also not very in tune with my body whilst ttc, during the 2ww I analyse every single twinge, feeling and imaginary symptom. This is only my official 2nd cycle ttc #2 sure I'm sure there's still time for me to turn into a total nutcase before long.

Wow! What a week it would be if we test on 22, 23, 24 and 26 and all got BFP! Fingers crossed!!
