Advice re OPK please-very early smiley face

This is my second month using an OPK (clearblue digital that tells you when you are both high and peak fertility). Last month I didn't get a high fertility sign at all (flashing smiley face), it just went straight to peak fertility (fixed smiley face). This was on day 12 which was a couple of days earlier than expected but still seemed normal.

I only finished my period a couple of days ago but started using the opk straight away as my cycles vary a bit (26-30 days). Today (day 8) I got a high fertlity sign. Surely this is too early?

So, we had sex last night just for fun rather than baby making but now I'm thinking should we do it again tonight as I got the high (but not peak) fertility sign or shall we just start doing it every other day until I get the peak fertility smiley face. I don't want to exhaust DH and his swimmers but don't want to miss the window either.

Hi ladies,
That's great news owly, I can't believe you're now 15weeks!!

How's the sickness char, have you had your booking appointment now?

How did your scan go charlie? How are you getting on?

All fine here, only 3 weeks to go!! Did a spot of panic buying last week and finally got round to packing my hospital bag (well kind of, I need to buy a nightie this weekend and find my dressing gown). Still not sorted out the house which is looking so messy!

Hi all,

I went for scan on Tues 28th, but they said the sac looks the same size and no fetal heart pulsation.

They booked me into the Womens Health Unit on Fri 31st Jan to end the pregnancy, i was given a tablet on Wednesday called Mifepristone to take and then on Friday i was given a tablet called Misoprostol.

I keep thinking that i end the pregnancy and the baby might be ok and start growing and it be too late.

The doctor took some of the pregnancy tissue and it was sent to get tested at the lab. I had a scan on 7th Feb and they said i had a little bleed still there and to go bk on 19th Feb, the pregnancy test was negative and hormone level dropped, but the scan showed there was a little bleed still there, but it had shrunk and should come out in my next period. Sad.

Ive been having achey-ness in my left leg since i was discharged from hospital, it dont know if it after the miscarriage has caused it ?.

Ive booked an appointment Tues 25th Feb at my IVF clinic, for a consultation, but ave to wait till my next period till i can try again.

Big hugs business, you've been on my mind a lot since your last post. Sorry to hear that things didn't work out and I really hope your next cycle is a success. Good luck for the consultation on Tues xx

So sorry to hear that Business. I was really hoping you'd had good news at the scan. Hope you get on okay at your next appointment. Keep us posted with how you get on, or if you just fancy a moan/chat about it we're all here.

I can't believe you're so near to your due date, BNmum! How are you feeling about it all - do you feel different from last time?

Always good to be put forward by a few days, Owly. Will you find out what you're having at the 20 week scan?

How are you feeling now, Char? Hopefully not too much sickness and/or tiredness.

I'm 22+4 now and actually enjoying a recent surge of energy - making the most of not having to go to bed at 8 o'clock. Feeling a bit more relaxed about pregnancy this time around!

Bnmum I hope you're resting as much as possible before you pop :)

Time seems to be flying for you Charlie, did you find out what you're having? Yes we will find out! To impatient!

Hi Owly. How are you doing? How long until your 20 week scan? Looking forward to finding out if you're having a girl or a boy.

I've been meaning to catch up with you all for ages, but been so busy. I'm now 24+3 and starting to feel a little tired. Hard work being pregnant with a toddler and I'm sure it will get worse. Confused

Are you getting to the point where you can see light at the end of the tunnel (so to speak!) BNmum? How near your due date are you now? I can't wait for baby news from you! Smile

Hope things are going better for you business.

How are you doing, Char?

Anybody else?

Hi ladies, I lost the thread for a while but found you all again.

How's everyone getting on? Time seems to be flying for you charley, my DS has just turned 3 so I can totally sympathise with the difficulties of coping with a toddler. I'd like to say it gets better but it's not the case, energy levels pick up but then the belly gets in the way so you seem to swop one problem for another! At least the weather seems to be improving which will make things easier. We've been doing a lot of colouring, playdoh, puzzles etc which we can do sitting down.

Not long till the next scan then owly, how are you feeling? It looks like a few are going to have a similar age gap between #1 & #2.

Are you still feeling nauseous char?

How I'd he consultation go business?

I've got less than a week until my EDD but feel like its a lifetime away. I'm not prepared at all, I'm going to blitz the house today, start with the old wives tales to get things going and feel like I'm doing something. Any tips?

Oh well done bnmum!! Make sure you keep is posted! So excited for you! Have you been watching obem, it makes it all come rushing back and I still have months to go not sure how I'd feel with a week!! GrinGrin Good luck if we don't hear from you before it all kicks off!! Where you late or early last time?

Nope not long for my next scan, two weeks on Friday until next one!! Eekk! I have next midwife appointment at 11 where she said she'll listen in to heart beat so fingers crossed!! SmileSmile

Charley hope your energy levels are picking up a bit now Smile I find I have good and bad days depending on how much I've pushed myself in the week!!

Hoping all is well with you char.

Business hoping you're doing better Thanks

Hello ladies. I was wondering if I could join you please. I have been reading all of your posts for the last 2 evenings and I think it's wonderful how supportive you all are Smile

Huge congratulations to the ladies that are already pregnant and blooming and very good luck to the tryers.

Long post alert Blush
Myself and dh have been ttc for almost 4 yrs. We are in the "unexplained infertility" cat. We have had 3 rounds of IVF and 5 embryo's transferred and all were bfn. I had an intermitant bleed in Dec and was sent for a hysteroscopy where my consultant found and removed a polyp. Since then we have been ttc naturally as hopefully the polyp was what stopped us getting pg, fx!

We are now temp charting, using pre seed, doing SMEP and cb adv OPKs. I'm on my 2nd day of flashy smiley so am hoping tomm will be a fixed. Can't believe how tiring all this bd,ing is Wink

Sorry for the bible story. xx

Hi dan and welcome!! Gosh what a long and hard journey you have had so far, good news that they've found out the problem and things are looking up!! Great news on the flashing smiley I hope it turns fixed very soon!! Just be warned if it doesn't turn fixed tomorrow or Friday don't worry mine used to take a good few days sometimes!! But fingers crossed yours doesn't!!

I don't know much about smep but char and Bnmum used it I think and succeeded so good luck!!

Hi owlysims, thank you. Congrats on your pregnancy and I bet you can't wait for your next scan Grin

Yes it's been quite a journey so far, but I have the best and most supportive dh so it's made the whole thing so much easier. Thanks hun, even though I have had the issues I have always ov every month on day 16/17 so hopefully will get fixed tomm. I only read about smep on the off chance so thought "why not" might as well give it a go Wink.
Take care

Welcome dan, like owly has already said it sounds like you've had a tough ride so far but hopefully now that you've had the polyp removed a BFP will be just around the corner for you.

Hopefully you'll get your fixed tomorrow, then the bding really begins! I'll second owly and say don't lose heart if you get another flashy though but im guessing you must have used opks before if you know when you ovulate or did they scan you during ivf? Either way, knowing your cycle & when you ovulate can only help. We used the SMEP and I conceived so I'm full of praise for it and hope it works for you too. I didn't try temping or pre-seed (that was next on the list) but it sounds like you're on the right track & giving it a good try, good luck!

Hi BNmum, thank you. Congratulations to you on your pregnancy and I bet you cant wait for bubba to arrive Grin very exciting.

Yes we're hoping this will work as we'd love to conceive naturally. If not we are lucky enough to have 6 frozen embys from last ivf cycle as a backup. Yes we're knackered already and dh's legs have almost collapsed and we're not even at the fixed stage yet Wink. Yes I used opks before the ivf and knew from my ivf scans too that I ov on day 16/17. Yes I've heard lots of good things about the SMEP and now you have another success story which is fab. We go on holiday next month so if it doesn't work naturally we will go back for a frozen transfer in May.

Thank you and take care

Any sign of a fixed dan? A holiday sounds lovely, a chance for you guys to recuperate and enjoy some lazy lunches, relaxed bding & quality time together. Where are you off to?

I'm looking forward to bubba getting here just not really enjoying this awkward phase - where its so close to time you don't want to go too far or do too much & I'm wondering if every twinge is the start of labour. It's a lot more stressful than the first time as I've go to think about childcare for DS, I'm just hoping I get a few early signs so I can line a babysitter up in plenty of time!

Haven't done it yet BN afternoon urine is better for me than fmu so i'll know in a few hours Smile Oh yes we're so looking forward to it, and yes at stressful times like this you just need quality time don't you with no worries. We're off to Orlando for 10 days Grin

Ahhh yes I can imagine you want to stay as close to home as you can and especially with DS to arrange childcare for. Hopefully you'll get the signs and twinges in plenty of time. Do you have a birth plan or just see how it goes?

Welcome dan. Nice to have you on board. Good luck this month. We weren't doing the SMEP plan the month we got our bfp, but it was the first month we used pre-seed so hopefully you've got all bases covered! Orlando sounds like just the ticket for a break. Please keep us posted with how you're getting on ttc - got everything crossed for you.

So close now Bnmum. Can't wait to hear baby news. I'm a bit nervous of going into labour this time around with DS to look after. I hope I get a bit of warning as DS arrived in less than four hours and contractions were full on from the start. DP and parents both work/live an hour away and we don't know anyone who lives close enough to ask to babysit since we moved. Shock

How are you doing, Owly? Did you get to hear the heartbeat?

Hi charleylarlie, thank you very much. Congratulations on your pregnancy, hope all is going well Smile.

Yes we've tried pretty much everything else including acupuncture so we thought this month and next month we'll go all out and if it doesn't work we'll go for our frozen transfer. Yes it can't come quick enough now, it's definitely needed. Thank you very much and take care

Only two weeks until my scan! Going so fast now! And feeling lots of movement which is nice and reassuring!! Smile
