We've run out of room on Karbea's Jan IVF thread and it is too much fun to stop! We're all getting into comfy clothes and enjoying the side effects and surprises (and occasionally some hand holding).

Hello,

My monitoring phase started today, we had our review and we are starting, yah!
DH is going to be tested for DNA fragmentation, so if that comes back dodgy we'll obviously have to wait.

But I was really surprised they are testing my amh (argc didn't used to pay any attention to it) the doctor did say it was because of my advanced years (cheeky!). I'm really interested to see what the result is. Last year my fsh was good, so fingers crossed it still is!

Has anyone else had it tested?

Also DH went and ordered vit c and e 500mg from the chemist, he didn't really see the point in waiting - guess it can't do him any harm?

TillyToffee · 18/03/2013 17:56

What's DNA Fragmentation Karbea? I had an AMH test (it was the only test at the Flintstones we had to pay for). My levels were rather on the low side.

DH sounds very proactive - good on him Smile

Shazzamattazzerly · 18/03/2013 18:00

Tilly I've got about 1 sec to post before I have an appt. amazing result congratulations so exciting.GrinGrinGrinGrin I think that false positives are rare but join choco and I with the clear blue digital addiction tomorrow just in case. Fantastic x

Karbea · 18/03/2013 18:02

He isn't normally! I'm kind of shocked actually but pleased.

read this.

We had 8 eggs and although 7 fertilised only one was really any good, two went back in on day 3, the rest arrested quickly after that, and the two that went in must have died too.

Hopefully this'll be one of the reasons.

Nokkie73 · 18/03/2013 18:31

tilly you little rascal ! Congratulations. I did think there was a gap on the sunshine bus where you normally sit, and there have been sightings of a lady in a frilly bonnet approaching Asda, demanding pregnancy tests and then having a quick snooze in the bedding department. But i didn't think it would be you. That is totally awesome news, well done ! Does Lord Toffee know yet ?

shazza if you're Mr Noks, you pretend it's a willy and walk around the front room going 'have a suck on that'. Damn fool.

dildals please tell me you're not going to pimp Granny Myfanwy out.

Noks xx

chocoloco1 · 18/03/2013 18:31

tilly wow! How many days post transfer are you? And how many days after collection was transfer? Don't know about it being the trigger shot? I did a random mid morning test a week before OTD (secret's out) and test was completely blankety blank so trigger had definitely gone 10 days after having done it. Really hope it's your bfp, fingers tightly crossed. Also, the clinic give you a torturously long wait to OTD to make sure nothing is hanging around in your system.

I'll be back on later, been home about an hour and been snuggled in bed the whole time, must get up and help DH!

EuroShaggleton · 18/03/2013 18:53

Karbea I've long been wondering about DNA fragmentation. All of Mr Euro's tests have been hovering around the low end of normal and the volume has been very low. We're both a bit concerned that there is an infection or something so he is going for tests next month to check his pipework looks ok. He hasn't actually had the frag test, but I would like him too.

I had the AMH test about a year ago and the result was 12.something, which is in the low fertility range but not that low, so I was told it was fine.

OMG Tilly! The progesterone can't affect the test result, but HCG from the trigger shot possible could. I tested at 7 and 8 dpEC to make sure it had gone, so I knew when I tested at 12 dpEC that it was a real result. How many days past EC are you? PS Sorry about the frosties. I understand what you mean about feeling bereft.

I'm feeling really spacey from the jetlag, so that is about as much as I can manage for now.

TillyToffee · 18/03/2013 18:54

I've royally Effed up, I know I have. I am only 9 days past transfer. It was a 5 day transfer but even so, the trigger could still be in my system and I didn't "test it out" of me.

I just got carried away because on that transfer timeline that is on all the forums, it said that by 9dpt HGC would be detectable in the system.

Does a 10 day ODT seem a bit early?

No, DH doesn't know. I thought it would be better to go for the official test now and just see what they say.

chocoloco1 · 18/03/2013 19:17

tilly you haven't royally fucked up

EuroShaggleton · 18/03/2013 19:29

You haven't effed up at all, you've just given yourself a bit of extra menkulling! 9dp5dt should be loads of time for the trigger to leave your system. I was 10dp2dt when I tested, so two days closer to the trigger (and my OTD was 12dp2dt, so effectively where you are now). I would be 90% sure that your second line was real if I were you.

I think most clincs test at 16 days after EC (mine does it at 14), so that doesn't seem early at all.

:)

TillyToffee · 18/03/2013 19:33

Oh thanks Euro that's reassuring. Even if it's BFN tomorrow, somehow, then I'd at least feel better knowing that I hadn't tested ridiculously early.

How are you feeling? In the market for a nap? Smile x

Shazzamattazzerly · 18/03/2013 19:35

Tilly isn't your OTD tomorrow anyway? Then surely it's a bfp? are you going up act surprised tomorrow or fess up to lord toffee? Sorry about the frosties. Fingers crossed for you for this one.

Choco you sly thing testing without telling! Mind you so did I Blush! How are you feeling now? Did you test today? Well done on the nap. I'm on my way home. Mr s has got the dinner on then it's an early night for me and shazlett. I cannot fall asleep at my desk tomorrow.

Karbea good news re cycle well done. Good to get going I had my AMH done 7.8 I'm 42. Didn't have FSH tested. I don't know about fragmentation either. I'll read up. And good old mr k getting his orders in.

Noks mr Noks sounds quite a character, I hope you both enjoy your yam whatever you choose to do with it.Wink How are you feeling today? You have obviously been out and about so you didn't take to your bed alla Tilly then!

Euro I hope you get some rest. Do you know people where you are or are you a lone traveller? When I used to go away for work sometimes I used to like to retreat to my hotel room and not have to do small talk. I find that exhausting.

Dildals you have inspired me to research Amsterdam before bed tonight. Thanks for the reassurance today.

I'm sorry about the stressing today. I had a nice trip on the sunshine bus today but I'm really going up try to trust my body and little shazlett more tomorrow. Otherwise by the time she pops out I'll be about a 100 years old from all the worry and I'll look crap at the school gates.

Xx

EuroShaggleton · 18/03/2013 19:39

I could definitely do with a nap. The mc has really wiped me out. It's only 3.30 here but I am flagging! I have consumed more coffee today than I did through the rest of 2013!

I'm travelling with colleagues, but I think we are all pretty knackered. we have a big client dinner thing on Thursday, but I hope the rest of the evenings will be my own to fall asleep in my hotel room in front of crppy US tv shows. One of the 10+ers is an expat where I am so I am going to meet up with her one night if I can. I met her on a previous trip out here and she is lovely (and a very good tour guide). :)

keepitgoing · 19/03/2013 02:07

till I would say that's 100% a bfp at 9dp5dt. That is when my clinic makes OTD. Congratulations!!! :) I don't believe you'll have kept it from dh...

euro not surprised you're tired, you've had a hell of a 6 weeks, both physically and emotionally. How lovely to meet a10+er. I was on there briefly ages ago but it was a bit busy, I couldn't keep up!

karbea well done on starting. I had amh done, it was I think 2.8, but that's a different scale was normal. They do everyone here but I think just to make money...

I want to test, but too scared. It's prob too early at 6dp5dt anyway, though I'd considered today as its dhs bday. But if it was neg I'd have to hide I'd done it, and am no good at that. Want to hang on to the possibility a bit longer. Three days...

Morning girls

I hope you are all ok.

Keep do you think you can hold out? You don't have long to go. Gosh it's so hard isn't it? I'm not sure about dates so I don't know if it's too early for you. Good luck whatever you decide to do and happy birthday to mr keep!

Tilly how are you today? Did you tell lord toffee? Have you retested? I've got everything crossed for you. Great news Grin

Any news on the Noks clan? How long are you off work for? Will you know if you have any frosties today?

How is everyone else this morning?

I've decided to really try to remain calm today. And not google anything. (yeah right!) I'm seeing the doc tonight to get that ball rolling so hopefully that will be a mini reassurance fix although we all know only too well how helpful GPs can be.

I watched abit of a programme about birth last night where the husbands were taught by midwives how to cope. Oh my god that looked painful! DP had his face covered at one point when the camera was 'business end'!

Have a good day everyone speak later.

Shazza xx

Shazzamattazzerly · 19/03/2013 09:51

Me again ok I lasted about 1 hour with the googling but I found this and it has lots of reassuring facts week by week along with percentages of the number of woman who also worry about these things. We are not alone!

www.fitpregnancy.com/pregnancy/week-week-pregnancy

Right back to work now Grin xx

Nokkie73 · 19/03/2013 10:38

shazza you are so funny. Your willpower is rubbish ! Love it. I am at home today but contemplating going to a local art gallery to see a sculpture exhibition and NOT googling stomach aches 1dp3dt and ivf failure. I shall have a little look on your website though Blush.

euro when is your holiday pet ? Are you going to slow down for a bit ?

Now then girls, these pessaries - any side effects (apart from a decidedly waxy growler) ?

keeps how is your resolve ! Can you make it till Friday ?

Noks x

TillyToffee · 19/03/2013 11:09

Euro Haha @ "Growler". There's a man in our office that everyone calls Growler. I can't tell what my side effects were from the progesterone because I pretty much always feel like shite from endometriosis. The bum bullets made some of my trumps sound a bit dangerous I suppose.... Enjoy! Smile

How's the trip going?

Shazza

I didn't tell Lord Toffee, no. I asked him, did he think we should maybe do a little test? And he said NO. A very definite NO. So I didn't tell him I'd already done one.

I did another one this morning, which was also positive. It wasn't big or fat, but defo a positive. I read somewhere that it shouldn't really matter how strong or faint the line is because the dye in test can vary - does that sound right?

Can't believe I've got to wait until 5.45. I would like to do a pee test AND a blood test. I doubt the Flintstones will offer both. If you have a BFP, how do they measure your HGC levels going up? Do they make you go back a few days later for a second blood test?

Keep Have you decided whether to test early or not? It's tempting isn't it but I know what you mean about the Bday Vs Result issue. Have you got any nice plans for DH's bday? I say just enjoy the day, and use it as a distraction from the wait.

Big hugs to everyone else x

Dildals · 19/03/2013 11:40

Tilly A positive is a positive, faint or not. On the blood test, yes, they would do 2 to see if there is a rise.
ANYWAY! CONGRATULATIONS!

noks fantastic farting that's the main side effect!

shazza Does this you checking this site mean Mr Shazza is allowed sex again? ;-)

Shazzamattazzerly · 19/03/2013 11:41

Blimey I'm bored at work!

Tilly that is amazing. A positive! Well done and congrats. I'm intrigued as to whether you are going to fake surprise with lord toffee tonight or are you going to fess up? Either way it's positive and that's fantastic. So exciting.

Noks my will power is usually exemplary but for this it is indeed pants. I'm desperate to devour any information I can lay my hands on. How are you today? I wish I was at an art gallery.

Re the pessaries. Apart from the gunk I think that it might make me need a number 2 more oftenBlush. And DP has suggested that I'm abit moody.....Hhhmmm

Someone has just made me stressed by suggesting that I should limit all travel unless absolutely necessary. Including our little holiday by train. I'm thinking that this is extreme. He says I should minimise any jostling and movement. What do you think? The morning commute is full of women on the bus and train. I can't see that Eurostar to the continent is going to harm shazlett is it?

Xx

Shazzamattazzerly · 19/03/2013 11:43

Hello dildals. I haven't had a chance to read about sex on there yet cause I'm holed up at work. Not sure about that Smile xx

How's the litter today? Do you feel sick at all? How far are you now?

Dildals · 19/03/2013 12:05

shazza minimise any jostling and movement? Was this fella born around 1820? Did he tell you also that you should be laying flat for the next 9 months? It is really not going to fall out ... Exercise is fine (and healthy for mum and baby), as long as you are not going sky diving, horse riding (because of risk of falling), skiing etc. You're pregnant, not terminally ill! Besides a holiday would relax you, which can only be good. Also I think you should make full use of Couple Time now that you still can!

I wouldn't book a holiday to cycle a Tour de France stage in the Alps or to go hiking in Alaska, but a normal relaxing holiday ... I can't see why this would be a problem and I am positive GP and midwife (would there be such a thing as a midman?) would agree.

Looking at that site you suggested at work is perilous full stop! It has lots of fetus type pictures! My work must've cottoned on by now anyway with my google behaviour.

The litter is good I think. If these kids are as quiet after they're born as they are now, we will be quids in. Not sick at all, maybe a bit breathless. Occasional spell of being incredibly hungry. Occasional bit of spotting. But that's it. So I am still not entirely sure they will find something in there at the 12wk scan, but what can you do but tough it out. DH does reckon I have started showing. I know what he means, there is definitely something starting to stick out, but I am just not convinced yet it is not the healthy appetite rather than the twins. I may have to get measuring tape out. Also, not sure whether it qualifies as a craving, but I really could eat oranges and drink orange juice all day. They'll come out orange at this rate.

Dildals · 19/03/2013 12:06

Oh and I am 10 weeks exactly, today.

EuroShaggleton · 19/03/2013 12:35

shazza I'm with dil. That chap sounds like a tvvat. Remember, women have babies in war zones and all sorts of situations. I very much doubt that sitting on the Eurostar for a couple of hours is going to make a baby fall out of your woo woo. Other than avoiding contact sports, and drinking less caffeine and no alcohol, I just carried on as normal, and despite the mc I would do the same again. I could see the embryo stopped developing. Avoiding moving or jostling had no influence on that. A holiday will be lovely and good for you.

10 weeks - awesome! They've still got 30 weeks to make pains f=of themselves though - don't count your litter chickens.

Tilly it does sound like you have done it! Woo hoo!

noks holiday will probably be in May. We'll find out when we can cycle again and book something around that.
