As if ttc wasn't nerve wrecking enough, we like the extra challenge of getting that BFP while still breastfeeding a baby or toddler. While this isn't an easy endouvour, it certainly isn't impossible as many graduates on the previous threads prove.

I'm posting a link here for any newcomers about fertility while breastfeeding.

Am also wonderig if you'd like to have some sort of stats for the tread members. I'll just start myself.

Massive congratulations sunny, that is the best news......that is the hope I needed. Have been feeling peculiar the past couple of weeks, maybe, just maybe, something is going on.......!! Hurry up AFSmile.
Everything crossed for those bfp's asapxx

Wildwaterfalls · 22/08/2013 21:06

Thanks Sunny, that made me feel better. Although also AngryAngry on your behalf for the dr suggesting it was your fault! Ridiculous.

Anyway, I do seem to be easily upset / worried by anything at the moment, the question is pg or pmt??

Will try to hold out until Sunday with testing.

eggsnbeans · 23/08/2013 05:21

Yayyyyyyyyyy Sunny Grin Grin Grin so pleased for you, especially as you don't have to night wean now! How exciting! And great LP too! Envy just a bit Oh yes the horniness is always a good sign Blush I'm charting too, although finding it a lot more difficult to be consistent this time round as DD wakes up at different times! I only really BMT from just before I expect to ov, through my fertile time and long enough to confirm ov though.

Wild FX for you for Sun! Sounding good with the being teary Smile although that is crap of the GP to be mean like that! Have you caved and tested yet?

I think I ov'd tues or wed so will be expecting AF middle of next week going by my previous records. My boobs are quite sore this month though (more than other months) so hopefully that means there's more progesterone or something Wink Total wishful thinking though!

That's so awesome that you tandem fed Three! I'm really hoping to do that, but will have to get pg 1st!

Do you give your DS cows milk to drink as well as BM Sunny? Just wondering if it's necessary to give other milk if they're still getting BM over 12m! DD is very fussy about most things and not keen on drinking anything else yet.

Hello. I'm a lurking graduate (due any day :) ) and I had a double length first cycle I'm afraid then they dropped to 'normal'. That was at 7m though and didn't start TTC for another year.

Wildwaterfalls · 24/08/2013 10:39

Ooh exciting jennimoo, good luck with the new arrival!

Sunny - my cycles went back to normal immediately. I guess it's another case of everyone's different..

Well remembered Sunny Smile! No, no POAS or AF yet here - have a feeling this isn't our month and not sure I can cope with a bfn Hmm. Maybe AF will just show up. I'll see how I feel tomorrow!

DD feeding very enthusiastically at the moment - I think she's still not quite herself so not happy with food or bottles, but lots of bm.

Fingers crossed for regular cycles for you straight away!

Hi Jennimoo great to hear you are almost due to pop!

Any news yet Wild? Got lots of fingers and toes crossed for you Smile

So are you gearing up for dtd like mad next week Sunny? Did you have normal length cycles before or really long ones?

I am expecting AF Wednesday I think... I have had a few cramps and the 'impending feeling of doom' I always get when AF is coming Hmm I was really hoping for a bfp this month as it's our anniversary coming up and would love to present DH with a BFP on the day! So LP still crap Sad infact no change at all over the past 5 months despite feeding a lot less! I guess I'll be in the having to wean to get a normal cycle back camp Sad (see 2 sad faces in 1 post, definite sign AF is coming Wink )

BFP everyone!!! I am literally shaking with excitement. Really had not expected it this month.

Desperately trying to manage my own expectations as it is such early days, but BFP!! Grin

I think I might cry soon.

DH is not as shocked as I am - he told me yesterday he thought I was pregnant Confused. Other than this crying at the doctor's I have had no symptoms, literally zero, if anything a few things that made me think AF was about to show up (spotty skin, bit achy).

So eggs don't give up yet for this month - keeping my fingers crossed for you!

Ah Sunny that's so nice you told your DH Smile. I am less shocked now but have already started worrying about aches and pains, lifting DD, things I shouldn't have eaten... I suppose the mmcs we had before DD still feel quite recent and it's hard for me to relax. I know how lucky I am to be pg though. The good thing is, though, that with DD's birthday this week and going back to work next week there will be plenty to distract me.

Good luck with the first (and hopefully successful) cycle of SWI!! I am sure I read somewhere (probably on this thread, quite possibly a post by you!) that those who have to wait a but longer for AF then get pregnant more quickly once it is back.

I will be following this thread closely until you get that BFP! Smile

eggsnbeans · 26/08/2013 21:38

Congrats Wild Grin Grin so pleased for you! And so quick too! Bloody brilliant! Double celebrations this week then with DDs birthday too Grin I knew you'd be lucky this month, I just had the vibe Hmm

DD is almost 12m Sunny Smile can't believe it! I was talking to DH yesterday and I think I've decided to aim to stop DDs lunchtime feed gradually in the next month (in preparation for me going back to work if I ever get a new job) but otherwise carry on as we are until Christmas. I like to have a bit of a plan, makes me feel less hopeless Smile although I'm def nowhere near as organised as you!

ThreeGoMad · 26/08/2013 22:19

Huge congrats Wild, that's wonderful news Grin

I am not a good advocate for tandem feeding Blush I remember being with a group of mums of whom several had tandem fed and revealed at one point googling "I fucking hate tandem breastfeeding" and how much it helped to read other people's stories about hating it, because mainly people write about how amazing it is so hating it feels quite lonely - and they all said they'd done exactly the same Grin Poorly constructed sentence, sorry, but hopefully you get the gist!

I found bfing through pregnancy hard (really hurt!) but DD was very keen and I wanted to try tandeming. Think I developed nursing aversion either during pregnancy or soon after DS arrived, though it only struck when DD was nursing, not DD - horrible, like my skin was crawling. Remember digging my nails into my palms to give me a different sensation to focus on.

First few feeds were lovely - DD sat on my lap and DS sat on hers :) Once he got too big they would just sit either side of me on the sofa I think or in bed, though after a while avoided feeding them at the same time if I could.

Engorgement was horrendous - I have oversupply anyway, but it was being stimulated by two but DD was sleeping 12 hours through the night.

BUT - despite this long tale of woe, sorry Blush - I would consider doing it again, if DS didn't self-wean during pregnancy. Seeing them hold hands while nursing or DD showing DS how to do it were ridiculously cute and they are very close now, I think it did help build the relationship between them. I suspect DS might take badly to a younger sibling so am wondering whether tandem feeding might help ...

Sorry for essay!

Also apologies for the fact my previous post made very little sense! I will translate it ... I'm already on the thread for those TTC DC3 but also still bfing so thought I'd obsess here too. Last time AF returned at around 14 months (I think) but had very long/irregular cycles for a long time and don't think I was oving. This time they are back to regular 27-28 days so hoping am now oving. Was on CD17 (now CD22 I think) but had EWCM around CD16 so not sure whether I oved later than usual and will have longer cycle or I usually ov then and luteal phase is short.

Will post a biscuit to anyone still reading :)

Wildwaterfalls · 27/08/2013 09:23

Thanks eggs and three Smile

Eggs that sounds like a good strategy. I know what you mean about having a plan - it always makes me feel much better. Although our night weaning plan has unraveled and we're back to night feeds as DD is not feeling well Hmm. Oh well hopefully it won't interfere too much with the pg.

Very interesting perspective on tandem feeding Three. I can really understand that it is very very tough. Also, I'm quite a 'clumsy' person by nature and it took me ages to find a comfortable way to hold DD while feeding. Can't imagine trying to hold two! But the thought of them holding hands and the older one showing the little one how to feed does make my heart melt!
