As if ttc wasn't nerve wrecking enough, we like the extra challenge of getting that BFP while still breastfeeding a baby or toddler. While this isn't an easy endouvour, it certainly isn't impossible as many graduates on the previous threads prove.

I'm posting a link here for any newcomers about fertility while breastfeeding.

Am also wonderig if you'd like to have some sort of stats for the tread members. I'll just start myself.

hi everyone
sorry for the long silence, I've been following the thread on my phone but haven't had chance to type anything on the computer - it takes me too long on the phone.

sorry to hear about DH Waiting - sickness bugs are the worst, I can't bear the anticipation of who is going to be ill next (even if most of the time, only one or two of us get it). Hope he feels better soon. Hopefully it will just be a 24 hour thing.

thanks for doing the stats too for me, thought I'd put in a bit more detail:
ekk0 DD1 3.11, DD2 20 mths. been TTC no. 3 since August, but no AF. AF returned at 14mths whilst still bf DD1. Have recently cut down to 3 bf per day - 7am, sometime between 1pm and 4pm and bedtime 7pm-ish.

Waiting can I also ask more about your blood test results? Do you know what the numbers were for LH, FSH and prolactin that they said were 'normal'. I've recently had blood tests and prolactin wasn't high (although I'm not sure of the actual figure) but LH was low - however I'm not sure if that is a permenant state or changes over the cycles as that was obviously just one day out of many. Based on google and TCOYF I think that the low LH is the problem, as LH causes ovulation (someone correct me if you know better) but if prolactin isn't high, I'm not sure why LH would be low iyswim.

hi to new people who've just joined us (sorry can't go back and check usernames/current situations and comment without losing my message). I'm feeling pretty fed up about it all at the moment, I don't know if anyone can relate? I sort of feel stuck in thinking about TTC constantly, and not really able to just get on with life...i'm constantly on the look out for 'symptoms' e.g. cramping, EWCM but I don't know if I had all these before being obsessed by it but they just passed me by, or whether my body is changing! I'm also guilty of pregnancy symptom spotting as have no idea at what point ovulation might occur.

still, one of us has to get a bfp soon, surely :)

Hi all

Sorry to hear of the illnesses: we've been hit by them too!!

So having massively cut back on DS's feeding (or rather, extending the time between feeds to 10hrs once a day), my body seems to be getting into gear. Huge amount of EWCM this Saturday/Sunday which was very exciting!!

I posted this in another thread but never got a response. For a few days I've been feeling a pressure feeling down by my ovary. Kind of like if you put your tongue in your cheek and push it out. So not painful, just a pressure. From extensive Googling, I think that this could be the growing/swelling follicle(s), particularly since it seems to coincide precisely with dropping the feeds.

Has anyone else had this?

Thanks Waiting.

Sorry about the lack of swi. So frustrating!! I remember having to wait a few months to ttc#2 after some medical treatment and it was dreadful watching myself get fertile and then it just fade away with nothing to show for it. Hope he gets better soon...

Hi everyone!

Sorry I've not been around lately, I just don't know where the time goes!!

Hi to everyone new and to the regulars. Hope your DH gets better soon, Waiting, and this is your month.

Still absolutely nothing going on here. DS2 is still a boob monster, though can quite happily go all day without me so long as he can't see me. He did some tv work recently and when I was in the room he was unsettled, as soon as I went into a different room he was a different baby, happily interacting with his 'family' and didn't care I wasn't there! He will also go to bed with a bottle for DH but if I do bedtime it has to be bf.

We're away for a week over Christmas with family so I'm going to try to wean him off, or cut down, with my family to help distract him. I'm typing this with him feeding because he fell over and bumped his head, I'm going to miss the instant comfort I can give but I'll find other ways.

I'm still doing OPKs but still nothing going on, no sign of ov or AF. DS2 will be 16 months next week so hopefully it'll come back soon.

Ok, I'll catch up on the thread properly now.
Koko

Hi all!

AF arrived today. Cd36 so hopefully cycles are getting back to normal as it's a week shorter than last time

Am going on a whole grain lean protein fruit and veg diet to try to get hormones working! Except christmas in the middle doesn't really help but you have to start somewhere!

Good idea on the new thread title waiting!

Thanks waiting today ok, except half a flapjack and half a slice Victoria sponge - it should be called the 'half slice' diet!

Hey ladies, sorry I have been rubbish but I thought I'd give a quick update... I got a BFP, in fact more p than expected!

I am convinced the Agnes castus brought my cycle back and then thought last month I had a very short luteal phase and af came in day 9 which I was pretty concerned about so started taking 100 mg of b6. It was very light but I thought my cycle wasn't sorted yet.

However I tested this month at what I thought was about 11 dpo and got 3+ on a clear blue.... Bizarre I thought Hmm

After much research and consideration I think my last af was in fact an implantation bleed and I am actually 6 weeks Grin obv I am thrilled.

So best of luck ladies, a positive tale to end the thread. My DS is 11 months, feeds 3 times in 24 hours and I think I conceived in my 2 Bf cycle in the end... Shame about the Wine I have been drinking... Confused

Wow lelly that's such fantastic news, about time we had a BFP as it's been a while! Many congratulations. And don't worry about the wine, it's something happens to so many people ( inc me first time as dd was unplanned) before getting a BFP.

What a lovely christmas present!

I am inspired!

Grin

Waiting that is a great plan to start the new thread with those links, hoping it will give us all good luck too!

Lelly congratulations!! And further along than you thought too, what a bonus! I'm so pleased one of us got a Christmas bfp Smile

Just a quick update from me as we are away on holiday. Arrived last night and have woken up this morning to AF for me and a high fever for ds. I guess both of us will be staying away from the pool for a few days! We're taking it easy today and hoping tomorrow will be better. On the plus side, AF is only 9 days overdue this time compared to a month last cycle, so hopefully that's a good sign.

Waves from across the sea to everyone. I know I have missed lots of posts and will try to catch up when I get back. Sorry about DH being ill and no swi this cycle Waiting, how frustrating. At least you have the small compensation of being able to eat and drink what you like over Christmas. New thread sounds good, I have high hopes that the next one will see us all get our BFPs!
