TTC #2 and turning into a nut job!

gemmeg · 18/02/2013 07:13

Ladies, bring me back down to Earth before it's too late! I'm TTC #2 and its only the 2nd cycle and I'm already doing my own head in not to mention my OH.....we're not the kind of couple to have regular sex when not TTC (much to my disappointment Sad) so it's a real effort for DS to, erm, pull his finger out as it were and DTD every other day. With DS1 I had no idea about CM and OPKs and just used an ovulation calendar for timing but this time round I'm in danger of falling into the OPK trap! I'm aware of my constant whittling and DH even said that he hopes I get pregnant this month so he doesn't have to listen to me begging for him to do it just one more time! Anyone in the same boat?

2be can I just say Grin yayh!! So glad you have a second BFP within a week, so chuffed for you! :0) Hee hee, your comment on pee'ing on things made me chuckle....Wink but yep I know what you mean, and have been filling my days with playing with DS, seeing friends and working with my miniture business! (it's not literally teenie tinee, but metaphorically speaking!!) Grin Thanks for the support and gusto to keep me going Smile

winter way past that point im about what i'd consider as 4 days late so far with AF and the last test I did was BFN, but not going to test until Sat, unless AF arrives! If you can (and I know its tough!!) I'd wait until the 26th (yep I know I suggest this, when ultimately we all get to that point just before when we end up testing, but good luck with trying to hold off testing!) Smile

mummy good luck with coming across all relaxed and non plussed about dtd, hopefully DH wont feel pressured or even realise!! I think if you dtd yesterday then that should cover you timing wise, unless I have confused myself totally!!?? Is that right ladies?! (if not I hope you manage to get a quicky in tonight Wink

nomore Hellloooo! Well done on the weight loss, just coming off the pill I managed to shift about 12lbs, so it just goes to show lifestyle changes really can make a difference and it sounds like you are doing fabby! How are you feeling for it? Keeping crossed pinkies here for you for when you next ov :0)

midge - hope the 2ww isn't too frustrating, I am finding that keeping myself as busy as I can physically can manage is helping. Lets hope your wait brings good results Smile.

gemmeg thank you! The support and gusto to keep going really helps me not to POAS (even though Im going nuts!!). Maybe your twinges are early ov, whats your instinct saying? you could always do OPK's and maybe say to OH could you change the dates if you get a smilie on OPK, would he be ok with that? It is so frustrating when cycles change or when you get other symptoms that throw confusion into play Confused I hope that it levels out so you know when to dtd Wink Smile Good luck!

Mummytothearkbuilder · 16/04/2013 23:24

No DTD for us tonight - DH has fallen asleep - how rude!! So we DTD Sunday, Monday and will do it tomorrow (Wednesday) - opk showed positive Monday and tonight so hoping that's enough!! X

AbiBub · 17/04/2013 09:24

mummy that sounds like it should be enough, keeping all pinkies crossed for you :0) x

pettyprudence · 17/04/2013 17:33

i reckon it will be the Sunday/Monday dtd that will count mummy - well done for some excellent pre-emptive timing Grin

Mummytothearkbuilder · 17/04/2013 17:48

Thanks petty and abiBub - I have had some twinges on my left side on and off today and wondering whether its ovulation pain as I had something similar last cycle. I'm going to be on full seduction mode this evening once DS is asleep!!

Hope you have all had a good day x

nomoreminibreaks · 17/04/2013 18:47

Thanks AbiBub! Feeling good to have made a start but it feels like a drop in the ocean. I weight the same as I did 9 months pregnant with DS so something has to be done. I could do with losing another stone really and that seems a lot but I guess any progress means less to do after DC2... Plus I lost 11lbs in the 1st trimester with DS from the sickness so that might help

Mummytothearkbuilder · 18/04/2013 10:49

Morning ladies - full seduction mode worked last night - yay! Fingers crossed we have done enough this cycle.

I too am on a major weight loss mission - I have NEVER shifted the weight I gained with DS 4 years ago and am sick of being squishy and flabby - I literally detest the way I look. However April is the worst month to try and kick start weight loss as we have so many birthday - including mine this weekend!! I am going to seriously attack the flab in May!!

X

gemmeg · 18/04/2013 11:58

Hi there! Glad your seductive charms worked mummy!

I did a cheapy opk this morning and got a weird thin dark line....does anyone know if this is positive??? I've been doing them twice a day so will do a digital later as well. I assumed it would be a neg but I had a look online at forums and it seems it happens a lot and should be considered a pos which would make ovulation a full 4 days earlier than last month! Me and DH were taking bets on when it would happen and he said Sunday Smile. I kept telling him it was going to happen early (i felt so crappy yesterday- lightheaded and dizzy) but apparantly he knows my body better than i do Wink. Mind you, the past couple of weeks I've stopped BFing at all during the daytime and DS now only drinks before bed and maybe once in the night so maybe that has had a drastic effect on my body.....basically, I've not a chuffing clue!!! Looks like I'll have to work my seductive charms later too. Right, I'll stop banging on about it now. Ta ra for now Smile.

Woo Gemmeg!! Now go, go, go!!!

Any update Abi?

Mummytothearkbuilder · 18/04/2013 17:15

Get going gemmeg - good luck hun! X

AbiBub · 18/04/2013 23:00

Hello Ladies!

gemmeg Woop woop, I hope as I am typing this very message you guys are busy dtd on the baby making mission!! Hope all goes well and that you can get a BFP of this dtd spree Wink.

mummy keeping all pinkies corssed for a BFP for you in few weeks based on your dtd spree too, seems like you have made the best of the fertile window Grin. I hope you have a fabby birthday this weekend Smile Flowers.

nomore I know exactly what you mean and love your description "squishy and flabby " as I can totally relate to that!!! I only just started losing a bit of weight since I came off the pill. The more positive results of the pill ceasing is that my mood is so much better and I am much more like the old "me". They say as a lady gets older she can lose the elasticity in her skin and not get it back, I'm not so sure that that applies to everyone, but for me who started off as an older mum to our DS, I can half believe it. I used to be so toned. I have started walking more where I can, this is such a gentle but positive way to increase health.

Hey 2be thanks for the ask Smile. Still no AF, but I still dont want to believe that I may be pg as I cant bear the huge let down. Everyday that goes past keeps making me think that I am, but I cant bring myself to POAS yet as I hate the thought f getting another BFN Sad. Again no horrendous AF cramps or stonking headache yet, and my driving has stayed intact for the mo, so who knows! The worse thing is the last couple of days I feel like my tum has grown just at the front, and I had to get into pj's earlier because my trousers were digging in (could just be water retention, and quite frankly I love any excuse to get into pj's Wink) . They do say 2nd time around you can show earlier on, but this early? (thats if I am pg!!) 2be have you found any clothing restrictions yet? I'm coming up to a week past when my AF was due.

So far I have managed to keep myself occupied, and tomorrow we find out which primary school our DS has gotten into, im so nervous and excited!! If AF hasnt arrived by sat, I will do another test. I'm so proud of myself for holding off on POAS so far, but lighter on the bank since ebay showed me a nice bag and purse Wink (winging its way to me hopefully soon!)

I best get some kip, long day tomorrow, and I have probably sent anyone reading this off to sleep!! Night all, dream sweetly! Smile

Mummytothearkbuilder · 18/04/2013 23:32

AbiBub - good luck with the school place - we are in Cambridgeshire and don't find out until 1st May!! Xx

AbiBub · 19/04/2013 10:27

Thanks mummy. Im going nuts here at the mo, as no email has been sent through yet! I feel a little nauseaous :0/ I hope you get the 1st place that you opted for in May!! :0)

2beornot · 19/04/2013 10:31

Abibub you have all the symptoms but no BFP - something not quite right!! I am exhausted but given that I was up most of the night with dd who is really poorly, I don't think it's the pregnancy!!

gemmeg · 19/04/2013 11:06

Abi I notice you wrote your message at 11pm.....it was all done and dusted by then Grin. TMI but boy, did I need it!! Grin Grin. How are you feeling today? Any more symptoms?

Will DTD again tonight and perhaps Sat if I can persuade DH. Just hope it's enough as ov caught me by surprise this month. The good thing though is that I'm learning more about my cycle with each month....we know now that as soon as the first twinges arrive to get on with DTD and not wait.

OP posts:
winterpansy · 19/04/2013 13:28

Hello hello!

So I'm 7po now and trying to convince myself that I have symptoms although I have an non-pg excuse for all of them really:
Extreme fatigue (but I've been seriously under pressure with work things and DS has been up ill the past two nights)
More frequent urination (could be imagined)
Weird feelings in the uterus area (could be wind or AF getting ready)
Constipation (I haven't been drinking enough water)

abi How are you today? Any sign of AF? I do hope not!

gemmeg Good girl - sounds like you're getting down to business rightly! Enjoy Grin

How is everyone else doing too?

CabbageLooking · 19/04/2013 15:10

Hello - is it too late for me to join in? On the third cycle since having implant removed and am also going slightly insane. AF is due on Tuesday and it is going to take ALL my willpower not to POAS before then. I'm not very confident though. Best of luck all those who are due in the next few days. x

gemmeg · 19/04/2013 18:50

Hi cabbage. The more the merrier! Welcome to the nut house!

Mummytothearkbuilder · 19/04/2013 22:33

Hi cabbage - welcome!!!

AbiBub - did you get the school place?

So ladies - this confuses me every cycle - when do I start counting my dpo from?? I had positive opk on Monday and Tuesday and think I ovulated Wednesday based on ovulation pain so would I be 2dpo today??

Busy weekend of birthday celebrations - 29 tomorrow - where does the time go??? Someone told me recently that I "better get a move on with #2 as I'm 30 next year" no pressure then!!! Xx

AbiBub · 19/04/2013 23:33

Hello lovely ladies!! Smile

2be That could be the pregnancy plus being up all night with dd. These are trying times for all who are pregnant with #2 bubba as 1st pregnancy we wouldn't have head to deal with another kiddlywink (which is tiring enough in itself!!). I know have what feel like all the symptoms but not BFP yet, but thats because I have actually been able to keep myself soooo busy I haven't POAS since monday (go me!) Smile.

gemmeg hee hee, you do make me chuckle, glad you got dtd in last night and that you thoroughly enjoyed it, its nice just to relax and enjoy that moment, even if the purpose of it has other reasons (thats how I managed to fall pg with our DS in the first place Wink. ) Good call with going with your instincts on the twingy pains too, sometimes I think our bodies tell us the right times without us normally realising, so go with the flow and dtd as much as you can and hopefully this will do the trick! Smile . The only extra symptom was of that my tummy feels more hard and looks a little pornchy (if thats even a word!!). Still no AF or normal AF symptoms yet though. Feeling very drained today, but could put that down to quite an emotional day!

winter oooohhh although you could have a non-pg excuse for some of those symptoms, I am really hoping that they are not founded and that you are on the way to creating a LO, keeping all pinkies crossed for you! Smile. I'm feeling tired today, but been quite a long and emotional day so who knows. Still no sign of AF yet..... keep pinkies crossed for me Smile.

cabbage welcome! Hope you are well, and hold onto that willpower if you can (easier said than done I know!). Hopefully you will be in luck on this cycle Smile.

mummy. Hey! Happy birthday for tomorrow, I hope you have a fabby time, any nice plans? Dont worry, I'm going to be 32 in October and we haven't had our second (obv, can you tell i'm tired Grin). Yep, we got our first choice school place, I was soooo extatically happy I practically screamed the house down, our DS was screaming with me, and then turned round and said "hey mummy, what are we screaming for?" Soooo cute, then he went onto say "calm down mummy, calm down!!" Love him! You will have to let me know how you get on in May? Smile . I have never used opk's before so not sure, does the positive opk mean you are ov at that stage or a couple of days afterwards? if its a couple of days afterwards then I guess you would take it from the wednesday, but if its from the positive opk then take it from the monday?! Thats just my logic, but hopefully someone who uses them can confirm?!

Right lovely ladies, I am sooo tired I am nodding off at desk! If AF doesn't come on by tomorrow a.m. I am using my FMU for POAS. I shall keep you posted! (I still cant believe I managed to hold off so long for POAS, but AF could be here by morning so don't want to tempt fate yet! Nighty night! Smile

Mummytothearkbuilder · 20/04/2013 08:25

AbiBub - good luck with POAS - fingers crossed!! X

AbiBub · 20/04/2013 09:51

Hey mummy hey ladies.
Well I POAS this morning with FMU which was really strong yellow (sorry if TMI) and its still come out as a BFN. I am so royally confused now?! I used a superdrug test. They are quite low detection (10 miu/ml or greater) . Can anyone else suggest a reliable test? Still no AF, and no normal AF symptoms either. I'm a week past my AF date and its 5 weeks since the first day of my last AF. On first pg how long was it till you ladies got a BFP? (Mine was 6weeks 6 days) . Ahhhh im soooooo confused! :0 ( feeling really down now. Would just like an answer one way or another! [Confused].

How are we today ladies? :0)

gemmeg · 20/04/2013 11:56

Hmmm...that is annoying abibub. With DS 1 I tested the day AF was due and it was neg but then I fished it out of the bin (classy, I know) about half an hour later and there was a faint pink line so I tested a couple of days later and I got a faint line right away. I don't want to get your hopes up unnecessarily, but I've lost count of the number of stories I've heard about women who didn't get a BFP til a few weeks into their pg. Are you normally regular? (sorry if i've already asked that).

mummy you count your dpo starting the day after you ovd....so today, Saturday, you are 3dpo. Happy birthday for tomorrow! Flowers

We got another dtd in last night but i think that's the lot....not sure it was enough but now pleased to announce I'm in the 2ww club Smile
