Happy new thread! Here's hoping for lots of Christmas and new year bfp's, and long healthy pregnancies for everyone. Smile

Hi Rose so sorry for your losses but glad you're being taken seriously and hope you get some answers. Your comment about there still being time to have a baby to cuddle before Christmas made me smile- I never thought if it like that before.

Chocolate your AF experience is scaring me, poor you- as if a MC isn't enough Angry. I hope Shaun the Sheep is making things better- I used to have him in the form of a shower puff- his name still reminds me of crying with laughter at the dining table with my mum and brothers because one of them asked if Shaun the Sheep could talk and the other said of course not, he's a sponge... You probably had to be there Grin

Floweroct · 12/01/2013 18:38

DIY know what you mean about friends being pregnant. Found out that one of our close friends is pregnant last week and I did have to go and have a little cry in the toilets at work! I'm obviously happy for them but keep thinking how we would have gone through it together, although they already have 1 so it's not their first time. We are all going on holiday next month and now it'll be me that can drink and she'll be the driver when we assumed its be the other way round when we booked.

Just a question, had erpc 3.5 weeks ago still having a bit of spotting a few days ago since then I've just been having some brown discharge, nothing when I wipe just on my pad (sorry tmi!). Has anyone else had this? Should we still avoid dtd? I'm really hoping for a bfn when I test tmrw just want to get trying again :)

Thunderthunderthundercats · 12/01/2013 21:30

flower, totally know what you mean re a little moment in private at someone's pg news. I used to hate myself for it but I've started to just accept that's how I feel and let it happen. It's not cool though.

Re spotting after ERPC, I had spotting/bleeding on and off for 6 weeks after the op. nearer the end they were in 2 discrete bleeds rather than before that it had just been a bit on and off, frustratingly enough.

In news here, my boobs are definitely a bit tender.... tries desperately not to get excited

yorkiebilb · 12/01/2013 21:49

Rose glad to hear they are taking it seriously and doing some tests.

flower I'm not sure as I stopped bleeding after 2 and a half weeks - maybe some one on here can advise or if not give your epu a call if you're concerned.

yorkiebilb · 12/01/2013 21:50

ooh thunder sounds promising! How far along in your cycle are you again?

Thunderthunderthundercats · 12/01/2013 23:28

I'm on cd21 yorkie. Last time sore boobs were my first real symptom, I never get them usually, altho I didn't pay attention until I had to clutch them whilst walking down stairs! So probably a week before I should test or anything. Of course it could just be another hormone related thing so I'm going to try not to get carried away and stop prodding them

Bakingtins · 13/01/2013 08:59

Fx for you thunder. Feeling better, thanks for asking. DH has actually booked the builder to start on our kitchen in March only taken him 3 yrs so at least we'll have achieved something this year. We've also got a student coming to live with us for 6 weeks in the summer, am firmly not thinking of this in a "might curtail the BD if I'm not pregnant" way!

Floweroct · 13/01/2013 09:45

Thanks yorkie and thunder and fx thunder

Well did a test this morning and it still comes up pregnant argh! And also had a tiny bit of blood this morning feels like we're never going to be able to try again (appreciate I'm completely overreacting but need a moan). How weird is it after so long wishing for a bfp now all I want is a bfn!

Bakingtins · 13/01/2013 11:27

Not weird at all flower. I took 3 weeks post MC for me to get a BFN and it just felt like it was dragging it out. Hope you get yours soon.

FeministInTraining · 13/01/2013 14:05

Flower I totally get what you mean, moan away! I'm only on day 5 and had to stop myself from reaching for the pregnancy test already- because I know it will be a BFP and I will be disappointed. After 3 weeks you are more than entitled to feel frustrated. Hope your waiting ends soon x

JanieLovesHerThreeLeggedCat · 13/01/2013 14:09

waves to the newbies - sorry you're here but welcome. fx for you thunder sounds good so far! when do you plan to poas?

in my world..it seems i was wishful thinking that my cycles might be more regular since D&C...used to be 50 days... AF came on 12/12/12 then i thought i was ovulating on 28/12/12 (wipe watch!) which would have meant AF nowish... but it appears i'm actually ovulating now - knicker watch and cheapo opk confirmed!..cd33 today yaaaaawn. no wonder my poas was BFN yesterday :( looks like i'm back to the 50-ish day cycles afterall boohoo :( so another couple of weeks until poas for me. anyone else to be my 2ww buddy?

Thunderthunderthundercats · 13/01/2013 18:18

Hey janie, what a bummer about such a long cycle Angry. Hopefully you're dtding now and you'll catch this month so this will be the last for a long while?!

I was convinced af had come today- had to run to loo and everything. But no, just the old juices flowing again as it were. Boobwatch continues but they're poss less tender than yesterday. Think my hormones really are just up the creek.

If I'm on a normalish cycle, af due next weekend so will try to wait til them to test. So can be your half 2ww buddy, janie?

Bodicea · 13/01/2013 18:27

Hi everyone. Back again after long absence. Hugs for the newbies.
Exited for you so far thunder. keeping my fingers crossed for you.

I know how people feel about friends being pregnant. My best friend told me she was PG with her second a few days after my first MC ( which hubby was angry at her for) and then had an MC a week after. I had so many mixed emotions to deal with. Then when I was pregnant again she found out she was pregnant too but a week behind me. I immediately felt jinxed. I never told her this. Now I have had another MC and she is 12 weeks. I have felt myself detaching emotionally from her recently and I feel awful about it but I just find it so difficult to deal with my emotions, especially as she is now starting to show. She must be finding it hard too. She hasn't even mentioned her 12 week scan to me and we have always been the type of people to share everything. I feel like our friendship wont get back on course until I get pregnant.

On another note, I got my period finally. yay. And me and hubby had our bloods done to check they we don't have any problems like thrombophilia etc. Mine about 10 vials. him one! Banned from trying again this month so they can do a repeat at 6 weeks. Very frustrated by this ( esp hubby) but we have decided to wait it out so that we can start trying again with peace of mind that there aren't any problems or with the right medication etc if there are.

flower I feel your frustration.

diyqueen · 13/01/2013 21:39

Been away for a couple of days and trying to catch up! Hugs to the new people here.

Bodicea, that's hard with your best friend and I think your feelings are completely understandable. Hope it happens for you too soon, I'm hoping I at least get pg before my best mate gives birth... Sorry you've got a long wait before you can get on with things, hope the results are useful when you get them.

Flower, I'm with you on the frustration, still waiting for a bfn and my miscarriage started 14th december, am seriously cheesed off with the whole thing (took a couple of weeks after bleeding started for the sac to come out). Have been having regular blood tests for hcg levels, last one quite low so they said just to do a pg test this week, am really hoping it's negative. Still bleeding but fingers crossed it's slowing down (praying it stops this week otherwise am meant to go back to the hospital). Hope we both get our negatives this week!

JanieLovesHerThreeLeggedCat · 13/01/2013 23:06

Sorry to hear you're going through an emotional time bodicea, I had a kind of similar experience but my friend hasn't had it easy either so I'm delighted that she's due next month - due on my birthday! I think I've had it more tough finding out 2 other friends are pg, both who said they didn't want any more kids grrrr both are due in march.

thunder looking forward to being 2ww buddies, jealous you get to poas first heehee!! Now off to lure DH ha!!

Thunderthunderthundercats · 14/01/2013 08:12

Hi bodicea, welcome back into the fold. Sorry you've been having a tough time though, first with friend and then having to wait. It's just a few weeks but I know it doesn't feel like that and it must be so frustrating. I think you're right that your friend is probably finding it tough too- this ttc business affects life so much doesn't it- Grrr.

Hey diy, can totally understand you're pissed off with the bleeding- that is quite enough now! Fx for your bfn now- I was so pleased to see mine when I got it.

janie hope you managed to bag some of his best swimmers!

Thunderthunderthundercats · 14/01/2013 11:44

Ok so I have just had some weird confirmation that there's something going on with my hormones I think, it's very strange.

I had my hair cut and coloured on Saturday. Noticed when I got home that the colour just hadn't taken properly, so rang the hair dresser (a friend of a friend so v informal) to talk about it this morning. First question was 'have you got your period? Which invoked a conversation about the effect of hormones on hair, and she said that frequently problems come with hair colour when women have their period, are pg or are menopausal. Anyone heard of this? So we agreed to wait a week or so but she did offer to pick up a pg test for me when she went to the shop!

I know, this and my 'symptoms' are all just as likely to be linked to hormone craziness after mc. Just thought I'd share though as it entertained me!

JanieLovesHerThreeLeggedCat · 14/01/2013 13:25

Oh how bizarre thunder I was going to due my hair tonight! Maybe ill notice a difference if the swimmers made it ha!!Grin

JanieLovesHerThreeLeggedCat · 14/01/2013 13:25

Dye*

ArkadyRose · 14/01/2013 13:54

Yes, hair porosity & oil production changes when you're pregnant or experiencing hormonal changes, which affects how your hair takes on colour.

Thunderthunderthundercats · 14/01/2013 13:58

Thanks ark, I find this amazing that hormones on the inside can affect how your hair behaves on the outside!

See how you get on then janie, although obviously I'm a week ahead of you in terms of ov- if it did actually happen!

Bodicea · 14/01/2013 18:28

strange. would it not be just the roots/ i.e new hair growth that would be affected? as the ends are months/ years old? Still any sign like that is a positive. I am keeping my finger crossed for you thunder. when are you POAS?

Thunderthunderthundercats · 14/01/2013 18:41

That's what I thought bodicea but apparently not- fascinating isn't it?!

I poas- opk today and I think it might have been +ive, certainly pretty similar colour to the control line. Did it again a few hours later (albeit after having a glass of water- not good I know) and no test line at all. So now I'm very confused indeed.

Guess I need to wait it out this week, and see if af comes or boobs start hurting properly. Never simple is it?!

Bodicea · 14/01/2013 20:10

well you know what they say. Any line no matter how faint is a positive. Looking good xxxx

IBelieveInPink · 14/01/2013 20:13

Eek! Thunder! Exciting! Just catching up and looks like some fairly definite signs there!
