Oh, the other fred filled up all of a sudden! Oh well here's a new one....(horse feel free to replace if you want to be fred starter, just didn't want everyone in limbo!)

Fred rules;

1. Thou shalt shag as much as humanly possible in order to get upduffed.
2. Thou shalt not partake of OPKs, temping, or charting.
3. Thou shalt keep symptom spotting to a minimum.

JSing lingo;

ERTD = Evil Red Tide of Dooooooommmmmmm. Or AF to most others.
Pant snot = Egg white cervical mucus.
Doing a kitten = Getting upduffed soon after joining (warning: may induce in other posters).
Viroid = This is you, dear poster. The reason for this is a closely guarded secret, known only to....er....well, nobody as far as we can tell!
POAS = Pee On A Stick (of the pregnancy detecting kind, not from a tree). Also known as PIAR (Pee In A Ramekin - cos we're posh birds innit).
Shagging like something = JSing like a teenage nymphomaniac.
Giving a hooya = Giving a much needed slap to a fellow poster in danger of slipping into ttc obsession.

Frog love the concept of shagging with intent - and prep I got the old "protein injection" talk whilst I was sick with flu earlier this month. Ended up with a BFP so maybe there is some truth to it? Seeing my GP on Monday, and hopefully won't be an age to wait for the scan. My cycle has been monumentally WTF so would like some idea of dates.

My cycle is only about 22 days at the moment, anyone know when I'm likely to ovulate? If I'm not upduffed this month I may buy some sticks, but just a vague idea would be helpful! We are DTD every day at the moment anyway it's like busses in our house - you don't get one for ages, then there's loads

RockChick: your cycle is determined by your ov and your luteal phase length. Taking Charge of your Fertility by Toni Weschler explains it best but basically your luteal phase (the bit between ov and the witch/or pregnancy) is usually the same length. Mine is about 13 - 14 days. The bit which alters is the time between the witch starting and ov and lots of things can change this: stress, weight loss etc as ov only happens after hormones have built to a certain level to pop your egg and these hormones are pretty sensitive.

So on a 22 day cycle, from day I of the witch to day 1 of the witch (iyswim) your LP is probably something like 12 days so you're probably oving somewhere around day 12. Are you getting proper pant snot? Temp charting forbidden also lets you know after you have ov'd which after a few months lets you see a pattern.

I usually ov quite late in a cycle, as my pcos means my body often gears up to ov several times before actually managing it and triggering my lp and af. Before having ds I was on 130 day plus cycles. Since having him I was on 40, down to 30 when started ttc and this month all the signs for ov happened on day 14 which indicated a 28 day textbook cycle for the first time in my whole life! I find all this stuff fascinating :)

That's brilliant, thanks ding - didn't know any of it so very helpful :) Every month I think I'll start temp charting, and never do, but will try to monitor pant snot - TMI but how can I tell what is mine and what is DH's erm... protein injection from the previous night?

This is month 4, although only the second month we are actively trying to think about when to DTD but it feels like we've been trying unsuccessfully for ages!

Rock The only differential I can offer between your pant snot and DHs "deposit" is smell. Who knew TTC could be so icky.

A good way of telling the difference is that man juice will soak into the toilet paper a bit and make it damp, whereas pant snot is a bit drier/more jelly-ish and will sit on top. Of course, the ideal situation really would be to have both which kind of confuses matters! :o

Welcome newbies. So angry right now, wanted to Dtd last night as I think it might have been a key date in my cycle. Sent Dh a naughty text at lunch, early night, just getting into the foreplay and Dh starts a massive argument! No Dtd happened and I think we have missed our chance this month.

Rock: the pant snot you are looking for will look like egg white, be clear or completely clear, and if you put a bit between your fingertips and pull them part it will stretch (think like egg white falling out of the shell or like golden syrup but more slippery). Dh's ahem leftovers will be slippery, more yellow and will not stretch between your fingers but will break instead. I've had pant snot I could stretch to two inches :) and I'm telling people on the Internet as I have no shame

AND. Earlier I shoved DH off me when he leant over me to get to the mantelpiece as his deodorant STANK. I have a heavy cold and can barely smell anything but it made me retch. I had severe aversion to his deodorant before I knew I was duffed with ds. It was mental. and I am going mad as I still have no sticks

If the IC's still haven't arrived tomorrow, go out and buy something to pee on or send DH to 24 hour supermarket so you can test FMU My first pregnancy symptom with DS was sense of smell going haywire, coffee and chocolate both made me retch along with having to hold my breath when spraying deodorant!

Thanks everyone for the kind words about my choirmate who was in the car accident. She is going to have a long recovery, but is getting good care. Life can be here today, gone tomorrow. Puts things in perspective.

My sweet, unsuspecting DH asked for a bit more information about pant snot the other day (mostly because he asked how things were, and I joked "moist"). He was a tad horrified to get the textbook explanation and said he may never eat another omelet as long as he lives.

Two days post at this point, assuming I'm pinpointing well. I'll fall over in surprise if this is our month as we only got one good romp in during Critical Time due to a variety of reasons (late egg, utter exhaustion, etc.). But you only need one swimmer, right!?

Right. No witch still (cd 32 now so not totally unusual but hmm...) and still no sticks in the post as far as I can see. Am going to wait until they arrive, I got a faint line at 20dpo last time so I've bought 30 ic's in a batch, I don't want to fork out another tenner on a digi until I see what they say.

It was very odd yesterday. I'd given up on this month by yesterday then I shoved him away and I was like EW YOUR DEODORANT IS RANK and then it dawned on us both and we were just looking at each other like DH was all for running to the chemist then and there but it was raining heavily so I talked him out of it. My IC's have arrived, so hoping it was a waste and I only use one and get a BFP!!!! Ordered them while drunk on Monday night and they turned up in yesterday's post - I was quite impressed!

I've had a horrible day. A colleague who is a notorious grumpy old bastard had a huge go at me because I had the audacity to ask him for a piece of paperwork which is months overdue. He was so aggressive stood over me at my desk I ended up in floods of tears which is really really not like me. My manager tried to fob me off but I've got home all upset and DH is trying to get me to lodge a formal complaint. This isn't the first time this particular fucker colleague had been rude and insulted me personally at work and I can't shake the horrible mood he's put me into. Just want to get into bed and cry :(
