The birth part does not even begin to register in my baby plans, i'm refusing to acknowledge it. If it did I think I would stop trying! I was present at an (allegedly straightforward) birth 7 years ago and the nightmares have only just stopped. It was like a scene from Alien Shock

ZombiesAreClammyDodgers · 25/09/2012 16:11

I'm not too worried about the birth bit.. yet!
Child care and financials and how I will manage work alongside are my main worries if I'm honest.
And the "what if something goes wrong with the pregnancy/ foetus" thing.

ZombiesAreClammyDodgers · 25/09/2012 16:13

Thanks rache - you see all these feckless people with kids and you do think- surely I could be a good parent!
I am sure it will be perfectly horrendous but I don't think my ideal scenario of 8 months off is going to work..

HazleNutt · 25/09/2012 16:26

Can I just complain that it's only 25th of September! How come? it will be ages, ages until I have any reason to even start symptom spottig and POASing..

ella0 · 25/09/2012 17:23

Sorry lol and lily.

We always thought that I would have to carry on working, but we've looked into it and I would be worse off if I worked! We don't have any family nearby to help out, and the ridiculous nursery fees here cancel out what I earn. We're not entitled to any help no matter what I do. So it doesn't make sense for me to carry on working (I don't love my job, so I wouldn't miss it).

Lolcbcblemonlime · 25/09/2012 19:07

Evening and thanks for all the messages and hugs. I've just had a lovely dinner and beer and not thought about af for the whole day.
I too would go back to work full time after prob a year off. Love job and have good career and am higher earner. I don't think about labour or id give this whole thing up and get a puppy Smile

HazleNutt · 25/09/2012 19:17

you should get a puppy anyway, it's good for kids to grow up with animals. Less allergies as well.

jksfii · 25/09/2012 19:32

Hi, I'm on my first proper month of trying. I'm 41 (yikes!) and not tried for children before. I know my chances are lower than if I was younger, but I've been with my partner for over 4 years and we would love to have a baby. I see some of you mentioned symptoms and was wondering what the very early symptoms are? :)

Lolcbcblemonlime · 25/09/2012 19:55

Hi and welcome! We make up all sorts of symptoms to be honest! We are all as bad as each other! What have u got?Smile
Hazle a puppy is another battle. DH into cats so I've let that one rest for the moment. The truth is that he is scared of having kids due to health issues so we kind of need to do one at a time!

jksfii · 25/09/2012 20:00

Hi, well it's only been a few days since I ovulated and did the deed, so any symptoms are probably in my head! Just feel crampy like a mild period pain.

HazleNutt · 25/09/2012 20:43

Lol, I have 2 dogs and 3 cats, no reason you can't have both, if DH is more of a cat person. but sure, one thing at the time if there are other issues.

jksfii, yes probably, but it's totally normal. I think we all here are guilty of imagining boob soreness and morning sickness.

Pipersouth · 25/09/2012 21:03

Does anyone else do mental pep talks to encourage the swimmers or the eggs!!! I must be going a little teeny bit nuts without even realising I was on the slippery slope oh dear anyone else on the slope?

Rache1S · 25/09/2012 21:06

I have a 9 week old puppy and he's such hard work. I really can't imagine a baby being any harder than he currently is! Soooo cute though Smile

Pipbin · 25/09/2012 21:39

Saw the scans of the lady at work who announced her pregnancy yesterday.
One of the other women I work with who knows I am trying came to me later to ask if I was ok.
This ended with a long conversation about it all.
Turns out that the woman who is pg has been trying for about 2 years.
Which really just goes to show that we think people get pg by sniffing their DHs boxers but it's not always as easy as that. Actually you don't know how many failed attempts there have been.

Anyway, can you lovely ladies have a look at my chart.
I think that I ovd on CD 14, if I take out the first +ive OPK then FF thinks it's CD 15. Have a look here and see what you think

Bunnygirlie · 25/09/2012 22:46

Her girls! Saw my friend today with her 7 week old and everyone was asking how the birth was, I have to say that her description along with horror story of depression was horrid but still hasn't put me off although our other friend due in decembers face was a picture lol

I have one sore boob, does that count? It's a little tender to lie on chest at night :-s

ZombiesAreClammyDodgers · 26/09/2012 02:16

Wow pipbin that is an impressive chart! I wouldn't be able to interpret it to save my life though. So the spike happens after OVing then?
have stopped temping myself.

jksfii · 26/09/2012 11:32

Pipersouth, that is funny I thought I was the only one picturing pink sperm with smiley faces swimming merrily along to my egg!

ZombiesAreClammyDodgers · 26/09/2012 12:08

BFN today but frankly I don't even know if I OVd!

HazleNutt · 26/09/2012 12:49

Zombies according to the list your AF is not even due for a week? Too early to test I would think, so don't take the BFN too seriously.

My Persona monitor has been funny this month so I have no idea either what's going on and when to expect AF, very frustrating.

janey1234 · 26/09/2012 15:03

Zombies - according to the last list I can find, we're due on at about the same time. I hadn't even thought about testing yet - and happily just went out for lunch with a colleague and had sushi and wine. Is that terrible?! For some reason am utterly convinced it won't be good news for me this month, maybe that's why I've not considered it?

Hazle - yours is bound to be all over the place this month I'd imagine. I was still testing positive on a pregnancy test 4 weeks after my mc (admittedly at 12 weeks) so I really wouldn't worry if this cycle is slightly odd. Hormones do strange things to your body!

jks - welcome! In terms of symptom spotting we all LOVE a bit of that, I had every symptom going last month. Hoping yours are actual symptoms though, not some mad figment of your imagination like mine were! Fingers crossed for you. Oh, and don't worry about age. We're mostly elderberry pavlovas here Smile

pipbin - thoroughly impressed with your charting. No idea what any of it means though sorry Blush

bingeddybongo · 26/09/2012 18:16

Evening Elderberries!

I don't know if any of you will be able to help with this but I'll ask anyway :) I've done a bit of wild symptom spotting this week, despite the fact that this is my first cycle and we only started trying on 8th and I've probably only just ovulated. But it sounds like I'm in good company for wild symptom spotting Grin Anyway, on top of the really peculiar cramps and stomach pains (neither at all like the ones I get pre-AF) and lower backache I now have this really odd burning sensation across my pelvis for 24 hours. It feels really odd. I've just had a google which was no help at all; I don't think it's a UTI because for me at least they've always started in the peeing zone. Does anybody have any idea what it might be, please?!!

I do hope I'm not allergic to my husband's unsheathed dongle Confused

Bing

jksfii · 26/09/2012 18:32

Hi Janey1234 thanks for the encouragement. :)

ZombiesAreClammyDodgers · 26/09/2012 19:46

I know I failed the Resist POAS challenge! Sad
Will check again in 7 days. It's so bloody frustrating because of the stupid cycle length. It's a three week wait at least!

ZombiesAreClammyDodgers · 26/09/2012 19:47

bingeddybongo that does sound promising vicarious symptom spotting

bingeddybongo · 26/09/2012 20:07

Hahaha thanks Zombies ;) I'm able to write off the cramps and backache as wishful thinking (or lactose intolerance and sitting badly at my desk) and can probably bring on another couple of symptoms if I focus hard enough, but I'm genuinely confused about the burning thing. I'm mainly hoping it's not an infection but the internet doesn't seem to want to tell me much about burning in that zone apart from when it occurs in late pregnancy... and I definitely don't think I'm there!
