How have the OV sticks been working for you?

I really recommend using Fertility Friend Its great to track your periods, sex and ovulation.

I always swore that I wouldn't be one of those women who take her temperature, but I have done since January, as you can see.

I find it really helps.

It's a free app called my days. The only thing is that before I went on the pill a few months ago my cycle was never regular - anything from 23-27 days or so, so I'm not sure how accurate the app will be... As such I'm using the clear blue digital sticks (planning for this month only to give me a clue when it happens) still waiting for my ...

I'm Cwtching - I'm 32 and married to the lovely H. We've been TTC since February. AF is due tomorrow (if my cycles are sticking to 25 days) - I did a test on Sunday which came back negative so just waiting for it to appear . DH has been diagnosed with varicocele which he's been told may or may not affect his fertility. It's hard not knowing either way - I can't help worrying about it particularly as we've been trying for a while.

October will be cycle 9. I have found the last couple of months a bit hard / upsetting, it can be emotionally draining can't it? I hadn't told anyone in the RW about TTC so I have been bottling it all up a bit. Last week I was chatting to a friend on the phone and it just sort of slipped out into the conversation that we'd been trying with no success. She's such a strong wonderful person (with a baby of her own) and she said with so much feeling how hard a process it is. I had to bite back the tears because it was so great to know that what I was feeling was normal and such a relief to have spoken to someone about it. I feel much more positive now.

I've added myself to the list along with a few who needed including ... appologies if I have any of the info wrong. I also had a stab at putting it in date order - not on a power trip! (I'll be at the bottom tomorrow I'm sure!):

Hello! I'd like to join the 30s thread!

I'm 30 and only just came off the pill on 1st Sept... not sure when that means AF is due. I think it usually takes a while for things to get going again, last time I took a break from the pill I think it took 6 weeks for AF to show up.

Anybody NOT counting? Me and my DP aren't timing anything, just carrying on as normal but without contraception. We don't want any pressure! We realised we're happy as we are for another year or so, but also ready if a littley comes along. So we're waiting to see what happens.

We're not married, not sure how the folks will take it...

Caved this morning and did a test, was so determined to wait but it was calling me from the cupboard! negative, although may be a little early, but as I've no symptoms not hoping much. Roll on the next moth of trying seems like ages away!

Sure you can just have fun and see what happens, caboodles!
If some others here want to get pregnant ASAP though, I would certainly recommend some kind of fertility monitor. Why guess when we have all the technology available to assist us? And really the window is so short, you don't want to miss it just because you were a bit busy or tired for a couple of evenings.

Just ordered a big batch of pregnancy tests although I won't need them for a good few weeks. Better to be prepared though, right?

He was reading and commented that according to the book, there are now more first time mothers in UK in the 30-34 age group than in 25-30. Interesting.

Hello all, can I join you please? We have been TTC sice December, though quite a few cycles since then have been write-offs: it's been a busy work year for both of us which has meant time apart from each other and a couple of months of my cycle going wonky! This month my body is behaving itself so am optimistically on 5dpo, due to test next week in the middle of our holiday.
Oh I am 32, turning 33 next month.

hazle - you've booked a table for your birthday? Surely that's his job . Have you chosen every course already? That's why I usually do - obsess about the menu for weeks in advance only to get there and finds it's changed...

janey sure, he did in fact. We're going there, www.auberge-saintlaurent.fr/ ,the restaurant has an 8-course surprise menu - had it last time I was there, they basically make you small portions of regular dishes on the menu. Was amazing.

My OV is still ages away and cycle probably messed up this month as well. Will see. I have to say that I really knew last time, the symptoms were certainly there, no doubt about it. Fx for you!

As a vetran ttcer I can recommend clear blue fertility monitor and charting on fertility friend.
Chart first before buying the monitor. Also, get the monitor on eBay, much cheaper. I got mine for £30.

Looks lovely hazel - and with eight courses you don't have the dilemma of choosing!

I can recommend charting too - I've got a persona monitor that another MNer has kindly lent me, but haven't started using it yet.

Just did today's clear blue ovulation predictor pee on a stick thing - got my first so guess it's fingers crossed something happens in the next couple of days... Can you tell I'm new to this, getting excited it's going to happen just the second month of trying?!

Think we're going to Thailand for a fortnight in December quod, and am off to Dubai for a few days at the end of Nov which should be fun. Where in France are you off to? I went to the Dordogne in June and loved it!x

Hello. Can I squeeze on this thread too please? I'm 34 , shacked up with long term partner and came off the mini pill on August 12th. Since then no sign of AF, withdrawal bleed or any kind of spotting. Cycle has always been super regular though no periods whilst I was on the pill either so am guessing it will take a while for things to return to normal. Fx for you all!

hazle - we're not sure yet! Been lots of debate over the hol given I might might might be pg... We were planning India but I'm just not sure it's worth risking dodgy tummy and completely exhausting ourselves. So I guess it will depend on our situation - but broadly planning a couple of days in bangkok, some trekking up north near chiang mai, and then a week or so on the islands to the west or Krabi. If pg just Bangkok and beaches?! Any tips? I've travelled to the far east a lot before (Cambodia, Vietnam, Borneo, Indonesia, Malaysia) as my bro used to live in Singapore, but have only been to Thailand once for three days before so am very excited about seeing it properly. All tips gratefully received!xx

Hi Ladies, any room for another? I am so pleased to find this thread full of thirtysomethings all TTC for the first time. I was starting to feel like I was the only one to leave it so late. These days I have to turn the TV up over the sound of my body clock ticking! So far attempt #1 has been a bit of a rollercoaster! I was having mildish cramps, vivid dreams and cold-like symptoms on 1-7dpo and then on days 8-10 I had the most horrendous PMS and broke out in loads of pimples. Then on 10dpo (yesterday) I spotted most of the day. This has now stopped and I don't seem to have any symptoms at all today (11dpo). Usually 4 days before AF I would still be well in the throws of PMS so i'm a bit baffled as to what's going on?! Has anybody else had similar happening while TTC?

Afraid I can't help on your symptoms as I'm usually completely oblivious to my whole cycle, but the spotting could maybe be implantation bleeding maybe?? What does everyone else think? Fingers crossed for you - keep us all updated!x

janey go to Koh Lipe. Gorgeous little island, just one road with restaurants, can spend all your time barefoot. Very relaxing. Or it was a couple of years ago, I certainly hope it has not become too crowded like often happens. If that's the case, there are several similar around there (Muk, Ngai for example)

Guess the trekking would depend on how you feel by Christmas with hopefully morning sickness and all
