I'm really, really hoping that it was a false negative, despite me having absolutely no symptoms of being pg whatsoever.

I'm on day 27 of cycle, usually my cycles are shorter than that, and I bought a cheapie boots one that said it's 99% effective from the day your period is due.

I'm kidding myself, aren't I Sad

ella0 · 01/10/2012 17:04

I'm so sorry pipbin, and to those who have got BFNs (janey, it's not over till af arrives).

Thanks to everyone for the congratulations! :)

janey, I just posted this on another thread about my symptoms:
Symptoms for me this month (because I spent ages scouring the net for them during the 2ww!) were really mild cramps a few days after ovulation, and then mild burning feelings for a couple of days after that. I thought af was on the way yesterday when I had more mild cramps (though I normally get them once af has come). I noticed last night that the cente of my nipples is much paler than the outside (of the nipple, not the areola), so either they've lightened or the ourside has got darker. I also had a slight headache yesterday (I never get headaches) and I felt really tired over the weekend (was travelling though, so thought it was linked to that).

My boobs were sore last month (for the first time ever) but af arrived early. This month, they haven't been sore at all.

This month we used clear blue digital ovulation sticks for the first time. We dtd the day before my smiley (because it was day 14 and I was worried I wouldn't get one and didn't want to miss out), day 15 (smiley day) and the day after (ovulation day), so three days in a row didn't hurt us around ovulation time.

janey1234 · 01/10/2012 17:11

We used ovulation sticks too - I got a smile one afternoon and again the next day, so we must have been DTD at about the right time (like you, three days on the trot!), I just have no symptoms at all (except that I was REALLY tired last week, but I could have just been really tired anyway?!). Having said that when I was accidentally pg last year (mc at 12 weeks in the end) I had no symptoms at all, but just noticed I was a couple of days late and did a test feeling CERTAIN that I wasn't pg, but just wanting to rule it out.
Am soooo hoping it was a false negative, it's such a crushing disappointment...

I was ridiculously emotional this weekend -and do remember crying ALL the time in the first few weeks last time - but then again that could just be usual hormones. Who knows. Still got my fingers crossed!

Very happy for you ella, really am x

ella0 · 01/10/2012 17:14

Fingers crossed for you Janey, and thank you :) .

I've added a photo of my tests to my profile (I hope - new to this!).

janey1234 · 01/10/2012 17:23

ella - it says they're not public. Now, that could just be me being an eejit, or it could be you haven't added them 'properly'. Who knows!

ella0 · 01/10/2012 17:31

I've just changed my settings :)

ella0 · 01/10/2012 17:32

They're tiny though for some reason!

Rache1S · 01/10/2012 19:42

Wow, congratulations Ella that's fantastic news! Well done you! Grin Grin Grin

ella0 · 01/10/2012 20:39

Thank you! My husband just made me do a third (superdrug) test to be sure - still BFP!

bingeddybongo · 01/10/2012 20:44

Sorry to all of you who have been visited by AF or got BFNs :(

...but ella... CONGRATLUATIONS!! That's fantastic news :) Your list of symptoms is identical to mine bar the headache, so I'm trying really hard not to get my hopes up again. And thank you for describing your nipple symptom because you've described exactly what mine are like and I've been getting them out at every available opportunity just to see whether I think they're normally like that or not!! However, I've got really sharp pains in my tummy this evening which don't feel like they can be good - I've been really stressed lately so went for a back/shoulder massage earlier, had no idea that wasn't a good idea (I said I "might" be pregnant and they just said they'd be gentle with me) and so I totally freaked out when I got back and asked google - but, well, I'll suppose we'll see what happens...

Keep hanging on everybody who's waiting for AF not to turn up :)

ella0 · 01/10/2012 21:28

Thank you bing :)

It is sounding really good for you! Fingers crossed - when are you going to test?

Haha, I wasn't sure if my nipples were normally like that or not. Looking back, last month I looked for veiny boobs as I'd read that was a symptom, so I'm thinking that if they are always like that surely I'd have noticed it then.

I'm still getting weird stomach feelings so try no to worry about them. And don't worry about the massage either as if they were gentle it shouldn't be a problem. People who aren't planning a baby do all sorts of stuff before they find out without causing problems.

Scraggyanna · 01/10/2012 21:30

Hello all,

I was wondering if I could join in...?

This was my first month TTC in earnest since stopping the pill in January. I'm 30 and married.

AF is due roughly, approximately, any time now....perhaps! Unfortunately, my cycle has been pretty irregular so it's fairly tricky to track. I feel as though AF might be nearing though, and have had some spotting for the last few days, which, much as I would love to be signifying something else, I'm fairly sure is just AF on it's way!

I've been using the cheap ovulation tests for a couple of months, but cannot fathom whether the line ever gets to the same darkness as the control line or whether it's always a bit lighter despite much studying!

So, I have just bought some of the clear blue tests in the hope that I am intelligent enough to decipher a smiley face Grin .

bingeddybongo · 01/10/2012 21:43

Hi Scraggy, welcome Grin

Thanks for the reassurance, ella, you're totally right. The massage was meant to relax me, after all!! I'm not due on till the weekend but having been regular for ages, my cycle's been getting longer and longer over the last few months, so I'm not exactly sure when AF's meant to appear. I suppose since the test I have says I can test 4 days in advance then Weds at the earliest, if I really can't wait any longer. Eek!

janey1234 · 02/10/2012 09:19

So... No AF still. Another boots cheapie BFN this morning. Is day 28, I usually (pre pill - which I was on for about four months this year, but before that have been off it for about six years so know my natural cycle pretty well) have about a 25 day cycle, but it varied between 23 and 26 days really. It was NEVER 28 days or longer, never. So do I buy a more expensive test, or am I kidding myself? Do you think my cycle could be slightly screwed due to coming off the pill two months ago?

ella - love the pics, and the fact that you've done so many tests so you can actually believe your good news - think I would be exactly the same! Smile

HazleNutt · 02/10/2012 09:23

When I came off the pill, my cycles were all over the place indeed. Maybe give it a couple of days before you test again (I know, almost impossible, isn't it)

janey1234 · 02/10/2012 11:44

I know you're right hazle, it's just so hard not to get your hopes up! Especially as I used the CB ovulation predictor stick things this month too - got a smiley face on the exact day I'd expected... Hey ho....

HazleNutt · 02/10/2012 15:39

Ok I have to stop grabbing my boobs to check for soreness, colleagues starting to look at me funny.

Nelly232 · 02/10/2012 17:03

Hello! Can I join too - I'm new to this.
Nelly, Married - just, 28, ttc cycle 2

janey1234 · 02/10/2012 17:07

Hazle - really made me laugh. I have one sore boob, which is odd, esp given BFN this morning. Maybe I'm half pregnant?!

Nelly - welcome!

HazleNutt · 02/10/2012 17:09

Last month I got sore boobs but was testing negative, took I think 2-3 days before the BFP showed up.

Rache1S · 02/10/2012 18:36

Right ladies, smiley face on the Clear Blue this morning and just DTD (glamorously typing this
lying down with a pillow under my arse while DH is in the shower) so i'm back in the game on the 2WW. Hurry up the 19th!!! :-)

ZombiesAreClammyDodgers · 02/10/2012 19:44

Ah AF is going to strike! Spotting so in the next day or two I hope? Onwards and upwards to the next cycle!

Quodlibet · 02/10/2012 20:03

Alright ladies, I'm back off me hols - congratulations to Ella! And commiserations to all those who've not rolled a six this month.

Bunnie I had the same as you - AF turned up on holiday, arse arse arse.

Anyway, onwards and upwards. Oh, except this month if I want any chance of a crack of the TTC whip, I am going to have to go to Belgium for a couple of days to get anywhere near any sperm, as DP is away during the time I will likely be ovulating. Hard not to feel like this is some sort of cosmic test at times, isn't it?!

On another note does anyone else feel like their AF differs from month to month? I get some months where it seems to be heavier than other months, and some months with sore boobs, some not. Only me?

janey1234 · 02/10/2012 22:01

Quod - welcome back? And belgium's supposed to be nice thus time if year, right? Wink

Zombies - sorry about AF. Went to gym tonight and the old boot decided to join me there. Still, onwards and upwards! Hoping for third time lucky?
