Pipbin, how long was it there? They do vanish after a while.

I have not had the OV symbol on my Persona monitor this month - doesn't mean there has not been one, or isn't one, sometimes it just does not show. Annoying though.

ZombiesAreClammyDodgers · 30/09/2012 09:15

Dreamt AF was in full force. Don't want to POAS again. I know what the answer will be!

ZombiesAreClammyDodgers · 30/09/2012 09:17

Sorry to hear that pipbin. Must have been horrible.

caboodles · 30/09/2012 09:47

Hello ladies, warning, long post:

I lurk most days but haven't posted here for a while... need a second opinion! This is my first month off the pill and if my cycle has gone straight back to normal, AF should be due today or tomorrow. But last wk, from Weds morning onwards I was getting period cramps and brown spotting, and I've been waiting and waiting for AF to appear in full force... but the cramps eased off yesterday and still nothing. I don't normally (if I cast my mind back to the olden days, pre-pill) have 5 days of PMS, usually only 1 or 2. And usually I get very bad cramps, they used to keep me awake - it's why I went on the pill originally. These were mild. Do you think this is a strange response to coming off the pill or a sign I might be pregnant? And is it the case you have to wait until 3 days after AF is due before POAS? I've never done this before... eek Confused

One more question - do you normally tell your DP before you POAS? Because although this is a baby we both want, I feel a bit funny telling my DP and causing him to poo his pants getting his hopes up unnecessarily. If I do a test, I kind of want to do it on my own, is that wierd?

Pipbin · 30/09/2012 10:49

The line was there for less than a minute. Vanished not long after the control line in the second window appeared.
If AF hasn't turned up by the middle of next week then. I'll test again.

Bunnygirlie · 30/09/2012 11:59

Thanks for sympathy ladies, it was not what I wanted especially not on holiday! Hubby says it'll happen one day, I just don't wanna wait too long! It feels like we've been trying for ages but counting it up it's only really been 4 times I've been gutted to see AF which I know isn't long at all but during that 4 months I've had one friend have her second baby, 1 announce she's having her first at Christmas and another tell me she'd having her fourth!!! Grrrr

Caboodles - no I don't tell my other half when POAS as don't want two of us to be gutted!

Good luck all those POAS soon!

Quick question, anybody use any special lube? We need to use something but the one we use says may slow down the wrigglers so I was tempted to buy conceive plus I think it's called?

OP posts:
HazleNutt · 30/09/2012 12:13

we're not using lube exactly for the reason that it can apparently seriously inhibit conception. If you need something, definitely get the Conceive plus, Pre-Seed or other similar fertility-friendly ones.

I haven't told DH when I'm about to POAS either.

caboodles · 30/09/2012 13:12

Thanks bunnygirlie. Sorry AF turned up on holiday, that's crap.

Guess it's a bit naiive to think things could be happening only on our first month... I promised myself I wouldn't start symptom spotting but here I am... Serious respect to those of you who've been doing this for a while, it's going to drive me loopy I think!

Good luck everyone! And Pipbin fingers crossed for next week, your test sounded really frustrating.

janey1234 · 30/09/2012 13:32

Bunny - we don't usually use one but bought conceive plus this month as someone told me (ie I read somewhere online in my obsessive research!) that it helps the swimmers get further and stick around longer. AF due tomorrow or tues so yet to POAS so can't tell you if it worked. Absolutely no symptoms thus month though so I don't think so...Sad

ella0 · 30/09/2012 17:27

Sorry to those who AF got.

Pipbin AF hasn't arrived here yet, and for the past couple of months she had arrived by now. I'll test tomorrow morning if she hasn't arrived by then. I'm not too hopeful though as my weird feelings stopped a good few days ago and I had pre af feelings for a few seconds half hr ago.

I hate this time of the month. I dread going to the loo.

Pipbin · 30/09/2012 19:38

Me too. I think if I don't see the spotting then it won't happen.

janey1234 · 30/09/2012 22:55

I'm also getting the fear every time I go to the loo now! Tuesday is day 28... My cycles are usually between 24&27.... Absolutely symptom free though so not getting hopes up. Good luck to everyone POAS this week!Smile

bingeddybongo · 01/10/2012 06:22

Sorry to those of you who've been done over by AF :(

Ella I feel just the same as you, my hopes went right up last week and then DH talked me out of it completely because it is totally ridiculous to think that I might conceive first time round. And I haven't had any symptoms since. I didn't test yesterday because I realised it was far too early and although the test I've got says I can take it 4 days pre AF, I think I'm going to wait as long as possible though because I don't really want to have to do it during the week and have to go straight to work feeling totally disappointed! In any case, DH is off on business during my next OV so although I'm desperate to get on with ttc at least I won't have to go through all this symptom spotting again for a while!!

Am rooting for those of you still waiting :)

ella0 · 01/10/2012 06:35

I've just got my BFP!!!!!

Tested on a First Response and then a Clear Blue digital which showed Pregnant 1-2 weeks!

Will post pics later.

I still can't believe it, fingers crossed for a sticky one.

Fingers crossed for everyone else, and good luck bing.

janey1234 · 01/10/2012 07:03

Oh Ella that's amazing news, massive congratulations Grin

Right maybe I will test later. Trying not to get my hopes up!

Did you have any symptoms Ella?

Congrats again - a out time we got another BFP in our little group x Smile

HazleNutt · 01/10/2012 07:44

Congratulations! So exciting!

ZombiesAreClammyDodgers · 01/10/2012 07:47

Congratulations Ella! A summer baby then hopefully Smile

In other news, got my expected but still disappointing BFN this morning.

Lolcbcblemonlime · 01/10/2012 08:17

Congrats Ella. Bollocks to other bfn. Sad

HazleNutt · 01/10/2012 08:45

From my side, didn't get the OV symbol on the monitor this month (and done with testing), so don't know if and when it happened. Monitor has been showing red (risk of getting pregnant) since the AF though. But don't feel pregnant, last month felt funny pretty much immediately. So not getting the hopes up from my side..
Ah well, all the shagging is certainly good for the relationship Smile

janey1234 · 01/10/2012 09:05

I'm sorry zombies. Finally caved in this morning and decided to POAS, BFN for me too Sad

HazleNutt · 01/10/2012 09:31

Oh sorry Zombies and Janey - still hope though until AF shows up.

Pipbin · 01/10/2012 13:01

Congratulation Ella looks like you won our sticks at dawn battle.
AF is here.
Onwards to cycle 14.
I've decided to make a real effort this month. Eating well, exercise and DTD every other day.

HazleNutt · 01/10/2012 13:07

Sorry Pipbin. You know they recommend DTD every day now, apparently improves the quality of the swimmers.
It's symptom spotting time for me, can definitely imagine have sore boobs and some back pain. Which of course does not mean anything, as unless the OV was significantly earlier, I would not have any symptoms yet. The power of wishful thinking..

Bunnygirlie · 01/10/2012 13:23

Congrats Ella you lucky bugger ;-)

My doctor said don't DTD too often as the sperm can get tired, all this conflicting info is so confusing!

Off to order some conceive plus then.....

OP posts:
HazleNutt · 01/10/2012 13:35

There is a study here news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/8125934.stm claiming that while yes, the number of swimmers goes down if DTD every day, it does improve the quality. So unless the man has low sperm count, daily might be a better option. In real life, there's probably little difference, if any, between daily and every other day.
