Having recommended this fab little gadget for everyone ttc I wonder whether everyone who has now got one wants to join a thread and keep each other posted on our fern days etc?!

About me: Am ttc db2 but still bfeeding dd (9mths) about once a day. No af since giving birth so no idea if ovulating etc but have just started using my isis scope :o

hi bobblehead, been off line. ttc since december (although a couple of months i know we timed it wrong - or maybe trying to convince myself that way) but no luck yet...and beginning to worry but trying not to.

I'm so excited I finally had some ferns!!! Grin I know it's not anywhere near as exciting as a bfp but it's a start, first time I've seen them since I got the damned thing. Only a few in among the blobs, but they were there two days running. Have been making hubby bd all week, he's not complaining tho. Wink

I must get myself one of these gadgets! We're meant to be letting nature take it's course but I'm fascinated about what my cycle is or isn't doing since having DS! And I love gadgets. DH has just bought a PSP so I think I'm entitled to purchase a licky ferny thing! Grin How long do they take to arrive from access diagnostics? I've got a persona so I guess I could go back to using that too but since I'm having weird cycles post DS it might be harder to interpret what it's telling me.

I haven't read the whole thread - has anyone got a BPF while using one of these?

Having recently joined this site, I've read the whole of this thread, gone and purchased this scope, and am now worried! I'm on day 13 of a 28 day cycle, have been using scope correctly since it arrived on day 9, and have nothing but blobs! I would normally take my cm today to be an indicator that I was ovulating but after no change on the scope whatsoever, and now worried that maybe I'm not. I'm pretty much a 28 regular cycle, but have noticed over the past 9 months that my period is getting shorter - it's now only 2 days. Does this mean anything?
Can you also tell me how to view buffy's fern pictures?!? I'm intrigued, and hope they will show me what I'm looking for on my own scop!Thanks all.

Are you using saliva from underneath your tongue sub lingual, I never got ferns til then
Leave the microscope out to air dry?

Until today was just using the 'licking' method. Tried the sublingual method today, but still just blobs! I do leave it to air dry before placing it in the scope. Will keep going. Maybe its that I'm a 'late ovulator' and that's part of the reason both my children were born late?!?!? Or maybe I'm just clutching at straws!!

had ferns yesterday at dinner time,lots of them.not had any since!are you meant to get ferns before ovulating?after or during or for the whole duration of ovulation?

I think you should get them before and during (maybe even after?) but tbh I I'm not sure how much I trust my scope these days! I've been trying it around 3 times a day some days and am more likely to get ferns at night for some reason. Then again I don't really know where I am ovulation wise yet so could just be my body! I've tried using it straight after brushing teeth and eating too to see if that affects it and I can't say I noticed much difference. Perhaps the levels of hormone vary throughout the day? Sorry to not be much help!

Now I'm confused - after my fern excitement, af was due couple of weeks ago, turned up a wee bit late and was a bit pathetic to say the least, only lasted a day or so. That was beginning of last week and now I have lots of ferns already, way more than I got before. Help!! Any advice?

Have you taken a test mrsbilly? Your AF could have been light ue to pregnancy perhaps?

Just rying my microscope now to see if pregnancy causes ferning... will report back in 20 mins.

Did a test when af was late and it was negative. A friend at work today says I should maybe do another one because from what she understands about the licky scope (as we call it) it shows hormonal changes and obviously pregnancy is that. I've been very weepy for the last few days but just the odd spotting as far as af goes. Sorry for tmi but that has changed colour today from kind of mucky brown to pinky red. Am going to wait a couple of days and see if I get more ferns before testing again. I'm very emotional just now anyway baby would have been due 28th June Sad and was kind of hoping to be pregnant again by now. After all, they reckon it's supposed to be easy to get preg after m/c. At what stage does that not apply any more?

hugs MrsBilly. TBH, I think that fertile after mc might have a little truth, but not a lot. So don't hold too much by it. If your AF doesn't appear in another couple of days I would test again. Hopeing it's a BFP sent by your angel for you.

Got a BFP on Thursday night!!!! don't know why, but something made me test and it came up straight away. Had a bit of a flap cos of the spotting over last couple of weeks but went to A&E and they made me appt for scan at EPADS this morning. Scan shows a pea sized thing with a heartbeat, I just burst into tears. They reckon it's 6 wks and 3 days old. I also have a cyst on one of my ovaries but they said that's quite common and should clear up by 12 week scan, and that may have been what was bleeding. I'm so happy I could bust! The only ferns I've had were obviously caused by my preg hormones... Anyway, had to share the news. I think I'm having a lucky run as also just got a fab new job, and they don't mind that I'm pregnant, so I'm passing on luck to everyone else x x x

hi all. I stopped using scope in april. too stressful. Got BFP today!!!!
DH2B doesn't know yet. Am shaking like a leaf. guess due end feb 07 but cycles about 45 days since finsihing bf so goodness knows! there will be 20 mths between dd and db2! I must be mad. But deleriously happy!

Ooooh congratulations!
You timed it very well then- married before morning sickness/getting bigger sets in! Are you glad you didn't conceive when your dd was 9 months now? I knid of look back and think "what was I thinking"?! Now would be a really nice time though.....
I too have shelved my scope. CM seems a much more reliable indicater. Noticed last mobths the ferns had nearly gone by the time I had real ewcm and ov pains. By then dh was too tired to bd and 14 days later I get af so fairly sure I'll spot ov on my own now, albeit alot later on in the cycle than it used to be (cd21 of 35 day cycle, so long to wait!).

ive stopped licking,i was getting blobs most of the time but ferns around tea time!even when i shouldnt have been obulating!!so ive given up on it!!

feeling abit iffy today,af 3 days late but im not getting my hopes up just yet!

fingers crossed for the next scope bfp though!!

has anyone else had any luck?

I have given up with scope too, just sort of lick now and again just to see. Try it different times of day and after eating, etc just to see why you're not meant too! Night time also equals more ferns for me, not sure what thats all about. Found a new fun use for ot though- watching dh's little swimmers! You can just make out the little guys swimming about under there, way more exciting than ferns!
