Aiming for August 2012 BFP!!

Hi ladies,

For those of us out of the July game there are not many places to hide so I thought I'd start a new August thread to give us all some positive vibes!

Cycle 3 - BFP August 6th

They're the ones I'm using aufaniae. I've had a couple of very faint lines the last 2 days but I might be reading the result after too long.

Do you think they're hard to read then? Would you recommend them?

If I'm right about my cycle dates (which I may well not be as I haven't been keeping track at all, recently - until this thread) then I reckon I'll ovulate next Sunday, as it's 14 days before day one of next cycle due.

It'll be interesting to see if that's right.

So how long before ovulation do you start DTD with intent then?

I guess so. As this is my first cycle and I'm not sure if/when I'm going to ovulate, I'm happy to start off with the cheap ones as I may get through a few!

Am interested in how everyone keeps things interesting IYKWIM when DTD EOD? We've been trying to go for every day (pre TTC would prob be about once a week) and already I can't be arsed it's beginning to feel like a chore and DH says his willy is sore is needing encouragement.

The opk conversation as far as I've tried ive used cheep line readers and the digi ones and ofcourse the digi ones are better in that there's no confusion but I've never had a problem with not getting a + ive on cheep ( queen-I get a line everyday I test, that's not uncommon it's only positive when it is darker or the same colour as the test line, when it happens you will see the difference! ) maybe buy the expensive and cheep and use them at the same time for cycle one just to see if they both give the same results and to give you piece of mind your doing and reading it right? I used to have one pack of digi and then use cheep til I thought yes then just check with the digi if I got a with that aswell

Queen as for keeping it interesting - I think it can get abit well we " have" to do it today but I find we always enjoy it once we get started and try different positions or places like a quickie on the sofa, after trying for a long time first time I must admit we had gone down to literally just dtd for 2 days around ov at times ( btw- I did get pg like that!)

I think eod is ample to keep it up and have a break imbetween, I'd only do every day if I'd got a +opk that day then do it the next day aswel

Am going to try without using ovulation sticks initially - not sure I fancy testing my wee every morning!! But that could all change if TTC doesn't happen straightaway...

I am using the cheapie amazon sticks too to start and hopefully at some point will get a darker line. I also have the CB digi monitor too incase there is an ambiguos line. I have pretty irregular cycle so using the cheapies to save money as could be going for a while. Does anyone know if your diet or anything can a affect these? I am just finishing a detox and was wondering?

Hello everyone! I am dipping my toe in the August thread as next AF due end July/ start Aug depending on Ov date. Cycles have varied from 25-31 days ish.

Recognise a few 'faces'! We are TTC#1 I had my mirena out in Jan and in March decided to see what happens so we are now on 5th cycle. Did have a MC at 6 weeks in June so we more or less had a month off after but now ready to try again.

I have just started using some cheapy Ov sticks from eBay, not sure I hold much hope on them, they are thinner than a matchstick!! Anyway my CM appears fairly reliable, pretty sure I Ov on the last day I see EWCM as AF arrives 14 days later.

I will enter my stats once I know what length of cycle I'm likely to have :)

I'm on cycle #2 and expecting my BFP on August 7th.

Not charting or anything yet, just looking out for cm and think I'm gonna ov round about the 23rd.
This will be monster number 3 for us and my other 2 monsters were both conceived in the first month. Hoping this one won't take too long :)

I have used OPK in the past but the main problem I have is that in one month I ovulated on CD12 then the following month I ovulated on CD 29/30. It means that the cheapies are the only option for me (plus I am outside UK in a country where such things are difficult to get hold of and amazon don't deliver here!) so now I have kinda given up on using them. The EOD method is also a struggle when the window is potentially 3 weeks, it's just too much!! So this month I am trying to relax DTD when we want/when CM is EW, and I have now told myself that I would like to be pregnant this time next year (obviously preferably about to drop, but if not then hey ho) rather than telling myself I want to be pregnant right now, as the pressure/ roller coaster of emotions is just unbearable.

Now lets take bets on how many days it takes me to start behaving like a woman possessed and the whole of the above goes flying out of the window

Only when TTC does a conversation run like the following;
Frustrated: I feel sick
Mr F: are you pregnant?
Frustrated: no, it's too early anyway
Mr F: how do you know you might be
Frustrated: because I'm not due to O until tomorrow

Since when did conversations in my house sound like this? Please tell me it's not just me?

Hi all. Joining from July thread, ttc #1 cycle 6 BFP due11/12 August, age 29. Anyone know how to copy paste on a galaxy tab?

Definitely upping the ante this month. Told DH we must dtd eod or else! Plus i am going to start the 30 day shred to lose some weight and cut out the mid week glass of wine!

4 friends are expecting! All conceived month1 lucky people!

I am also on the clearblue trial, this will be next month now. Hopefully i won't need it!

I'm using the one step sticks too and get a very faint line normally but today line looks a lottle darker but not darker than the contral. Does anyone know if they gradually get darker when you're coming up to ov and then a big fat strong line on the big day? Very irregular cycles so really don't want to miss it!

frustrated pants - i know what you mean dh knows far too much about my cyle to be healthy, take sthe romance out of things but at least you're open with each other!

Is a lottle a mixture of alot and a little to be in between??
I think they do go darker, if it's the cheep ones I'd maybe do another later or in between when you do them just to check but it should be as dark or darker for a positive

doh - supposed to say little! Trying to do them twice a day but what with the 4 hours no drinking/going to toilet before makes it pretty hard going - will get dehydrated at this rate! Will keep going with the sticks and hopefully at some point will show a positive for ov - who knows when the hell that might be! So frustrating having an irregular cycle and never knowing what's going on!

Ok my TTC madness has officially started! Even though we aren't officially starting to try until the next cycle am feeling queasy and now convinced I have early morning sickness!!

Zeuxippe ? I'm not sure if you know my history but I'm currently on CD39 of my previous cycle and have no idea if AF will arrive (she's about a week late). So I'm dusting myself off and telling myself that AF didn't arrive last month and it's a new cycle.

So therefore I cant add myself to the list as I don't really have any idea of whats going on!
