Can I join please?

I got a BFN this morning, even though AF isn't due for two days, but I'm already getting the stained CM that I get when AF is on its way... Sad

I'm 38 and this was our 3rd month of TTC for #2. Had DD when I was 34. Got PG first month of trying, had an early MC and then was PG again 6 weeks later. So I'm a bit gutted that it hasn't happened yet and I feel like we're running out of time. DH didn't want another baby, by the time he changed his mind I'd changed mine and now finally we're both on the same page!

I've also started a thread about whether I may have PCOS... I just don't know.

I just don't want to be in this alone... Sad

Newbie2 · 12/07/2012 14:52

Welcome! Sorry what's PCOS?

OP posts:
Newbie2 · 12/07/2012 14:53

Oh and Katniss you're not alone on here. We are all as mad TTC as each other :)

OP posts:
Katnisscupcake · 12/07/2012 15:02

Thanks Newbie, PCOS is Polycystic Ovary Syndrome... I don't know much about it but with bad skin for many years and slightly irregular cycles, aswell as losing quite a bit of hair, I'm wondering if it might be an issue for me.

Newbie2 · 12/07/2012 15:06

Oh Katniss that sounds really hard going. Whenever I don't know what's wrong me I feel really lousy and frustrated so it must be a challenging time for you. I guess you've seen a GP to discuss testing etc?

OP posts:
Katnisscupcake · 12/07/2012 15:33

Newbie, not yet as I only thought about it today... I'm going to make an appointment though and see what the GP says. Confused

Newbie2 · 12/07/2012 15:37

Katniss since you've fallen pregnant before (quickly) I would imagine that you're fine and just over worrying because you're older (so much pressure in the media about eggs decreasing etc). They say worrying stops you conceiving early...what can you do! :)

babyjames · 12/07/2012 18:00

Hi everyone. This thread is moving fast!
Newbie not sure if you have mixed me up on the list or if I'm not on it yet.
I'm : Babyjames Cycle # 4 BFP due 10th Aug

Someone kind from Mumsnet has posted me some Ovulation sticks so going to give them a go this month and I've just started EPO too. Hoping this is our lucky month :)

frustratedpants · 12/07/2012 18:45

Hi, can I join please. Cycle 2 (but not sure 1st counts as came off coil) bfp due 1st August. (if I get a bfn I'll move onto cycle 3 and bfp due 29th August.- can I join twice? Grin )

SunshineOutdoors · 12/07/2012 19:27

Hi everyone! Finding it hard to catch up as am back at work following maternity leave. Only for a couple of weeks then I'm off again. I'm only staying for a bit to be able to keep my maternity pay then I'm luckily able to be a sahm. Really want to be a mum of two soon.

I'll try and keep track of everyone but looking forward to a couple of weeks time when I can get to know everyone again properly!

Does anyone else chart their temp? I want to try this before opk sticks. I shagged like crazy last month but think I stopped too early Grin will attempt same this month but keep going for a week after temp change to be sure.

So tired at the moment finding it hard to fit any in. Is anyone coming up to ov time soon-ish? Early aug testers must be at it soon?

SunshineOutdoors · 12/07/2012 19:30

Oops just read a little and seen you've already talked about temps Blush

WhenSheWasBadSheWasHorrid · 12/07/2012 20:05

Hi katnis and frustrated (love the name).

You are not alone kat, I am ttc no 2 our dd is 17 months old and this will be our 4th cycle. We conceived dd on cycle 6. I am younger 33 but still worry about declining fertility, I have no real reason to am just a worrier.

Your symptoms do sound a little bit like pcos, prob best seeing your GP. I have heard good things about Angus castus regulating cycles, it might be worth looking into.

Best of luck both of you.

WhenSheWasBadSheWasHorrid · 12/07/2012 20:12

sunshine (waves) I am using opks, 17 month old dd is a dreadful sleeper so that kind of ruins any temping plans. V jealous of you becoming a sahm although I am home alone with dd for 3 weeks in August so might want to go back to work for a rest after that

Af is due tomorrow and I can feel her settling in to my lower back as we speak (I thought period pains were meant to improve after you've given birth).

threeleftfeet · 12/07/2012 23:48

Hey sunshine, I would be taking temps if I could remember what I did with the fertility thermometer! Can you get them from the chemist I wonder? Too late to get a Drs appointment for this cycle I think.

letsdothisthing · 13/07/2012 08:02

Hi everyone, I'm on the TTC first baby thread to test on the last day of July but think that was being optimistic because I'm not actually due to ov until approx July 20th and then think I have a fairly long LP -16 days! Will see how it goes but may be testing anywhere from 31st July - 5th August!

Have been takin fa, EPO, opk's and started temping obsessed me, never!!!

SunshineOutdoors · 13/07/2012 08:20

Hi whenshewas in the nicest possible way I'm sorry to see you here. Any chance you're wrong about af?

SunshineOutdoors · 13/07/2012 12:29

Aufaniae I got my thermometer from amazon. It came pretty quickly I think.

resipsa · 13/07/2012 13:33

My turn to join in. AF arrived today, 3 days before her time! Need to be lifted out of CD1 gloom...
Have never been early before (29 day cycle last month as a result which is the first time I remember it being less than 30 days) so all a bit odd. Worried cause I read that as you get older, your egg quality diminishes and "rotten" eggs break down early hence early bleeding. Assume this is just part of CD1 gloom and I will scoff at the analysis by CD 10!

Zeuxippe · 13/07/2012 13:35

This is cycle 1 for me, we are trying to conceive #2. Not sure whether all the pill-popping will work but DD1 was a happy accident so am a bit nervous about actually planning it this time!! Waiting until August to start trying, for complicated financial reasons! Then aiming for the EOD method...

Zeuxippe · 13/07/2012 13:37

resispsa sorry you're feeling down - hope this is your month

resipsa · 13/07/2012 13:48

Thanks Zeux. I need a kick up the a**e, probably.
BTW, for the stats - TTC#2- cycle 3 - BFP who knows after last month? Guess at 13 August!

SunshineOutdoors · 13/07/2012 16:50

Hi resipsa sorry af got you. Try not to read too much into cycle length. I think as soon as we start watching our cycles they go all weird. Loads of people here have had odd cycles... too long or too short. Even if your reasoning is right, your body knows and is getting rid to make a fresh, perfect one, ready to be fertilised this month!

Cd 1's shit.... indulge yourself then give it a few days and you'll be raring to go again!

HariboHeaven · 13/07/2012 17:21

Can I join? I am getting the hump with all this ttc mullarky quite frankly and I hope that some of you lovely ladies can understand my woes. Now we have been trying to conceive since february. My cycles are completely messed up. Since I have actually been tracking them (last october) they have been 42, 40, 38, 28 (??!!), 43, 34 and 45......... hhhhhmmmmmmm it's not looking good so far is it?! I came off the pill in August last year. Today is CD 11

We are ttc number 1 and we are now in to cycle 5. As you can see from the above, I have absolutely no idea when my next AF is due. Oh the joys Smile

I can relate to so many of you ladies with symptom spotting and all that jazz... seriously, I have questioned my sanity soooo many times over the last few months. I swear I used to be a normal person.

I have been a lurker on MN for a couple of months and just suddenly thought what the hell, might as well join. So here I am.

frustratedpants · 13/07/2012 17:43
