hey ladies,

There are a few of us who are ttc after mc's, however there will be ladies out there who are also ttc for the first time or second or third without success. If anyone is on, considering or had success on a super ovulation programme then do join us. How long did it take ? Did you try IUI with it.. ? Did you have PCOS?

Kicking this off and hoping some of you will join....

Duggs - depending on whether we decide to keep trying or not after seeing Mr S next Saturday, I am up for meeting up in October x

jaffajiffy · 15/09/2012 15:15

Hi duggs count me in for oct 27 if it's not too hard having a pg one around assuming I've not mc? Honestly won't mind if the meet up is for people still waiting.

kittens my FMC nuchal is now on wed 26 at 12pm so we can do cvs and get the result Friday if necessary. Nhs one on friday 28.

Havingkittens · 15/09/2012 16:33

Exactly the same as me jaffa so we will probably meet at FMC! She's also booked me in for 12.00 and said call an hour before. Do you still have to wait a couple of days for the CVS result then? That was kind one of the main points of paying all that money, to avoid that agonising wait. Hmmmm.

jaffajiffy · 15/09/2012 21:54

V pleased I'll meet a fellow super OVer! We will have to note what we are wearing. Yes she confirmed results are 'usually' available Friday. They also do cvs on Mondays.

holldoll · 16/09/2012 08:36

Hi all, I wondered if could get some advice. Just had 2nd iui with 100mg clomid, and ovitrelle. I had 2 questions, have any if you ever bled at ovulation? I had a lot of pain and fresh spotting following ovitrelle. I assume it was just egg being released but never had this before.
The other question was how long does ovitrelle stay in system for? Internet says various things and I'm on steroids so don't want to be on them too long if cycle failed.
Thanks in advance and it's good to see some positive outcomes on here

Pebbles73 · 16/09/2012 10:25

Hi Holldoll not sure if this is any help but I am on letrezole and ovitrelle and last month I spotted (well a but more than spotting) for the entire cycle. This month I have spotted on and off through to cd21, I knows with letrezole it can be one of the side effects so maybe the same fur clomid? Good luck and hope you get your bfp.

jaffajiffy · 16/09/2012 11:14

Hi holldoll each of my months on the super OV treatment there was a lot more action on the ovaries and uterus. I didn't have sharp pain but there was someone on here with such pain she rang A&E one time, but it's all normal on the treatment.

jaffajiffy · 16/09/2012 11:16

And ovitrelle seems to be around for 10d. I tested +ve 14d after ovitrelle and my doc was still suspicious (came up as 2-3 weeks pg) and said to test again. I was actually pg though. I'd say 12- 14d is safe though the sites I read noted 10d.

holldoll · 16/09/2012 17:36

Thank you for all your replies, congrats Jaffa. I forgot to ask the clinic, difficult when your legs are in the air following the procedure!

Mel3062 · 17/09/2012 06:14

Well got bfn Thurs so stopped pred. Af due tomorrow I'm
Cd 28 today so at least it's not v early like last month. Has anyone had neg then missed af and got a positive nearer the time? Just clutching at straws really esp as I did a first response :/
Have a good day ladies xx

Havingkittens · 17/09/2012 11:49

jaffa, yes it will be nice to meet you. Although I suspect I won't be at my chattiest as I will be in a state of high anxiety!

Arianrhod · 17/09/2012 14:14

holl Like pebbles I have found I have spotting going on well past when my AF would usually end, thanks to the Letrozole. Mr S doesn't seem bothered about it, so I'm assuming all is well.

mel Sorry for your BFN, and you know, anything is posssible in this game, I give up trying to predict anything!

kittens I'm actually crossing everything that's physically possible to cross for your nuchal scan; I so hope this one is great! You know what they say - third time's the charm. Let's hope so in this case!

And jaffa doubling up with crossing appendages for your scan too. Lord it seems such a long time till the two of yours scans, I want to know the news now and they're not even my babies!!!

abney How are things with you, assuming you're still reading on here?

Well, finally managed to drag OH back to TDL to get the last blood tests done (DQa, LAD and karyotyping), him with much muttering and grumbling, only 3 months or so after we were supposed to get it done! He did say in a surprised voice last week, when I reminded him we were supposed to be going this morning, "oh are we still going to do that?". He'd obviously decided that since we're on our 5th SO cycle that we weren't going to bother with the tests, since he's pretty much decided we're going back to "if it happens, then it does, and if not that's fine" after SO stops. Bl**dy hell, it seems I really am the only one who is bothering putting any effort into this. I think he's written it off entirely, he thinks (along with the rest of the world I suspect) that I'm just too old and it will never happen. Nice optimism, I must say.

And just for info, I decided I'd try 10mg pred from ov to see what happens. Surely it must do something to reduce my NK cells, even if it doesn't zap them all, and surely that must be better than nothing? It isn't interrupting my sleep, so that's a bonus, and I'm crossing whatever fingers I have left that it isn't going to disrupt my AFs/fertility but only time will tell. Who knows, perhaps OH is right and I'm just wasting my time.

jaffajiffy · 17/09/2012 14:56

kittens let's just say hello beforehand and then update via the thread later on. It will be a fraught day for us both.

Thanks for crossing for us, ari!

Havingkittens · 17/09/2012 15:06

Sounds like a good plan jaffa. I'm quite easy to spot as I have a white streak in my hair (and probably white knuckles to match on that day!)

I have a scan at NLC tomorrow, my booking in appointment on Saturday, Nuchal on Wednesday, NHS Nuchal 2 days later (if they let me have a scan - not sure whether to discuss with midwife at booking in or just play innocent and turn up on the day to get an extra scan), then hopefully intralipids early the following week. Blimey, what a busy couple of weeks! Jaffa, what are you going to do about your second Nuchal? Obviously I don't need them to do an actual Nuchal scan if I've had it all done at FMC but it would be good to have a look and see if all's well after CVS. Maybe I should ask them at FMC if there's any risk of them prodding about with my belly so soon after a CVS.

Ari, your OH sounds very frustrating. As if you don't have enough obstacles to deal with. I'm sorry he's being such an ass! (I mean that in the donkey sense but take it as you will Wink)

Abney · 17/09/2012 17:54

Hi Ari I am fine thanks. I should be 6 weeks tomorrow. Still scared stiff everytime I go to loo but I know I just need to remain positive. Even if it works out I wouldn't stop reading the posts as I would like to see other people's success stories and will them on to succeed.

Havingkittens good luck for tomorrow. I hope all goes well.

Jaffa hope all goes well for you too.

duggs1976 · 17/09/2012 18:59

ari must admit 10mg pred is exactly what I've been prescribed by dr dimitrioius at the London women's clinic apparently there is a school of through at the ARGC and other places this is all that I'd required in run up and can increase once pregnant and/or intrallipids if necessary do do have faith in this method you've adopted.

Pebbles73 · 17/09/2012 22:27

Mel I agree with Ari it is impossible to predict anything!! Hoping af doesn't turn up for you but if it does onwards and upwards to the next round.

Sorry your oh isn't being as supportive as he could be, great you have the tests done now and will be watching intrestedly for the results. How long do you have to wait?
I think you should keep going until you know you are ready to give up and be at peace with yourself (apologies for the cheese!) that you did everything you could.

Good luck for tomorrow kittens & jaffa, all crossed for you.

I am coming up to a year now since my miscarriage, if anyone had told me then I still wouldn't be pregnant I would have been in complete despair! Can't believe how quickly time passes and with my 39th birthday this weekend could really do with it slowing down! I just want to be able to look into the future and know if I will ever get another elusive bfp.....

Does anyone find the pred gives them indigestion? Haven't had any for a little while, in fact never got it until I started on the metformin in December. It all calmed down eventually though so wondering if it is the pred.

Arianrhod · 18/09/2012 09:36

Thanks pebbles, and I know what you mean about time passing so darn fast. I also wish wholeheartedly for some glimpse into the future, so I could at least either stop or take heart!

Pred is well known to give indigestion, yes - which is why they advise to take omeprazole with it, to stop that. Cue the rolling eyes of choccy if she's ever reading this thread, since she and I were given a lecture by Louise (seems so long ago now!) about the necessity of taking omeprazole. Which I still mostly haven't Grin

Arianrhod · 18/09/2012 09:38

duggs Thanks for that - I'm not sure, as I say, whether 10mg will go anywhere near to touching my VHNK cells, but I figure it's better than nothing and perhaps it won't mess up my cycles/fertility as much as the 25mg was. Well, I can hope :) How are things coming along for you, where are you at right now?

Havingkittens · 18/09/2012 11:41

Pebbles, I don't think I could've coped without the Omeprazole. Pred gives me absolutely hideous indigestion, heartburn, bloating etc. Omeprazole has made quite a big difference. At one point I was even doubling up my dose and taking 40mg a day, on instruction from Louise.

I'm happy to say my scan went well. Measuring 10+4 (a day ahead now of what I was, but I guess that will fluctuate a bit over the next few weeks) and heart beat of 165. So, just next week to get through now. Jaffa, Mr S said that I should cancel my NHS Nuchal if I'm going to FMC.

Arianrhod · 18/09/2012 11:49

And another Woohoo kittens, brilliant scan result!

duggs1976 · 18/09/2012 14:26

hey great news kittens.... you are over the worst of the waiting.

Arian well I am actually having a frozen embryo transfer tomorrow if the embryo survives the thawing. Not sure it will work tbh as last one didn't last.. but my nk cells are down and infections gone so crossing fingers.

Seem to have lost track on here who is on which SO cycle?

Arianrhod · 18/09/2012 14:46

Oh good luck for tomorrow then duggs ... well your OH's boys are now better quality, right, so surely that must mean you're back in with a good chance?? Fingers crossed!

I'm on SO cycle 5, and crossing fingers that 5 is the magic number for 5, taking kittens firmly as my role model!! :)

Arianrhod · 18/09/2012 15:15

I meant, of course, crossing fingers that 5 is the magic number for ME, not for 5. And I didn't even see I'd typed that until just now.

duggs1976 · 18/09/2012 15:47

...well this embryo was frozen back in April..so although chromsonally tested still might have some dogey something in there. It was our only frozen one so thought may as well give it a go.

Fingers fimley crossed for the magic 5.. don't like seeing any SO ers getting to 6 without a BFP.. so lets hope.. x
