Right I'm going to be bold and start a new thread to drum up some energy for anyone ttc a Jan / Feb / Spring 2013 baby.

Does anyone want to join me on this flight?

Morning everyone. Is Crazy around? I'm sure she was due about now. And Blackcats? Hope all is well with you ladies.

Pipbin, looking good. FX temps remain high over the next few days.

Not much to happening here, temp is now staying low so shag week continues. At least DH is around this week although we are both so knackered it is hard to muster up the energy Blush.

X post Blackcats. So sorry to hear AF has got you too Sad. Don't give up hope just yet, lots of women have been in your position and gone on to have children, it is likely to take longer after all. I've never heard of rebound fertility what is that?

OP posts:
blackcatsdancing · 22/05/2012 09:59

thanks limeleaf. I'm going to do some overtime today , doing something physical which will hopefully wear me out and keep my mind off this rubbish.

rebound fertility- some sources say you're more likely to conceive after coming off pill /soon after a MC ( i got pregnant 2nd month of coming off pill but could be coincidental- acupuncturist said it can take some women months for their hormones to normalise enough to conceive so not sure about the validity of that) I've read some clinics stick their clients on the pill for a couple of months but sounds dodgy to me as you can't predict how a person's body will respond. obviously i'm concerned that I only got pregnant due to 'rebound' fertility and am now doomed. Also rebound fertility after MC, again I think this is spurious and there was a short discussion recently on MN about it with women split 50-50 on believing/ disbelief. Its all just adds to the pressure which really isn't helpful. There are other things re windows of opportunity but i'll keep them to myself as none of it is helpful.

blackcatsdancing · 22/05/2012 10:01

plus i did have day 2/3 hormones checked and they were fine so i really don't need to fill my head with extra worries.

Crazytictac · 22/05/2012 11:18

Still no AF which is really bugging me now as I'm not pregnant did another Internet cheapie and BFN. It was 2 weeks ago on Sunday that my fertility monitor showed peak reading so classed ovulation as Mon. Just hope it's not going to be a mammoth weird cycle like I had a couple of months ago.

I'm sure last month my luteal phase was 13 days and as I understood things, your LP phase doesn't shift. Confused

Purpledragon · 22/05/2012 11:31

crazy sorry things didn't work out this month. It's true the LP is not supposed to change. A small amount of change in the LP foes appear to be true for some women, a day or two. I've been charting for a bit and mine has a range of 3 days i.e. 11, 12 or 13 days. Are we all going slowly mad with this?

Treats · 22/05/2012 12:46

Thanks for the lovely messages ladies. It's really cheered me up to have you all rooting for me. Also my dad rang last night - my mum must have told him when she got home. He's very much a stiff upper lip type - doesn't really know what to say - but the fact that he called to let me know he was thinking of me (even though we chatted about the weather and my job) when he never does usually, meant an awful lot.

I feel a bit better today - the pains have gone and it's not nearly as heavy as yesterday which helps. And it's a lovely sunny day...... So - onwards and upwards. I could be two days pregnant already!

crazy - my LP has been all over the place since I started charting three months ago. First 11 days, then 8 days and now 12 days. But that's a symptom of the fact that my cycles have been weird. In a normal cycle, there shouldn't be a fluctuation of more than about 2 days. Also, an OPK can show a peak reading as much as 48 hours before ov occurs. If you actually ov'd on the Tuesday then you'd be 14DPO now - although that would still mean that Af wa late.......

blackcats - well rebound fertility certainly didn't work for me! Although, to be fair, mine wasn't a miscarriage. In fact, I wonder if the drugs they gave me to suppress lactation have had an impact on my cycle since then. I think the purpose of giving the Pill to people who are receiving fertility treatment is to get the body's hormones used to being controlled artificially before the really heavy treatment gets started. I should think that rebound fertility works because people have raised levels of progesterone following a pregnancy, which helps with a new pregnancy - but I doubt this is always the case.

lastboxoftampons · 22/05/2012 17:07

Treats, glad you're feeling better today. :)

Crazy poor you :( must be so confusing. Hoping you get some answers soon. I echo what others have said about your LP

Blackcats so sorry AF got you :( I'm not sure if there's any truth in rebound fertility, though I did get pregnant first cycle off the pill first time around (tho mc'd at 11 weeks).

6 or 7dpo here, good temps, lots of twinges/pulling and best part - absolutely no spotting. So unusual for me. I would cross my fingers but I know better. Friend is dropping her cbfm around tomorrow. Couldn't let her go uncompensated so I'm going to give her £25. Figured I could easily recoup that by selling on eBay when/if I finish with it. Or it could be the sleigh's resident lucky cbfm - grab your bfp and pass it on Grin. Maybe let's see how I get on first :)

blackcatsdancing · 22/05/2012 18:02

re luteal phase- this month my LP was 15, the month before was 12. But unless you know categorically when you ovulated then it is never going to be an exact science. I was surprised at the variation between these past 2 months, that's unusual for me, though to be honest i don't have many normal cycles to compare against.

lastbox your story is similar to mine, i had a MMC picked up at 11.5 weeks :(

well i must say 5 hours digging in full sun did take my mind off not being pregnant. Now going to see if i can buy another book on conception or book an appointment with an acupuncturist this month .
Hope everyone got to enjoy some sunshine today.

Pipbin · 22/05/2012 19:08

Lastbox Seems like the not spotting fairy has been to visit us both!
I'm amazed I've not had any this month.
It would be great if we could both get out BFPs this month, then we could go to a pg thread together.
Also, I love the idea of a lucky CBFM that could do the rounds.

Some twinges today, felt like AF tbh though.

SilentMammoth · 22/05/2012 20:16

Pipbin I'm liking that dip on 5dpo! Looking good!

DH away at moment, which is great Hmm because Mon and Tues are my work days, I had a church meeting last night and didn't get home til 11pm and my house looks like a bomb has hit it. So I'm going to tidy up and sort the laundry out. I don't do laundry on a Sunday so with 7 of us stuff mounts up like you wouldn't believe. And you know what the sad thing is? I'm going to listen to the radio while I clean and enjoy making the house look nice!

Treats glad you are feeling a bit better.

Crazytictac · 22/05/2012 21:34

Thanks for the advice on the luteal phase ladies. Quite reassuring.

Still a no show from AF. I've been to the gym and got a spin class tomorow evening so hope that might shift things along!

LimeLeafLizard · 22/05/2012 21:42

Mammoth I don't think that's sad at all - I often put some loud music on when I have lots of cleaning / tidying up to to. I dance around in a most embarrassing and inefficient way which makes it less of a job.

So sorry Crazy to hear about your BFN on dpo14 / 15. I was there last month. Hope your AF arrives soon so you can move onto the the next cycle.

The Luteal Phase Mystery has also struck me recently. Bear in mind I have been charting for 14 cycles now, the first 8 of which I wasn't TTC. My LP never varied from 13 days... not once, until two months ago when it mysteriously extended to 15 days.

Treats glad you have felt a bit better today.
Blackcats you must have burnt loads of calories doing all that digging, may I suggest some Chocolate (always goes down well when AF is visiting!).

Thanks I did get out in the sun today. DS2 & 3 and I met a friend and her daughter at a large green space near us, went for a walk by the lake and to the playground, and to the cafe. It was so lovely to have fine weather for a change. Tomorrow will be a bit more tedious as I have tons of work & chores to do.

OP posts:
Pipbin · 23/05/2012 07:27

9dpo and still no spotting. I don't think I've ever made it this far without spotting. Even if AF does get me then it's still a victory.
I'm so glad I have people here who understand how exciting this is.
Oh, and temps still high.

Crazytictac · 23/05/2012 08:02

Thanks lime

Sounding very promising pipbin. I do hope it's your month!

Such lovely weather again today, hurrah! Makes everything feel a bit better.

blackcatsdancing · 23/05/2012 10:37

Hi all,
good on the no spotting Pipbin. i had lots of spotting after my ERPC, lasted weeks , i'd never had realised how depressing and annoying it can be otherwise.
I can't remember are you taking any supplements to help stop it?

limeleaf sadly there was no chocolate in the house so made do with 2 thick slices of toast slathered with butter and honey (last thing at night- then i didn't sleep too well- silly me). Never mind its my day to go into into town so a visit to Hotel Chocolat for a free sample and maybe one of their close to sell by half price choccies is in order.

My only news is that i've finally taken proper action against my adult acne - which isn't bad but so very very depressing, i get 3-4 big red inflamed spots on my cheeks- the same side always, that are very hard to conceal, plus other smaller ones in random places, they all return as soon as they've cleared up with a fresh batch. As well as going to get some new cheap products that were recommended (simple oil free mosituriser/ dead sea soap etc) i've ordered a lumie light treatment for acne, very expensive but there is a 30 day trial which they will extend for a further 30 days if you're not sure so no risk , and if it works then its money well spent. I can't be spotty, slightly overweight and not pregnant its just too depressing. Also if i ever do get pregnant again the light therapy is safe to use during pregnancy, whereas many topical are not.

I was thinking about what has differed this time, the only thing i did do differently when TTC before was i used to visualise my womb as a friendly, warm, soft place . I shall try again, Zita west goes on about power of visualisation.

Hope everyone has a good day. Who is close to testing??

blackcatsdancing · 23/05/2012 10:39

topical treatments (for acne) - lots are contraindicated in pregnancy

LimeLeafLizard · 23/05/2012 11:03

see you in Hotel Chocolat, blackcats! I might just pop in as I'm passing today! So yummy - it is good for my waistline that they are so expensive.
have a good day all.

Pipbin · 23/05/2012 12:50

blackcats I've been taking vitamin b6 50mg, but this month I've changed to 100mg vitamin b complex.
I get spots too. I have to say that the best thing I have found so far is garnier blackhead scrub. Cleared them u straight away and has kept them down.

blackcatsdancing · 23/05/2012 15:20

pipbin great you found a treatment that works on your spots. I do use a scrub from time to time but have found overuse aggravates my skin. I found a column in the Guardian by Sali Hughes on acne followed by loads of online comments and have bought some new products based on what readers said. I'm trying cheaper things first- apart from the lumie splurge which is money back if it doesn't work. Fingers crossed it all helps. I was on the pill previously to help with my adult acne and it worked brilliantly, i took Yasmin.

I'll look into the vitamin B complex.

limeleaf did you get any chocs? They were doing samples of their estate plain dark choc today, very nice but i had hoped for something a little more exciting. last time i got something with black current in the middle which was delish! Anyway bought a tiny packet of 90% cocoa that was half price as needs to be eaten soon- they always have half price boxes in the shop.

Just missed DD in town, would have been nice to meet up and try the new gelato that's opened up here. ah well, maybe Friday.

Flyingwithoutwings · 23/05/2012 18:53

Evening ladies, I'm still here but nothing to report. Might try an opk this evening as its day 10 for me. Not expecting a positive result but I ought to start checking.

Wave to all Smile

Pipbin · 23/05/2012 19:42

Got home to find an appointment at the hospital.
I'm hoping that this works the way it does in all the stories. You know the one 'we'd tried for ages then when we got the appointment for the fertility clinic we found out I was pregnant'.
Got to be!

Wink
lastboxoftampons · 23/05/2012 21:59

Good luck, Pip.

I've had some spotting today. Just a tiny bit but I know what it means so just waiting for AF to arrive now. Bit pissed off that I let myself have just a little bit of hope this month. Anyway, my friend dropped off the CBFM earlier so slightly excited to have something new to try for this cycle.

EmpireBiscuit · 23/05/2012 22:07

Hello ladies!

Just popping in to make sure all are okay and feed the stinky reindeer. I am hopeful that a couple of carrots will help him work his magic!

Wiggy29 · 23/05/2012 22:15

Hi all, I have been reading but lurking past few days as I've been trying avoid obsessing over things so early in my cycle. Cbfm up and running and seems to be working fine so far but I'll keep you all posted.

Treats- sorry about bfn, it's such a cruel thing. Hopefully we have law of averages in our favour& bfps on this thread to show us it will happen for the vast majority of us,may just take awhile.

Blackcats- I came off oxytetrecyclin (sp???) as it did wonders for my skin but it advises not to have in pregnancy so doc advised I stopped taking it when ttc. Already my skin is suffering but I'm trying to make do with Liz Earle hot clothe& polish as find that tends to take the edge off the worst of it.

Feeling ok about ttc at the mo but worried I'm being extra anal about other areas of my life as some sort of strange reaction to the lack of control I feel over ttc. I would live it if a magic fairy could tell me that I defo will, even if I have to wait a year or more, just to know it will happen again for us would be wonderful.
