Right I'm going to be bold and start a new thread to drum up some energy for anyone ttc a Jan / Feb / Spring 2013 baby.

Does anyone want to join me on this flight?

Dillydollydaydream · 13/05/2012 16:41

Ooh empire. Yay :)
I went out to a friends party when I was pregnant with dc1. I didn't know at the time. Got what I thought was my period that afternoon, used a tampon when I went out but when I changed it when I got home it was clean. I'd been having doubles of everything all night Blush
The next day I tested and was indeed pregnant. I felt awful but dd is nearly 9 and absolutely fine.
Don't feel bad Empire. Go you running the race too :)

Flightty · 13/05/2012 16:41

Oh and Spring, so sorry you're feeling rough Sad

Have you stopped having caffeine...I find that one of the worst things, I think. Might be worth a try?
Also don't be afraid to ask Dr for Phenergan or something, it's an anti histamine and helps a lot of people...I'm planning to get hold of some (can buy it in Boots), haven't even been using my normal antiemetic, this week, as I've been feeling pretty normal again, though expecting to feel rougher before long! Only 5 weeks today. I hope you feel better soon x

EmpireBiscuit · 13/05/2012 16:49

Thanks girls :) makes me feel slightly better. I tested again, and another, if even fainter, line.

15 DPO today. Still don't think I believe it. Apparently my EDD is 21st January.

Crazytictac · 13/05/2012 18:02

Yay! Congrats empire! Fab news :o

Flyingwithoutwings · 13/05/2012 19:03

Spotting Sad
Not looking hopeful now Sad

Never mind, means I haven't wasted money on opk Smile Confused

SilentMammoth · 13/05/2012 19:17

Oh Flying Sad I'm sorry. Fancy joining us tempers (as it were) this month?

EmireBiscuit Shock Grin so happy for you, well done!!

How's everyone else?

SilentMammoth · 13/05/2012 19:18

Sorry, meant to say, welcome Spellcheck! Sorry to hear about your DD; may this month be lucky for you.

Wiggy29 · 13/05/2012 19:30

Spellcheck- welcome along and to echo others, so sorry about your dd.

Flying- oh no! I was staring to feel really positive for you. Sending hugs.

Empire- fantastic news! What cycle were you on?

Silent- I'm going to give temping/ opk a proper go this month so will probs have a million questions.

Flyingwithoutwings · 13/05/2012 20:46

Not going to temp, that's all a bit much for me. Going for the sticks next month.
Getting a bit heavier now Sad
Was rather excited for a few days there Sad

Spellcheck · 13/05/2012 21:07

Thank you for lovely welcome! and congrats Empire and Pipbin on your BFP!!!!!

Crazy - yes i'd had symptoms of hypothyroidism for ages, without knowing it. Fatigue, unexplained weight gain, carpal tunnel syndrome, heavy periods, and when i look at photos from last year i can see the lump in my neck that i didn't notice till Jan this year, which was an autoimmune disease called Hashimoto's that was destroying my thyroid. All pg women should be screened for thyroid disorders!!

No sign of the old bat AF yet. Wasted 2 hpt tests today!! Only internet cheapies though. Am still hopeful but you know what she's like.

Still temping and will use opk again next month. Can answer any Qs on this as have become obsessed have been researching it a bit this month.

Hope you're all having a relaxing Sunday eve! Those of you who are pg no doubt nodded off hours ago...!

Spellcheck · 13/05/2012 21:12

...and Flying - I thought you were pg too... bloody AF. So sorry. Fx for next month. Btw have found out that positive opk doesn't always mean you ov, only temping can tell for sure. Fertility Friend is pretty good tho can be an arse remembering to take temp every morning!

Flyingwithoutwings · 13/05/2012 21:22

Gutted Sad
But opk worked to get DS, first time Grin
So will try that for a couple of months. I really don't want to stress about it (although that's tough atm) but have sworn that we are only going to try this year and then but a contented family of 3 Hmm

Treats · 13/05/2012 21:29

Yay Empire - that's brilliant news - congratulations! This IS becoming a lucky thread.

Flying - do you think you're definitely out now? I'm so sorry that these last few days have been so uncertain - it must have been a rollercoaster for you. My ttc bible (Taking Charge of your Fertility by Tony Weschler) says that stress can often delay ov for a few days, although your luteal phase is usually unaffected. Do you think you might have been feeling more stressed than normal three weeks ago?

Spellcheck - welcome. Reaching out to give your hand an extra-friendly squeeze - I lost my DS at six hours old last November, so I can understand a bit of what you're going through. Are you seeing someone for the thyroid disorder? I have a friend who had something similar and was almost back to normal once she was prescribed Thyroxine (sp?). Sounds awful about looking at the photo - it must give you the shudders.

5dpo here. And finally, a respectable post-ov temp - 97.6. I think it's too early to be the start of a triphasic shift, but at least my body can conjure up a reasonable amount of progesterone. Blood test on Wed when I can find out a bit more. I wonder if it's the B6 kicking in already? I've only been taking the tablets for a couple of days.

LimeLeafLizard · 13/05/2012 22:07

Hello all,
I'm back from my weekend away and in only two days I've missed so much!

Empire, congratulations! Wonderful news, hope all goes well for you. Try not to worry about the 10K and the drinks too much, lots of people overdo it before they realise they're pg and all goes fine.

Pipbin well done on your perm contract, great news and security for TTC.

Spellcheck, welcome! So sorry to hear about the loss of your little girl last year. Hope all goes well for you now you've joined us here. My SIL is on Thyroxine too and had a healthy pregnancy with thyroid problems.

Flying, so sorry to hear AF is on her way. We all had our hopes up for you this month, she is such a bitch to play you like that with her lateness.

We had a good weekend away, I didn't take the thermometer since AF was with me anyway, and it has been good to have a couple of days off obsessing temping. We were in quite a rural area, the DC got to see horses and chickens and take the dog for a walk, and we all managed to get enough sleep for once.

Now AF has cleared off again and I'm gearing up to try for a Valentine's baby.

Pipbin · 13/05/2012 23:29

Hi Spellcheck nice to see a new face here. However, I haven't got a BFP yet, unless you know something I don't.

Now, off to entice DH to DTD given that I had a positive OPK this morning, not that he needs to know that.

Flyingwithoutwings · 14/05/2012 03:05

AF is here with vengeance, pain and significant (but not yet heavy) bleeding.
Just had to get up and take pain relief as my lower back is killing me. Sad

I did have a stressful week 2 weeks ago (as will this coming week), but it's no more than I'm used to. My job is generally stressless, but has unpredictable peaks. Some are my fault (not being arsed to file stuff until the end of a task) others are down to the type of task that comes in.
I have been trying to get on top of my controllable stress and am nearly there. But my work means a task can take 4 months to complete so it's hard to be motivated to do filing at the beginning.

That probably makes no sense at all... But it does to me Wink

Think of a lawyer: months of work, building up a case, papers everywhere, then having to organise it ready for the trial in 2 days time.. It's like that (but I'm not a lawyer). I investigate, write a report, and have to be able to justify every sentence / recommendation I make (and cross reference every sentence)... I hate that bit (but love investigating Wink)

So yes, can be stressed but not generally excessively Grin

EmpireBiscuit · 14/05/2012 06:47

I'm so sorry flying. I hope the painkillers kick in soon.

Speaking of your job, DH was saying last night that wouldn't it be odd if it turns out we all know each other. LLL you could be my boss.

EmpireBiscuit · 14/05/2012 06:47

Or my cousin or something!

Flyingwithoutwings · 14/05/2012 07:47

I saw a post the other day in AIBU, then, on Tues at work a woman said "I went to XYZ" on Sat... I thought "oh, so that was YOU!"
But, the ABIU was slagging a place off and work friend said she had a good time... I did wonder though.... I could have outed myself as I wrote on the ABIU that I was going to visit this place soon (and work friend knows it)....
Phew, it was close but I'm 75% sure it wasn't her Confused

I have to be fairly secretive about my job irl too, can never go into detail about it as it can be very sensitive. But my friends & family know not to ask, I'd probably bore them to death anyway Wink

Pipbin · 14/05/2012 07:50

Complete rejection by DH in bed last night.
Fortunately no temp rise this morning. Still in with a chance.

Flyingwithoutwings · 14/05/2012 07:54

Sad silly DH!!
I think my next ov will either be at Butlins or in Scotland Blush
So I'm thinking Ruby for a girl or Angus for a boy Wink

EmpireBiscuit · 14/05/2012 07:56

Oooh flying would you have to kill us if you told us? You're definitely not my boss then....

Poor pip lucky your temp didn't rise though.

Flyingwithoutwings · 14/05/2012 08:12

I wouldn't get my hands dirty - I'm further up the food chain... But I know plenty of people who could do it on my behalf Wink
You're in the right area, but not the fully sexy one (although I've worked with them too) Wink

Flyingwithoutwings · 14/05/2012 08:14

So how does temp show ov? I'm getting a little curious now... Does it drop?

Crazytictac · 14/05/2012 08:34

flying you have me intrigued! An expert witness or locus reporter? Hmm, maybe not the latter as they don't give evidence that often...... Sorry about your AF :(

pipbin you'll have to launch another strike today. Will he guess that it's fertile time? Mine does!

I do wonder what you ladies are like in real life. If i see someone in the paper I think that reminds me of what x might look like. Bizarre! Out of curiosity, where are we all based? I'm in Wales!
