Right I'm going to be bold and start a new thread to drum up some energy for anyone ttc a Jan / Feb / Spring 2013 baby.

Does anyone want to join me on this flight?

OP posts:
Pipbin · 12/05/2012 23:22

B6 100mg at Holland and Barrett is on a buy one get one for 1p offer right now.

Flyingwithoutwings · 13/05/2012 06:47

But if I get AF at the same time (27.5 days apart) each month then I would expect to ov roughly the same time: assuming ov trigger process that results in AF?

That's my understanding anyway..

Appreciate I can't be 100% sure (not having tested for ov) and, I guess, my body might suddenly change. But after 12 years of not being on the pill and only using condoms for protection, my body has used the 27.5 day rule with the occasional 2 day delay (just to panic me)

No sign so far.... Maybe it's menopause Blush

SpringFlowers · 13/05/2012 06:49

Morning all. So so tired. I've made the mistake of carrying on temping and today it's dropped a little. I feel all worried about mc now. What is the matter with me? I had an early mc before dd3 and it makes you anxious. I must stop worrying, it does no good.

babaloulou · 13/05/2012 06:53

Hi ladies.
My bleeding has settled so hopefully over the worst.
Will post properly later. But wanted to ask about taking vitamin b6. I have been monitoring my luteal phase for 7 months and know it is short.
What are you ladies taking it for and have you self diagnosed? When are you taking them?

Wiggy29 · 13/05/2012 08:39

Empire- sorry about your BFN too, how did the 10k run go? I've just started tempting fate by going to the gym and losing a few ponds so surely now I'm getting near my 'happy body/ weight' then surely a giant pregnancy tummy needs to come along and spoil it all???

Flying- I don't know enough about it but I'm the same as you in terms of attitude after last month, I got a BFN on Friday and AF was due yesterday, I'm only a day late but if I hadn't tested I think I would have been mega excited now and would be gutted if I wasn't, so I can't imagine how I would have felt if I'd been as late as you and then got a negative, it all seems very cruel and confusing. I know that you can't say it's defo over until AF arrives but for my own mental health it's easier to assume it is otherwise you suffer from disappointment when you get BFN and then again when AF arrives. I know there are odd exceptions but mainly it seems when you get a BFN 95% there's no baby : ( I think your wise to give it till Wednesday then see the doctor, just for peace of mind.

I'll hang off til AF arrives (can't be long) then let you all know so stats can be updated to cycle three. I'm going to aim to use opk twice a day during this cycle which will be awkward with work but I'm thinking I'll have to poas and keep it in my bag (classy) rather than lurk in the toilets for 5 mins and just read it when I get back to class.

DP has suggested we are dtd too much too early in the cycle, I think after AF we go a bit crazy and then get a bit weary/ sore so this month I think we're going to try and rigidly (ish) stick to every other day not every day for about 7 days then once every three (ish) which we'd slipped into.

Flyingwithoutwings · 13/05/2012 09:42

DH is convinced I'm pg, we dtd last night and he can tell when AF is on her way and it didn't feel like that at all to him, felt like mid cycle Confused
He's confused by the test & wants me to get another one. Told him I will, but not for a few more days - not wasting loads of money to see those two dreadful words again Wink

Def think I've got thrush. We used a condom last night, just in case. It ruined my pg last time, ended up in GU clinic, at 6 months... Seemed ironic being in there with a substantial bump Blush
But they gave me a better, long term, solution to it (rather than the usual "just use cream" from GP)

Waves to everyone. We have glorious sunshine here. So will potter in the garden again today Grin

blackcatsdancing · 13/05/2012 09:45

Hi all,
so many messages! I'm 7DPO ...i'm not symptom spotting just trying to get on with stuff so time goes quickly. Seeing as its another month when we only had one shot at it seems unlikely but you never know!!

pipbin- congrats on the permanent contract, great news.

lastboxtampons- 21 cents! that's incredible

crazytictic- its a versatile dress. wore it that night for dinner at home with DP over leggings and it looked good but would look lovely on holiday somewhere hot with bare tanned legs, somewhere sultry, ooh a holiday would be lovely.

empire sorry for BFN . How was the run? do you do many?

springflowers- stop temping, you will drive yourself mad.

silentmammoth- make sure you squeeze one in before he goes and you could still be in with a chance. Can you visit him?? Might be sexy , rendezvous at his hotel.

treats- thanks, i didn't know superdrug stocked 50mg, i can compare prices now as they are opposite holland and barret where i live . I didnt want to start on the 100mg- though i saw that special offer . hope it's helpful for you too. I've recommended it to my teenage daughter .

everyone- i was in ASDA on my lunchbreak yesterday ( i work in a suburban area near a retail park so not many choices of places to go to at lunchtime), anyway got some free folic acid from the pharmacy and noticed they are also giving away free vitamin D for children aged 3 and over. So whilst not worth making a special trip if anyone shops there...

blackcatsdancing · 13/05/2012 09:48

flying does still sound hopeful. wow your DH must be super observant, i'll ask DP tonight if his penis can detect where i am in the cycle!

blackcatsdancing · 13/05/2012 09:52

wiggy our usual pattern is every 3 days but when TTC we try for alternate days during the fertile period (if i can work that out) with maybe an extra one thrown in, after that it tails off for a while as we have a rest. I've looked at the shagging patterns on pregnancy graphs on FF and am amazed at the amount some of them go at it. DP could not keep up with that, neither could I.

blackcatsdancing · 13/05/2012 09:54

past 2 months have been poor though, this month ovulated early so caught on the hop by that, esp as DP had been very tired in days leading up so he'd been falling asleep as soon as he got into bed. Month before managed sex once 2 days before ov then i got a rotten cold and didn't want to be touched. Must try harder...

blackcatsdancing · 13/05/2012 09:57

p.s someone said (sorry forgot who) that they were losing weight and going to the gym- well done that woman! Its what i need to do. anyway going to go out now and enjoy the sun today.

Spellcheck · 13/05/2012 10:03

Ladies, mind if I join you?

I hate to crash a thread but you all seem so much fun despite all the BFNs and I need some hand holding!

My story (in brief) I have 3DCs from a previous marriage and am desperately trying to conceive #4 with fiance of 3 years. I am 38, he is 29 . We lost a healthy little girl at 19 weeks last Oct and I have since been diagnosed as having major thyroid issues which could have been to blame. Each pg i have conceived almost straight away so reckon thyroid probs might have stopped me ovulating. Started meds and temping this month and did ov, but have had dreaded BFN and cramps and as the old bitch AF is due today am feeling mighty pissed off!!! Can hear the ol' biological clock ticking away but too embarrassed of age to admit this to DP.

So, am hoping for a Feb 2013 baby, although should have had a March 2012 girl.

Babalou - Vit B6 is to lengthen the Luteal Phase so could be good for you. Am so sorry for what you've been through. is it definitely all over?

Apologies for typos, laptop dead so forced to use iPad torture device.

Crazytictac · 13/05/2012 11:06

Welcome spellcheck, nice to have you on board although so sorry to read about your DD. Did you have any symptoms with your thyroid problem beforehand? (Hope that's not too personal to ask). Really hope you get your BFP soon and that AF stays away today (and for a long while!)

flying. You must be going crackers! Hope the pottering takes your mind off things. I had a random 56 day ish cycle a while ago and know I ovulated (well positive opk) but AF was no where to be seen, so frustrating.

blackcats dress sounds lovely! A holiday would be great.....might have a look later myself

pipbin great news on your job. Well done!

Hope you other ladies are having a nice weekend!

Flyingwithoutwings · 13/05/2012 11:35

Blackcats it wasn't his penis, it was his finger Blush, apparently something kinda hangs down (cervix?) when AF is due.

Nice to have a new face on the thread, so terribly sad to hear about your loss Sad

Just been to Chavda and didn't notice the deals Sad but got some thrush cream and headache tablets - stress induced!!

Pipbin · 13/05/2012 12:37

Thank you for all the congratulations.

Definitely OVing a week early here as I got a positive OPK this morning.

Now knowing how I like to experiment with OPKs I thought you guys might like to hear today's experience.

Tested my first wee of the day, and had a slight line but no where near dark enough to call positive. So I had a shower and then forced out another wee afterwards. This one tested as positive even though it was only 15 minutes later.

Now in the name of science I have just done another one and it was negative.

Pipbin · 13/05/2012 12:40

Oh Blackcats I used to go to the gym and never lost an ounce.
However I have now been running using an iphone app called Get Running.
I can't recommend it highly enough. It gets you from not running at all to running 5k. I'm currently running 2.5 miles three days a week and have lost loads of weight. Cheaper and easier than the gym.

EmpireBiscuit · 13/05/2012 14:21

flying I think it sounds really hopeful still. I would be confident in giving the stinky reindeer another carrot.

Hi spellcheck

Congrats pipbin.

Race ran in a PB. Really rather chuffed. AF due today and still no sign. Wish she would hurry herself along sometimes....no sense of urgency!

lastboxoftampons · 13/05/2012 14:55

Flying still really hopeful for you. The second half of your cycle, after you ov, shouldn't really vary. But you can ov earlier or later than normal in any given cycle. I agree it's strange that you'd ov so much later than normal given how regular your cycles are but it can happen. I think I read somewhere that your cervix remains high and closed when you're pregnant, so your DP's, erm, investigations sound like a good sign Grin

pip your app sounds great, might look into it. Am trying to distract myself from ttc by turning my focus on taking care of my health and appearance instead and have been meaning to do some exercise Blush DH's half sister is getting married in August and it would b nice to lose a few pounds by then. By the way Grin at your opk science experiments. I hate to pee on things! Grin

Well done on your run empire! Good for you!

Welcome Spellcheck Smile so sorry to hear about your DD Sad hope you'll find lots of support on here

Hello everyone else Smile

EmpireBiscuit · 13/05/2012 14:57

Holy fuck (excuse the language) but I just got a very (very) faint line.

OMG, heave....my poor bean. Drowned in wine and forced through a 10k.

Shock
Flyingwithoutwings · 13/05/2012 15:19

Wahooooo!!! That's fantastic news!!! Poor pickled bean Wink
Wahooo!!

SpringFlowers · 13/05/2012 15:28

Hurrah! Congratulations!!! You didn't pickle your baby, it will only start being provided for by you and your bloodstream in the next few days. I read it on the Internet so it must be true. Besides it's too late to worry about it. You should probably quit drinking now though! Empire, when's your due date.

EmpireBiscuit · 13/05/2012 15:44

I'm just so Shock.

And feel awful about the wine.

flying get testing. I intend to do another 5 (at least) today. Cheap Internet strips.

EmpireBiscuit · 13/05/2012 15:47

spring does the sickness make it seem more real? I really just don't believe the strip. I've had no symptoms.

Pipbin · 13/05/2012 16:05

Empire This is so exciting!

This is a lucky thread, I can feel it!

Flightty · 13/05/2012 16:38

Blimey Shock I've been lurking but too knackered to write anything! But I had to post....Empire, you almost definitely feel worse than the baby does!!!

You poor thing, you must be exhausted after your efforts this weekend. how many DPO are you?

Congratulations Thanks Smile

Wonderful news!
