Asseyez-vous mes amies and ready yourselves for the BESH Eurovision contest ever. Get ready with your Central European fashion, transvestites and inability to sing anything in tune. Get ready to rip your skirts off and leave your other halves no option but to make their mind up (do you see what I did there?) to get down to some swi and do your best not to think of Terry Wogan at any point in the proceedings. Finally, get ready to yell ?nul points? at the evil Droid should it dare to make an appearance.

Newbies, approach in high euro-camp mode, find and complete the BESHtionnaire to let us judge whether you are cynical and menkul enough to join us.

It sucks the big one Faithy Sad

HaveALittleFaithBaby · 08/05/2012 08:07

< tries to work out the logistics and head starts spinning> it would be rubbish if you were diffed while is away too since he'd miss scans etc too wouldn't it? So are you contemplating not ttc til 3 months before he goes?

CaveMum · 08/05/2012 08:24

Really don't know at the moment. We're going to have a long chat about it tonight. HWHNN has said he'll do whatever I want him too, which makes me feel guilty for wanting him to stay.

AAARRRRGGGGHHHHH!!!!!!!

Northey · 08/05/2012 10:32

Oh God, what a shit situation. Do you have a gut feeling about what you want to do, or are you genuinely lost?

FriendofDorothy · 08/05/2012 10:43

Uh oh. Small amount of bleeding today. I am scared Sad

CaveMum · 08/05/2012 10:58

Dor try not to panic. From what I understand some bleeding is perfectly normal. Perhaps check in with the PESH and if you're still concerned call your Dr?

Norf, my gut instinct is to say don't go, but I'd probably think that baybee or no baybee! If we put off ttc it'll be sod's law that I still don't get diffed. At the moment I'm leaning towards him not going, but I'd he does I think I still want to keep trying. Not ideal though is it?

Northey · 08/05/2012 11:38

Keep calm dor and don't stress your body with panicking. You know what you have to do - just rest and breathe and monitor for colour and heaviness and any accompanying pain.

How many weeks are you? If they scanned you would there be anything to see yet? If so, could you call GP or EPU and ask for a scan?

Northey · 08/05/2012 11:43

"not ideal" is an understatement, cavey! But in your position I would definitely keep trying regardless, I think.

It's really hard to advise military families, as it is such a specific and separate world in situations like this, and all sorts of variables which non-military types just won't know about. Is there a forum where you could maybe chat to people who will appreciate the situation more fully, with all it's limitations and possibilities?

FriendofDorothy · 08/05/2012 11:49

I am 8 weeks. Have seen the GP and he is going to get me a scan appointment today. I am trying not to panic but it's hard.

In other news. Looks like we have got that house :)

Northey · 08/05/2012 12:15

Yay for the house! And for the scan today, which is v good news.

HaveALittleFaithBaby · 08/05/2012 12:50
CaveMum · 08/05/2012 13:08

Definite yay for the house!

If it's any consolation Dor, my best friend had bleeding at 7 weeks and all is well, she's coming up to 18 weeks already!

FriendofDorothy · 08/05/2012 13:17

Thanks. I am sure it will be fine... it's just majorly anxiety provoking!

blonderthanred · 08/05/2012 13:21

Dot, I had the same at 8&11wks & all fine. It might be the long walk has just irritated something or dislodged some old blood. Hang on in there! xx

FriendofDorothy · 08/05/2012 13:23

Thanks. I am meant to be going to a 1940's Hangar Ball tonight and I am bloody well determined to go. Even if all I can do is sit there and watch everything I want to go!

KatAndKit · 08/05/2012 16:08

dor I had more bleeding when I was diffed with Max than I did in the two pregnancies I miscarried. It was generally just spotting and if it isn't accompanied by cramps then there is a very good chance it's nothing to worry about. If you have recently been sechsing then it might just be cervical irritation.

Good luck with your scan, I'll be checking in later hoping to read good news from you.

FriendofDorothy · 08/05/2012 17:04

I had lots of red bleeding. Scan showed baby still in place. Possibly was a twin pregnancy and I lost one. I am all cried out with relief!

HaveALittleFaithBaby · 08/05/2012 17:08

Oh dor what a day! Sorry to hear about possible loss :(
Really pleased to hear there's a bean still in place :)

CaveMum · 08/05/2012 17:47

Oh, Dor! What mixed emotions you must be going through right now.

[Hugs Dor and for good measure tweaks nipples, just to keep it all BESH-like y'understand]

blonderthanred · 08/05/2012 19:16

Very very glad to hear you saw the baby Dor. Put your feet up and have a cup of decaff while you process it all.

My doc said a successful 8 week scan was the best possible indicator that the pregnancy would be successful, so you've got a great chance.

Northey · 08/05/2012 19:33

Phew for good scan, dor. Hopefully that will be the only scare you ever have, and the rest of your pregnancy will be peacefully straightforward.

KatAndKit · 08/05/2012 19:38

Oh thank goodness dor am so pleased that you have seen a healthy baby on the scan. blonde is right, a successful 8 week scan generally means that the pregnancy is viable and there is at least a 95% chance that it will continue to term. And there is nothing like seeing your baybee on that screen for the very first time :)

FriendofDorothy · 09/05/2012 00:02

Thanks for all your support ladies, I can't tell you how much it means.

I did go to the Hangar Ball in the end and it was absolutely brilliant! So much to see and do whilst sitting at the table eating and drinking. It definitely took my mind off things for a bit anyway.

Northey · 09/05/2012 09:05

Morning, contestants and judges. On way for tracking scan now, hoping to see some massive and ready-to-pop follicles. And not at all secretly hoping again for the nurse to do a double take at my uterus and ask me when I last POASed.

Mightily impressed with your ball-going activities, dor. Is a hangar ball a particular thing? Or a ball in an aircraft hangar?

FriendofDorothy · 09/05/2012 09:21

The Hangar Ball is run by Specsavers in Guernsey. We also have a bank holiday today as 9 May is Liberation Day which celebrates the liberation of the island from the occupying German forces.

The Hangar Ball is a 1940's themed event to celebrate and it was wonderful. I am so glad I went out :) No more bleeding today. Thank goodness!
