ok, as the january thread reached 1800 posts exactly, well it did at last count, I think it's time we started the February thread. Now February has lots going for it, valentines, extra reasons for BD, it only has 28 days, the average length of a menstral cycle, .. so me thinks feb will be a very positive month for all of us!

Happy BD to all! (((hugs))) xxx

did u think that the epidural hurt natalie?

mumswish · 31/01/2006 14:19

I didnt know there was more than 1! its the one with the girls on the front, thats all i know, I think I manage to get through about 15-30 mins at the mo, but then its the heap time!! lol

I always thought gas & air did nothing! lol, maybe i'll hope to stick to that, the sad thing is I know exactly what I want to do for the birth, where, how and with who. I'm not even PG yet (as DH keeps mentioning!! )

NatalieJane · 31/01/2006 14:23

Yes this will be number 2.

I don't remember the pain of the epidural so it couldn't be that bad!! TBH when you are actually in labour and feeling that it is that bad that you want an epidural, the contractions will be feeling a hell of a lot worse than any needle! I can't imagine why it would hurt that much anyway, the skin is numbed before the epidural is put in, so the worse pain you should feel is when the local goes in to numb the skin - that is no worse than any other injection you would have.

wuzzlefraggle · 31/01/2006 14:23

yeah, theres three, theres the ultimate workout, ultimate beach body and hi energy. mines pink with the girls on it...does deanna berry instruct you (shes the 1 from the call on me vid)..hey this will clear it up...do they play boogie pimps, somebody to love?? or any songs that u can remember??

what have u decided your birth should be like then mumswish? (if u dont mind me asking)

NatalieJane · 31/01/2006 14:24

What are you hoping for Mumswish?

mumswish · 31/01/2006 14:31

I want a home birth (cos I'm scared of hospitals and cos my mate who had her baby at the only hospital in the area was treated very badly, but different story) I was Dp there (or if he gets his way, he'll be in the lounge handing out cigars ) I want my mum there aswel, cos I know Dp couldnt handle the gore. I want a birthing pool if possible but preferably no drugs, except gas & air

mumswish · 31/01/2006 14:32

its got the baby song on it yeh (need somebody to love) so the same as you from the sounds of it.

Do either of you know what you want your birth to be like?

NatalieJane · 31/01/2006 14:35

Have you got any definate plans Wuzzle? I would really like to go for a birthing pool this time, I think it would really help me. I really don't want to be induced again though!! I think I just hope for an overall more relaxed atmosphere, a little more dignity to be taking home with the new baby, and not hiding my face from the midwives I came across in case they were there at the birth!!! And to do more of what I wanted to do instead of what people were telling me to do!

mumswish · 31/01/2006 14:37

I want to write everything down cos i know i will just go along with what ever they say, so i'm gonna write it down to the last detail and make DP tell them

wuzzlefraggle · 31/01/2006 14:38

yeah, think u got the same as me, i just got confused coz u said that theres a taibo workout..what does taibo mean? lol am i just being really stupid and totally missing something? lol

umm, i think id want to be in a hospital (otherwise id freak out) but id very much like to only use gas and air (if possible) and would love a birthing pool. id want my dp to be there with me, hes said that he wants to be as involved with every part of it as possible

mumswish · 31/01/2006 14:40

tai bo is a completely different type of workout. its kinda like boxing. I'll see if i can find a link bear with me

NatalieJane · 31/01/2006 14:42

There are some things that I just took for granted as well, like, I always assumed that unless there was anything wrong, that the baby would be placed on the mothers chest after s/he had been born, luckily this happened with me but it wasn't untill after I had had Thomas that I realised that sometimes they don't do that unless you ask! So I was lucky with that one, but will definatly be writing it all down and making sure that things get done how I want them done this time!!

Have either of you got a short list of names? (go on I bet you have!!!!) And any flavour preferences?

mumswish · 31/01/2006 14:44

taibo

mumswish · 31/01/2006 14:46

if its a boy definatly Matthew (Matthew Fred Miller)
Girl I'm undecided on. I want something gaelic cos Matthew is a welsh name, and im welsh, but nothing thats obviously welsh cos I cant hide it from DP then! lol

wuzzlefraggle · 31/01/2006 14:48

hahaha, names is all i think about!!
for a girl i love maddison, paige, kiera, brooke, charlie (loads more, but i have slight brain drian )
for a boy i like, james, sawyer, elliot, piers (as in brosnan), harvey, oliver, seth, silas. i could so on and on, lol.

NatalieJane · 31/01/2006 14:49

Awww Matthew is a lovely name!

wuzzlefraggle · 31/01/2006 14:51

taegan is a nice welsh girls name (imo)but its a bit obviosly welsh i expect, if ur looking for a not so welsh sounding one

i get what u mean now mumswish...they do lots of punchy type things in that workout..sorry, just didnt know it was calles taibo is all)

NatalieJane · 31/01/2006 14:52

LOL Wuzzle! I am the same, a great big long list for each sex!! I tend to like old fashioned names for boys, but then really wierd funky names for girls!

wuzzlefraggle · 31/01/2006 14:52

matthew is lovely

wuzzlefraggle · 31/01/2006 14:53

yeah, rocky sounding names for girls are cool. and yes my list grows longer and longer..i bet i'll buy a book of names too tho

mumswish · 31/01/2006 14:55

DP like Melody for a girl but i'm not too keen, although I really like the name teagan, dont think i'll get that one past him tho. I dont like the name Fred but ist tradition that all first born males have to have fred in they're name and DP broke it so he's starting it again.

I like Melanie, or Melissa. Big fan of M names because of the miller part, i think its good to have the same letter at the beginning of each name. but then thats me.

NatalieJane · 31/01/2006 14:57

I have still got my names book from the first time round (and then chose Thomas - really needed a book for that one!!! ) but it is over four years old now and there have been some lovely 'new' names that have cropped up all over so will get a new one I expect!! There are loads of websites now as well with a few names on. Have admittedly found myself scanning T.V. credits for wierd names and listening to what the kids are called at my sons school!

wuzzlefraggle · 31/01/2006 15:00

how do u put a link on one of these posts???
babynames.com is a good one, they tell you the meaning behind the names too

mumswish · 31/01/2006 15:00

babynames.com

mumswish · 31/01/2006 15:02
