ok, as the january thread reached 1800 posts exactly, well it did at last count, I think it's time we started the February thread. Now February has lots going for it, valentines, extra reasons for BD, it only has 28 days, the average length of a menstral cycle, .. so me thinks feb will be a very positive month for all of us!

Happy BD to all! (((hugs))) xxx

Hi guys! Nice new shiny thread

Trace - yep, am sure it's AF. So am def not pregnant. My next AF will be due end of Feb so I guess we'll all be waiting for me again. Might crack under all this pressure

Very busy at work here today. Very cold too up North, wish I'd worn my big cardi!

wannaBe1974 · 25/01/2006 16:30

It's freezing here too, we put a tub of water out in the garden a few weeks ago when it was really cold, to show DS what happens when it gets cold, and it froze.

A lovely brand spanking new Feb, thread. Excellent!!
Dd has just developed conjunctivits Typical when we're on 'holiday' and no gp!! Went to pharmacy but they wouldn't giuve me anything so had to wait to see a local gp who finally gave me drops. Actually, that was the easy part- putting the drops in is a nightmare!! dd is now practising putting them on her doll, the floor and my mum's coffee table shock]

This HAS to be the lucky thread

wuzzlefraggle · 25/01/2006 16:33

well u never know wannaBe, me and mumswish were discussing this the other day, and sods law will most probably make sure that any1 thats trying to get in shape/fly for a holiday etc will get pg, lol. hope u ave a good time tho.
Northy, fingers crossed for this month!!

well, id best b off now.

HAPPY BDING EVERY1!!!

wannaBe1974 · 25/01/2006 16:36

Aw sorry about your DD hales, but be careful, conjunctivitis is extremely contagious, although you probably don't need me to tell you that, but you should be extra careful when coming into contact with her at all.

if nothing else thanx for litsening to me rabble xxx good luck to all

wannaBe1974 · 25/01/2006 17:25

Aw thank HK (((hugs))) hope all is well with you

Hello slink and welcome, I am TTC for number 2 since may last year, I remember seeing on a programme once by robert winston, that the key to getting pregnant was to "have sex, and have it often". lol but seriously, if there is no actual diagnozed problem then that is all you can do really, if your DH has a low sperm count then that could make things more difficult of course, but if you've done it once then it's always possible again, it only takes one sperm

good luck

miaow! miaow!!!! ooooh, shiny new lucky thread
thankyou wannabe it is just perfect...
Firstly i just wanna say to northener how sorry i am, sending you all my good luck wishes for next month.....hope you are ok chick...
i hope this will be lucky for all of us. Im a happy pusscat today, i have 4 days off cause our department is on strike for 2 days!!! YAY!!!!
Back to a conversation earlier today some of you were having, northy i think, i completely agree, ttc is all consuming, we've been tryin for not that long in the grand scheme of things, but there is not a day goes by when i do not think about it all, and lets face it, there is alot to think about - should you/would you, will you/wont you, does dh agree, is it the right time, temps, cervical secretions(!), babydancing in the mood or not, planning/organising, trying to keep it romantic, ovulating are you/arent you, tests for this tests for that, which is most reliable ..................the list is truly endless.

wannaBe1974 · 25/01/2006 17:56

Lol so the strike is next couple days then? saw that on the news earlier in the week.

You're right re all-consuming though, I was looking on the internet earlier for somewhere where DH can have a sperm test done so he doesn't have to take too many days off work to get it done here, and the amount of sites there are where you can order this fertility test and that fertility test, or this combination of vitamins/minerals to aid conception, and then today on the news there was an item about a test that you can do now to see how many eggs you have left and how long you will be fertile, aimed at "women who want to balance their career and family options". I think that knowledge is almost a bad thing, before all these tests existed, people got married, and had babies, they didn't know when their exact fertile time was so they just got on with it and either got pregnant or didn't, with all the tests etc that women really "should do now", it's a wonder that anyone ever conceived at all in those several thousand years before the ovulation kit was invented, lol.

So PCM I take it from your name that you are a cat lover? how many cats do you have?

and on other note, how is your sister doing? it's next wednesday she goes for preg test isn't it?

OP posts:
pussycatmomma · 25/01/2006 18:07

yes on both counts wannabe....
i have 3 cats (my fur-babies), Charlie, big ginger tom, v.old , Susie, huge fat white girl with a black tail, totally spoilt, very audrey hepburn, and Boris,my tiny babe, hes a brown tabby with huge ears and very mischievous. i love my puddycats
my sister is ok thankyou, she is doing well. She has her test/& scan next wednesday. she is getting really nervous the closer it gets, no signs symptoms or anything, but then she didnt last time either.
remind me wannabe, how old are you adn your dh and is this your first? do you live in uk?
we live in midlands, nr nottingham

wannaBe1974 · 25/01/2006 18:17

aw that is so cute, I love cats too, I have two, bubble who's a dark tortoiseshell, and squeak who is jet black (im sure she's a witch's cat!). I also have a dog called Bonnie.

I live in Swindon in Wiltshire at the moment, am 31 (32 on the 17th of Feb), and my DH is 31 as well (32 on the 23rd of feb), and we're trying for baby no 2, my DS is 3.2.

So is this your sister's 2nd go at IVF? and was she unlucky first time? or is she doing IVF for baby no 2 now?

Hi Everyone how exciting a shiny new thread!!
Hope everyone is well. Sorry about AF Northy,
Mumswish your TMI is probably just CM what day of you cycle are you? I have got this good site (I know, I know I keep harping on about it) but it will tell you about your CM shall I post the link again?
I've really just realised that my AF is due actually quite soon, not the best day at work for me, one child was sick in classroom - everyone else very interetsed in it all
Did some great cookery though!

pussycatmomma · 25/01/2006 18:24

bubble & squeak that is very cute
This is my sisters second "go" at IVF. She does not have any children yet, this will be her first if she is blessed. Last year has been a crazy one really. She has had several operations to check out probs, which resulted in her having both of her fallopeon tubes removed, she was then told at that time that the only chance she and her dh would have to concieve would be through ivf. She started her treatment for her first cycle last August, it seemed to take forever because of all the different drugs needed before you even get to the "egg & sperm" stage. Anyway, she got pregnant first go, we were all incredibly delighted, but then she became very ill as the pregnancy turned out to be ectopic and she lost the baby at around 7 weeks since then she has been through an awful bout of depression (hardly suprising) but is thankfully "on the up" again. This time she was able to use 2 of her frozen embryos from her first cycle, so the whole length of treatment hasnt been too bad for her this time.
The 2week wait is the worst thing, its jst the not knowing.

nowanearlyNicemum · 25/01/2006 18:25
