bunny2 · 03/12/2003 20:49

Mmm, I like Chritmassy names like Robin and Holly. Perfect for a seasonal conception.

Morgan · 04/12/2003 13:11

Congrats to all newly pg ladies. Have been ttc no 2 for about 18 months now and af due next Tues. althhough last month it was 5 days early. Did lots of bd'ing from day 11 - 16 so hopeful but do feel like i have a bad case of pmt at the mo and boobs are quite sore. DS 26 months not helping by driving me round the bend. Oh well not so long to wait now to see. Good luck to all those waiting too.

hana · 05/12/2003 00:11

I've got a rather funny picture of you cazzybabs trying to hide from your dd and peeing on those sticks at the same time!! Good luck!

hoxtonchick · 05/12/2003 00:16

Advice please! I am day 9 of my cycle. It's been super irregular recently, but used to be 28-30 days & I hope is getting back on track. I've bought some OPKs, & it says to start using them on day 11 if you have a 28 day cycle. What I'm aiming to do is bd every day for a week from day 10 onwards, & use the OPKs too. Is this a good plan? DP seems up for it () but I want to know if it's the right thing to do.

hana · 05/12/2003 00:17

Quacks - and anyone else that knows about temping -
I've read (and someone else posted saying the same thing) that you should have 3 hours of continuous sleep before you take temp....dd always crawls into bed with us at about 5ish....sometimes hear her and wake up, sometimes dont....would that make a difference (usually get out of be at 730)? I've taken temp now for ahhh 2 days. Well on my way I think.
Right. need to go to bed. will be cranky in am
thanks

hana · 05/12/2003 00:20

hoxtonchick - you seem to have all bases covered there! I don't know much about the sticks, and certainly everyday would cover it. Wouldn't every other day be just as good though? If you are oving and your cervical fluid is at the fertile stage (egg white?) sperm can live for up to 5 days. Someone will correct me on that I'm sure if I'm wrong....but lots and lots of luck to you this month!

hoxtonchick · 05/12/2003 00:55

Mmmmm, I'm a bit squeamish about the whole fluid thing , but I guess I should get over it. How exactly do you check? So you think every other day should be enough? Will relay this info to dp. Am aiming to do lots of internet research tomorrow, interspersed with a bit of work.

Thanks for answering hana. I hope you have lots of luck this month too. I've read about the problems you've been having & really hope everything is resolved soon

quackers · 05/12/2003 08:57

Hana, yes they say it could give a little bit of a false reading but these things happen. So just make a little note on your chart.

Hoxtonchick, Hi, check out www.fertilityfriend.com and download the handbook on ttc. It's fab and will tell you everything about CM!

dejags · 05/12/2003 11:24

Well. No good news for me either this month. AF was due yesterday (still hasn't arrived)... I did another test which was neg.

When we were trying to conceive DS it took ages and after a year they did the first round of fertility tests. Anyway I never actually got the results of them properly because I used the appointment I had booked to get the results to tell the doctor I was pregnant!

I went back to the Doc this am and asked him to drag the old test results out. He reviewed them and thankfully all is normal. So plenty of Bd'ing and not too much stressing seems to be the way forward.

Have a good weekend all..

M2T · 05/12/2003 14:47

Dejags - It could've been a faulty test???? Why don't you try again tomorrow if AF doesn't arrive.

Are you normally very regular?

hoxtonchick · 08/12/2003 10:30

thank you, quackers & twiglett. now on day 13, bd days 10 & 12 so far, & no surge on the OPKs. will keep weeing on the sticks & see what happens....

dejags · 08/12/2003 12:20

Hi all,

AF showed up this morning, this last cycle has been a bit odd. CD1 was 3rd November, then on 11th November I had a bit of spotting. So I carried on assuming that 3rd of Nov was CD 1. Based on this I have just had a 36 day (looooong) cycle. If I adjust it and take the 11th as CD 1 then it works out a perfect 28 day cycle... who knows.

Twiglett - I hope this is not the case with us. It took a year to fall with DS and I sincerely hope that it won't take that long again.

I am trying not to get too obsessed with TTC. With DS I only fell pg when I stopped thinking about it - we were in the first stages of fertility testing so I stopped thinking about getting pg, I have worked it back and realised that I was having blood tests to that check I was ovulating on the day DS was conceived.

How do you stop thinking about it?????

M2T · 08/12/2003 13:00

Dejags - I'm sure everything will be fine this time.

Back to bd'ing this month then..... just enjoy it. Your DH will!

Twigglet - I know you must have had a terrible time of it. It's certainly made you an eternal pessimist!!!

bluestar · 08/12/2003 14:47

Hoxtonchick, we must be close cycle buddies, I am on day 14, bd on days 10 & 12, and no surge for me on OPK yet either! What is your cycle length? Mine is 30 days at the moment (can be irregular but ok last couple of months).

hoxtonchick · 08/12/2003 15:41

oooh, exciting, bluestar. my cycle is a bit of a mystery to me at the moment. has been pretty irregular since i had ds (now 22 months), though i've been on the mini-pill since he was 3 weeks old. pre-ds it was 28-31 days i think (must find an old diary to check). BUT before coming off the pill at the end of september i hadn't had a period since july, this last one was the first. so will be quite surprised, but very delighted, to get pg this month.

fingers crossed for you too. have you used the OPKs before? i bought some last time, but was pg before getting chance to use them. not so this time. not sure i entirely believe them, but it's worth a go!

bluestar · 08/12/2003 16:03

Yes, have used OPKs before but always at the wrong time (cycle was alot longer than anticipated!). Now cycle is more regular, hoping it will work this time. Although have been reading that I should test afternoon and not in the morning (although Clearblue says you can) so will change times tomorrow. Think the next few days will be quite important so you all kow what I'll be up to! Good luck to you too.

hoxtonchick · 08/12/2003 16:12

yeah, i've been doing it in the afternoon, that's what the instructions said. but they are cheap ones bought over the internet! in fact, that's reminded me, better go & do it now.

i was trying to work out when i should be ovulating. it should be day 14 for a 28 day cycle, so the LH surge would be day 13 i think. had a bit of a funny tummy ache yesterday though, which could have been ov pains. i think that would be too early. made sure dp came to bed at the same time as me just it case . he is a bit horrified i'm posting all these details on the internet, but i pointed out that no-one knows who he is. yet....

Didn't mean to offend Twiglett. It just struck me in my hormonal state that you sounded a bit like the prophet of doom a couple of times. lol. I'm ever an optimist and tend to try to make people look on the hopeful side rather than the possible reality. Perhaps thats my flaw.
