About time I start a thread! Pom poms still shaking, bumps growing, babies and toddlers talk a plenty, while the support, laughs, hand holds and weebling continues...

Sending you a huge hug barbie I lost my 2 beloved childhood dogs of 12 yrs to bloody cancer, mother and daughter, one bone cancer the other lymphoma diagnosed within months of each other, vet came to our house and put them both to sleep together Sad One of the most heartbreaking times, totally sympathise and understand how awful it is for you right now.. No words, he will leave a huge hole... So very sorry for you hon... Sad

Reeling myself right now, my big sister is in hospital with pulmonary embolism and dvt... So shocked, just thankful it was found in time, my mum had one too just before our wedding and touch wood is fine now so just hoping for a speedy recovery, worrying and anxious time for us though, also frustrating we can't be there as she is up north and my mum just isn't able to do the journey with her excruciating arthritis Sad

4everhopeful · 18/07/2012 10:30

Lurk...

Just want to say a big thank you to Blue for acknowledging my Llo anniversary, you never fail to show such empathy and sincerity and its wholly appreciated.. Your words were so genuine and touching, especially your feeling it was a boy, bless you, though must admit to feeling she was a girl Smile nonetheless, was so lovely and refreshing to hear her being referred to as a baby, rather than just a miscarriage, as being 13 wks, and having weekly scans from wk 7, we had watched her grow into a baby with hands, fingers, toes and a face, and Ill never forget that, although the majority of people will never understand or get me for that, tbh I don't care... Sorry for the ramble but am a bit all over the place, what with worrying about my Dsister too, this will probably kill the thread, if I hadn't already... Sorry old habits of outpourings on here are hard to break...

OP posts:
cupcakefairy · 18/07/2012 12:51

4ever not killing the thread..and outpour all you like! So sorry to hear about your sis :( really hope she recovers quickly you must be so worried.

barbie so so sorry about poor Fred :( and goodness me how sad about dolly struggling with it too I really hope she doesn't take it too hard.

Sorry to dash through all but both dss napping so I'm going to eat cake & read my book x

littlebellsmum · 18/07/2012 20:12

barbie poor little Dolly and poor you. Never had my own dogs but have known enough friends with dogs to know just how hard it is when they have to leave, especially when you have to decide for them. Poor little Dolly too - probably with your moving too, Fred is such a part of home for her that she is probably even more attached. Hope the end is peaceful - love blues fb suggestion of the keepsake for Fred to take with him. Such a shame that you can't make the wedding too

4ever hope your big sis is Ok? DVT and PE is a really scary thing . You're sp right about blue - where do you get the right words and wisdom from. Clearly an old soul Smile

Love to all on another wet miserable July day - ah well, three days and the school breaks up for the winter summer break

moonmrs · 19/07/2012 09:32

Oh barbie this is the worst thing about having pets. We had to have one of our dogs put to sleep last year, it was heart breaking, even though you know that it?s something you have to do and that it?s the kindest thing, it doesn?t make it any easier and it?s still like losing a family member. Some people don?t get that though - I can remember when our family dog died, that had been around ever since I was tiny, she was 17 - a 'friend' said why are you so upset, it?s only a dog! When we had ours put to sleep last year, it was a week before I could even tell anyone at work and even then it was bloody hard to say it. Like the others have said, hope it will be peaceful for you all when the time comes.

4ever I refer to my two as ?babies?, for me it makes it easier although I guess that it is personal preference. I too carried one to 13 weeks, and you know only too well how much they have developed by that point. I can remember the doctor asking me if I wanted to see him (I always thought of him as a boy) and I said no. I?ll never forgive myself for that. It haunts me every day. Anyway all I?m trying to say is that it doesn?t matter what anyone else thinks, you remember how you need to, whatever makes it possible for you to get from one day to the next, after all, most people haven?t been through anything like you and have no room to comment (present company excepted of course). Also very sorry to hear about your sister ? wishing her a speedy recovery.

blue agree with the others, you always have such a lovely way with words, you seem to manage to say what I would like to but end up doing rather clumsily.

Well af arrived for me on Monday :( so only 2 more rounds of clomid to go. I am determined to do it, I really don?t want to go through more prodding and poking at the hospital. But obviously I will if it comes to that. As a separate matter, dh and I have been seriously considering fostering. We are rattling around in a house with spare bedrooms and we could easily give a child or 2 a temporary home. I know that it?s not a permanent thing and that I?d probably get too attached, but there are so many kids in our area that need help, it seems crazy not to consider it. I mean there?s a 2 month old kid who needs a home ? 2 months, that shocked me. For me it?s more about wanting to be a mum, it?s something I really can?t get over at the moment, and my desire is stronger than ever, and if it turns out that I am only ever a temporary one, well then that?s better than the alternative. For dh, although he agrees with me, he was put into care when he was young and spent a lot of time moving to and from different homes, and stayed with several foster families, so for him he says he?d like to be able to give something back. And then ultimately, if it turns out for whatever reason that we can?t have a baby together, we would go down the adoption route, and then any fostering that we?d done would stand us in good stead.

Big ramble, very sorry, was good to write it down. Intended to post more personals but now ran out of time Blush sorry. Hopefully back soon.

Rumours · 20/07/2012 10:29

4ever how's your dsis doing? Hope she's ok. This thread is a great place to outpour your thoughts and feelings, I may not reply all the time but I do 'listen'. Give your lovely whirlwind a big squeeze Smile

barbie how's Fred doing?

moon fostering is a great idea. Try and speak to other foster families to get a really good understandin of it, but from your post it sounds like you've given it lots of thought. Go for it, you have such a big heart and a lot of love to give Smile

4everhopeful · 20/07/2012 12:39

Thanks lovelies! Always feel a bit Blush after a ramble!

Rumours Dsis responding well to treatment thankfully but not out the woods yet, could be in hospital upto another 3wks.. Just spoke to her and so good to hear her voice, all been quite a shock.. Bless you, know you're always 'listening' Smile How's you and the boys? You started your assignment yet?

Barbie thinking about you all at such a sad time...

Moonmrs how inspiring to read yoxr post, so brilliant to have such a rewarding plan, we seriously considered adoption too.. However still very hopeful you will have your very own baby too, especially as still many options open to you..

Waves to everyone else, madly busy here, MIL and Nans bd get togethers this weekend, my poor 90yr old gt aunt unable to join us though, complications with her diabetes meds meant an overnight stay in hospital for her too, quite a week of it... Peppa pig live show and Summers first theatre trip tomorrow, should hopefully be fun!!!

littlebellsmum · 22/07/2012 23:13

moon just another comment on your wonderful idea of fostering. there is a foster mum at school - has had hundreds and is a granny herself now. Would love to have the time to do it - making a difference to some of these kids lives has got to be both challenging and really rewarding. Good luck if you go for it

Camping this weekend - it was dry and sunny. Hoorah! All dc's slept and even ate - all in the LBM garden good. Now onto the first week of the summer holidays and I'm not working - hurrah again :)

cupcakefairy · 23/07/2012 08:53

moon what a fabulous idea and you would be amazing at it. You can make such a difference to a child's life with fostering. Let us know how you get on looking into it. Sure there are loads of babies that need temporary care while waiting to be adopted and stuff, would be so hard to say goodbye but also so rewarding. I remember bawling at the pride of Britain awards at that lady who had fostered hundreds of babies, it was beautiful. By the way a friend of mine who's been TTC for ages just announced her pregnancy this week and she was on Clomid..yay!! What dose are you on? She had a couple of cycles of 50 and then upped to 100 which did the trick. Everything crossed for you.

lbm hooray the risk of booking camping paid off! so glad you had a good time, sounds perfect.

4ever how was peppa pig? Bet s had a ball.

Dh is off work today so we're off to the beach hooray! It's sad that I'm more excited by the fact we can finally get loads of washing done cos of the sun Grin

bluesatinsash · 23/07/2012 13:29

onmylunchhour.com Brew

4ever - glad your sister is doing OK but that must have given you all a big fright. DVT is scary especially as it can come out of nowhere.

moon loving reading your energised posts of late Smile. Marriage is so obviously agreeing with you Grin. Fostering is a wonderful thing to do, I wish I had that extra oomph to consider it as it can transform a child's life. There was an interview on radio 2 yesterday with a woman who had befriended a gang in London and one of the boys used to break into houses just to sit on the couch and pretend he was part of a family Sad (His abusive step dad had comeout of prison and his Mum chose to live with him rather than her son Still have all fingers and toes crossed for a clomid BFP x

cupcake enjoy your day at the beach with your DH and DS1 and DS2 Smile

LBM fab news that your camping is going well. We've all to get a heatwave apparently.

My Kindle touch arrived on Saturday and I was tucked up in bed with it last night Smile

Waves to everyone else, better get back to work x

4everhopeful · 23/07/2012 17:25

Just seen the Olympic torch come through our town! Very exciting! Grin My poor baby not impressed though, very poorly with a rotten cold Sad

OP posts:
littlebellsmum · 23/07/2012 19:49

4ever rotten day to be poorly. BB is also sick - cold and temperature and got sent home from nursery. Now tucked up in bed. Torch is quite exciting though - this time next week we will have been to the Olympics - getting quite excited now - BB isn't coming mind.

blue Kindle touch - sounds nice but I can't get my head roud reading on a screen rather than a nice book with turned down corners etc

cupcake hope you enjoyed doing all the washing and watching it dry the beach

barbie How's Fred doing? Hope things aren't too difficult for you all.

Am loving summer - went to our local outdoor pool today - child soup and so not much room to swim but fun none the less

bluesatinsash · 23/07/2012 20:32

LBM "child soup" - ha ha ha ha Grin.

4everhopeful · 24/07/2012 01:51

Hello ladies, hope you're all well.

Thought you may like to know that curlyboy made an appearance in the world 3 weeks ago SmileSmileSmile He was a good weight and I've seen a photo and he is such a cutie Smile curly says sorry for being awol but she will be back soon

Ramadan started for us so no food or water from around 2.30am until after 9pm which is quite testing in this heat as well as potty training Saara.

Will be back soon. Special kisses to my poorly cyber nieces and anyone else x

Neeko · 24/07/2012 20:15

Sending a hug to the poor sick babies Sad. It's so horrible when they are ill.

Moon echo what the others are saying. I'm full of admiration for the fostering plan. I've seen the difference it can make to some of the kids I teach and I think it's brilliant if you can do that for someone. Smile

LBM Yay to a sunny camping trip. Weather is still pretty rubbish up here. Enjoy the holidays.

Barbie How are you? I've been thinking of you.

Buddha haven't heard from you in a while. Are you ok?

Blue Your hols sounded great. Welcome to kindle heaven Grin I LOVE mine!

Louey how are you coping with the hols so far?

Rumours Hope the studying is going well. Aren't the holidays flying in? When is DS2's SALT meeting.

Cupcake Hope all is well with you and you're getting some sunshine at last.

All good here, but busy. Not sure where I find the time to work! I'm still working my way through the couchto5k plan. Very impressed with myself that I'm sticking to it. Not lost an ounce though! Grin

Neeko · 24/07/2012 20:19

Aww hi Saabs Thanks for the update. Good luck with Ramadan and potty training.

Huuuge congratulations to the Curly family.Grin Grin Grin So pleased to hear your news.

Rumours · 24/07/2012 21:53

Congratulations curlyfamily Smile

neeko ds2's appointment is in two weeks, and yes the hols are flying by too fast!!!

My kindle has broken Sad ds2 got hold of it. I rang amazon today and I'm getting a brand new one for £40, and they're upgrading my keyboard one to a keyboard one with 3G! Because they're our of stock of mine. Not bad at all, I need it back soon though so I can get on with 50 shades, thanks neeks it is addictive Hmm Grin

sabs no water!!! That must be really hard! Hope the potty training is going well, I'm going to start properly after our holiday.

4ever I posted my second to last assignment off yesterday, just the biggy to go, it's worth 50% of my marks so will start it when I get back from holiday.

Hope poorly babies feel better soon.

Rumours · 24/07/2012 21:54

sabs obviously I'm not going to start potty training, I managed that years ago, ds2 is going to start potty training.

Neeko · 24/07/2012 22:19

Grin at idea of you potty training rumours and eek to broken kindle! DD1 asked me today:"Mummy, how long is that book? You've been reading it for ever!" She thought it was all one book! Smile Can you read through your pc/laptop? Christian won't wait forever Wink

littlebellsmum · 24/07/2012 22:32

rumours lol at you potty training Grin

second day at home today for BB with daddy - think she's better now though. Have a beach plan for Friday, so hope she is better for that.

curly Huge congrats on CurlyBoy - hope curleygirl is being lovely for her mummy, daddy and baby brother

sabs lovely to see you - Ramadan is a really hard one this year isn't it? Does it go backwards or forwards ie it next year shorter or longer days? Bet you are one of the few people hoping the sun goes away soon :)

4ever hope your poorly girl is better soon.

SabsFabulous · 24/07/2012 23:09

I have to confess, I finished the 50 shades trilogy in a week Blush It is sooo addictive! My excuse was that I had to finish it before Ramadan started, especially as I'm meant to only have pure thoughts when I'm fasting Grin Wink

lbm Ramadan follows the lunar cycle, so comes 10 days earlier every year so in around 15 years or so we'll be back to fasting in December for around 10 hours, which seems so easy compared to now! and yes, I normally love the sun, but not so much this week!

SabsFabulous · 24/07/2012 23:10

rumours best of luck with the potty training - for ds2 that is!

4everhopeful · 25/07/2012 10:37

Congratulations to TheCurlyfamily on the new arrival! Grin

Hello Sabs! Thanks for letting us know! Nice to 'see' you! Good luck with Ramadan, and the potty training!

Lbm hows BB? Hope you got to the beach in the end and glad to hear you had a sunny camping trip! Hurrah for the long awaited sunshine!

Cupcake how was your day at the beach? Must confess been loving the washing drying weather too! Smile Summer loved Peppa by the way, so did we! Grin It was so brilliant and she was so good we have booked up Ben and Holly at same theatre in November! Grin

Rumours another one stuck in to 50 shades eh? I'm so intrigued now think I must give it a go! Good luck with that and essay writing and potty training too!

Neeko well done on the couchto5k plan, sooooooo need to do something too, desperately need to shift at least a stone, ideally 2! though would prefer to put 2stone of babyweight on more Grin

Louey how did flying solo go with your 3?

Barbie been thinking of you too..

Blue enjoy your kindle! Are you 'doing' (snigger) 50 shades too? Wink

Moonmrs waves to you my lovely, booked that honeymoon yet?

Well, my little darlin has thankfully now made a full recovery, just in time for me to get it, a stinking cold in this weather is nooooooo fun at all.. Also got a BFN this morning so a bit Sad Only one cycle left for treatment 'window'.. Confused Oh well, the sun is shining, the paddling pool and garden await... Smile

OP posts:
moonmrs · 25/07/2012 19:39

Congratulations curly :) so pleased to hear of curlyboys arrival, hope you are all doing well - thanks for upating us sabs

Barbie hope you are all doing ok

Cupcake I'm on 50mg but I'm having monthly blood tests which apparently are showing I'm responding to it, but nothing seems to be happening for us Hmm

Blue I am really enjoying being married, as is dh, we both thought it wouldnt make any difference, but it somehow has in a really lovely way, I didnt think I could possibly love him any more than I did, but I do Blush Happy reading on your new kindle.

Lbm glad you finally got some decent weather to camp in, lol at child soup too! Hope bb is getting better.

4ever hope s is getting better too. Sorry to hear about your bfn - know we're in completely different places, but we only have 1 month left of clomid now, so I empathise with desperately trying to make it happen in a certain timescale. Big hug.

Rumours lol at potty training, did you use pull ups Wink full of admiration for you managing to fit in 'school work' around everything else you do.

Neeko well done on sticking to your couchto5k. I'm trying to find some form of exercise I enjoy now that my zumba classes have all been cancelled :(

We have finally booked our honeymoon Grin off to Tunisia for a week in october - can't wait, am so excited! Dh doesnt really do excited, he is a very much take everything in his stride type of bloke, but even he cant stop talking about it.

Thanks for everyones positive feedback about the fostering. I think the plan atm is to wait until the clomid baby possibility is over, have our honeymoon, and then get stuck into applying.

Must go, sorry I know I havent posted to everyone, but I am hopefully getting a bit better at this now :)
