About time I start a thread! Pom poms still shaking, bumps growing, babies and toddlers talk a plenty, while the support, laughs, hand holds and weebling continues...

mls they would induce tomorrow by their policies as I'm +12 by their dates..which is why I have to meet a consultant today. My midwife agrees with my date so hoping it should be fine. Think I would concede to induction by next tues though I just haven't for the energy for waiting longer than that. So scared of it taking days though or ending with c section & desperately don't want to leave ds for that long :(

lbm I'm walking miles every day & bouncing on the ball & having sex.. don't believe any of these things work but need to feel I'm doing something.

Woke at 3 with lower back pain, felt so hopeful it could be it but again, nothing..

Sorry to be so moany.

4everhopeful · 21/05/2012 09:13

Cupcake have you tried eating pineapples to help? My sil did every day & came on her due day, google it, it contains a specific enzyme meant to trigger things... Know what you mean about being worried about a long induction like i had & leaving ds for too long, in my case lbm is right that we enjoyed it, sounds bizarre, but was all part of the excitement and relief that we had finally made it to that stage! Now with Summer it would be awful & if we are lucky enough to do it again, Id be hoping to go hospital at last minute once contractions were regular & watrs broke so Id be away from her for as short a time poss.... Really feel for you, vividly remember your stress last time around so hoping very much things get rolling asap.... Ooooh also what about raspberry leaf tea? x

cupcake remember you can go at any time, it could start in the next ten minutes so don't get too down about it all. When I woke up on the day before I had ajay I had a sweep that day but didn't feel anything apart from a little discomfort down below, I was most surprised and put out when the contractions started at half past midnight, I was fast asleep and tried to get back to sleep but ajay was having none of it.
Sending you labour vibes xx

BuddhaBelly · 21/05/2012 09:43

Cupcake I'm doing a little labour dance for you Smile

cupcakefairy · 21/05/2012 11:16

Thanks ladies :) think it's cos baby is back to back again makes me think labour will never start naturally..I was told ds' head was flexed the wrong way to press on the cervix properly & that's why he didn't come naturally.. but maybe some b2b babies do come by themselves.
Yep 4ever have been drinking lots of RLT & will get pineapple but heard you'd have to eat about 70 to get enough of the enzyme..still, worth a try!!
Just so much harder this time round with ds to think about,we can't just spend days in hospital :(

But anyway, my sis did help put things into perspective for me this morn that some people have much more serious problems & I am incredibly lucky to be having this baby..so I'll shut up now!

VJayazzle · 21/05/2012 12:25

cupcake your ds will be fine and if it comes to it your dh will have to look after him while you stay in hospital, but it won't be for long and you'll soon be together as a family of 4. I've been there and I know I've said this before, but once I knew that dh and ds were sorted I was able to get on with it, I was sad that dh wasn't there as much as he was with cjay, but we all were ok.
Now relax and go into labour Smile

VJayazzle · 21/05/2012 16:40

cupcake did you relax and go into labour? Shock

MummysLittleSunbeams · 21/05/2012 17:07

Cupcake Kitty was b2b & I went into labour naturally. In fact they didn't know she was in that position until her head came out! In the States they all swear by starting things off with castor oil but I think that's a bit extreme tbh.

cupcakefairy · 21/05/2012 18:11

Lol vjay sadly not! :) just spent most of afternoon at appointment as we went to the wrong hospital first (numpties) then had to wait ages.. anyway, am booked for induction on 29th now so we'll see if my body can kick into gear before then!

mls good to know things can start normally with b2b, am still hopeful it might. Yes been reading about castor oil but apparently not advisable as gives you serious runs which could carry on during labour & make you dehydrated ..sounds a bit crazy!

cupcakefairy · 21/05/2012 20:57

mls you will be proud, I'm having acupuncture in the morning..my first time, I'm a bit Confused but want to try everything!

MummysLittleSunbeams · 21/05/2012 21:06

Wooohoooo fabberooni cupcake well done! Don't forget to look out for clary sage oil too. It's brilliant that they are delaying your induction by a few days. How the beeping hell did you manage to go to the wrong hospital??!

I've been having loads of braxtons this evening. Been rushing around washing/cleaning/ironing/cooking etc all day though so I think I've just overdone it a bit.

littlebellsmum · 21/05/2012 21:39

cupcake my dd1 was b2b and also started naturally, you'll be fine. Your baby just wants a little more cooking that's all. When's ds's birthday? maybe baby wants to share his birthday - would mean one cake and party for a few years, so, no bad thing :).
As Vjay said, I have also heard of babies who were waiting untill sibling was sorted and then things started moving. Enjoy the rest while you can - it could be tonight
Re pineaplle - remember being in tesco;'s just before dd2 was born next to a very pregnant lady holding a pineapple - nothing else just the pineapple. I think I saw her afterwards with the baby but never was brave enough to ask if the pineapple worked!!

MLS and rest now, lovely - all that rushing around in your condition...

cupcakefairy · 21/05/2012 22:42

lbm ds' birthday on 5th so baby will definitely be here before then! Hooray for another b2b spontaneous labour too..thanks :)

mls lol I know it's stupid but the consultants do clinics at both hospitals & we (or I!) just got confused.. not helping to keep the blood pressure down!!

MummysLittleSunbeams · 22/05/2012 20:22

Just lurking.....

Loueytb3 · 22/05/2012 22:11

Lurkity lurk...

mls take it easy! Now is the time to rest and enjoy the summer cos it won't last long

cupcake hoping you are in labour ....and you avoid induction. C-sections are not awful though, although I can understand you want to be away from DS for as short as time as possible.

I feel for you both - I never had to wait like this as my 3 didn't want to wait until full term (or rather my consultants didn't). But I'm very excited too about imminent babies and moon becoming mrsmoon!!!

Waves to you all, will try and do a proper post soon I promise.

MummysLittleSunbeams · 23/05/2012 07:39

Lurk....
