charlee- im so sorry hun, am amazed youve had 6 mc now thats awful there are many reasons why mc happens at a early stage and treatments too. from memory there are sticky blood conditions where taking asprin continues the pg and there are hormonal imbalances which taking extra progesterone continues the pg. definatly get refered to an expert who can do all these tests.
other people im sure will no more than me, but just trying to help. but for now take it easy{{{{hugs}}}}

oinker · 14/02/2006 14:55

Coathanger · 15/02/2006 11:34

Okay, I have come skulking back coz I am desperate and need to ask a question

Have any of you ever experienced a metallic taste in your mouth when you were first PG? I have had a horrid taste in my mouth for a couple of days and I can't get rid of it, even when I brush my teeth! It isn't distictively metallic but I can see why it is described as that.

I think I am on CD25 (but Af was a bit weird last month so not 100%) I don't really want to test til next week but I am going out of my mind

OP posts:
rubles · 15/02/2006 11:45

Remind me again CH - what happened with AF last month? How have your cycles been for the past 3 months?

Coathanger · 15/02/2006 11:50

I had a couple of month at the end of last year that were weird. I had 3 very long bleeds followed by a short break only to start bleding again. Last month I was a week late but I had a normal length AF. So going by the first day of AF las tmonth I should be due AF this weekend coming.

OP posts:
rubles · 15/02/2006 11:54

Ooh, that is all over the place. I know my bf gets a metallic taste as the first symptom of being pg but she is clueless about when her AF is due to arrive so I don't know if it has been as early as this.
It isn't blood is it - or some sort of gum infection???

Coathanger · 15/02/2006 11:57

No I have very healthy gums and teeth [smug emoticon] !! No blood in there at all, and this taste isn't like blood - more yucky with a slight metally tang

kreamkrackers · 15/02/2006 12:08

well they do say it is a sign of pregnancy, but i never got it but i also don't get morning sickness (well been sick a few times this time but that's because i've been ill). did you get it in your other pregnancies? you could try buying a first response, because your periods are all over the place it's going to be hard to say when your af is due so it might be worth investing in a first response. fingers crossed for you.

Coathanger · 15/02/2006 12:16

Didn't get this at all in my other PGs so really have no idea. Will buy someting like a First Response but not til next week, and I will only do one regardless of result. I can't keep chucking money away on those things!!

OP posts:
FirstNikki · 15/02/2006 12:24

CH - I had that like you say not quite metal (I always imagined it would be like a coin in my mouth) but similar it has also effected my fillings and sometimes they feel as though they are going to fall out, like a weighty feeling in my teeth. I checked for blood as had bleeding gums last time but they were fine. found it increased with tea and coffee...

fingers crossed for you

Charlee · 15/02/2006 12:26

Hi thanks for all your lovley messages. I havent seen a gp or anyone yet. Im scared they wont do anything as im so young. (im 18 by the way) but i do so want another baby.

Talking of the sticky blood thingy though, i had blood clots on my lungs with ds and with my dt's before i misscarried the first time so maybe?

Im pretty sure it is a m/c the bleeding has stopped now but it was 4 days of black thick clots (sorry tmi) so i almost definate but i will see the g.p to make sure it has all gone.

Thanks again i will keep you updated.

kreamkrackers · 15/02/2006 12:35

charlee i hope you do get some answers soon to help you get the baby you want. it shouldn't matter about your age, my sister's started getting help with her fertility and she's 22 and already has a ds who's nearly 4. there is a safe amount of asprin that some women need to take in pregnancy so you will have to see how much is safe for you. put your feet up and rest for now though {{{{{hugs}}}}}

HellKat · 16/02/2006 07:53

Good luck testers

oinker · 16/02/2006 08:15

Charlee, it really doesn't matter how old you are. I have noticed some really young looking women in my clinic. You have to be assertive when you go to see your gp. Demand an appointment at the hospital. They will do a series of blood tests on you and your partner. The results from this will take about 6 weeks. It'll probably take you about 3mths to get a first appointment. Start the ball rolling now. The NHS won't offer you anything unless you ask.
Good luck

By the way have you been to the EPU for a scan just to check whats going on. It seems to me that you have bled for a short time only. I have always bled/passed clots for about 2weeks.
It's worth a check.
Hope you are feeling better.

oinker · 16/02/2006 08:16

Oh forgot

GOOD LUCK TESTERS

HellKat · 16/02/2006 08:20

C'mon testers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

In total suspense lol.

Charlee- Totally agree with Oinker. Does'nt matter how old you are. Loss is loss. It hurts the same. It does sound like an awfully short time to have bled. Forgive me for being insensitive hun but are you sure you lost it? For the first 7 weeks of this pg I bled so heavily i was actually flooding a few times. Lost masses of very large clots, was in agony. I (and the hosp) swore I'd mc. It was still there. Everytime i had a big bleed (bright red blood too) and clotted, I thought it was it. But it turned out to be excess womb lining and nothing to do with the pg. Get yourself checked out hun to be 100% sure. At least then you'll be able to move forward and hopefully get these looked into so you can ttc asap! {{{{{{{{{{{{hugs}}}}}}}}}}}}} to you & your family. x

Coathanger · 16/02/2006 09:14

Sorry guys, not testing here. AF must have heard me chatting yesterday about testing coz she showed up early this morning.

Itis light and pink at the mo, so if it doesn't get any heavier I might test later on in the week
