Hey All!
Im currently on CD 20 so around 8-10 days until the AF arrives or I can test :D Just thought there may be some others that are waiting and driving themselves crazy! Thought we could hopefully share our BFP within the next few weeks, and keep each other sane! :D

DH21 Grin Been there I can tell ya! LauraM20 it is so frustrating, some doctors now insist you wait 2 years. I think the rationale behind it is that as more people are starting families later, it does take longer to fall pregnant on average, even when there are no 'problems' so to speak, as fertility falls when you are in your 30s, so to avoid excessive unnecessary referrals they make everyone wait and try a bit longer. Doesn't make it any less frustrating. I was very lucky my GP was willing to refer me after only a year when ttc #1, but it was obvious from my irregular cycles that something was up. Following that, I went back when I wanted to ttc #2, explained I had PCOS and was fast-tracked in :-)

Beeblebear · 27/01/2012 19:27

Anyone interested in creating a non TTC stats list? Age, location etc??

Beeblebear: Age 29 (30 on Feb 26th - really really hoping for BFP before then! What is it with that age 30 mark being so scary in the ttc world?)
Married in July 2011. No children(unless you count my husband sometimes).
Live in Calgary, Alberta, Canada

www.ask8ball.net/

Ask the magic 8 ball if this month is your month.

It told ME all signs point to YES! (like i need one more thing to get my hopes up)

DesperateHousewife21 · 27/01/2012 20:03

Magic 8 ball said no when I asked if I was preg. I don't believe it!

I'm 31 :( I know we're capable - or were - because we had an accident really early on in our relationship. Six years on, and now we're married, and I'm so scared we left it too late.

I hate the world today. I just cried my heart out over a story about orangutans, and how evil humans are and it's not even like I can get my hopes up thinking it's crazy baby hormones since I haven't even ovulated this cycle yet!

Scared I'm too old, hate the world, want to go live on a desert island.

Laura that's so stupid about the 18 month wait! i keep seeing the ads on the tube for the baby clinic....London baby clinic? It really doesn't seem that expensive...perhaps worth a check so you're not at the mercy and whims of your (evil) GP? At least might make you feel more in control :)

bettybat · 27/01/2012 21:30

Oh forgot to say - this is only really month three of proper TTCing with intention. I think someone else up thread said it made them feel better about AF coming when they realised they were a few days off with OV. That definitely happened last month but still...31...even if we hit the right day, it feels like it's a really low chance of taking.

bettybat · 27/01/2012 21:41

Me again :)

I've mentioned it on a few other threads so please do take a read - I'm a huge believer in all things natural and that what you put in your body has a huge impact on things.

I don't take any synthetic version of anything - not even folic acid. I take the natural follate instead. I got really sick with stress over the summer from work, and saw a specialist. He explained how stress can affect menstruation/conception hormones (estrogen dominance) and how I would need to get my progesterone back up. I didn't want anything synthetic so started researching...and came across Maca root.

It's a Peruvian root - a bit like a turnip. When the Spanish invaded way back in 16-whatever, the settlers found the high mountain atmosphere had a negative effect on them - the women couldn't carry to full term and various other things. They started copying the indigenous tribes, who all consumed the maca root. The Spanish copied, and saw an end to their conception problems.

Who knows if it works! I mainly take it to reduce stress, deal with lack of energy and maintain a better hormone balance but if a good side effect is help with fertility, so be it! And men can take it too, so that's kind of cool.

Anyway - happy reading :) natural-fertility-info.com/maca

BB - im sorry that your feeling so low and hating the world but it will get better its just horrid that its not much easier!!!!!!!! getting pregnant is so random and the odds are stacked high then the wait and the hope it sticks!!! the pressure is awful - my cycle changed from 28 to 33 this month so when i was feeling ill and slight cramping i was feeling this was my time and then a day after your AF came, AF arrived gutted! now im so confused to know when i should be swi and sometimes totally knackered cant do it then the guilt comes and i feel a failure!!
but im holding onto hope and since the thread we have had 3 BFP so why would it not be our time this round! i will sit next to u and we can go through this wait together!!! im aiming right now at EOD if i can!!!!!!Grin

DesperateHousewife21 · 27/01/2012 21:48

bb sorry you're feeling rubbish, it can get you down can't it? Alot of my friends are in their 30s and they conceived fairly quickly so I'm sure it's not your age. It will happen!

countmyblessings just dtd every 2-3 days then you're bound to hit one of the right days. If your energy levels are up to it of course.
I find once I've put ds to bed is a good time for us so we're not tired and when it comes to going to bed I can just go straight to sleep!

bettybat · 27/01/2012 21:54

Awwww countmyblessings that's exactly how I feel too....confused about when, scared it's not enough. Yes, I'm right there with you too :)

DH21 thanks so much too, your kind words have me welling up again!

ImpatientOne · 27/01/2012 21:58

BB I'm 31 too and have had 4 cycles TTC (7 cycles since coming off Cerazette) so sounds like we are very much in the same boat.

I get spotting for a couple of days before AF (started yesterday :( ) which is often linked with progesterone so that Maca info is very interesting to me - thanks! I really wonder about all these things as one reason I was on Cerazette is because I used to get severe migraines as a result of oestrogen withdrawal during the break on other pills...

Anyway going to try the clear blue monitor this month and see if that throws any light - I have warned DH that you get lots of high fertile days in the first month and he says that's no problem for him Grin will just enjoy that side for now and try not to worry too much!!

wifey6 · 27/01/2012 22:03

Hi everyone....just popping by to see 3 BFP!! Wow ladies...that's wonderful news.
For all the ladies who have been visited by AF- like me this month...let next month be out month!
Feel a bit better today...really got my hopes up this month & couldn't stop feeling crap. But in a very strange way...after all the issues I had after having my DS...I just kind of feel relieved that my body is finally functioning properly again. Bettybat...I too like to take the natural approach with regard to medicines etc...it's worked wonders for me when after 12 monts of consultancy care & synthetic hormones just wouldn't work....I discovered holistic methods & it truly has changed my life. Fingers crossed ladies that 2012 is the year of MN babies for all us deserving ladies. Smile

bettybat · 27/01/2012 22:04

IO I was also on Cerazette - came off in late September, so yes - we're in very, very similar positions.

This hormone imbalance is very much an issue for me. I started getting a never-ending headache late summer, with burning cheeks and hot flushes. My GP mentioned pre-menopausal (OMG!) and then decided, it was stress from work.

DH works in health and fitness, and his head coach agreed - they set me up with a client of theirs, who is a specialist in women's health. He normally charges £300 for a consultation Shock but DH arranged some private training sessions with him. He confirmed the suspicion of hormones imbalance and recommended upping my progesterone...and the I came across Maca.

cakesareyummy · 27/01/2012 22:08

Hello! Sorry you're having a down day Betty. Like dh21 said you are not that old and fertility generally declines more from 35, not 31 (sorry to those who are 35, I'm not intending to upset but want to reassure Betty). Most of my friends only got pregnant after 32 and many in late 30s. Fingers crossed for you and everyone else.

Laura, maybe try a different GP and maybe (whispers) stretch the truth about how long you've been ttc... Or get baseline blood tests done privately if you can for peace of mind? It's rubbish that the GP was so dismissive.

How are you doing on holding out til next week to test dh21? I had a moment of madness last night and did a late evening poas!! I knew it would be neg and it was. Wrong time, too early and no symptoms!!

cakesareyummy · 27/01/2012 22:16

Realised that my last post implies 31 years is a bit old and over 35 is ancient Blush . Sorry if I inadvertently offended anyone!!!

I am in that age bracket too if that helps!

browneyesblue · 27/01/2012 22:22

I know how scary and confusing it can be bb - like the others said, it seems so random at times and it can really get on top of you. I just wanted to say that 31 is nothing to worry about, honestly. I was 34 when I had DS - DH and I tried for nearly a year and I was convinced there was a problem. It turned out it probably just took a bit longer because I didn't ovulate every month (maybe missed 1 or 2 a year). It happened in the end though.

I'm now 36, so felt that same 'maybe I'm too old' feeling this time. Well I'm not too old, nowhere near, and you certainly aren't. Also, in the UK, most women have babies between the ages of 30 and 34, so you're right on target :) Add to that the fact that you know you're capable, and the odds are stacking further in your favour. I do hope it happens for you soon.

The maca root link looks interesting - thanks for sharing :)

browneyesblue · 27/01/2012 22:24

Not offended at all cakesareyummy Grin

bettybat · 27/01/2012 22:52

Not offended either cakesareyummy! Though still getting used to the whole thirty+ thing... :)

Just had scallops and spinach, very tasty, and all you lovely people have really cheered me up and made me feel so much better - so thank you.

Onwards and upwards for all of us, yes?

Beeblebear · 28/01/2012 04:02

Wouldn't ya know, but both last month and this month dh wasn't in the mood on both predicted ov days. Hoping the app on phone is wrong, or that swi from last night will carry us through.

It's not like he did it on purpose. He didn't even know about the app.

Oh well :(

DesperateHousewife21 · 28/01/2012 08:11

beeble that must have been annoying. My dh isn't allowed to say that, he'd get it anyway!

cake I'm getting v impatient now but really want to wait til at least tues to test because I'll be awful if I get a neg even a false one.

bettybat · 28/01/2012 08:21

beeble, I debated between sharing the days with my DH - is it too much pressure, or would do men enter into the competitive spirit and rise to the occasion...Hahaha!

Would it be possible to let him know - just say, look love, I've not wanted to try it this way because it would be lovely and romantic and all that to just DTD just because....but two months now, TWO MONTHS, we've missed the day and quite honestly, it's just not cricket.

As much as I seriously fancy my DH, and god help me, I do, I just don't know if DTD every other day is logistically possible and I'd rather have a focus over a few days to be sure.

DesperateHousewife21 · 28/01/2012 08:30

I guess it depends on how much you dtd anyway when youre not ttc. Dh and I have pretty much been an every few days couple do its no different now when it's for a purpose.

pippilongsmurfing · 28/01/2012 09:59

I'm on CD 18, so can't wait 10 more days to test (although obv. Ill have to!).

Arrgghh, why can some people have babies so easily, and for some of us it's like finding a needle in a haystack?!

Come on day 28!!! I need a BFP.
