I've decided my cycles are just too erratic to predict so am on a mission to borrow a CBFM (aka the Shag Dictator) to try and help me figure things out. I've asked on another thread and they're investigating for me, but thought I'd ask here too. Might pop over to PESH actually and see if Le Diffed have one knocking around.

I'm too much of a skinflint to buy one, though I am "watching" several second hand ones on EBay at the moment incase a bargain appears!

One of my friends had her baby yesterday, 5 weeks early. A traumatic section by all accounts. And today they thank the bubs has Downs. Feel really sad for them. They are late 30s and tried for ages and ages. I hope they are ok once it has had a chance to sink in.

Oh your poor friends, euro :( I can't imagine that. But it is seriously something which can happen to anyone. I knew a 21 year old who had a Down's baby once. Lovely child, but he was very difficult.

Hello BESHs

Just had ultrasound scan to check for pcos etc. Was feeling quite emotional about it as obviously I'd rather be having an ultrasound for other reasons but tbh I was distracted by the novelty of seeing my insides.

Was only expecting an external scan but she did an internal as well, rather strange to have TBI sitting there while a lady put a probe up my fanjo (complete with condom) but we shall have to get used to that sort of thing I guess. She was exactly the right sort of nurse, very kindly and down-to-earth.

Anyway she said she couldn't see anything unusual but is sending the pics to the doc. Know I should be pleased although was kind of hoping there'd be an explanation for all the weirdness a secret baby hiding in my womb

Blonde glad the scan was ok, if undignified. When I had my scan for PCOS the nurse said she couldn't see anything, but when my consultant saw the results she said my scan "had all the classic signs"

I'm not a "standard" PCOS sufferer, I'm not overweight and I don't have hairyness issues. My only symptom that "fits" is my bloody awful skin which at times resembles as 14yo boy rather than a 30yo woman!
Do you have any similar "symptoms"?

Thanks Cave. I'm the opposite, fat and hairy but with great skin (apart from the odd spot when I've plucked my chin!). Mmm that does make me sound attractive. I've also had problems with depression and exhaustion. Coupled with the apparent lack of ovulation, pcos seemed a possibility. I guess I will just have to wait & see what the doc says. Need to book in for this cycle's blood test too. It's all so dreary, isn't it?

I had been temping & using opks but the last couple of months I feel a bit like, what's the point? Trying v hard not to feel like that about the sechs too but it does feel like we're on a hiding to nothing. I had also been thinking about getting a cbfm but wasn't convinced it wasn't a massive waste of money. if you do get one, let me know how you get on.

There are quite a few on eBay, so depending on whether Bugs still wants first dibs on Kat's I may go that route. Just have to make sure I remember when the auctions are ending!!
