Thanks for being positive secret but I am sure I didn't ov when the monitor said now.I tested again this morning and BFN. Am now on CD30, got my first peak on CD 9. So if I ov'd on CD 11 then it's LP of 19+ days.... Usual LP is 11 or 12 days but it has been 14 days before.

I also got a + OPK on CD 11 so then I might have ov'd CD 13 so today would be 17DPO and so I am not pregnant.

Now I'm back to the position I am usually in waiting to ov. I wonder if the funny cramps I have was something to do with ov. It lasted for 2 days and now I'm fine. Do you think 2 days is too long for ovulation pains?? I'm going to google it now.

Going to make app with Dr again in the new year to get referred. I could have been referred sooner but I was oving then so I didn't think there was much point. I haven't ov'd since september now.

HettyTurner · 30/12/2011 21:17

Just googled and it sounds like it might have been ov pains, just got to wait and see now. We completely missed it again if it was!

FriendofDorothy · 30/12/2011 22:44

Hello everyone.

I am a bit bemused as I am on Day 9 and I have got a peak reading - I usually ovulate about day 14 or 15. Any explanations or ideas anyone?

A quick check in for me. Still no AF so peak reading was def wrong. If I ov'd when I had the cramps then I am 12DPO so AF might arrive in the next few days (with any luck) and we can start working on an october baby.

Hi everyone, hope all is going well.

Secret I too am confused about this! I've read that dtd every day around fertile time shouldn't matter if DH sperm is okay. However, I've also read that every other day is adequate. Last month, we dtd every day for about 11 days throughout my possible fertile period. This month, we've tried every other day but every day following positive OPK (and 'peak' days, which I get the day after my positive OPK). My DH is getting his SA this week so we might change how we do things depending on his results. However, if we assume everything is okay, then I don't think it really matters (although, it supposedly takes 24 hours for sperm to replenish, so twice a day is just too much!)

Hetty do you BBT? I started doing this last cycle and it's been really helpful. Last month it looks like I ov'd on the second day of my peak readings, while this month it looks like I ov'd on the first day of my peak readings. It might be worth a shot to get a better insight into your cycles?

FriendofDorothy don't worry too much about getting an early peak. The first month I used it I got a peak early (either cd 11 or 12), while last month was cd15 and this month cd16. Most people don't ov the same time each month so perhaps you just o'd early this cycle? As per my advice to Hetty I would recommend BBT charting (at least for the first few cycles) to see how your cycles work each month.

Welcome Watersign76. I know it's too late now, but I would recommend saving your sticks. How did it work out for you?

How are all the other ladies getting on? Zara1984 how did you get on? Did you get a BFP? Hopingsoon not heard from you in a while, is everything going okay? JNO18 and Pupcake are you still with us?

Good luck everyone and here's to our 2012 babies!!! Smile

HopingSoon · 08/01/2012 19:13

Hi LittleHappenstance, sorry have been lurking in the background reading everyone's messages just haven't contributed for a while.
Good luck with your DH's SA this week. Fingers crossed all is ok!
How did your 21 day bloods go?
Sorry was just reading back on the thread and realised I never answered you last time ! How rude! I have had bloods done which showed my LH level to be thru the roof! (can't remember figures) but FSH was in range so they made me happier as my colleagues wife just had her bloods done and was told she is going thru early menopause (she is mid 30's) poor thing!
Then had a U/S which showed nothing but from my bloods and very irregular periods was told I have PCOS.
DH gets his SA results on Friday, I can't make the dr appt due to work commitments so will prob have to go back to drs after that to discuss next steps.
I'm on mth 4 of using CBFM, and last two mths only got highs and no peaks :( on day 23 at mo and not getting my hopes up as dont think I ovulated.

How is everyone else getting on? The thread has been quite quiet over Xmas.

Oh yeah, forgot to mention that my SIL told me she is 9 wks pregnant, v happy for her and my brother but it's their second and just keep thinking when is it my time? My other SIL had a bubba before Xmas and we've only seen him twice, in my mind I don't really want to see him because I feel so sad and DH hasnt mentioned going to see him either and I think he feels the same as me. I wish we could feel more excited. I have only confided in my closet friend about what we're going thru and she has been great. She had a beautiful little girl before Xmas, and the strange thing is I love seeing her. It must be because my friend knows our problems and doesn't keep saying youll be next bla bla bla.

Also, on the DTD, we were told every three days cos of DH low SA but sometimes we do it every other day depending where we are in the mth.

Hi little i usually do take BBT but I was getting really obsessed so tried to have some time off this month, letting the monitor take control. It all started off so well when I got the peaks...

Had a bit of spotting today so I expect AF will arrive tomorrow or the day after, and at least we can start again, at this cycle will not have been too long CD37 today.

My GP upped my metformin dosage for the next 3 months before he'll refer me to the consultant. I really hope I don't need to go.

HopingSoon · 09/01/2012 13:53

Day 24 and I've got an egg on the CBFM!! can that be right?? DH thinks the machine is faulty lol!
Well we'll be SWI tonight just in case!!

HettyTurner · 09/01/2012 21:49

Yay!

HettyTurner · 09/01/2012 21:51

I found out about another friend who is having a baby in June. That's 6 now.

And no AF, FF says I o'd on Friday. Getting totally fed up. At least we DTD Thursday night so there is a small hope.

LittleHappenstance · 10/01/2012 07:51

Hi everyone! Great to hear from you all!

Hoping Congratulations on getting your peak! I've heard some women get their o early, others later. I don't think it matters when you o as long as your luetal phase is alright (approx 10 days plus). Mine has been less than 10 days and I've had a lot of spotting pre-AF, hence my tests. Good luck with DH SA results on Friday, let me know how he gets on. My DH is going for the test tomorrow.

Hetty I know what you mean about the BBT being a pain. But I am now somewhat addicted and don't feel it's morning unless I have a beeping metal thing in my mouth!!! It feels like forever since my alarm didn't go off at 6.30am! (Yes, I know, I've really sold it to everyone who was thinking about trying this!!!). Sorry about the spotting. Has it stopped? Could it maybe have been implantation?

Secret Do you use OPKs or just the monitor? Don't get me wrong, the monitor should do a fine job on it's own but I always like something else to double-check it with! I start doing OPKs in the afternoon from cd10 (moving to two a day as I get closer to potential o) and for the past two cycles I've had a positive OPK around 1pm the day before my monitor shows a peak. The next morning I always get a peak on the monitor, but perhaps that's due to the length of my surge? If you have a short surge - and you tend to surge in the afternoon - then it may be that the monitor's missing it? I would continue with the monitor and see if it finds your peak, if not then why not try both monitor and OPKs next month? (I bought mine on Amazon and got 50 test strips for around £8). I use about 15 each cycle so it's not a huge extra expense on top of the CBFM test sticks. Might be worth a shot?

As for the whole 'everyone seems to be pregnant' thing, I understand completely. A colleague's daughter (who's the same age as me and didn't even want a baby) has just given birth to a little boy. DH and I are pretty sure our close friends are TTC (just because of a couple of comments they've made) and while I really want them to have a baby, it would devastate me if they told me they were expecting while I'm still trying so hard. I know that sounds really selfish, and I'm not a selfish person, but I just get really emotional about all of these things right now.

Anyway, onwards and upwards! How does everyone feel about starting a lucky list on this thread? It'll help us keep a track of where we all are on our cycles? If we've o'd then we put our test date next to it (preferably the day of missed AF although we all know we won't wait that long!) and if there's no date next to your name then you're still waiting to o? We could also list when our peaks were to help others? I'll go first and if you want to add your name just copy and paste to your post. Let's hope it brings us luck!!!

HopingSoon - (peak 24/25) testing: 23rd Jan!!

LittleHappenstance · 10/01/2012 14:33

Lol Secret Grin

My DH was the same but I wore him down!!! Now he's like 'whatever you want'!!! I told him that I'd rather he was the one waking up at 6.30 to take his temp each morning and having to pee religiously on sticks at a set time during countless days of the first TWW. Of course, he'd have to obsess over every potential symptom during the second TWW, log on to BBT charting sites to track his temps, speak to fellow TTC-ers online just to try and keep him semi-sane and, to top it all off, have to deal with bloating, pain and acne associated with PMS each month. I explained that he has just ONE job to do and he should just shhhhh and get on with it. Then, he can hand the gauntlet back to me for the next 9 months!!! He got the message...

Besides my BBT thermometer and OPKs only cost about £12 altogether and after a few months, when I've got a better understanding of my cycles, I shouldn't need to use them all. Plus, when I get my gyno appointment I'll have as much information collected as possible to try and get the best advice I can. So, there's a method to my madness! (she says trying to convince herself she's not an obsessive nut!)

Not sure about the CM around implantation time as never been pregnant, but would like to know. Anyone got any advice?

I've added your name to the Lucky List!

LUCKY LIST

I know what you mean Secret. I'm a bit of a control freak too!!! This is my seventh month TTC and third with CBFM. Each month I tend to add something new. So far it's gone a bit like this:

Cycle 1: NTNP
Cycle 2: NTNP
Cycle 3: NTNP and pre-natal vits
Cycle 4: CBFM and pre-natal vits
Cycle 5: CBFM, OPKs and pre-natal vits
Cycle 6: CBFM, OPKs, BBT, Preseed, green tea and pre-natal vits
Cycle 7: CBFM, OPKs, BBT, EPO, green tea, B50 complex

I'm starting to run out of things to add!!! Grin

It's de-caf green tea. I got some out of a local health shop but Tetley does a great de-caf green tea too! I'm not exactly sure what it's meant to do - just heard that it helps and thought 'why not!?'

Well, today is cd23 for me and I started spotting yesterday (it has happened to me for the past four months, spotting from cd22 to AF). It's so frustrating. So, that's me out for this month. Good luck to everyone else and hopefully see some BFPs on here in the next few weeks!

CaveMum · 11/01/2012 15:21

Hello ladies, just sticking my head I to ask a bit of advice.

I have PCOS and am on my 3rd cycle of Clomid. I've borrowed a CBFM from someone as my last 2 cycles had ovulation happening on very different days, so I've no clue when we should be actively trying.

I read in the CBFM manual that Clomid can give you a false CBFM reading. Has anyone experienced this?

Thanks in advance.

LittleHappenstance · 11/01/2012 15:33

Welcome CaveMum!

I'm sorry, I don't have any experience of this (perhaps one of the other ladies could offer some advice?). However, I seem to remember reading another post elsewhere about the CBFM and Clomid. I'll see if I can find it.

Good luck with the monitor!!! (Oh, and remember and give it a hard reset to erase the previous user's information - otherwise you'll get false readings. It should tell you how to do this in the instructions or on the Clearblue website).

LittleHappenstance · 11/01/2012 15:35

Okay, found it quicker than I thought! If you click this link and go to section 6 it offers a bit of advice on it. Not sure how helpful it is? It might be worth referring to my good friend Dr Google to see if there's any other advice out there?

community.babycenter.com/post/a25811181/faq_-_please_read_before_posting

Good luck and hope this helps!

PS It also has information on doing a hard reset (see section 1 of the post!)
