Hello everyone, welcome to the thread Bluetinkerbell and SecretSparkle.
Sorry to hear of your loss Blue. I hope the monitor works it's magic for you and FX you get your BFP soon. Sending lots of babydust your way.
Secret, I too have fallen down the path of over-analysing everything - I think it's the curse of all TTC ladies! Technically, you can read the sticks. When you start testing you should see one line (perhaps a hint of a second faint line), this is estrogen and the faint one is LH. When your estrogen levels increase your monitor will show you as being high (this is what triggers the LH surge). When you get an LH surge you will notice the LH line is darker and the estrogen one is lighter (and this will show as a peak on your monitor). However, my sticks haven't always been easy to read - sometimes I hardly see any lines at all but the monitor still manages to pick it up so it's best to rely on monitor results rather than what you see on the sticks. It is also possible to get cycles that just show all highs and not a peak, particularly with your first couple of cycles as the CBFM is still trying to get used to you. Try not to worry, I'm sure your peak will come. And even if it doesn't, I've read about lots of women who get pregnant using the CBFM on cycles that only showed high. Good luck!
hoping I'm on cd14 and still no egg either. This is only my second cycle with the monitor, but last month I got a peak on cd11 and this month I've had highs since cd6. I can't really understand it as last month seemed to go like clockwork! I know what you mean about the o not happening every month, I told DH that too and he wasn't too happy. The good news is that I'm having my blood work done this month (first test taken on cd5 came back clear) and my second test is next week so hopefully I'll know if I've o'd or not. DH has still to do his test but it asks for him to abstain from BD-ing for a period of time before giving the sample - and this is not the time to be abstaining!!!
So, hopefully he'll go for tests in next week or two.
This month I've been backing up with OPKs and I did one yesterday lunchtime that came back quite dark. In some lights it looked as dark as the control line, and in others it didn't. I took another test yesterday evening and the line was barely there. Not sure if that means I've had a really short LH surge and perhaps the monitor has missed it? Or perhaps the OPK was negative and my surge is still to come? FX we both get our eggs soon. DH is starting to pray for a peak so he can see an end to all this BD-ing!!!
I agree that positive thinking is key, so let's all think happy thoughts and hopefully our BFPs are just around the corner...
