Hi LittleHappen,
How you getting on with the CBFM this month? Have you had you egg yet?
I'm on day 16 and still no egg, had a high since day 9, last month got egg on day 14 but month before was 17 so not sure when it will be this month! Told DH that it doesn't happen every month which made him frown :(
However had a mishap on day 13 where I woke up too late and the CBFM didn't ask me to POAS, so maybe I have messed it up this month. We dtd that day just in case!!
I'm feeling bit more positive this month, hit me hard last time AF got me and I don't want to get like that again. Just keeping fingers crossed it will happen soon for us.
Got Christmas to think about now anyway :)

How is everyone else? Any good news yet? I keep an eye on another thread and someone got their BFP today after a long wait so there is hope for all of us. We just need to think positively.
xx

Hi ladies, can I join? I will start using my CBFM tomorrow... I think
I'm ttc #3, after losing DD2 at 20 weeks pregnancy back in June.
I have longish cycles, shortest so far 37 days, longest 44.
I'm on CD44 today, and have a smallish bleed, but not very big... it could be an implantation bleed, it could be AF...
I know they say CBFM doesn't work for those with cycles longer than 42, but I'm willing to give it a go... I need to try and understand how my cycles work.

Hello everyone, welcome to the thread Bluetinkerbell and SecretSparkle.

Sorry to hear of your loss Blue. I hope the monitor works it's magic for you and FX you get your BFP soon. Sending lots of babydust your way.

Secret, I too have fallen down the path of over-analysing everything - I think it's the curse of all TTC ladies! Technically, you can read the sticks. When you start testing you should see one line (perhaps a hint of a second faint line), this is estrogen and the faint one is LH. When your estrogen levels increase your monitor will show you as being high (this is what triggers the LH surge). When you get an LH surge you will notice the LH line is darker and the estrogen one is lighter (and this will show as a peak on your monitor). However, my sticks haven't always been easy to read - sometimes I hardly see any lines at all but the monitor still manages to pick it up so it's best to rely on monitor results rather than what you see on the sticks. It is also possible to get cycles that just show all highs and not a peak, particularly with your first couple of cycles as the CBFM is still trying to get used to you. Try not to worry, I'm sure your peak will come. And even if it doesn't, I've read about lots of women who get pregnant using the CBFM on cycles that only showed high. Good luck!

hoping I'm on cd14 and still no egg either. This is only my second cycle with the monitor, but last month I got a peak on cd11 and this month I've had highs since cd6. I can't really understand it as last month seemed to go like clockwork! I know what you mean about the o not happening every month, I told DH that too and he wasn't too happy. The good news is that I'm having my blood work done this month (first test taken on cd5 came back clear) and my second test is next week so hopefully I'll know if I've o'd or not. DH has still to do his test but it asks for him to abstain from BD-ing for a period of time before giving the sample - and this is not the time to be abstaining!!! Grin So, hopefully he'll go for tests in next week or two.

This month I've been backing up with OPKs and I did one yesterday lunchtime that came back quite dark. In some lights it looked as dark as the control line, and in others it didn't. I took another test yesterday evening and the line was barely there. Not sure if that means I've had a really short LH surge and perhaps the monitor has missed it? Or perhaps the OPK was negative and my surge is still to come? FX we both get our eggs soon. DH is starting to pray for a peak so he can see an end to all this BD-ing!!! Grin

I agree that positive thinking is key, so let's all think happy thoughts and hopefully our BFPs are just around the corner...Smile

Well, I had a definite positive OPK on Wednesday afternoon (tested around 1pm) and my monitor showed peak on Thursday morning, so I guess I was wrong to doubt my trusty monitor! Now on peak day two and glad I can stop POAS for a while! Xmas Grin. So, I had 9 days of high before my peak showed on cd15. Hang in there Secret I'm sure your peak will come. I know it's hard when you feel your body is telling you one thing and the monitor is telling you another but I would stick with it and continue dtd just in case.

Last month I counted incorrectly and thought I classed my first peak day as my ov day, but later found out I should class my second peak day as my ov day. I've also been charting my BBT but I haven't noticed any thermal shift yet. I must say, I love my monitor so much more than my thermometer - it takes all the guess work out of it!

Good luck ladies and hope you find your eggs soon.

JNO18 · 10/12/2011 09:44

Hi ladies

Can I join you? This is our 8th month ttc and decided to try the monitor this month as I was struggling to pinpoint when I'm ovulating. I'm now on day 15 and have had 2 high days but no peak yet. My cycles tend to be around 27-28 days so I wonder if I'm ov quite late in my cycle. Hopefully the little egg will appear in the next couple of days.

On what days hav you ladies seen a peak and how long are your cycles?

LittleHappenstance · 12/12/2011 07:36

Welcome JNO18! I'm on my second cycle with the monitor and it picked up a peak for me both cycles - last month on cd11 and 12 and this month on cd15 and 16. Last month I had four or five highs before my peak and this month I had nine highs before my peak. Hopefully you find your peak soon.

How is everyone else getting on?

Hi everyone, just checking in!
Sparkle I'm like you, no peaks this month :( so guess we're out too this month :(
I made a mistake with my CBFM on day 13 and woke up too late so when I pressed the button it didn't ask me to POAS, last month my peaks were days 13 and 14 so wonder whether I missed it!! We dtd on the morning on day 13 just in case!
I'm on day 21 and it's still asking me to POAS but I've run out of this pack and don't want to start a new pack so have given up this month.

SIL had a little boy this morning, only 5lb 14oz.
Plus best friend is due to have bubba on thurs. All these things don't help how I feel right now. So much for trying to think positively :( I really did try this month :(

On the plus side DH has 2nd SA today so we'll see how the results are. Dr told us we'll discuss options once DH 2nd test results are available. Hopefully all moving in the right direction now !

HettyTurner · 13/12/2011 20:52

Hello everyone, can I join in?

I am on month 2 of my CBFM. Got highs from CD 7 last month and no peaks and temps seemed to confirm no ov. This month I stopped temping - too stressfull worrying about missing ov.

This month I'm on clomid for PCOS and had peaks CD9 and 10 which seems so early, and neg OPKs in the afternoon. I didn't do one in the afternoon of CD8 so I might have missed the LH surge with those. DTD CD8,9 and 10 just to be sure. But today fertile CP and positive OPK this afternoon....

Would the FM give 2 peaks in a month, if it picked up another surge tomorrow morning?

Can you ov twice??? I suppose that's how non identical twins happen, but I thought they would be from the same LH surge....

Secret, I think you did ov and the monitor didn't see it so try not to worry. When is your test day?

Hoping it's really difficult when everyone around you is having babies. We all get like that. I always think that a pregnancy seems much more special when you've had to wait for it Smile. Anyway - you may have missed the surge but you SWI on that day so you're not out yet!

When are we all due to test? Mine is 26th, but I'm going to do it on christmas day Xmas Smile then i can happily have a festive drink (or not FX).

LittleHappenstance · 14/12/2011 07:39

Welcome Hetty! I started charting my BBT this month too and I agree, it's stressful. Every other chart I see seems to be nice and neat with a perfect little rise after ovulation. My temps are all over the place - up one minute and down the next! But I can't seem to stop shoving a thermometer in my mouth as soon as I wake up! Even though I'm not sure it's telling me anything...

Secret I wouldn't worry that the monitor hasn't picked up your peak. Like Hetty said, chances are the monitor has missed it. It's not unusual for the monitor not to pick up your peak in the first month or two as it's still getting to know you. It's also not unusual to fall pregnant on a cycle of all highs. Wink Keeping my FX for you.

Hoping same to you, the monitor either missed it or it did peak on cd13 (which seems most likely given your previous month's cycle). Sounds like you covered all your bases anyway. Good luck with DH second SA results. My DH is calling this morning to arrange a time to take his first sample in. It's really quite nerve-wracking isn't it? Let me know how he gets on.

Have you gone through many tests yourself? I've got my second 21-day blood check today and I've also been referred for a scan to rule out PCOS while I wait for my gyno referral. I'm glad they're testing us but on the same hand, I just wish it would hurry up and happen. Every BFN makes me wonder if it'll ever happen for us. Still, I'm keeping my positive mental attitude (at least for now) and hoping we all get the news we're hoping for this Christmas Xmas Smile

LittleHappenstance · 14/12/2011 07:42

Oh, and Hetty, as for testing.....well, I'd like to say I'll be testing on 21st but that's a full seven days away! However, I'm going to try and keep my POAS addiction in check for as long as possible!!! Grin

Also, not heard from pupcake in a while. Are you still out there?

The monitor said low this morning and a neg OPK this afternoon, so I think it must have happened Sat/Sun/Mon. FF says Monday so I'm 2DPO. Might continue to use OPKs in the afternoons just to make sure though. 11 days til POAS...

7DPO POAS in 6 days. Sore boobs...

LittleHappenstance · 20/12/2011 07:17

I'm out too. I had a super short Luetal Phase this month so I've started taking vitamin B-50 complex to try and have a more normal cycle next month. On with the 2012 babies!!!

Hetty keeping my FX, let us know how you get on.

HettyTurner · 21/12/2011 19:20

How long was you LP little? They say that 10 days is OK, mine is usually 11.

Got even sorer boobs today and a massive headache and getting my hopes up. Bet I didn't ov at all and it's just my body playing tricks on me, wouldn't be the first time.

Trying to be strong and not test in the morning.

HettyTurner · 22/12/2011 15:49

I tested. BFN, and chucked in bin after a couploe of mins. Then later I fished it out and had a closer look (after having a look on FF at preg test results) and I think there may possibly be a very very light sort of shadow...

Now I don't know what to think, i read it after the time. Still got to wait until tomorrow at least until I can test again.

LittleHappenstance · 28/12/2011 07:29

Hi ladies, hope you all had a wonderful Christmas. I logged on to see how everyone was doing and got a real shock when I read your post Hetty! What happened? Did you get your BFP? I really hope so and I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you. Grin

AFM: nothing interesting to report. Still not o'd yet this cycle. However, the B50 complex I'm taking gives me crazy neon pee! I don't think that means anything other than the fact I can now go to the bathroom at night without having to turn the lights on!!! Grin

Good luck everyone and hope we're not too far away from those BFPs.

Zara1984 · 28/12/2011 08:14

Fingers crossed for you hetty!! Have you done another test yet??

Well feeling slightly despondent and confused. Am on cd24 and have had highs for the past 11 days! I know this is normal for first cycle but still grrrr annoyed.

Have also had pink/brown spotting and light cramps - over the weekend. Cramps have stopped now as has spotting - although I'm still getting a touch of spotting after sex. What does this mean??? Anything? Nothing? I guess it means nothing or early AF/body being weird. Still got at LEAST a week until I can test!

Hope everyone had a really excellent Christmas with lots of baby-making sex!!!! Grin

Going to order some more sticks today. I think I'll be needing them for next month Sad but DH is lovely and cheered me up by saying if we had some left when I eventually get pg we will use them for %232 Smile Smile

Hi
Lurker. Great to read your stories and support.

I am on 1st month of trying to use CBFM, however, managed to leave it at home when we went away at xmas. So will be returning to day 13 tomorrow am. Will it let me carry on testing? Or should I just save my sticks?

Any thoughts gratefully received!

Sending 2012 baby wishes to us all.

TIA
Ws

HettyTurner · 29/12/2011 20:52

Tested every day til boxing day and all BFN Xmas Sad I suppose it must have been an evaporation line, very disappointing. Still no AF on CD26, so if I ov'd a day or 2 later I should have AF by now.

Will do another test in the morning, but sore boobs are gone and no other symptoms so I am expecting a BFN. I will know if I ov'd or not when the monitor said though.

On the upside I have eaten cheeses and drunk wine guilt free for the first christmas in 3 years - as been preg or bfing - and I have thoroughly enjoyed it.

I did have 1 or 2 too many red wines and had a few tears; I was really hoping TTC#2 would be a bit easier for us.

Anyway good luck to all on TWW and sending energy to those on peaks and highs.
