How gutted to log on and find that someone had beaten me to the 1000 post and I couldn't update on the old thread.

Particularly as I got my BFP last night!!! I'd had two BFNs last week and was expecting AF to arrive while on holiday but it never came... Got more and more convinced that I was pg (feeling a bit sick too) as the weekend went on and literally tested within 10 mins of arriving home. Poor DH was still unloading the car as I greeted him at the door with my pink line!

Very excited although a bit apprehensive too. Really want to tell everyone but obviously don't want to this early so am REALLY pleased I have all you lovely ladies on MN to share with.

I was too excited to do more than skim the last few pages on the last thread but did see there had been several other BFPs so congratulations to all those too!

OP posts:
MooleyWooleyShamaLamaDingDong · 14/12/2011 20:43

blue I feel your pain, currently on CD47 last cycle was 77 days long!!! Fx'd that your cycles are regulating! Sounds like it!!

No Xmas food making for me tonight, ended up in pub.......oops!!! Xmas Grin

Discolite · 14/12/2011 21:46

Mooley! A pub?! Sod the pate, the pub sounds much better Xmas Wink

Count you might have the pains but there is still hope until AF actually appears...

Blue that is a long time, not trying to make you feel worse but when you actually work out how many ovulations you get per year compared to a normal 28 day cycle it feels pretty grim. My cycles have ranged from 49 to 29 days so far since April, mostly about 33 days (which I'm grateful for) so like Mooley I know how you feel. Here's hoping for sensible, regular cycles that behave themselves for 2012!

MooleyWooleyShamaLamaDingDong · 15/12/2011 06:05

Well temp did this this morning! Hope it wasn't as a result of the 2 pints I enjoyed last night and that I'm finally seeing a temp shift!!

Disco yes, pub was much more satisfying than pâté making!!!

count I reckon get a mulled wine, some Xmas songs and a mince pie and soon those cards will be writing themselves!! It's a chore, but in the right frame of mind can be enjoyable Xmas Grin

iloveberries · 15/12/2011 06:56

hi all,

i am going to bow out of the threads for a while i think.

having a totally rotten time at the moment and just want to switch off for a few months.

thank you so so so so much for all the laughs and support though, You are great people and i wish you lots of luck on the quest for that BFP and baby.

Berries xxx

festiemum · 15/12/2011 07:35

Oh berries you will be missed, you know? Did you get round to doing one of those online tests? Maybe think about seeing your GP soon if things don't feel any better.. Do what you need to to make yourself feel better if you can. Lots of love xxx

moo that looks really positive. Particularly combined with the other signs you had a couple of days ago. Fingers very very crossed! I only find booze affects my temps if I go on a real bender. A couple of pints doesn't affect them in my experience. Xmas Smile Oh and you keep your cycle guru status in my book, because you were absolutely right! Temp stayed up today, and ff put my crosshairs in at cd11! Xmas Grin

disco please do some pagan dancing and libations to your pregnant looking tree. If only because the idea of it is making me pmsl!! Xmas Grin

Hope af has stayed away today for those of you who are in the zone. I now have to get through the run up to Christmas and the 2 ww all tied up together! Oh, and I have to work out how to get through to my mum (who's broken arm isn't healing, so is going to have to have it pinned) that we don't have enough beds for all the people who live here when dh's kids are staying, let alone an incontinent, slightly mental, immobile old lady. But she seems to have got it into her head that when she's had her op she's going to be coming to stay with me! Xmas Hmm

Anyway, nice festive morning for me - the kids' school carol service - lovely!

Liliana1 · 15/12/2011 07:36

Take care Berries you know where we are if you want to moan/vent/have a chat. Hope things go well with you xxx

Moo lets hope its not an alcohol spike and things are moving! Pub sounds like a good plan and might make my way there after late night shopping tonight.

festie that is dedication to the cause and have to admit I've done it too Xmas Blush someimes you gotta do what you've gotta do when you only have a window of a couple days - Hope it did the trick!!!

lou keep the festive cheer coming - when I manage to stay awake I'm feeling much more christmassy now Xmas Smile

Disco loving your pg looking tree - at least someone (something?) is looking pregnant! How did you manage to end up singing in front of 700 teenagers? I never would be able to do that (although with my singing no one would ask me!)

Blue hoping your cycles do shorten, but it isn't everything, I have a 28 day cycle and I'm still here nearly 2 years later and seen lots with long cycles go before me.

Well no AF but feel like my cervix is open and she is on her way (is it possible to 'feel' your cervix without any turtling?!)

2 days to go!! At this rate I will be crawling over the finish line but at least I can see it. Class are VERY excited and as they are a bubbly class at the best of times it has been an interesting week!!

louloubellamozzarella · 15/12/2011 09:10

Mornin' all

This waiting for SWI time to commence thing is sooo tiresome - doesn't help that whenever I have AF me and DF get ever so frustrated Xmas Blush. Glad it's xmas time - just not allowing myself to think about TTC and trying to bury my head in xmas things. Finish work tomorrow - cannot wait!

Blue - maybe it is your cycles getting shorter... but as lil said, a longer cycle doesn't necessarily mean you're less fertile.

disco nice interpretation of the tree! I can picture us all dancing around our xmas trees :)

moo - pub - fantastic! Keep meaning to pop out for a festive mulled wine but haven't had the time lately - this weekend it will happen!

festie, sounds like you have a very busy xmas ahead of you - but will be lovely to have all of your family around you. You'll also be sooo busy that the wait won't seem like one I bet.

berries - I understand. Make sure you take care of yourself pal. Please do pop in if you feel like it and keep an eye out for our new 2012 plane when it appears. Make sure you have a lovely break over xmas with your family and do whatever you need to do to feel better and happy again soon. X Xmas Smile

MooleyWooleyShamaLamaDingDong · 15/12/2011 09:11

festie thank you for your words of encouragement and YEY for the temp rise and ov!!!! Fx'd!! I really hope that my temp does not drop tomorrow otherwise all the dolls are being thrown out of the pram and a mini tantrum will follow!! Just hope if it is ov that the spermies stay alive long enough to meet the egg; only managed to dtd on Tuesday and no chance tonight as DH is at his Xmas party and inlaws are around tomorrow, so Saturday is our next best chance!!!

Berries sooooooo soooooo sorry to see you go, but you know yourself better than anyone and you have to do what you have to do!! We will always be here for you so please come back when you are feeling up to it!! I wish all the love and good luck in the world with your endeavours and I hope you have a lovely relaxing Xmas and New Year!!! Look after yourself Xmas Grin

Disco I too love the sound of your pregnant Xmas tree, let's hope it's not the only thing that is pregnant Xmas Wink

Hope everyone else is fairing well!! BFP SOON PLEASE!!!!!! Xmas Grin

louloubellamozzarella · 15/12/2011 11:59

Quiet in here today - or is just me bored at work waiting for the hols to commence?!

moo so hope it's ov time for you - sounds like it's the right kinda timing and the right temps.

Countmyblessings · 15/12/2011 15:49

Hi all just a quick one! It's seems the gag has left a message for a parcel to be delivered and will be back later!!!! Booo! And right before the weekend so double great!
Ilove- we understand taking a step back is sometimes needed, focus enjoy Christmas and new years! And pop your head in hopefully sharing good news!!!!!!
Festie- ouch! About your mum it's like what do I say!! There is no space!!
It will work out - good luck! Njoy dtd!!!!
Loulou- ohhhhh it's beginning to feel like its Christmas already so many staff off! No time to check emails or anything!
Moowoo- hope the temp shift means good news my word we are well due for some!!!

Please someone tell me some good news!!!!

Countmyblessings · 15/12/2011 15:50

Didn't mean" gag" iPhone! " Hag"!!!
Typing on the go!

Notinmykitchen · 15/12/2011 19:20

Hi all,

Berries, hope things improve and you are back soon! I think we all need to switch off from it at times!

Loulou so sorry that AF got you, but make the most of all that Christmas drinking!!

Moo that certainly looks like a temp shift to me! Fingers crossed it turns into a BFP very soon!

Count hope the hag was just teasing you, and won't put in an appearance afterall!

Not sure what is going on with me at the moment. I was expecting to ov about the 21st, but got a couple of almost positive OPK's the last couple of days. No actual positive though, so not sure if I have or haven't now. Anyone else had this? Have SWI anyway just in case, but I would like to know what is going on! All the other signs are there, had EWCM, which I never usually get!

In other news, put my tree up today, so feeling very festive, and had a couple of glasses of wine to celebrate!

Rusulka · 15/12/2011 20:32

Hi all,

Sorry for radio silence, so to speak- was varnishing the floor and had to unplug the internet (only working phone socket is in our room, wtf!?)

DIY update lol. Can't believe you missed them!
The floor is varnished, 3 coats, we move our furniture back in tomorrow night.
Yay!

I've been so chilled out yesterday and today, it's fantastic. Checked back through diary and I've been doing that bloody room for 2 and a half weeks now, ridiculous, and no wonder I was bloody stressed. Just the skirting boards to put on, but that's a job for the new year. Roll on Christmas!

The tree is up and decorated, except the candy canes, which I only just found under the desk, and the rest of the living room is looking a lot more festive after today's efforts.

I see everyone has been busy, sorry to hear Berries is taking a sabbatical, but hopefully you'll be feeling awesome soon!

Loving the idea of a pregnant tree. Was in B&Q the other day and nearly bought a pot tree- it had a weird bulge on one side though, so didn't fit my obsessive-compulsive aesthetics, but now I realise to my horror it was a pregnant tree and could only bring good karma into the house! Oh no! Do you think it'll still be there if I rush in first thing in the morning? Lol.

Festie you're expecting AF at the same time as me! Woop! Testing buddy! Xmas Grin

Right, I'm off to bed early for a snuggle with DH and to write out Christmas cards. Then read him a chapter of story (Howl's Moving Castle), then listen to Gloria Estefan's latin program on radio 2.
'Night all!

MooleyWooleyShamaLamaDingDong · 16/12/2011 07:06

Morning all!! Well it was not a temp shift Xmas Sad as temp plummeted this morning, so must have been down to the alcohol!'

Rusulka YEY!!!! Love your stories and glad you have got it finished at last!!!

Count it might not be AF - hang in there!!!!!

Liliana1 · 16/12/2011 07:40

Xmas Sad Mooley, are the dolls all over the floor? (have always wanted to throw a proper tantrum along the lines the advert set in the supermarket when a child has a strop and mum falls on the floor in full tantrum mode - can't remember what it was for but loved it!)

Sound like a nice eve Rusulka Hurray for finishing the floor and getting the tree up. Mine isn't pregnant either - now feeling that I have missed the vital ingredient for successful pg!

Lou LAST DAY!!! Whoop whoop!! Can't wait till tonight although means I am coming home to the IL -(why, WHY?? I've just broken up) Hope you have a good day

Count any news? It's not over till the hag is singing.

Kitchen sorry I've never really got to grips with OPK's but mine have never got as dark as the test line, I just assume that the darkest line is the surge but have never managed to use them for the whole ov time so what do I know? Am going to try this month.

Still no AF but just don't feel pg. This happened last month too and af turned up 2 days late. I put it down to stress at the time as was a crap time but maybe my cycle has just got a bit longer and this is a permanent change?

Have a good Friday all

Countmyblessings · 16/12/2011 08:51

hi all - well i think shes here although still not fully i guess she want to torture me slowly!!!!!!
Rusulka - well done you are my DIY hero!!!!!!
Kitchen- i never used ov sticks so clueless but keep at it! ohhhhhhhhhhhhhh
lili -please keep the hope alive right now need just some god BFP news!!!
Festie & Rusulka- testing buddy - whoop!!!!!!
MooWoo- still no good temp shift - ahh man come on body get it going!!!!!

feeling so rotten just want to skip over christmas my due date and be somewhere looking at my BFP!!! and looking great!!! on a beach, like beyonce!!!!! blahhhhhhhhhhhhhh - i lost work mobile somewhere and now thinking will have to buy a replacement just great!!!!!!!!!!!

Rusulka · 16/12/2011 10:35

Kitchen if your ov sticks are internet cheapies, then I have the same ones. I never get a line as dark as the control line. I start testing from CD10, and it goes faint, faint darker, darker, gone. So I've been assuming the 2 darker ones were indicating ov. this matches up with my temps, as I get the darker lines just before or at the same time as my temp drop.

Oh ladies, I can't believe you think I'm some kind of DIY guru, it's ridiculous. Kind of like my in-laws thinking I'm a Nigella- if you'd said to my family 4 years ago that I could cook toast without setting the teatowel on fire because I forgot to take it off the grill first, they wouldn't have believed you. and yet my FiL seems to think I'm capable of anything, and regularly asks how he can make a pie out of something (!) I don't f**king know! so I look in a book, lol.
I kind of prefer the Heston Blumenthal approach anyway- it's more of a food scientist thing- I'll fiddle with flavours and textures til I'm happy. My buns and cakes always used to go wrong because I'd deviate from the recipe. Once I made a baked cheesecake but didn't use digestives for the base- I used gingernuts instead. SACRILEGE! My mum didn't speak to me for a week, it was like I'd flouted one of the holy laws of cooking or something.

What else?

Didn't get to read a story last night as we had a 'discussion' over the christmas cards. DH had been writing the shortened version of my name in the cards to his uni friends (who I haven't met) and I'm not comfortable with that, I'd rather he used my full name- I explained that only close family and friends use my short name, so it's not appropriate for it to go in cards to people I've never met. I also don't use it for work. He said that I'm the short version to him, so that's what he uses. He just doesn't get it. Am I being completely unreasonable? Probably, lol.

FX for a lucky month this month.
182 posts left for this thread, so hopefully we'll have a nice rash of BFPs to coincide with Christmas and the end of the thread.

Ladies, do your womanly duty and remember to visualise! Xmas Grin

Notinmykitchen · 16/12/2011 11:31

Thanks for the replies, in that case I think I am now in the 2WW. Rusulka not the internet cheapies, but they are cheap ones I got from Wilko's, so I am guessing the same or similar. I don't think you are being unreasonable re the cards, surely it is up to you what you are known as!

Moowoo sorry to hear about the temp drop, not bloody fair!!

Liliana I don't think you would feel pregnant so early on, so there is still plenty of hope!

Count sorry to hear you are feeling like that, it can't be easy, but you WILL get that BFP, hopefully soon, just hang in there!Xmas Smile

festiemum · 16/12/2011 18:24

Hi all. God I'm sure dh thinks I'm bonkers. Have a ladies' Christmas gathering tomorrow and wondering whether to get bladdered or not. Dh asks me if I think I'm pregnant and when I say maybe he says, well you always think you're pregnant! So I say that I've been sleeping loads the last couple of days, falling asleep all over the place, and he says, not being funny, but that's not unusual for you. Fucking cheek!

Anyway, I think I'll have a few drinks, but make sure I drink long drinks that I can take my time over and make last.

Terrible tummy today, is that a sign?! And a headache, is that a sign? And the aforementioned tiredness, is that a sign and......... Insanity just around the frigging corner at this rate!!!!! Xmas Grin

Hope everyone's having a good Friday and all those breaking up today are full of christmas joy! It does seem a bit unfair that you have your in-laws to stay straight after the end of term lil!

Sorry your temp sank moo. And sorry you're feeling negative count. But well done rusulka on getting that room done- such a good feeling when it's done!

Hey notin I'm another one who's never had a "positive" opk, but always took the darkest reading as ov. It worked when I was ttc dd2 anyway!

Have a great weekend all! Xmas Smile

Notinmykitchen · 16/12/2011 21:13

festie all your symptoms sound hopeful! That said I can't see it doing much harm having a few drinks even if you are pregnant.

I am having a bit of a panic now, DS has worms, sorry, gross I know. DH went to the chemist to get tablets to treat them. When he came back he said we all have to take one each, as if DS had them we may well do too, so without even giving it a thought I did. Afterwards I read the packet and it said you should not take them if you are pregnant or think you might be. Now I'm panicking, just in case I am. The tablets contain mebenzadole, which I have googled, and it seems it is not good in pregnancy. I am such an idiot, really should have read the packet first!!! Blush

Rusulka · 16/12/2011 21:39

Kitchen, whereabouts in your cycle are you?
I'm sure it will be ok either way.

Just checked back through the thread, and even if you have conceived, you've only just ovulated so it won't have implanted yet, which means you could drink turps and it wouldn't bother it.
[Disclaimer don't drink turps]

I felt similarly when I was practically guzzling benylin with my ridiculous sore throat and chesty cough months ago, convinced I must be doing terrible damage to some poor maybe baby-blob. Turns out I wasn't though, so never mind.
I'm pretty sure they put that disclaimer on everything now anyway, just so no-one can sue their asses in case anything goes wrong! (and I do mean in case).

Moo have you finished your jigsaw yet?
You'll no doubt be shocked to learn I am hardcore when it comes to jigsaws. I like them to be mind-bendingly difficult, or all the pieces are square, or something ridiculous. The jigsaw I really really want to crack out, but can't because the dining table is littered with guff, is my 3000 piece one of Picasso's Guernica, but that's not very festive, lol!

Rusulka · 16/12/2011 21:42

Also Kitchen I used to get worms all the time when I was little, suspect it was stroking the village cats and then biting my nails. We used to have to drink pripsen, it was foul... I remember we came back from swimming and I had to drink some, but the smell used to make me practically gag, and I'd eaten crisps, and when I started drinking it the smell overwhelmed me and... I threw up my chewed crisps into the cup. My mum was furious, I was relieved. Obviously looking back I see it was a waste of money barfing in my medicine like that.

Also I had headlice in October for the first time EVER- caught them off one of the kids at the school I was working at.

I'm un-gross-out-able!

festiemum · 17/12/2011 07:27

Eeeee, kids are minging aren't they?! My kids had worms a while ago - I'm sure you'll be fine notin - in fact, take a look at this, sounds unlikely to be a problem nhs say it's prob ok

Ha ha rusulka there I was about to go and drink turps as well - I'm glad you added that disclaimer. But you're right, there's a lot of bollocks spouted about what pg women can and can't do, it all gets a bit ridiculous IMO.

We've got our tree up now, and the wood burner going, and I finally feel ridiculously Christmassy!

louloubellamozzarella · 17/12/2011 07:59

Morning ladies, I'm up bright and breezy considering how late I went to bed - think it's the excitement of the xmas season! #stillachild

Ah worms and headlice - my mum's a teacher so with three children in the mix out household was a never ending cycle of worms/lice, treatment, worms/lice...Delightful. But kitchen you'll ber fine I'm sure esp as you're still early in your cycle.

festie - a number of promising symtoms there Xmas Wink - def hold off the turps for today at least...

rusulka - thrilled that you've nearly finished and have your decorations up! festie I'm so jealous of your woodburning stove!

My cycle is being very wierd so far this month - although I'm not sure whether I'm still in the old one or in the new one... The spotting which started Tuesday - which I thought was AF - has been very light and no more than spotting for the past four days now and continuing today. What's going on??! The most I've had of this is two days before AF which has happened for the past few months. This is lighter, more sporadic and soooo much more annoying. I just want AF to start so I know we're on a new cycle. Have POAS again this morning just to rule that out but BFN. Hmph :(

Glimpers · 17/12/2011 09:05

Morning ladies.
Well we're into the full swing of Christmas here an getting soooo excited at it being only 8 sleeps to Santa Grin I still don't sleep properly on Christmas Eve at the age off 33!!
Something else to add to the excitement.... I GOT MY BFP THIS MORNING!!!!! Grin
Not even sure why I tested TBH as I had no idea what my cycle was doing after the chem last month?!
Going to get another test this morning just to make sure, but the cross (it was a CB one) came up immediately and not even with FMU! So am feeling a lot more confident about things than last time.
Just about to start on the next lot of wrapping up, life carries on eh Grin
Hope you are all good this morning?
