How gutted to log on and find that someone had beaten me to the 1000 post and I couldn't update on the old thread.

Particularly as I got my BFP last night!!! I'd had two BFNs last week and was expecting AF to arrive while on holiday but it never came... Got more and more convinced that I was pg (feeling a bit sick too) as the weekend went on and literally tested within 10 mins of arriving home. Poor DH was still unloading the car as I greeted him at the door with my pink line!

Very excited although a bit apprehensive too. Really want to tell everyone but obviously don't want to this early so am REALLY pleased I have all you lovely ladies on MN to share with.

I was too excited to do more than skim the last few pages on the last thread but did see there had been several other BFPs so congratulations to all those too!

Good evening Ladies! I'm with you all on the wow that a BFP would be the best Christmas present ever. I'm trying to be hopeful again but am getting a bit more pessimistic - ho hum, onwards and upwards. Who knows when it'll happen? I'm currently in the boring bit of the cycle where AF is out of the way but my fertile time is still more than a week away. I will just have to eat well and try and be good and make sure my egg pops out nice and healthy...and then go and have that blood test at the doctors and find out more about my hormones.

Blue you definitely deserve some good luck after such a sad event. Fingers crossed for a BFP for you.

NotinmyKitchen I hope it happens for you soon, maybe when you aren't officially trying that is when fate will step in.

Hi ladies Xmas Grin just deleted my first potential AF date of 1st Dec as clearly that never materialised!

Blue: so sorry for what you have been through and fx'd that you get that shiny BFP before the year is out Xmas Smile you really deserve it.

maisie: sorry your cycle seems to be a bit whacky at the moment, I really can sympathise and I am sure that they will sort themselves out soon, can't remember if you have just come off the pill or not, but if you have then the hormones take a while to settle down!

On CD39 now sigh but still plodding on with SWI regardless - have my ultrasound probe up my hoo haa tomorrow, hoping that it will reveal some more answers and secretly hoping that deluding myself that I am one of those unlucky people that never gets an early BFP and I am infact pg I have been feeling rather wobbly lately, felt really unwell yesterday when I got home, trying to chop onions and carrots for dinner and hands were shaking excessively and temp rose dramatically, nearly went over a couple of times, and then all of a sudden i was fine!! Think it must be all the hormones racing around, but it's really weird as I have never had this before in the past (know I am over thinking it all, but is really hard not to!).

Will check in later to see how we are all fairing Xmas Grin

Liliana1 · 06/12/2011 07:51

Morning all,

Sorry been away for the weekend visiting my sister in London. Have read through to catch up but not enough time to reply to all properly so sorry about the lows that people are going through and will do a better job later.

Think I ov'd on Friday - sadly me and DH had a good ol' argument on thur eve / fri am (why is it always when I ov?!?!) and were in London Fri eve so only dtd tue, basically writing off this month then Xmas Sad. Oh well on the bright side I can enjoy a few christmas drinks and next month puts would give us a sept baby which would be perfect mat leave wise Xmas Smile.

Only 2 weeks to go and I'm a free woman!!

Have a good day everyone

Bluetinkerbell · 06/12/2011 08:04

pff temp dipped again slightly, but no AF in sight, CD44, feeling slightly nauseous this morning... but I just now that if I test now it will still be negative...

Morning all! Just moving myself to the bottom of the list. Good luck today with the miff-muff probe mool. Hope it gives you some answers, that's the main thing! Disco, I get your frustration, there's so much waiting at both ends of the month!

Hi lil. Bet you're counting down to the end of term, aren't you?! Remember that feeling well! :o

Have a good day all. Xmas Smile

festiemum · 06/12/2011 08:12

Blimey blue - must be driving you scatty! Hope you get an answer one way or t'other soon. There's nothing worse than not knowing what's going on IMO. X

Notinmykitchen · 06/12/2011 09:41

Blue So sorry to hear what you went through, nobody should have to go through that! Fingers toes, and even legs crossed for your BFP this month!

Moowoo good luck for tomorrow, hope you come out with some good news!

Disco, thanks for that thought. It had occurred to me too, but in reality I think if 12 cycles of mostly well times SWI hasn't done the trick, as well as a few months not preventing before that, its not likely to happen now. Who am I kidding, everyone knows when you give up you are guaranteed a BFP! Xmas Grin

louloubellamozzarella · 06/12/2011 10:10

Good luck for your 'miff muff probe' (to quote festie Xmas Grin) today moowoo*! Let us know how you get on.

Blue - are you going to test again tomorrow? Make it a nice sensitive test - we need a BFP!! :)

festie hope this week's been lucky for you so far.

Disco I'm with you on feeling pessimistic. Don't know why but just can't imagine ever getting a BFP. We haven't even been trying for that long in the scheme of things (5th cycle currently). I think it's just the unknown maybe as we're trying TTC for the first time? Really really hoping that good news starts to emerge next week.

I'll be testing Tuesday next week (stay away AF!!) - anyone else POAS next week too?

louloubellamozzarella · 06/12/2011 10:11

Oops I mean tomorrow moowoo - wishing the week next couple of weeks before xmas away!

Rusulka · 06/12/2011 10:51

Blue so sorry for your loss. You definitely deserve a BFP! Everything crossed- even legs, since only CD9. :)

Moo good luck with your up-periscope. Let us know if there's anything interesting up there.

Loulou I'm exactly the same. Only cycle 6 for us, but it just seems like it isn't going to happen. It must be so much easier ttc when you have children already, as you know your bits are working!

The nurse yesterday said she hoped the next time she saw me it was for baby jabs, which was such a lovely thing to say considering I'd only just met her. Wanted to give her a hug...

I have a new urgency in getting the floor sanded. All the dust is making DH's cough worse, and he can't face me and breath at the same time! Considering I should ov around the weekend, I need to get that paint off STAT so I can hoover everything- including my hair, which seems to be the dust magnet- so we can actually attempt SWOI.

We are categorically NOT trying this month, we are having sex for us, and remembering all the wonderful things about our relationship, and why we love each other, etc. just happen to be doing it right before ov

A Christmas BFP would be awesome.
And would just about make an August baby, if it was on time.

In my head I feel like I need to have got the bedroom done to deserve it...
Which is probably ridiculous, and I need to decorate the house for Christmas, and actually MAKE some presents, and when am I going to get the time if I'm rolling around on the (dusty) floor going at it with the belt sander? Dush.

Ranty mc rant ranty pant rant.

iloveberries · 06/12/2011 13:35

rusulka - your post about making love just for eachother just before ov made me chuckle a lot at my desk! (cue lots of stares form people wondering why the f i am happy at work)

It's interesting that you mention TTC when you already have kids. In some ways I think it does make it easier as you know you and your DH/DP work together but in other ways it is still hard eg. people ALWAYS asking when you're going to give him a little bro or sis, all mum friends PG again so i'm the odd one out, my DS now points at babies everywhere and says "baby, love baby" which makes me want to sob, i seem to hear of SO many women who have secondary infertility etc etc.... so it's still pretty tough!!

notinmy Yeah, as soon as you stop 'trying' the BFP will arrive won't it!!

mooley - hope your examination goes well

blue i've got everything (apart from legs) crossed for you as I need to SWI tonight!!!

lil - at least you don't have the pain of a 2WW this month, just enjoy the crimbo festivities!

count we will be enduring the 2WW together then!
loulou - you're a similar cycle aren't you?

festie HIYA!!!!!!!!

festiemum · 06/12/2011 17:10

Sorry mool just realised your miff-muff probe isn't until tomorrow.. Good luck anyway.

Hi berries!! The whole kids no kids thing is interesting, I think. Both me and DH have kids, so in theory we're fertile, but we haven't had any together yet, so I have this irrational fear that somehow we won't be genetically compatible iyswim? It's all a big confusing mess! But I do remember when I was TTC dd1 wondering if I was even capable of making a baby, so I know what you mean, Loulou. I do wish people would wind their necks in when it comes to making comments about others' life choices though. I have a friend who's just had her first child, but for years she was subject to all sorts of enquiries, all in with the best intentions, but I always kept quiet, because how did they know that she wasn't having fertility issues, or maybe didn't even want kids?! It's nobody's business!

The only person who hassles me now is my Mum, who knows we're TTC, and is on her way into doolallyland, so everytime I see her (at least once a week) she asks me "So, are you pregnant yet?!" Xmas Hmm

Rusulka I loved your post about love-making. I really hope you get your DIY finished so you can indulge in some seriously intimate coupley time!

Bluetinkerbell · 06/12/2011 17:25

:( think this might be me out... went to toilet and has some bleeding... what are the chances of it being an implantation bleed? grmbl!
at least today I picked up CBFM at the postoffice. A friend on MN sent it to me so I can use it... Will have to read manual now tonight... sigh... I so wished this was it...

festiemum · 06/12/2011 17:42

Well you never know Blue, but unfortunately only time will tell. Still, you've got your CBFM, so if it turns out to be AF, you can really knuckle down to a month of perfectly timed SWI.

Sorry :( xx

Discolite · 06/12/2011 18:53

NotinmyKitchen I appreciate you feel it unlikely to happen now but you never know. I can understand you are fed up to the back teeth of false hope though!

Loulou I am with you on the whole TTC no.1 thing. We've been trying for 6 cycles now (although cycle 1 was a disaster in terms of timing so discounted for statistical purposes) and it seems like forever. I know it certainly isn't but the fact that neither me or my DP have reproduced before just makes you even more scared-instead-of-hopeful. All I can hope is that it doesn't take another six months or even more. All the enthusiasm and optimism of cycles 1 and 2 have long departed now! Having said that, struggling to conceive no.2 must be very hard, especially if you really want your child to have a sibling (I personally think it's important).

Rusulka sanding is such a grotty job! My least favourite bit is blowing your nose and seeing all the nasty stuff that you've been inhaling. I hope you get it done soon so you don't have DH sneezing at the sight of you!

Bad luck Blue but as Festie says you can start using the CBFM which should hopefully maximise your chances. Btw Festie my DP is recovering well from his angioplasty - he walked up 3 flights of stairs yesterday without keeling over (or getting any chest pain) so hopefully he will be up to the task in a week or so. He's away tonight so I am having a sneaky pizza (daren't eat high fat food around him, it's not fair!). Right, better post this before the battery dies!

festiemum · 06/12/2011 19:43

Oh that's good news, Disco, sounds like he's doing really well. I have a real fight on my hands with regard to DH and lifestyle changes. He's a short, round man, and he loves high fat food, enjoys the occasional cigarette and is very stubborn. I do my best, but nagging only makes people dig their heels in even further, doesn't it?!

Well, statistics are on our side, aren't they? I think I'm in month 6 now. What is it? (sneeky look at google) 60% conceive within six months, 85% within a year (according to babycentre anyway). Chins up ladies! :)

iloveberries · 06/12/2011 20:12

festie - bet your DH would love being referred to as a short, round man, but since we're sharing mine's a skinny balding guy!! Or should i say, tall, lean dark man ;)

I think whether it is TTC number 1, 2 or more it is always hard but i totally understand that TTC number 1 can cause more worry than others....hang in there ladies.

I am desperate for DS to have a sibling. God, i am sounding really desperate now. how sad.

festie thanks for reminding us of the stats! should make us all feel a bit more hopeful and less like losers. I must be friends with the most fertile bunch ever then as from my 4 mum friends 1 fell pg in month 1, 2 in month 2 and 1 by mistake when still BF and not using contraception......lucky bitches ladies.

blue so sorry that AF is on her way. There's a CBFM thread I started with some nice ladies on. This is my number one place for gossip and chat but there's lots of CBFM chat on that if that's your thing. BIG HUGS. Hope your 2 DCs are making you smile,

right, i'm off for a little rest before my final shag of the month of this TRYING time!

night x

Discolite · 06/12/2011 21:30

Festie don't let your DH see your description! Mine is tall and round! He has lost around 2 stones since I met him (homecooked food does wonders) 3 and a half years ago, and best of all, 9lbs in the last 5 weeks. He's got into the dieting zone now where seeing the weight comes off almost makes up for not being allowed to eat two portions of curry or a McDonalds just as a midafternoon snack.

He's been pretty stubborn in the past but has had a massive wake-up call now so is reasonably compliant :) You are right about the nagging, I love that oh-so-true saying that you can lead a horse to water but you can't make it drink...mostly used by me in relation to getting teenagers to revise :)

I know stats are on our side, actually seeing that 40% take longer than 6 months makes me feel a bit less doomy. So thanks for putting that up!

Berries I guess that anxiety about sibling age gaps replaces the anxiety that first-timers feel. Don't worry about sounding desperate, you want a baby not just for yourself but for the benefit of your little boy and I can completely understand that.

Right, two posts in one day is unheard of for me, so I am going to bugger off and go to bed! Nighty-night everyone!

eggandtoastedsoldiers · 06/12/2011 21:45

Hi flightmates!

Sorry I've been a little awol to SWI without worrying about all my bfn's. I did pick up a company fertility monitor for new year but hopefully I won't need to ever try it. The we shall see. Hope everyone's having a stressfree run up to the holidays.

Sorry can't copy and paste on this stupid pad but my stats update to after due December 21.
