How gutted to log on and find that someone had beaten me to the 1000 post and I couldn't update on the old thread.

Particularly as I got my BFP last night!!! I'd had two BFNs last week and was expecting AF to arrive while on holiday but it never came... Got more and more convinced that I was pg (feeling a bit sick too) as the weekend went on and literally tested within 10 mins of arriving home. Poor DH was still unloading the car as I greeted him at the door with my pink line!

Very excited although a bit apprehensive too. Really want to tell everyone but obviously don't want to this early so am REALLY pleased I have all you lovely ladies on MN to share with.

I was too excited to do more than skim the last few pages on the last thread but did see there had been several other BFPs so congratulations to all those too!

OP posts:
Bluetinkerbell · 07/12/2011 08:47

Made a doctor's appointment, it's definitely AF... not implantation bleeding. Going to discuss my long cycles and not having conceived yet... see what they say...
on top of everything, my DSis had her first BFP yesterday, I feel Envy, :( and Grin all at the same time...
ah well, at least I can help with the move to our new house this weekend, I can get drunk at Xmas... and hopefully new house, new baby will work for us...

MooleyWooleyShamaLamaDingDong · 07/12/2011 09:02

Oh blue I am so sorry for that witch, she is ruining everything, God damn her! How long have your cycles been lately?? I really can sympathise with you and hope that the Dr will be helpful and undertake some tests! How long have you been TTC for now?

It's so hard when you hear of other people getting pg, especially when it's close family!! I have a family member who is pg with her second and both times they just seemed to fall pg - apparently they were not even supposed to be trying until September, but she fell pg in August!! I am really pleased for them but can't help feeling a little bitter because it's not me! It always seems be to be someone else!!!

As you say though, you can have a glass or two over Xmas and a new start in a new house and you just never know!!!

iloveberries · 07/12/2011 09:37

Aaaah, blue so sorry to hear that AF arrived. really disappointed for you.

I totally sympathise with the feeling when others just get knocked up at the drop of a hat.... though having seen all the stories on mumsnet it does realise that a lot of the time you don't know what someone went through to get their baby....

mooley ditto, i know how you feel. hang in there chicken.

I do think, (and this might sound totally awful but please don't judge me) if it is a little harder for you to conceive that you kind of appreciate what you have a bit more. Of course when i had DS i was delighted but since TTC number 2 i have felt so much stronger about him, it's like i realise just how bloody lucky i am to have him. So when our babies appear they will be totally doted on!!!

The women i know in RL who struggled to have their babies never complain about them whereas those who fell at the drop of a hat whinge a lot more about mundane things.....

So yesterday was my 2nd peak on CBFM and we tried, god we tried DH was banging away for a good 40mins but bless him he just couldn't, ahem, finish the job. He felt really bad but we had done it the previous 2 nights and i know he's not a 3 in a row kinda guy so i tried not to show the disappointment. We'll try and give it another go tonight and then my work for this month is done.

Trying to be positive but feel another BFN coming on 22nd dec :( Still, i guess at least as others say it'll be 'over' by christmas and i can have a drink and enjoy DS.

Hope everyone's feeling ok today. This thread is WELL overdue some BFPs! x

louloubellamozzarella · 07/12/2011 10:38

Hi gals

Blue that's so crappy. I know it's not much comfort but at least in the ne year you'll be settled in your new home. Moving is stressful, so when that's sorted perhaps this will help with TTC? It'll be one more thing off your plate at least. Hang on in there.

moowoo and blue bah humbug Xmas Envy to friends and family members getting BFPs. I know it's mean and any good news is of course something to be pleased about but there's only so long you can go on feeling pleased for people without a bit of envy.

No SS here - no symptmes to spot - boring. Roll on next week.

Rusulka · 07/12/2011 10:40

Moo good luck today. Your chart looks, er, interesting- I would say the temp shift does indicate ov, but does it match up with other signs? I think you should do a bit of rumpy pumpy on the off chance.

Blue if it helps, we were really stressed in our old house, and once we moved (which was stressful) we are so much happier and relaxed. The old house was kind of poisoning me in a way- bad atmosphere, not a nice place to live- I was like Jack Nicholson in The Shining! I took it out on DH all the time. Our new house is a much nicer place to be, and since we're planning on staying for the long haul, I've been able to throw away so many boxes. It's liberating not to have to keep the packaging!!! I'm sure you'll find that once you get settled your relationship will be so much better just for being in a better environment.

Berries I completely agree with you on appreciating children more if it's been a struggle to have them.
The last place I worked the pregnant teacher was always complaining about back ache in the staff room, and all I could think of was you lucky bitch! Stop whingeing!

I went in Asda the other week and someone had left their toddler in one of those little vehicles that attaches to the back of a bike! Outside by themselves!I went in and told security, I was so furious. How hard is it to undo some straps and put them in the f**king trolley? Seriously?

Also, (and this is much much worse) about a year and a half ago, when I was walking back from work, this awful-looking young mum and her toddler on a plastic chunky bike were crossing the road near a roundabout, and he wasn't going fast enough for her, so she walloped him round the head and screamed "I said get a move on you f*king c*t". He didn't flinch. He just took it. He was completely emotionless.
I struggled to get home in one piece, and once back I cried my eyes out for that little boy. Where I live there seem to be a lot of people who get pregnant to get the benefits and a house, and they just don't treat them very well. It's one step up from homeless people getting a dog so they can get more money.
A bit off topic, but it bothered me. If I'd known where they lived, or I'd got a name, I would have reported her.

Oops, bit of a rant.

Incidentally, the floor is half sanded, whoop! And I've been carefully sweeping up all the dust. Yesterday I cleaned myself down with wet wipes, including my hair, (no point showering when I'm getting filthy again today), and DH could breath fine, so we attempted some SWOI, only... he couldn't ahem, finish because he was... [hangs head in shame emoticon]... put off by the smell of my armpits.
Wah! Still, I got some exercise, lol.

Today he's working late night, so I'm hoping to do the other half and the skirting boards. And sorry count, but I never want to see floorboards AGAIN after this. Especially not painted ones! Fortunately none of the other rooms have painted floors. I just have to take up the carpet and sand it for 5 mins in my Doris Day dress while simultaneously baking a cake. They'll be that easy!

MooleyWooleyShamaLamaDingDong · 07/12/2011 10:54

Xmas Grin Rusulka you do make me laugh!!! Can't believe DH was put off by the stench from your armpits Xmas Grin he should have just grinned and bore it, it's for a greater cause Xmas Smile and besides, DS should have ensured that your armpits were well away from his nostrils Xmas Wink

Glad you are getting on with the sanding though, i know it's hardwork and not fun at all, but it does sound good!! We are only renting at the moment so can't really do much to the house, but it doesn't really need that much doing to it so I can't really grumble!!

loulou sometimes having not symptoms is in fact a symptom so fx'd for a stay away on the old hag whore next week!!!

berries sorry DH failed to finish, maybe the spermies were tired out from all the previous action! 40 mins is good going though our SWI last night was over in a flash (more my fault than his though as I am really finding it a chore at the moment!!!

Egg welcome back

MooleyWooleyShamaLamaDingDong · 07/12/2011 10:56

Also meant to add that today my CM is creamy and my CP low, firm and open! I never really get any fertile CM (think because of the PCOS) but yesterday CP was soft, medium/high(ish) and open!!! I really hope I have ov'd, but I am sure the u/s today will prove otherwise!!!

Bluetinkerbell · 07/12/2011 11:08

good luck with the ultrasound Mooley I'm off to the docs now!

Bluetinkerbell · 07/12/2011 12:07

just went to the docs... I was glad it was a woman! and then saw she was pregnant :(
maybe that's why she caved in. I asked if they could do any tests to see when/whether I ovulate. First she said to wait 3-6 more months and asked if that was ok... I started to cry and said no... So she booked me in for blood tests! Need to go to hospital this Friday, as they have no one in the practice to take blood grr... DH is not going to be happy with that...
and then another blood test on the 28th of Dec...

iloveberries · 07/12/2011 12:36

oh blue you poor thing!!! But at least you have tests booked!

mooley - i WISH ours would have been over in a flash!! Maybe i need to get some new moves to spice things up a bit!

rusulka - your story about the little boy on the bike made me shudder and well up. Poor thing. God, i hate that all these crap parents can just pop out millions of kids whilst smoking 20 a day and drinking strongbow (errrrm, stereotyping i know!!)

i feel like ariel off the little mermaid today and want to sing "when's it my turn???"

MooleyWooleyShamaLamaDingDong · 07/12/2011 13:49

blue glad you have got some tests arranged, even if you did have to fight for them!! Some people, especially those who have successfully conceived, just don't realise sometimes how difficult this can be!

Well, just got back from the hospital myself, probe up the hoo ha not as bad as i was expecting, the nurse said that PCOS was borderline, apparently there are cysts both on the edges of my ovaries and within but my ovaries aren't enlarged and she said i have no outward symptoms/signs of PCOS, so the bloodtest results will be what the doc goes off. I am a little concerned that there might be something else up though and if it's not PCOS then what the effing hell is going on!!! The more I think about it, and I think about it a lot, the more I am worrying myself that I just might not be able to have children! She checked my womb as well and made no comment on that, not even a well everything looks ok there what if everything is not ok!! Not even sure when I call the doc to get results Shock

Sorry for the rant just needed to get that off my chest!

iloveberries · 07/12/2011 13:59

mooley - you poor thing, that all sounds very stressful for you. Why don't you give your GP a ring just to chat it through and find out when you get the results/what the next stage is?

i went for a coffee this morning with an old friend who happened to tell me in passing that it took her 8 months to conceive her DD1. I told her we were TTC and she went on to tell me (in a nice way so as to make me realise it was normal) that 3 of her best friends (who i kind of know too) took over a year with theirs, but not for any reason other than that it took time.....

think i might have to lighten up about it all..... mentally wondering how many DPO to wait till I POAS

MooleyWooleyShamaLamaDingDong · 07/12/2011 14:16

berries yes, called the surgery and was told that it can take anything up to 10 days for the results to come back in and to call in a week but that if there was anything that needed to be discussed then they would call me anyway - so a waiting game really! If everything is ok and it's just the PCOS then I would need to discuss medication etc so will have to go in anyway, but still doesn't stop the stress and worry!!!

Like all of us here, i just want some answers! I am sure that if it was anything horrendous then something would have been said there and then, but maybe a radiologist has to see the scans rather than the sonologist!! Aaargh, why does everything have to be so complicated!! Feel in limbo at the moment!!

berries sometimes it does just take some time, doesn't stop the agonising though!!

iloveberries · 07/12/2011 14:24

i think if they could see anything mools then they probably would have told you there and then.....

thinking of you x

louloubellamozzarella · 07/12/2011 15:25

Glad you have your hosp appt out of the way moo - hold tight for the results - all this waiting will make you v patient eh... I just hope the results give you something to go on - chances are they will so you can look forward to knowing more next week :)

berries - I think it's good to chat to people about TTC sometimes as it does help you keep things in perspective. I think all you hear about is women who announce their pregnancies - and those who are having trouble tend to keep quiet. It's understandable but does skew your perception of how easy it is to get up the duff! Glad it's helped you feel better. One of my close friends (the only one I've told that we're TTC) has been trying for over a year so her experiences have been a useful view of how things can go and have helped me to keep my impatience under check!

rusulka what a horrible thing to see kids who aren't appreciated as they should be :(

Sorry to hear about your armpit faux pas - next time tell DH that he should be appreciating your pheromones (aren't they meant to attract the opposite sex?!) Glad to hear operation power tools is going well - I'm rooting for you to finish soon so you can get those decs up, relax and get a baby made :)

Countmyblessings · 07/12/2011 20:04

hi ladies - ohhhhhh Blue sorry that awful, flippin, stupid, hag, hag, hag!
and i understand that you are happy & sad at the same time for your sister!
and for those who ermmm DH couldnt complete the deed, i guess it must be so hard knowing that they may have let the team down! (smell those pits!!!!!)
so thats a No on sanding my floors, oh well never mind.
MOOWOO- you'll get the results back really soon and i hope it helps get some answers you need!
ilove - hugs!!!!
festie- big hugs over to you!
well im just here waiting but not hlding my breath just getting on and as the days tic passed i guess i will know how soon when my time is due!!!!!

Rusulka · 07/12/2011 22:37

Moo! Glad it's out of the way. I had to go when I thought I had PCOS, and for the ultrasound I could barely keep my wee in, so was really relieved when they let me have a wee before the up periscope.
My doctor incidentally, insisted I didn't have PCOS, and that my facial hair problem (not a full-on beard, honest) was due to being 'overweight'. If I wanted to have something done about it, continued 1950's doctor, I could go to a 'beauty parlour' and have them remove it.
Cheers a bunch, knobhead.

In other news, all the paint is off the floor! Xmas Grin
Just need to get the black marks off, get the bits round the edges, and do the skirting boards... ran out of toxic goop halfway round, dush. Will go buy nitromors tomorrow, that's nasty stuff and will do the trick.

Loulou I can't wait to just finish the sodding room! Really looking forward to putting decorations up. Should hopefully finish the room and ov simultaneously around the weekend.

I have had a proper bath tonight, so DH better not complain about my armpits again or he'll get a kick in the teeth- either that or I'll sit on his face, and not in a good way.
Sometimes when he's feeling mischievous, he likes to stand over me when I'm sat in bed and teabag me. Let's see how he likes it the other way round!

festiemum · 08/12/2011 06:48

Rusulka Xmas Grin at DH teabagging you! Also Xmas Shock at that Doctor; what a f**king cheek!

Ooh dee, notin - we are all due the same time - FX for us!

HI count!!!!

Oh mool, sorry no answers were forthcoming. I have had experiences like that with medical professionals before; likelihood is, she thought she was being reassuring, but that's never the way you're left feeling when you want answers, is it?

Blue - I'm glad you got somewhere with your GP - hopefully you'll get some answers.

xxxxxx and Brew and Thanks to everyone who's in need this morning.

MooleyWooleyShamaLamaDingDong · 08/12/2011 09:13

Xmas Grin Rusulka you do bring a much needed smile to my face!! Thank you Xmas Grin well don on all your hard work with the floor! Bet you'll be glad when it's all finished and the decs are up and you can relax and enjoy the festivities!

festie you are indeed correct, I just want to get this sorted so I can get cracking, just feel as if all the SWI is wasted when I am not even ovulating!! Really never thought it would be this hard!

Oh count are you in the 2ww?? Hope that it's not driving you too crazy and that the awful hag whore stays away.

Have a busy day today so hopefully should keep my mind occupied! Will try and drop in later to see how you are all fairing.

festiemum · 08/12/2011 10:47

Hope you're managing to keep yourself busy Mool. Meant to ask - what did your temps do this morning? They were looking promising yesterday! xx

Notinmykitchen · 08/12/2011 10:54

Blue Sorry to hear the witch got you, bloody evil bitch! Can't believe the doc was pregnant, there does seem to be a lot of it about at the moment, except on here! Sad

Berries what you said is spot on, I know I appreciate DS far more because it took me a while to get him, I can't say I never moan about him, but at the back of my mind I am always aware of how lucky I am to have him!

Rusulka I am in awe of all your DIY efforts, I can't help imagining you as a sort of female Bob the Builder at the moment! It sounds like there are some truly horrible people around your way though, poor kids!! I have seen several people recently who are pregnant, despite horrendous lifestyles, you know the kids have no chance, yet here we all are, doing it all right(ish) and nothing! Not fair!

Moowoo you WILL get there, it may be that you need some help to get things going, but I have no doubt that it will all be worth it in the end, just hang in there! I had a look at your chart, I reckon at the very least your body is trying to ov, which has to be a good sign!

Dee you are right, very similar, how long have you been trying this time? Fingers crossed! Festie too, will be an interesting NYE for all of us!

Rusulka · 08/12/2011 11:02

Was going to move all the furniture round ready this morning, then remembered where christmas tree is... in bedroom 4...which is off bedroom 3... which is chock full of all the pieces of our bed so I can't get in.
[Weeps]
Kind of scuppers the plan for decorating the tree friday night when DH gets home!

Also woke up this morning to find the noxious goop I left on overnight has stripped off the gloss paint to reveal... bright green paint on the skirting boards. WTF?!?!!?

And despite being fresh as a daisy and clean as a whistle, all DH did when we went to bed was remark that I smelled nice, then conked out. Boo! But it was his late night.

So today I get to buy more stinky goop. My dad asked if it would be easier to just replace the sodding floorboards, and I'm starting to seriously consider it, lol!

Hope everyone's feeling positive today.

Moo I aim to please. Xmas Grin
Don't give up hope just yet. Maybe they'll give you a wonder pill! One of my friends at my last job had PCOS and they put her on clomid, I think- she popped out a shitload of eggs, and was majorly wigging out because so many had fertilised/ implanted, then got told off by her doctor because there only ended up being one baby instead of a litter, lol. Can't remember if she went down the IVF route or not though.

Festie that's why I don't go to the doctor's if anything is wrong! Combine that with the nurse at my first smear appt telling me I was being babyish because it was hurting and I was stressed, and you can see why I went about 7 years before having the next one...

louloubellamozzarella · 08/12/2011 11:18

Rusulka - boo to the never ending paint! Solution to tree problem this year - buy a real one Xmas Grin - they are sooon much nicer anyway and will look lovely against your lush wooden floors (and smell all Christmassy). Oh and yes, I'd delegate the new skirting boards to your dad as he suggested the idea (delegation = less work = more time for drinking tea and being project manager).

Hi count - good to see you're still around! You'll be testing at the end of next week right?? Haven't see Liliana, Maisie or Glimpers in a little while - shout out if you're still around as you're also testing around the same time to see your BFPS (trying out positive thinking this week!)

Oh moo hold on in there. Is there something nice you could treat yourself to this/next week to keep you going through this tough time? Hope they call with your test results soon. Just a random thought, but do you do much aerobic exercise? I have a (completely unproven and only supported by my own experiences) theory that some good aerobic exercise helps the boy to settle down and get back to its proper cycles. I always feel like that when I start doing more running anyway.

Had my third acupuncture session last night - generally feel like I have loads more energy despite being really busy and having late nights a lot recently. Aldo no swollen glands which was a symptom I wanted to get sorted out. When my energy levels have been worked on the lady is going to concentrate on my cycles - bring that part on!

Moo have you thought about acu for your PCOS? Lots of women have it as treatment - may be worth looking into if you're interested.

Aside from that life is pretty dull here... looking forward to the weekend - have a night in posh hotel Friday (shame it's not SWI time...) and then seeing some friends for a girly sleepover. One of them knows about us TTC and one doesn't - tempted to tell the other one so we can bore her with our TTC moaning but really think I should hold back as I don't want the added pressure of other people knowing and asking questions, hmm.

Oh and my boobs seem to have inflated in size overnight (well increased a bit anyway) - ow... this is surely a sign of impending BFP, right? :)
