How gutted to log on and find that someone had beaten me to the 1000 post and I couldn't update on the old thread.

Particularly as I got my BFP last night!!! I'd had two BFNs last week and was expecting AF to arrive while on holiday but it never came... Got more and more convinced that I was pg (feeling a bit sick too) as the weekend went on and literally tested within 10 mins of arriving home. Poor DH was still unloading the car as I greeted him at the door with my pink line!

Very excited although a bit apprehensive too. Really want to tell everyone but obviously don't want to this early so am REALLY pleased I have all you lovely ladies on MN to share with.

I was too excited to do more than skim the last few pages on the last thread but did see there had been several other BFPs so congratulations to all those too!

Ahh moowoo - he probably didn't understand what was up and maybe is feeling the pressure too. Still, not a great reaction is it?! You can always rely on men to not think ebout the situation/what you're thinking... Anyway, I hope you manage to talk to him about it - misunderstandings are best nipped in the bud early, from my experience!

Your bloating sounds like me the past couple of months - I've really noticed it - along with boobs inflating and deflating like a pair of water balloons! Not sure exactly what it is - maybe your hormones getting back into the groov of things if ov is regulating itself?? That's what I thought anyway - hope it's not always gonna be like this! I think I also need to cut down on the bread as I know that doesn't help matters for me :( I find lots of fruit and veg and herbal tea (something like peppermint or fennel) helps the bloating go down.

egg I can't remembe rif you've tested yet?? I like your crying test, sounds like a good one :) Keep us updated. I've been crying at everything lately, esp Don't tell the bride - pathetic - and I have no excuse other than blaming my silly post-pill hormones Angry

festie - sounds like a good weekend. I could do with a night on the tiles, sigh... although I cannot handle more than a couple of drinks any more without a horrible hangover so it's probably for the best! You are SO right on the point that a few more of us get BFPs every month. It's just a waiting (and trying) game really.

Hi maternal and congrats. Now if you could just do a walk around the plane to emanate your pregnancy hormones that would be marvellous Grin

Bluetinkerbell · 21/11/2011 12:21

Mooley jep I know that feeling, not nice at all! DH has bought fertility friendly lubricant for me Wink to help with it!
sorry your DH was rubbish on you...

Fertility Friend is doing a huge discount on a one year membership via their FB page. It is $24.95 for a year instead of $120... dont't know whether to go for it or not.

It still hasn't detected my ov... seems my temps are all over the place compared to last cycle... my chart

Signet2012 · 21/11/2011 13:37

Soo.... AF due 24th. Not feeling any PMT type feelings. Stomach ache like period pain week before last but nothing since.
I am going to expect AF on 24th and if nothing will POAS on 26th.

fiddles with test packaging manically

iloveberries · 21/11/2011 15:22

signet you are doing very well to be restrained. i applaud you :) i wish you the very best of luck.

mooley i don't know what to say matey except it sounds like your DH is generally a top guy so perhaps it was a blip and he was having a tired, thoughtless, man moment?? Feel free to rant anytime m'love.

loulou i LOVE don't tell the bride - did you see the thorpe park one the other week, f'ing classic!!

Thanks to all the other lovely ladies bringing up my mood. I always go to a playgroup on a monday where my 4 close mum friends are (the super-fertile-all-preggo-with-number-two gang). I nearly didn't go as i was feeling a bit sorry for myself but decided it wasn't fair on DS to stay home as he loves playgroup. Picked myself up and went and to be fair it was ok. Of course I felt envious of them all rubbing their bumps and discussing their mat leave plans.... but i also remembered that they will all have very small age gaps which will be knackering (i know there are lots of pros to small ages gaps but i am focusing on the cons to make myself feel better!!!) , and that none of them will be having champagne in the run up to christmas, and that come spring they will all be having sleepless nights and i won't.

I have decided I am going to try and be very nice to myself this month rather than beat myself up about not getting pregnant...

festie you are right that more of us are getting BFPs each month. Surely this month it's time for some of us 'frequent fliers' to get ours???

Liliana1 · 21/11/2011 15:30

Hi everyone,
Had a rubbish few days, AF arrived with avengence - 2 days of really heavy globby flow (sorry TMI), cramps and general rubbishy feelings on top of a tough week at work. Think it all came at once and then I get ill - home on the sofa today and beginning to feel human again.

So now that's behind us we're onto a shiny new month with plentiful TTC opportunities! Going to give the amazon opk's a go, thanks Rusulka for the info - will give in to my obsession Grin

Glimpers I'm joining you with the PMA.

Been reading through to catch up with goss, Great news oggy I'm so pleased for you, you're post had me really excited for when I get a 'pregnant' on my expensive CB stick which is only to be used when I am 99% certain!

Moowoo sorry you are having such a rough time and hope tomorrow brings something positive (it is your appointment tomorrow?)

So pleased I get to stay with you all and looking forward to having a baby before next christmas. This month would be perfect for working mat leave around the summer holidays - I can see my class to the end of the year and leave.

PMA packed along with some spare pants, off to join the mile high club!!

MooleyWooleyShamaLamaDingDong · 21/11/2011 18:25

Thanks everyone!! Feeling a bit better now! Not sure whether to try again tonight in case I ov today but can't see much more EWCM! It still feels wet up there but the CM is on the scant side!!!

blue I had a look at your chart and if it wasnt for those early high temps I'd have said ov had occurred but looks like your not quite there yet!! Look at how the temps have dropped you might gearing up!! Any sign of the EWCM or anything yet?

berries yes he is a good 'un! Think I was just a little frustrated and over emotional! Found myself crying over Casualty on sat night so must be all the hormones!!

Liliana yea my appointment is in the morning! Really hope it's nothing too serious and can be treated!!! Sorry for the hag whore but at least you can take some consolation that you are not alone!!!

It would be lovely to all get pg at the same tim and continue this journey together! You have all been so fabulous I would miss you all so much if we have to leave!!!

iloveberries · 21/11/2011 19:59

Good Luck tomorrow mooley - make sure you update us all.

Liliana - F**K off hag whore and don't come back and bother Liliana again.
liliana - i saw from your stats you've been TTC a while.... have you had any help from docs etc? (sorry, i hope that's not too personal... I hope since we share the details of our CM/AF etc that it is acceptable to cut straight to it but please don't feel obliged to answer if it is too nosey of me).

off to have an early night. Got a poorly DS at the moment so haven't slept well for a week or so :(

iloveberries · 21/11/2011 20:00

p.s. just read that and want to make clear i am telling lilianas hag whore to fuck off. not liliana!!!

Rusulka · 21/11/2011 21:13

Well, I'm back after a long weekend away and I see we have more BFPs, congrats oggy and maternalmusings!!!

Commiserations to the ladies brought down by the red queen, and moo- regards your painful SWI experience, I had the same thing happen to me, except I think we were so concentrated on getting DH ready to go we forgot about me, and there was too much ahem, friction. He basically wouldn't go in, and then it took so much fannying and worrying that it went down! It sounds to me like you were a bit tense about making it work and your hoo-ha clammed up. Remember, his hard-on's no good if you don't have a wide-on. :D

My crosshairs finally appeared on FF, would be nice to get somewhere this month, especially as I finally came clean about the July problem to my mum. She had me when she was 22, so I'm feeling a little like I've missed the boat, but I keep telling myself I was just out of art school then, and 5 years of meeting DH, so poopy timing (not that I care).

Fingers crossed for a fat wodge of BFPs by Christmas!

Rusulka · 21/11/2011 21:14

That should have read 'off' not of. Stupid fingers.

Discolite · 22/11/2011 07:31

Morning all.
Sorry to hear about all the AFs arriving, I'm 9dpo but I suspect mine isn't too far off as I'm still spotting but I'm mostly resigned to this month being a washout like all the others now.

I'm booked in to see the Doctor on Monday, hopefully he'll take me seriously! I do feel a bit more peace of mind now though, taking action rather than being passive helps I think.

Mooley good luck and let's hope the Doc has some solutions/explanations!

Rusulka I'm feeling a bit old too...at 31!

Berries well done for making it to playgroup, it must have been very tempting to stay at home.

Right, better get to work!

Liliana1 · 22/11/2011 07:46

Morning all,

Moowoo thinking of you today, let us know how it goes.

Disco it's not over till you get AF in full soprano!! (And do hope Doc des take you seriously. Take in all your stats and show him/her how serious you are about it)

Rusulka Hope you had a nice weekend, I'm 31 and ttc #1 so am a year ahead. My mum had me at 25 but think that lots of people have children later now

Berries I think anything goes on here - I discuss things I don't with my DH - he just doesn't need that much detail!!

In short I went off the pill and we expected a few months of body adjusting so just didn't try not to get pg iyswim. Then as we were about to start seriously trying DH got a new job and moved away :( Horrible time and only saw each other at weekends so not much chance to concieve although think we did have several months when we got the right time. He has now moved home :) and we had 1 month when he was away on a stag do during ov and 2 months where we have done everything right but no pg.

Sooo he doesn't want to go down the doc route till he feels like we have given it a good go while living together all the time. I do agree as not really sure what I would do if there was a prob - can't afford IVF and don't really know much about it. Guess in honesty it is head in the sand and hoping we don't have to cross that bridge.

Ok that went on a bit - thanks if you're still reading!!!

I'm back to work today so had better get on. Have agood day x

Maisie55 · 22/11/2011 07:47

Morning! am feeling quite excited this morning as have had first high reading on the CBFM!! although feeling slightly confused/skeptical at the same time as have been having 38 day cycles in the past so if I'm getting high now, presumably that means ov can't be too far away which must mean I have a really long LP? anyone know how long an LP can be? Or I wonder if my cycles are shortening? would be nice!

Anyway, I hope everyone is well this morning and trying to feel positive! Smile

Maisie55 · 22/11/2011 07:47

Sorry should have said am n CD14, otherwise all that about long cycles makes no sense at all!

Liliana1 · 22/11/2011 07:51

Maisie Woohoo! Not sure about lp length - moowoo will be along later and she is God of all things conception!! However I would definately be grabbing DH/DP and having some SWI!!!

Notinmykitchen · 22/11/2011 08:26

Good morning all,

Moowoo hope all goes well at the doctors today, will be thinking of you!

Maisie I think LP can be up to 16 days and still considered "normal" so that wouldn't be too far off your usual cycles. I don't know about the CBFM but FF certainly suggests you are usually fertile up to 5 days before ov.

Rusulka how old are you?? I am feeling positively ancient now at 36! Am starting to seriously think I may have left it too late this time. Liliana I was 31 when I had DS, did take a while but its certainly not too old! Sounds stupid but I wouldn't have felt grown up enough before that.

I've been driving myself nuts for the last 24 hours. I've felt queasy, lightheaded, and had funny tastes in my mouth. Trouble is I've had all that before so many times, and it has never meant I was pregnant so I have a feeling this time will be no differentSad

MooleyWooleyShamaLamaDingDong · 22/11/2011 08:32

Mooooooooooorning all!! A little bit anxious about my appointment this morning, will report back later with any news!!

Maisie, you LP can be anything from 8/9 days to a whopping 16 days (i think!) normally it should be 14 days, hence the whole 2ww thing, and it does need to be at least 11 days long to be able to sustain the pg (something to do with the uterine lining disintegrating before the eggy has time to implant). In my honest opionion, the longer the LP the better. Cycles will only be long/short from ov and not the LP, so if you have a 28 day cycle and normally ov on say CD14 but for some reason (stress, hormones etc) you ov a few days later, then it will give the appearance that your cycle is longer, when it's not really, it's just that you ov'd a little later than expected!!
Although there are a few anomolies to the whole LP not changing length (i never knew it could and was enlightened over the weekend!!) generally this should always be the same length!!! Erm, has that helped at all?!? Not really sure if that has actually answered any questions Hmm

But yes, as Liliana said, get some SWI action in as peak is good Grin

louloubellamozzarella · 22/11/2011 09:33

Hi all.

Ooh moowoo where's your info on LP changing? Gosh I have become such a TTC geek as this interests me greatly Grin

berries well done for keeping your chin up and forcing yourself to go out and face the preggers ladies. Can't've been easy but I guess hiding away will only make things worse when you next see then anyway. Just think, when they all have demanding screaming babies, you'll be the one glowing with a lovely bump, dreaming of mat leave :)

Oh and I was sniggering at your 'bitch hag whore' directed at liliana :) hehe.

Liliana sounds like you're right to give it a bit longer with SWI properly. We've kind of had the same problems the past couple of months since we started SWI - I think it took me two cycles to get a normal period and then I was away twice over ov time so I reckon last month was the first real chance we had - although that depends entirely on if/when I'm oving which I'm not 100% sure on :( Anyway, I don't think you're burying your head in the sand - just being realistic.

Good luck with the SWI maisie!! I tested for the second time on my CBFM -it's all v novel at the moment. Hoping I get a hugh reading Thurs or Fri as that's when the calendar says I should be oving... I am prediciting though that I will ov a few days later (at least) which will confirm my suspicions of a short LP. Be interesting to see!

Sorry for those whose AF has arrived - whadda bitch Angry - however, glad that you're sticking around longer - really looking forward to some of the old skool getting BFPs now (as long as you promise not to disembark the flight!!)

festiemum · 22/11/2011 10:12

Morning all. Well my run of bad luck continues apace. As well as having my Dad's funeral tomorrow, not to mention a horrific dentist's appointment on Friday (extractions etc), my Mum (who's pretty disabled and housebound nowadays) had a fall yesterday and broke her arm :(

I live about 60 miles away, and turned up for my weekly visit with the youngest, to find she'd just been taken off in an ambulance! We were five hours in hospital (2 yo was not impressed), no pain relief; pads not changed (she has urinary incontinence), it was bloody awful!

Anyway, left her changed, comfortable and sleeping on the ward, but the trouble is now what to do with her while her arm heals. She can't go home - she can't get about without her walking frame, and with one arm out of action, she can't use that. I think she'll go into interim residential care while she heals, but even beyond that, I think we're coming to the point where permanent care is going to be necessary, and I know she is going to hate that.

Oh arsebiscuits. I have had enough of this!

Sorry for rant. Hope you are all well today. Mooley ENORMOUS luck for Dr's later. My cycle looks like it might think about doing normal stuff so far; but only CD 10 so I'll reserve judgement until next week!

louloubellamozzarella · 22/11/2011 10:28

Oh festie what awful luck :( Hope your mum feels better soon and that you don't have to go through too much stress to sort it all out.

Moowoo forgot to say good luck for the doc's! Do let us know how you got on

Rusulka · 22/11/2011 10:29

Oh Festie, your poor mum! I'm sure everything will turn out ok, there must be some form of care alternative- what about sheltered housing? There must be some way of accommodating her needs without taking away whatever independence she has left. Do lots of research!

Moo, good luck for later, got everything crossed for SOME results (even legs, DH not back til 7, hee)

And Kitchen I'm 30, so probably a bit young to be wailing about infertility just yet, but I'm a panicker. Also about 5 stone overweight (used to be 6!) and DH has wonky balls. Came off the pill at the beginning of the year after a few years on it for the 2nd time, wishing we'd started ttc earlier tbh, although DH didn't want a pregnancy to affect the mortgage application! Grrmph.

What else?

Liliana I think you are taking the right approach. Give it a few more months and see how you go- but remember to track temps and whatnot, then you have a nice body of evidence to take to doc.

Maisie I'm feeling a bit left out, am I the only one without a CBFM!??! Don't think I really need one though as I have my ICPOAOS.

Today I get to tidy the house as penance for being shitty to DH last night. And cook him something nice (as opposed to the bab I usually make).

Wish I was working!

eggandtoastedsoldiers · 22/11/2011 10:56

Well I think I am officially off the flight. No cramps but think the witch is here to stay. Well this is the last flight for the year I think. Need to get a GP appointment to talk through this year of trying. Oh humbug. Wish you ladies the best!

Countmyblessings · 22/11/2011 11:58
