How gutted to log on and find that someone had beaten me to the 1000 post and I couldn't update on the old thread.

Particularly as I got my BFP last night!!! I'd had two BFNs last week and was expecting AF to arrive while on holiday but it never came... Got more and more convinced that I was pg (feeling a bit sick too) as the weekend went on and literally tested within 10 mins of arriving home. Poor DH was still unloading the car as I greeted him at the door with my pink line!

Very excited although a bit apprehensive too. Really want to tell everyone but obviously don't want to this early so am REALLY pleased I have all you lovely ladies on MN to share with.

I was too excited to do more than skim the last few pages on the last thread but did see there had been several other BFPs so congratulations to all those too!

floralflora · 12/11/2011 15:04

Thank you for the welcome back Mama5 and others.

AF due Thursday so may test on Tuesday. When I washed my hair this morning, quite a bit of hair came out which was my first symptom last time I was pg Wink. Gotta stay cool though; could just be seasonal moulting Grin.

Fx for my testing buddies this week.

floralflora · 12/11/2011 15:05

Clarification: AF due this Thursday coming, not Thursday gone!!

Liliana1 · 12/11/2011 17:37

Sounds very positive glimpers there is no way I could wait till Monday, fx for you.

Well I caved and POAS this morning - BFN as expected. I'm only 9/10 dpo though so not completely given up hope. My boobs are huge and sore but no other symptoms so will have to wait paitently. (although now looking out for hair loss in the shower flora, my list of possible symptoms gets longer and longer!!)

What is everyone up to? I'm supposed to be putting things to sell on ebay, anybody want my crap?!

Rusulka · 12/11/2011 18:42

Ooh Liliana, I'm an eBay addict, what kind of crap do you have?!?!?! Lol.

Good news my end, in that the yuk has stopped- it was like DH's stuff flew up there and was all like 'you're not welcome round here, piss off!' and it did!
Hoping for some SWI tonight, though it's DH's 2nd late night in a row, with today being the first Saturday that's an hour later than usual because of Christmas opening. He's going to be well knackered, but I'm going to do his favourite late night tea, so hopefully there'll be a reward for me.
Checked temps, which have risen, but checking other charts, I've had a dip at CD 7/8 before, so feeling a little calmer.

Fingers crossed Glimpers!
Flora that's another symptom that will do me no bloody good, my hair's a good 2-3 feet long and I shed like a dog... They're always getting wrapped round DH's unfortunates, and when I still lived at home, there would usually be one or two hanging out the dog's bum. TMI! Sorry. :D

festiemum · 12/11/2011 22:26

Ha thanks Glimpers - glad I'm showing dedication! Must admit, I was a woman on a mission this morning, when I took DH "in hand" as it were! Blush Luckily, the children were watching TV downstairs!! LOL at leather seats too!

Hey Flora, never heard of that symptom, but if you've had it before, it sounds very promising!

What you selling Lilliana? I too am a complete ebay addict!! Good luck with the wait. It's so hard not to test!!

Rusulka - glad your yuk has stopped and :o :o :o Shock :o :o :o at your hair round DH's unfortunates and up the dog's bum!!! :o

I am waiting with baited breath to see what my temps do in the morning. FX for a temp rise and some sort of sign that ov is happening! We shall see!

Rusulka · 12/11/2011 23:30

I'll keep my fingers crossed for you too Festie!

Not my legs though, hoping for action tonight but not looking good. Dh has a sore throat. Boo hoo. :S

festiemum · 13/11/2011 02:45

Well, it's not good if you're up at 2.30am mumsnetting, is it?!

AF has arrived. So, I've had another anovulatory cycle. Looking back over my charts, I basically haven't ov-ed since the miscarriage in August. I had a 29 day cycle straight after; last month a 26 day and no temp shift. This month only 24 day and no shift (My cycle's always been 29-32 days long).

So, reading around it on t'internet; it seems that some people's cycles can go a bit weird after an m/c (though mine was so early, it seems a bit unfair that it would mess me up this much). However, I'm wondering now whether to see my GP to check everything's OK. I didn't see her after the m/c, as it was so early and seemed to clear itself.

On the other hand; this month has been unbelievably stressful, and obviously, that could be messing with my cycle too.

I'll level with you guys; I don't think we will conceive this time (this is my 4th child, but my 1st with DH). With my other 3 DC I conceived on the 1st or 2nd month. I was one of those women who everyone hates; they get pregnant so easily. This time, well I did get pg the first month, only I miscarried very early, and I haven't ov-ed since! I'm 38 - is this early menopause?!

I'm freaking out, and crying (and I can't be sure it isn't partly to do with losing my Dad so recently either) It doesn't help that my good-for-nothing ex, who left me for a much younger woman when our youngest was only 4 months old, now has a beautiful baby with said woman.

Sorry ranty rant rant..... I don't know what to do next though.

eggandtoastedsoldiers · 13/11/2011 07:12

festie So sorry that the witch has come. I take it that you have been to the GP about everything. It seems like you have so much going on I hope it takes a positive turn soon.

MooleyWooleyShamaLamaDingDong · 13/11/2011 07:49

Oh festie you are really going through the mill! Please don't give up yet, 38 is still soooo young for TTC :) I really recommend making an appointment with your GP, like you said, you have not sought medical advice following your m/c and no matter how early into a pg, a m/c is significant and they need to know!

I am no expert but I seriously doubt you are looking at early menopause; the combination of your m/c, news of ex and losing yor dad are highly emotional events, plus your own DH has had is own medical issues that no doubt have been playing on your mind! These can all make your cycle do whacky things!

Although you can bleed without ovulating, this bleed would be different from regular AF (much lighter and shorter - I speak from experience as I has one in August lasting 3 days and did not need any protection!!). Despite what the temps might say you had all the other correct fertile signs! Your cycles are shorter because of the m/c and stress ( in my humble opinion). My chart last month looked anovulatory but my bleed was so heavy that there is no way that
I did not ov!

I think a chat with the GP will definitely help to put your mind at ease and there are tests they can run to check for menopause (I have just had mine done and am waiting for the results.....eek!!)

Try to have a relaxing day and get DH to pamper you :) and feel free to rant at any time this is why we are here Thanks :)

We did not manage to dtd last night, a combination of being tired and wierded out by my parents sleeping in the room next door! Looks like I have not ov'd yet anyway as temp still low(ish) today so body still playing silly buggers!! Definitely be at it later though when we are alone again!!!

iloveberries · 13/11/2011 08:03

hey ladies,

festie - i agree with what mooley said, I would be surprised if it was early menopause.... you have had a really rough time of it though... maybe put TTC to one side till after christmas and enjoy the festivities with the kids? (you'll probably fall pg if you're not trying anyway!!) sending Thanks

Well I have convinced myself i am pg as i have had tummy twinges since a couple of days post ov. i had a lot of twinges early on when pg last time... if it doesn't happen this month we're going to 'postpone' till new year and enjoy all the bubbly over the festive period!! I will be testing in a week.

glimpers - exciting news, fingers crossed for you.

flora my hair is falling out too - but i think it always does that

rusulka - why the F was your hair round your dogs bum???!!! that is too weird!

louloubellamozzarella · 13/11/2011 08:31

Oh festie :( - I second all that moowoo said - make sure you get it checked out to put your mind at rest. Life's unfairness becomes crystal clear when you see bastard exes producing sprogs with no effort. It'll be worth it in the end though - try not to think the worst - it really is more likely to be your MC combined with stress that's causing the problems.

POAS this morning and BFN - not really surprised as haven't had any symptoms to speak of the past few days. Will try again but I'm going to wait till Thursday (if AF doesn't arrive in the meantime) to test again - a test of my new relaxed attitude (haha let's see how long I last!!) I only have a few cheapie tests left but am not buying any more so I can't be tempted to over-test!! sigh - I really don't think we've done it this month, again...:(

Glimpers · 13/11/2011 08:50

Oh festie big un-MN type hugs for you. Don't underestimate the effect of losing your DDad, I lost mine 18 months ago and having always been a daddy's girl, I was devastated. Take time for you, to deal with what's happened and be kind to yourself.
I would third what moowoo and loulou have said and take a trip to the docs, if for nothing else than to get your concerns noted down.
Well, I've POAS again an have got another faint line. It came up within the 3 mins and in natural daylight you can see a faint line, so I think we've only gone and bloody done it! Holding off on the full blown excitement til I get a stronger line though. Will test again on Thursday (if AF has still not appeared of course) as I would then be 1 week late, which is when I found out with DD.
The downside of this possible BFP is that I can't take any painkillers for my back which has decided to play up after hoovering the house top to bottom yesterday Sad kept me awake most of the night Sad feeling like shit GREAT today Angry
Oh well, on with the day, what have we all got planned?
loulou I tested before AF due and got a BFN and have only started getting faint lines at 2 and 3 days late, so it's not over yet fx for you.

louloubellamozzarella · 13/11/2011 09:06

Wowee glimpers that's great news!!!! Can you use some of that ibruprofen gel on your back (not sure if ok for PREGNANT women (hehe)? If not a warm water bottle. I'm a big yoga fan so maybe try some gentle stretches too :)

I'm an early tester - I think AF is due Thursday (yes I know it's silly testing this early! The only thing that made me do it was my tummy cramps last weekend honest Blush)

I used a first reponse test which is meant to work for up to six days before AF though - anyone know the sensitivity of these compares to internet cheapies? I won't test again till Thurs but it'd be nice to hold out a bit of hope.

I'm off to see a couple of friends for lunch and some shopping today. Just wante the weekend to last a couple of days more!

louloubellamozzarella · 13/11/2011 09:14

Ok, just checked out internet cheapy sensitivity to HCG. They are mostly 10mIU - first response I think are 12.5mIU. I've only ever bought a double pack of FR from Amazon which were half the price of buying in supermarket but even that is a big fat waste of money - will definitely be sticking to ebay to supply my pee sticks in the future!

Glimpers · 13/11/2011 09:29

loulou I have read on here somewhere that Superdrug ones are 20mIU so not sure if you're near to one?

festiemum · 13/11/2011 11:18

Oh ladies, thank you so much for your kind words. Trying to step out of my own (muddled) head, I think if I read about my situation from another person, I would think it was definitely the chemical pg, combined with stress and the cycles will get back to normal soon.

Even so, I think you're right, and a check with the GP might be a good idea, just to put my mind at rest.

DH let me lie in, even though he didn't realise I was up from 2-4am googling stuff! Shock He's now mending my car (which broke down on Friday - never rains etc, eh?!!) He's a proper gem! :)

Glimpers that is amazing news! Well done! Though I have always felt the same about wanting to see a stronger line. I think that's why people like the digi tests, isn't it!? Still, a line is a line is a line!!!!! Thanks

Loulou, Glimpers is right, Superdrug tests are ace, though I think they may be even more sensitive than that; more like 12.5 like the FR. Although IC's claim to be 10mIU, I think they vary wildly. When I had my chemical I got positives before AF was due with the Superdrug; After with Sainsburys (which are more like 25 mIU) but never with the IC's which were supposed to be 10mIU.

Having said that; got early positives with 2 previous pgs with IC's with no trouble at all, so, who knows??!!!! Confused

Mooley - don't blame you for not managing to get the SWI in - some things are just beyond the call of duty! Sounds like you're still in the game this month though!

Anyway -rest of Sunday is now officially 'kind to Festie day'! Thanks to you all; you have made this all so much easier than it would have been without your support! xx
Thanks Thanks Thanks Thanks Thanks Thanks Thanks Thanks Thanks Thanks Thanks Thanks Thanks Thanks Thanks Thanks Thanks Thanks Thanks Thanks Thanks Thanks Thanks Thanks Thanks

eggandtoastedsoldiers · 13/11/2011 11:32

So I have no willpower. I am six days to my AF and I cant stop this feeling of wanting to run in the bathroom and test. I have First Response and a small stack of the early POAS sticks from amazon... I hate this wait. How early you reckon I could test without being silly. and the time of day such as first thing in the morning recommended?

MooleyWooleyShamaLamaDingDong · 13/11/2011 13:19

Always with FMU egg and if you can I would wait until either a couple of days before AF or the day of AF (if it's a no show!) but I know it's hard and I have tested everyday from 6 days before AF in the past!!! Blush

notnowImreading · 13/11/2011 15:37

Hello ladies - some names I recognise on here from the May thread - hope you are all doing okay. I'm back having another go after second early mc and had a damn good try in the zone this month so if we've been successful that makes it just/almost a July bean.

I have to say, I had better be pregnant after the way I've been feeling. I've had
*exhaustion (only just got up at 3:15pm)
*self-pity
*intermittent sore boobs
*crazy dreams
*disturbed sleep

Actually, looking back at that list, perhaps I am just being lazy and grumpy! I haven't had too many abdominal twinges, which were my major pg symptoms both previous times, but then those pregnancies clearly weren't meant to be so I'm not going to take them as examples of what it's supposed to feel like.

Could someone add me to the stats list please? Am on the phone and can't copy/paste:
notnowI'mreading ttc 1 AF due 18Nov

Glimpers · 13/11/2011 17:02

Well, looks like I was right to hold off on the full blown excitement as whilst I have just been stood ironing I got cramps and when I went to the loo and wiped there was bright red blood Sad
Feeling even worse as DH is thousands of miles away and not with me Sad
Oh well, guess I've got to chalk it up to experience and suck it up.
I would like to know what the hell my AF was doing though as I am never late and it strung me along for 3 days Angry
Off to drink copious amounts of tea and smoke lots of fags cos I can Grin

Liliana1 · 13/11/2011 17:56

Festie everyone else has given you great advice so rather than repeat it I will just give you some Thanks Brew Biscuit and un-mn ((hugs))

So sorry glimpers this happened to me a few months ago and is so sad, hope your Dh is home soon.

Rusulka and Festie I'm selling some dresses, ski stuff, bike helmets and jacket (DH has a large collection as he 'needs' new stuff everytime he gets a new motorbike!) and assorted crap that has accumulated over the last few years.

Rusulka have some very graphic mental hair images now!

POAS again this am - BFN. Not really any more symptoms, but have fallen asleep on the sofa this pm, feeling shattered, but that could be simply due to lazyness!

Hope we get some more BFP's soon

eggandtoastedsoldiers · 13/11/2011 20:14

Evening all, six days to my (hopefully not) AF and have a sore lower belly. Being silly I am looking up everything online in hope I am having implantation/preg symptoms. Why do I do this to myself. None of it makes sense, obey if you have a snotty nose you could google "snotty nose pregnant" and it will come up as a symptom. Oh humbug hope everyone else is having more patience than me.

iloveberries · 13/11/2011 21:04

glimpers - i am so sorry :(

Ladies - i know each to their own but i don't get why people test soooooooo early? Either you'll be disappointed and get a BFN, or you'll get a BFP but as it's so early there is way more chance it won't stick.... it seems either way it brings more heartache.... I suppose if you need to know for jabs/occasions where you want to drink but other wise i just don't understand the obession need!! I tested early a couple of times and got BFN once and then BFP another month which didn't stick. Both were really upsetting so now i just wait and see when the bitch AF rocks up!!

it is however hard for me not to symptom spot. Since someone mentioned hair coming out i seem to have moulted EVERYWHERE. Lots of unusual stomach twinges that i have only experienced in my first pregnancy (which resulted in gorgeous healthy DS!)... though i know it could be anything.... AF due next weekend and if it does come i will reward myself with a bottle of wine and 10 fags. naughty naughty but it will make me feel better - even if just for the evening!!

happy sundays everyone! xxx

MooleyWooleyShamaLamaDingDong · 13/11/2011 21:28

Evening all!! Have had such a lovely weekend and thankfully don't think I have ov'd yet!! have been having slight twinges in the ovary area but not too sure what this is and whether it is an ov sign. Hoping it is as plan to dtd tonight and it would be great to see a temp shift in the morning!!

We too have come to a decision to put TTC on hold until after Christmas so that I can have a drink and not worry about it all! However we plan not try as hard!! Am hoping that we catch the eggy this cycle though :) would be lovely to finally be in a two week wait that was real rather than supposing I was whilst my body makes up its mind!!!
