The old thread seems to have run out of room... I'm hoping this works as a continuation...

Hi All, I'm back at home after a very long morning in the hospital. In for 8am but not in the surgery until 12.20. Very thirsty!
They only got 8 eggs so I'm feeling a little disappointed. They're talking ICSI which in my view isn't great, but I don't know all that much about it. Everything is crossed now that a good number fertilise tomorrow....
blacktreacle have you called your nurses? You may just be having a reaction to the drugs, but it's worth checking to find out.
I'm off to bond with the sofa & an episode of Glee before DH returns with DS.

Sorry to hear your news Pink, please try to take care of yourself. Maybe worth another test in the morning?

MrsMiggins, sorry to hear about your scan, do you have PCOS? Fingers crossed it'll all be ok next week.

bugsylugs · 05/11/2011 19:37

Pink definately could be cos too late in the day. tests should be done with first wee in am here is keeping fingers crossed. Try to be kind to yourself .

MrsMiggins good news re surgeons comments, sorry about the scan. Hope for better news next week

MrsMigginslovespies · 05/11/2011 20:36

Nope, not PCOS, just giant gross cysts that pop up and cause all sorts of problems. It's ultimately due to a cyst that exploded that's got me to IVF now.

Try again Pink and take care of yourself.

Watching Mad Men, have a good night all and enjoy the fireworks where you are.

blacktreaclecat · 05/11/2011 21:29

I'm sorry pink I hope it was just too early. I would try with FMU and a first response either tomorrow or Monday.
Mrsmiggins sorry about the cyst.

Pinkforboys · 06/11/2011 11:33

Thanks for all your nice msgs. I'm adamantly staying away from POAS #2 til Tuesday morning when I was supposed to test, but feeling very miserable in the meantime. I've gone from such certainty of a BFP to the opposite. I'm feeling classic pre-mens twisting of my innards. And the other 'symptoms' have just about disappeared.
This will be the most disappointing and expensive period I've ever had!

Just wanted to check in and say hi.
We've got our NHS appointment tomorrow so we should find out how long a wait we've got. I'm also waiting to hear from our private clinic. Hopefully we should find out if they've found a recipient for my egg share this week

Cloclo15 · 06/11/2011 20:23

Hi all, I am sitting here absolutely terrified. After more pinky brown spotting today (a bit more than yesterday but less than a 50p piece) I was convinced it hadn't worked so decided to poas (first response) about an hour ago. My OTD is Wednesday morning which would be 16 days after EC. The result was a clear pink line, not quite as dark as the other one but nearly. In total shock but now very worried about what this spotting is and whether it means I am going to start AF. DH says the spotting is old because of it's colour but I'm not sure. It is very watery and there isn't much of it. I feel so on edge. Is this normal? It has been happening for 4 days, since 5dp5dt :/

blacktreaclecat · 06/11/2011 21:45

Congratulations cloclo!
I'm told not to worry about spotting/ discharge unless it is bright red. I'm also panicking about constant light brown pessary gunk.

glastochick · 07/11/2011 15:38

Deep breath

Hello (waves)

Marking my place as we're about to start IVF in an attempt for DC2. Already got one lovely DS (17 months), and desperate for another. He was conceived via IVF so it gives me hope that it can work again. Just never spent this amount of money on what is essentially a gamble before (gulp).

Currently on CD2 so expecting to start downregging on the 26th. Already feeling nervous. I seem to have blanked the majority of our attempt to conceive DS1 from my memory.

May I ask which clinics you're going to? We're at Bourn Hall in Colchester (formerly ISIS).

Off to read all your posts with a Brew x

Teds77 · 07/11/2011 18:08

Woo hoo clo lovely news!

Welcome glasto

EC for me tomorrow. Eek!!

Cloclo15 · 07/11/2011 18:33

Wow Teds, that has come around so quickly! Good luck - do you know how many follies you have grown?

Not counting my chickens yet, did another test on a cheap Internet strip (not an early detection one) when I got in from work tonight. Urine was quite dilute but managed to get a faint line. Will try again tomorrow morning. Watery brown discharge continues, bit more of it today but much lighter in colour and more watery. Not sure what it is but it's very worrying. The nurses at the hospital said it could be a sign of pregnancy or AF which isn't very encouraging. All I can do is wait now really.

MrsMigginslovespies · 07/11/2011 19:54

Ooh, Cloclo, exciting news so far! Fingers and toes crossed for you that it's good (sounds it so far). Hope you're ok tonight, Blackcat, and hello to you, Glastochick. May this thread be a lucky one for you again, and please send some of your previous luck our way Wink. Teds, tons of luck for tomorrow! Waving and sending Brew your way for a successful treatment.

You'll all be thrilled to know that I had my root canal done today at a fabulous (and expensive private) place in edinburgh and as much as a root canal be, it was a joy! Sometimes, you do get what you pay for (without trying to feel guilty, because my NHS chap couldn't treat me). Feel so relieved it's all over now, especially before egg collections etc later in the month. And hope that I'm finally out of pain.

Beginning to feel a bit tired now, esp as have been down regging since 22nd Oct. Really hope that this Friday's scan gives me the green light to start stimming as want to crack on! Had more acupuncture today to try and shift some gunk away from precious knackered little ovary.

Off for homemade crumble and custard in front of tv with DH and puppy then bath and bed as feeling bit fragile now. TTFN x

bugsylugs · 08/11/2011 04:34

Had jab learning and consent form signing today. And a lovely time in IKEA but my word how crowded it gets for breakfast never knew it was so cheap. so onto DR on Thurs at last, only about 6months late!!!
Waves to all

B.F.N. (and F doesn't stand for Fat)
Have follow up with consultant on Monday and large bar of chocolate to hand today. Sad

I'm afraid I haven't got many smiles to share today, though obviously I am really pleased for Clo this week. Good luck with the stabbing bugsy.
Anyone else in London? I'm already thinking forward to changing clinics....

zeebee1 · 08/11/2011 14:27

Teds - i hope today goes well - or is going well for you as I type this... you will enjoy the drugs - I certainly did Wink!
anyway hope you can take some nice recouperating time at home for a few days doing nothing... you deserve it.
MrsMg so glad you had your root canal done - i've had it once - not nice but at least you feel nothing - although I remeebr the smell of the tooth as they drilled down being YUCK...
clo good news - keep positive - I am sure it's just the "implanting".
hello glasto good luck on your journey - at least you know what to expect - this thread is lovely and very very comforting all the way through....

I'm having a scan on thursday this week to see how things are progressing with Wallace & Gromitt - fingers crossed all will be well! [PRAY] emoticon!

Bye for now

blacktreaclecat · 08/11/2011 17:06

I'm sorry pink. sending you hugs and wine.

MrsMigginslovespies · 08/11/2011 18:28

Ahh, Pink, I'm so sad for you. Am also sending choccies, wine and much sympathy. I'm at the Chelsea and Westminster and so far, they've been wonderful. I do have a long history with them too which helps, but very pleased so far. Feeling tired again today and bit sore from my tooth. Low energy, not helped by feeling it never actually got properly light here.

Hope everyone has a good evening and snuggles down early! x

Cloclo15 · 08/11/2011 19:26

Really sorry Pink sending hugs and hope for a positive result next time.

I did another test this morning with FMU and cheap strip and pink line was darker than yesterday afternoon, though nowhere near as dark as the control line. My FR test on Sunday was clearly positive straight away. Got all my fingers and toes crossed for tomorrow (OTD), our appt is at 10.45. Of course even if its good news I don't think I'll ever feel less anxious about it all, there are so many hurdles to overcome. I didn't have any brown discharge today though which made for a nice change.

Hope EC went well Teds?

MrsMiggins, glad your root canal went well. I was always really tired on the downregs so I don't envy you your extra week! :(

Cloclo15 · 08/11/2011 19:28

Oh and Zeebee - good luck with the scan, I'm sure they are bedding in nicely :)

bugsylugs · 08/11/2011 20:20

pink what rotten rotten luck so sorry. Do take time for yourself cry and be miserable and when able pick yourself up a bit at a time.

bugsylugs · 08/11/2011 20:24

glastochick so sorry I spelt your name wrong that was being up at stupid o'clock
zeebee let us know how the scan goes good luck we are all rooting for you and wallace and gromitt.
clo do not worry about the colour of the line great that there has been no more d/c.

36 hrs until jab not counting or anything. just done 30 day shred!!! so feeling a bit virtuous shouldn't be as should have done some exercise for the last 6 months> where have they gone.

Cloclo15 · 09/11/2011 11:49

Well it's an official positive. Got a scan in three weeks. Don't really know how I'm going to get through them - I have every digit crossed permanently that phoebe (3BB grade blast - DH thought it was very amusing) stays in there. The nurse did say there was a good pink line there and they have been getting stronger over the last few days. She didn't really know what the spotting was - she said it could be me healing after so many eggs collected but I think it's unlikely :/

blacktreaclecat · 09/11/2011 13:47

Cloclo I've got weird brown discharge too. Trying not to worry about it. I got to 13 weeks earlier in the year before we lost the baby (not a mc) and I had it then too so I think this is how I am pg. I'm on utrogestone pessaries and I think they are irritating my cervix as I have a cervical erosion. So it could be the same for you? Or it could be implantation- that can be one bleed or very low level for a while. Could even be a bit of bleeding left over from ET.
Zeebee good luck for your scan
Bugsy Care Notts are great aren't they? Been very impressed.

glastochick · 09/11/2011 14:48

Congrats cloco Smile. I remember waiting for the scan with DS. I was obsessed with POAS. I think I did one every day, and then two on the morning of the scan. DH spent a fortune popping out to Boots and Tesco Grin

Oooh Bugsy, what do you think of the 30 day shred? I really need to do something drastic. Been comfort eating for the national team since decided to try for DC2, and I refuse to buy a new pair of trousers for work in a larger size unless they're maternity ones!

Hope EC went ok yesterday Teds

Oh Pink, so sorry to hear about your BFN. Hugs.

Glad the root canal went ok MrsMiggins. I had two done on maternity leave (only way I could have afforded them to be honest). Not a pleasant experience. Think the worst part was not being able to console myself with a cup of tea and digestives afterwards Grin
