A fresh new thread.

Lets hope this one is as successful as the last and we can help as many people as we can to come to terms with what has happened to them.
Lets spread some christmas support for everyone.

Mygarland - We've decided to go to wrexham today as I've heard horror stories from my best mate who had hers there. Her BF was sent home within 1/2 hour of her giving birth "cos it wasn't visiting hours" wrexham has more relaxed visiting times and the option of private rooms at a little cost. So we're doing that instead.

Did you go shrews when you had your mc?

mygarland · 07/12/2005 13:51

no mxw was living up north when i had mc. had dd3 at shrews tho, well was nearly turned away.

jinglediddle · 07/12/2005 13:53

did any of you see the news, it mgith have just been local to me, you may have seen it xack, a woman who ahd twins, dumped them in a box ont he ground of a Birmingham hospital. Can't imagine doing that ever, feel so sorry for those babies and so angry at the mom for not realising how blessed she is!!!

Potty - glad the hospital wasn't too bad for you, although i know its upsetting. I hope you are finding soem comfort from us on here.

You have all succeeded in getting my mouth watering, yummy cakes.

been busy all morning, and loads to do this afternoon, but i hate catching up with what i've missed.

Yes I heard the news too diddle....boy and girl... terrible they were so cold bless em and I heard once they had warmed up in the incubator they began acting as they should.

mumsXMASwish · 07/12/2005 13:56

stupid woman I can't believe that!

MG - How did you find your stay at Shrews? Is it as bad as they make out?

XmasAngelCrimboKat · 07/12/2005 13:58

Back and forth here (as per).
Hiya JD hun!!
Oh god i did'nt hear that! Poor cow. Makes you wonder what kind of mental state she'd be in to even contemplate such a thing. Makes you shudder when you think of "What if?".

mygarland · 07/12/2005 14:00

diddle - yeah heard about htat the poor women must be very scared

After my eldest, i had such awful pnd. It bordered on post natal psychosis. For a split second I considered handing him back to the hospital as i did'nt think I'd ever be worthy of being called mum by him (I was only 17 at the time). It was literally a split second and I'm not sure how a mum could do it unless she was totally messed up mentally or possibly a very young mum, scared, pg kept secret and did this so no one would know. Hope they find her quickly and give her the help and care she needs to be then reuntied with her babbas.

jinglediddle · 07/12/2005 14:02

hi Xack - thought you were cleaning again "monica" i'm sure you should come round here and give me a hand, my house is never as clean as it could be.

jinglediddle · 07/12/2005 14:03

i agree xack - she must be terrified, or not quite stable. Poor woman could have serious medical problems herself, all that trauma to her body and no time to recover properly.

OP posts:
mygarland · 07/12/2005 14:04

with dd2 i was the same xack and was only 18 tho if i did give her up it would've been to ss not dumped, i knew i couldn't go thru with it.
she prob is very young altho they're not always

XmasAngelCrimboKat · 07/12/2005 14:04

Well I've washed the kitchen (top to bottom) by hand (including floor and now my back is killing after scuttling around wiping on my knees lol) so now I'm recovering . I'll be round in about 2 hrs to do yours too hun.

slinksanta · 07/12/2005 14:04

i think mothers need more care in the early days after having a baby, especially a first baby, when i had my ds i was in shock, and then depressed, didn't have many friends at the time and only a really shite dp.
i think the women who dump there babies must be very ill, with no support.

XmasAngelCrimboKat · 07/12/2005 14:06

Exactly Mygarland. No mum is in her right mind when they do that and 9 times out of 10, when they're found and reunited with their babies, they've totally regretted what they did and also had severe pnd.
I was soooooooo lucky with ds2. Never even got a sniff of it (I dreaded being pg because of this).

XmasAngelCrimboKat · 07/12/2005 14:07

Hiya Slink hun great to see you.

jinglediddle · 07/12/2005 14:07

xack - great will put the kettle on

mumsXMASwish · 07/12/2005 14:09

I hope they do fix it, but surely she could have taken them in the hosp and left them instead of out in the cold where they may have been missed. Its just not right

FirstSaintNikkilass · 07/12/2005 14:10

Its also a shame that we hear of these babies being left but hardly ever hear the good news that they are ok or found their mother and reunited etc...

mygarland · 07/12/2005 14:11

xack - i think something must be wrong before the birth pre-nd oh and after diddle's r u coming to do my house there'll b t and biscuits in it for u!

XmasAngelCrimboKat · 07/12/2005 14:15

Mums- They're not in their right minds' when they do it. But would be so much better in the warm, even a hospital loo or something.
Mygar- No probs, got choccy cake?

mumsXMASwish · 07/12/2005 14:17

If i learn to make rock cakes will you come do mine, it's only down the rd from mygarland.

XmasAngelCrimboKat · 07/12/2005 14:18

Some parts of the states where young girls get pg, this woman started off a kind of drop off centre. 24 hrs a day it's manned and basically it's a hole in the wall where anyone can pop their baby in anonomously, the baby's grabbed immediately and taken to hospital for checks etc then they try to find the mum and councel her. This woman did this because she kept hearing stories of newborns being dumped and dying and she wanted to help. Great idea imo, keeps the baby's safe but at least the mums know they can go back.

XmasAngelCrimboKat · 07/12/2005 14:19

Think I can stretch myself Mums

jinglediddle · 07/12/2005 14:21

wow xack thats such a good idea.

OP posts:
mumsXMASwish · 07/12/2005 14:25

they should do that over here. It'd stop all the kids being left out in the cold.

I think they should do that for pets too. I always get sad when the RSPCA starts they're guilt trip to get you to give them money.
