Conception

When's the best time to get pregnant? Use our interactive ovulation calculator to work out when you're most fertile and most likely to conceive.

We are all jolly well going to get preggers this month in a nonchalant non-psycho way, and hang onto it, and there will be no brooking of any argument whatsoever!

Welcome across Rat Smackers! Glad you found the place okay. This is THE MONTH when we get those deceitful pee sticks to own up to the BLINDINGLY OBVIOUS - we are all already preggers! After all; positive people get positive pee sticks!

I hope you all like what I've done with our new home

You'll note the updated title, courtesy of farfalla. Various healthy snacks have been set out on the coffee tables, to ensure our bumps are receiving the appropriate nutritional balance

Also, my personal favourite adjustment, you'll note the strategically positioned peephole, right here, providing us with a sneaky preview of the utopian delights awaiting us in the NO BROOKING vomitorium ante-natal thread.

So let's get to it preggos! Remember: see a rat - smack it!

Cunning plans ladies! Welcome cat .
Now then, who was early on their cycle and questioning validity of cravings? You are already pregnant regardless of whether or not you've actually conceived yet so of course you are having cravings! Why else do I keep craving chocolate fudge brownie milkshakes by friij?!
imps I totally get it. I've concluded though that life isn't fair and actually how can we expect anything to be fair when it was never fair to start with? Forgive me, it's been a long day...anyhow, as I said before on this thread, bless 'em, wish them health and happiness you'll feel.better in yourself.
Now I am post-gym (in this heat!) so I'm.shower bound.

dreamfeeder · 02/08/2011 18:08

My cunning plan...same old same old.... kashmiri butter chicken curry in the slow cooker!!! Feed them happy, then pounce! I may even give him a night off though.

imps, it's so frustrating. My friend complains of how fertile she is. 2 children, both conceived first go. In fact she claims she has a child for each incident of unprotected sex she has had in her life Shock Envy.

have, i think i prefer the normal frij chocolate ones to the brownie ones. PLus I once bought one called cookies and cream, stupidly not realising it wouldn't be chocolatey and was very disappointed. And am jealous of your gym-ing.... too long to remember when I last went. (would have to join now obviously)

Oh farfalla, go with generic's plan and conceive your mini-farfalla with make up sex, how perfect!!!!

I'd like to live in a rom com. And if i can't, I wouldn't mind being a Jane Austen heroine for a bit...

dreamfeeder · 02/08/2011 18:09

oh, and excellent cookies cat, pull up a pew.

havealittlefaithbaby · 02/08/2011 18:13

dream I'll drink the normal one but brownie one is my first choice. Don't envy the gym too much I look like a beetroot!
That curry sounds awesome!! I may pounce DH just for fun so he musnt think I'm.purely after his sperm
I'd like to be in a Rom com too. Not a slapstick one like 'just married' a fun one like 'sweet home Alabama'....I also do a mean 'Mr Darcy!' Shock tone voice...

dreamfeeder · 02/08/2011 18:29

have, I look like a beetroot, i've been running round 'like a banshee' talking to myself apparently (according to DD's grandpa, and i thought i might have been talking to him some of the times), as i was trying to get slow cooker on, vacuum, sort and vacuum down vacuum-pack bags and tidy up in DD's one hour nap. Banshee indeed. Was needed!!!!

oooh, mr darcy. i'm not into slapstick particulary, i was def thinking more 10 things i hate about you, or maybe even 27 dresses, or that one where the husband dies but has left her loads of letters (and at end you think she's met someone new?) loads of irish accents....hmm can't remember name.

havealittlefaithbaby · 02/08/2011 18:38

Ps I love you?!

Piglet28 · 02/08/2011 18:44

Hi, I've been lurking for awhile so have finally braved to join you all!

Loving the positive thread! I'm hoping your all going to bring me some luck as I'm obviously upduffed this month! Only got about 4 days until AF due and refusing to test until then! Have had weird cramps and nausea but hey ho could be anything!

dreamfeeder - the film your thinking of is PS I love you... love it!

Good luck

havealittlefaithbaby · 02/08/2011 18:49

Hi piglet congratulations on your as yet unconfirmed pregnancy :) no, no, not 'could be anything'...they are obvious symptoms of being upduffed!

dreamfeeder · 02/08/2011 19:29

have and piglet, you clever ladies, that is exactly the film i was thinking of!

dreamfeeder · 02/08/2011 19:30

oh and piglet, def upduffed, a bfp in the offing s just perfect. Now you've joined this thread there cannot be a doubt about it

Imps7 · 02/08/2011 19:39

Oooooh oooh oooooooh my favourite ever rom com is "While You Were Sleeping" - can I be in that one please??

Hello Piglet and welcome!! None of this "could be anything" though - you are definitely pregnant and that's all there is to it.

GenericDietCola · 02/08/2011 19:54

Welcome piglet - you may be our very next BFP! Congratulations!

dreamfeeder · 02/08/2011 20:16

what generic, how is there not a single rom com you fancy living in?! What about a classic like dirty dancing? I've always liked a bit of that

who else would be before piglet ? i think she will be our next...

havealittlefaithbaby · 02/08/2011 20:36

I love 'While you were sleeping'! One of my fave ever! How about Breakfast at Tiffanys? The sweetest thing?
I think piglet may be next!

GenericDietCola · 02/08/2011 21:53

I've been mulling over the rom com thing all evening and cannot think of one I want to live in - what's wrong with me?

And yes, who's next then? Piglet ? Have you're not far behing are you?

ScreamIfYouWantToGoFaster · 02/08/2011 22:17

Hmmm... I'm not much for rom coms I have to confess. Generally the male "hero" is pretty rude and annoying and by the end of the film you just wish the woman would tell him where to go! Can I open this up to other kinds of movies? I'm kind of in a disney movie mood, with sassy smart-talking cute animals! Or maybe something slick, like the Matrix? Mostly I just want a happy ending!

OP posts:
dreamfeeder · 02/08/2011 22:21

oh, happy ending! I can't stand films without a happy ending. It's true though. there are several I'd like to live in for a bit, but prob none forever. Much as i like p.s. i love you, i would NEVER want a much loved husband to die etc etc.... I like my life. To make it perfect I just need to be a SAHM (but with career def not over as it could well be if i quit work now- you knwo- the best of both worlds option for real) and to get my BFP of course!!! oh, and for DH to agree three would be lovely Grin

dreamfeeder · 02/08/2011 22:22

oh, and to have a blissful, idealic relationship with DH ALL the time too

GenericDietCola · 02/08/2011 22:32

If I was going to live in a rom com it would be one where the woman is a career girl, too busy to 'find love', a bit frumpy, but ends up having a great makeover (I love a makeover in a movie) and meeting her ideal man (who would be played by Max Beesley) in a book shop or something, showing that they share interests... I'd be a crap writer.

havealittlefaithbaby · 02/08/2011 22:41

I think I'd chose When Harry met Sally...harry is hilarious and I am quite particular like Sally! never faked an orgasm though
Boobs are massive and sore. Am.also very grumpy despite regular magnesium which usually helps.

GenericDietCola · 02/08/2011 22:45

Ooh Have great signs for you - and both you and DH agreed that this was The Month so it definitely will be. Not long until you confirm now!

havealittlefaithbaby · 03/08/2011 06:59

Thanks for the enthusiasm generic! Also having crazy dreams...
Ah well time to get up and look after the new terrified doctors at work :)

Imps7 · 03/08/2011 07:04

Ooooh Have that rat sounds well and truly squished!!!! When's testing day?

havealittlefaithbaby · 03/08/2011 07:26

7 days to go! not at all cynical in real life about pack of swi this month Hmm

farfallarocks · 03/08/2011 08:39

have keeping all crossed for you.

DREAM that sounds amazing, the curry I mean, can we have the recipe please?

Welcome to piglet

Well SWI did not happen last night. DH is a total grump as he had an awful day at work. He has a job that can be extremely stressful at times and it consumes him entirely. When it goes wrong he just wants to be alone and drink like a fish. Likely the situation will get worse as the week goes on. So I left him alone. Think I might have the write off the month unless this thread really can work miracles and produce an immaculate conception. I am catholic after all.
Shag Dictator still on high not peak so at least there is hope that the peak comes over the weekend!

Sometimes I wish he would just leave and find something less stressful to do.

What is everyone up to this weekend?
