Welcome across Rat Smackers! Glad you found the place okay. This is THE MONTH when we get those deceitful pee sticks to own up to the BLINDINGLY OBVIOUS - we are all already preggers! After all; positive people get positive pee sticks!

I hope you all like what I've done with our new home

You'll note the updated title, courtesy of farfalla. Various healthy snacks have been set out on the coffee tables, to ensure our bumps are receiving the appropriate nutritional balance

Also, my personal favourite adjustment, you'll note the strategically positioned peephole, right here, providing us with a sneaky preview of the utopian delights awaiting us in the NO BROOKING vomitorium ante-natal thread.

So let's get to it preggos! Remember: see a rat - smack it!

I twinge a lot when my eggs burst forth - it was particularly crampy this last time. Sounds good Generic - get to it!!

Right, well I am about to leave for a long weekend away, returning Tues. I will not have the benefit of any access to t'interweb while I'm gone so I shall miss all the exciting BFP news over the weekend. Make sure you keep smacking those rats and brooking no a single hint of an argument and I shall see you next week!

GenericDietCola · 29/07/2011 14:44

Thanks all - will make a special effort this weekend.

Imps have a lovely weekend away and we will look forward to your BFP news on Tuesday!

BabySade · 29/07/2011 15:13

Right now the pain of AF is diminishing I'm starting to put my rat smacking plans together. DH has suggested a rat smacking routine of every other day from day 5 the day 25

Generic no uti can be allowed to stop your rat smacking, the pain will be worth it it better be

Maybe sorry no answer yet, I know how frustrating it is. Tell AF if she is coming to get here quick so you will be on day 1 of your BFP month am still keeping all fingers crossed for you

Have a lovely weekend Imps I also can't wait for the imminent BFPs

Sorry if I've missed anything am having problems with my mumsnet app & I'm having to do this on the Internet which is so much harder

muchostinky · 29/07/2011 15:30

Hi everyone - hope you don't mind if I join you? Been lurking for a few days and have finally plucked up the courage to post. I am at 8 dpo, so am sitting on my hands re any kind of early testing.

Very excited for you all who may be testing this weekend though - my fingers are crossed for a whole load of BFP's!

maybebabyR · 29/07/2011 15:31

Thanks Baby I have had words, though they were a tad sterner than what you proposed Grin Your DH is keen!

Have a lovely weekend Imps I too look forward to your BFP Smile

GenericDietCola · 29/07/2011 16:22

Baby bravo at the enthusiasm this month even if it is a bit of a chore really

Welcome mucho and congratulations on your pregnancy! You look positively blooming!

maybebabyR · 29/07/2011 16:48

Ooh, Mucho I didn't see you there, pull up a pew and pick up a ramekin Grin

muchostinky · 29/07/2011 17:25

Thanks generic but I think that that might be a fib! Grin. I have been sitting here all day in my dressing gown catching up on the end of Lie To Me - really need a shower, but seriously can't be bothered. Lucky my DP isnt on call to get busy coz I think he wouldn't touch me with a barge pole!

I apologise if this is far TMI, but I have really bad wind - wonder if that's a symptom?! Blush

farfallarocks · 29/07/2011 18:19

muchostinky - what an appropriate name!
Welcome everyone!

I had some lovely reflexology yesterday, so relaxing, she said everything seems to be in order so relieved my chakras are cleansed.
I also went to my lovely GP who has agreed to give me some blood tests to check hormone levels evern though we have not been trying for more than 12 months. She was hilarious, I had printed off a list of test (from here I think!) and she just ticked them all off on her order form.
Was not expecting that and had my whole spiel prepared. So big whoop for the NHS here. I think she could tell I was BROOKING NO ARGUMENT at all.

ViolaTricolor · 29/07/2011 18:24

Hello all,

I could have started my own thread for this, but I still feel a bit freaked out by the idea that I might be starting TTC, so was hoping you might accommodate me here. I was wondering, is it really necessary to go to the docs to announce that you're TRYING? I feel a bit Blush about that and really just want to chuck out the pills and see what happens. But what about checking that your rubella's updated etc? I realise loads of people have babies they weren't planning for, but did any of you go for a check up before starting? I have a dubious gynae history but there's no reason to think I have any new problems.

maybebabyR · 29/07/2011 19:00

Hi Viola Of course we can accommodate you! I didn't go to the GP to tell them I was trying, though I did mention it to the nurse when I went for a routine check up. They didn't ask me anything, or check stuff though (I secretly hoped they would be congratulating me Smile )

ViolaTricolor · 29/07/2011 19:07

Thanks maybebabyR Smile. I suddenly wondered if I was being a bit lax just slinging the pills and thinking about it all the time seeing what happens.

thelittlefriend · 29/07/2011 19:13

Welcome Viola & Mucho!

Have a great weekend away Imps

Generic I think i'm getting ovulation twinges too - we might get our bfp's on the same day!

maybebabyR · 29/07/2011 19:28

Wohoo Little

Viola the only thing I would start doing now is taking some conception vitamins, anything with folic acid. Other than that jump on seduce DH at will Grin

dreamfeeder · 29/07/2011 19:44

Thank god you wrote that maybe, I KEEP forgetting to take that ttc vitamin do-dah thingy.... and now its out the packet and by my plate ready for when my dinner is Smile

And seeing as this month is THE month, best not forget.

generic and little, cycle buddies, I don't think I've got any twinges, but I don't think I've ever had any. Futility Fiend (I mean consulting her blurb, not charting) still doesn't make me think it's today either, no egg white CM. However, this will not put me off leaping on and demanding servicing by seducing DH, to wihch end a lovely hot Thai curry is in the slow curry rigt=ht now. Anyway, it's be too much to have all 3 of our BFP's on the same day, agreed? Grin

How about a little poem for rat-smacking victory? Badly adapted from the old wedding one by moi...

Today's the day, tonight's the night,
We've caught the stork,
So that's allright!!!!

see a rat? smack it!

GenericDietCola · 29/07/2011 19:56
maybebabyR · 29/07/2011 19:57

Oh Dream, that's beautiful

Very jealous of your curry Envy

From my constant googling, not everyone gets the old egg white stuff, so er, you know, go forth and populate Grin

dreamfeeder · 29/07/2011 20:30

Oh, I won't let a little thing like not thinking i'm ovulating put me off!

DH is very wise though. He returned home just in time to leap in the bath with DD and wind her up and make her very overexcited so I couldn't get her to sleep and do some 'bonding', scoffed loads of curry and then refused a third helping saying he'd be too full to DTD. I am clearly transparently obvious as no dinner has been ready for nights and nights let alone his favourite

And the romance of the evening is really taking off from there. I'm sat on MN and he's out getting the washing in... swi must be imminent Wink

And actually, Im pretty excited about generic, little and my BFP's on the same day, I think this thread could take it Grin

And maybe, I had bleeding at 5 weeks with DD (exactly the same initially- though stopped and didn't get heavier- as when I had a mc at 5 weeks before DD). And obviously it wasn't a mc but I was convinced it was and was gutted until a few days later when still tested positive (massive relief). So no worries about your pink cm, you will continue to bloom in your pregnancy Grin. Crossing all fingers, toes and legs --for a bit at least until leaping-on time- fro your imminent BFP

maybebabyR · 29/07/2011 20:52

Grin at your transparency Dream Even if I dropped a million hints, I don't think DH would see through my plan!

Thanks for the positivity. I have decided that if I am not preggers this month, then my body is broken showing AF who is really boss!

havealittlefaithbaby · 29/07/2011 22:36

I'm on a work night out throwing caution to wind during 2ww am quite tipsy and would like to say I best be upduffed. I've had enough of waiting! I want a baby! No arguments brooked!
Hi to the newbie whose name escape these pages of the thread me.

Biscuitsandtea · 30/07/2011 08:50

Morning Preggos.

I can only assume that no one is posting yet today because you are all too busy doing happy dances after getting your BFPs confirmed? xx

dreamfeeder · 30/07/2011 09:51

Morning biscuits and fellow rat smackers,

I shall be announcing my BFP simultaneously with little and generic but tis not time yet- barely ovulating over here. That of course does not mean it is not totally guaranteed.

However, where's maybe? Hoping to hear of hers....

havealittlefaithbaby · 30/07/2011 09:55

I'm suffering from a hangover morning sickness! Travelling to see my granny for the day with dsis and dnephew :)

Biscuitsandtea · 30/07/2011 10:07

Oh Have hope that morning sickness wears off quickly so as not to spoil your day :)

Good question Dream Where is Maybe

TinFairy · 30/07/2011 11:41

So, what have I missed, ratsmackers, while RL has been rudely interfering with my precious MN time?

Well, I can categorically state that the cryptic cheapier internet tests were, quite literally, taking the piss as I am currently entertaining AF. I thought I would be really disappointed but I'm actually quite reassured to know that things are working as they should down there as I haven't has a natural, non-chemically interfered with period since...since....well, it's quite some time...I think £ notes may still have been in circulation. And, rather excitingly, I have now put the shag dictator CBFM into action and can continue my new hobby of peeing on a stick daily with the CB ov sticks Smile

So, best of luck to those who are confirming this weekend. Show those pee stick who's boss....Brook. No. Argument!

And equal measures of good luck to those commencing anew at SWI. Go forth and smack that rat like it's never been smacked before.
