Let's make some May babies

The end of July is drawing near; SWI with DP hasn't been as frequent as hoped; and I've decided to err on the side of caution.

So. Here's a thread for anyone else hoping to make a beautiful May 2012 baby.

I am 27 and TTC #1. Been on pill for an age so unsure of cycles. Only been trying for a couple of weeks - the more I type the more I note my wild optimism!!

Anyone else who knows more about this business than I do? Please come and give me some hope that a May baby might be at all possible :)

Hello ladies! Apologies for alphabetising the list, I didnt realise it was in order by due date for POAS. I can't help it, I'm a born organizer! Anyway just popping in to say hello.

I've stopped drinking and smoking and it has been very frustrating over the past few days here in London, with all the craziness I have really craved a cigarette. I've been good though. The 20th seems so far away! If I get a BFN I will commemorate it with a fag and a glass of wine, and then get back to being good.

Rusulka, can't beleive how much I am looking forward to other people's pg tests! Must be living vicariously here! Good luck for tomorrow, not that I think you will need it!!!!!

Sorry to hear that threecurrantbuns. Don't give up hope until AF actually arrives though. If it does, make the most of the rest of your holiday and come back ready for more SWI.

Hi Tibby. This was our first month ttc, as I had a mc at the end of June. We got a BFP the first month of ttc with the baby we lost :( I doubt I'll get a BFP this month, as we stopped SWI about 3 days before I ovulated. I am going to get my hormone levels checked with my GP, and DH wanted to wait to ttc till after that.

reminder from bounty came up as email reminding me i would of been 20 weeks right now!!!!! so was feeling low but looking forwards to my BFP!!!!

Officially 24 hours late!
Not unusual for me though. 2 days+ however....

POAS this morning, but inconclusive. I could see the flimsy pathetic wispy line, (FPWP!) but DH couldn't. Think he's a bit put out as he wants to get excited, but needs repeat proof. It doesn't help that the control line on the tests is so dark red- I think he's expecting a matching line! (men...)
I lectured him on hCG levels doubling every 48 hours, so there wouldn't be a vast difference between yesterday and today, so hopefully that'll calm him for now. Going to batten down the hatches and camp out cautiously and see whether AF shows up late...or not.

I am now not going to test until the weekend. If I am PG, it'll give the hCG 2.5 more times to double, and maybe the line will be less pathetic. I'm not backing up with digital 'til then.
I don't know how I'm going to stop myself doing it! I'll have to eat all the brownies my sister made me. Parents gone now so can talk to my tummy all day- makes a change from talking to the sofa and the plants.

Right now my stomach is periodically doing a combo of muscle spasm flickering and blowing bubbles through a straw- weird.

Rusulka You know a line's a line, right? I understand though how a strong line makes it seem real! (Still whooping a little inside for you though, I can't help it!)

So, I am 6dpo or thereabouts, and feeling really out of sorts crampy in my lower belly and fanjo - weird.... and bloated, and still weeing loads! No point testing til at least Sunday though, and sure I'm doing a sterling job of psycho symptom creation!

festie, I had cramps days 17-19 and tested on days 18,20,22,23,25,26,28 & 29- but didn't get anything potentially exciting until the last 2 days.

And a line is only a line if DH can see it too. (hence back up with digital to spell it out for him!

Have been trying to work out a possible conception date- assuming implantation occurred as above, that means it must have been about a week before that- so somewhere in the sex marathon of days 10-14.
I used ovulation sticks 15 & 16 but wasn't. Presumably I missed the boat with those, and ovulated before. Exciting!

We've been taking pregnacare and wellman conception since day 16 and now really glad we have- from what I can gather, by the time you're declared officially pregnant and told to take folic acid, the neural tube is or has already formed, so it's dodgy timing- ladies if you're not taking something already, I'd crack on with it asap. You do both get lovely yellow wee as an added bonus. :)

Just updated my AF....realised I'm away with work that week so at least I won't test until I'm back home on the Thursday regardless. Could I be like my mum who with both my sister (now aged 14) and I that pregnancy tests didn't work until nearly 20 weeks!!! Let's hope not. She tested negative and eventually went to the doctors. 30 years ago you could blame poor pt's but in the last 14 years they've not changed that much!

Hello wondered if I can hop on the bus?

I have spent all afternoon reading the posts on here and I think I am up to speed with the terms used but forgive me if I get them muddled up!

Me and my DH have decided the time is right to TTC #1. I was going to wait until December when I am 30 but by the sounds of it might not happen straight away although that what has happened to all my friends!!

I have come off the pill after being on it for 14 years so guessing will take ages for it to come out my system?? I last had a visit from AF last Saturday but have zero clue when I will get a real visit from her.

No apologies necessary missus; you're not being dim! It's all exceptionally cryptic! DPO - Days Past Ovulation.... Fanjo - um... va-geegee? love tunnel? black hole of Calcutta? (in my case: ttc#4!!!! )

Hi all and welcome imisswhitewine! i would use your last AF as a starting point, what else can you do,it may just work for you( what have you got to lose)
Rusulka- thats sounds like a + to me no matter how faint! i would take that a do a Im preggy dance( hands on the belly, swinging hips softly from left to right) i remember using first a cheap £1 shop brand and the line was so dark, i then got my fave a clearblue Dit just to confirm whilst me and DH was in shock!
Festiemum- it was a shock,i cant believe the time has passed so quickly!
Dh cuz came first time since the riot madness she expecting no4. in 3 weeks and we are hoping for a boy( 3xdd)!!!!!!!! her belly is massive!!!!
well i have woken up with low pains and when i calculated i am ov-ing today and tomo!!!!! does anyone else feel slight pains!!!!!!!!!! my BF feels a "POP" when her eggs drops!(also preggy now- 5weeks to go)

Festimum! Hello again. Yep, I usually get oving symptoms...slight pain/twinges, often one side and light spotting (pink discharge). My GUM doctor says that = ovulation. Let's hope so!

Hi Tibby. DD1 we conceived without really trying. We were moving house, and had - ahem - discontinued protection (!) as we knew we wanted children soon, but ideally after the move. I suppose we had been SWP (sh*gging without protection!) for a few months, but weren't going at it hammer and tongs because of being tired and stressed with the move from hell (prob once a week if we were lucky!!!). I got a BFP 1 week after the move, having felt terribly sick and ill on moving day (we were doing it all ourselves). TBH, I didn't think we'd even DTD that month - I must have been so tired it passed me by!

With DD2, we had been SWP for about four months, but for three of those months had employed a rather random and infrequent plan of attack. I got a BFP the first month we really tried to SWI every other day mid cycle!

With my third pg (the one I mc) we got a BFP the first month of trying...

rusulka I'm totally living vicariously through you now and waiting with baited breath for an update. sounds possibly though!! It will be so exciting if you get a BFP you'll be a good luck chart!

I'm only on CD2 so just tapping my foot waiting and waiting until we can try this month. The 2ww for ovulation :o
