The end of July is drawing near; SWI with DP hasn't been as frequent as hoped; and I've decided to err on the side of caution.

So. Here's a thread for anyone else hoping to make a beautiful May 2012 baby.

I am 27 and TTC #1. Been on pill for an age so unsure of cycles. Only been trying for a couple of weeks - the more I type the more I note my wild optimism!!

Anyone else who knows more about this business than I do? Please come and give me some hope that a May baby might be at all possible :)

Sorry spatelaxe its horrible.
Whinge away mildertduck thats what we are here for

Rusulka · 09/08/2011 06:38

Well, the day of AF has finally rolled around. awake at 5:30 and obsessing about the little sticks in the drawer, so came down and did one... and... I think I saw something...:o I mean, I think I've seen something before, but this time it was um... line shaped... but so faint I probably made it up! I want to hope but daren't in case I jinx it.

Anyone else bought those tiddly little sticks in a pack of 25 or so from Amazon? The reviews were half awesome, half awful, so I took a risk. I never know if they're giving me an accurate result though.

Crunch time ladies. Still had CM this morning, which is unusual for AF time as it usually goes completely and that's how I know it's on its way... Unless it's left over from my cough medicine! Confused

I'm never more than a day or so late with these so before the end of this week I will definitely know one way or the other. Exciting thought.

Although I did have my usual pre-menstrual mopsy (as my father-in-law calls it) where I spent a good hour and a half in DH's lap the other night crying my eyes out about how the cat didn't love me any more (not even our cat). Can anyone beat that? Lol.

puzzletree · 09/08/2011 07:59

Rusulka sounds suspiciusly like a BFP to me! I used those sticks to watch my BFP disappear after the miscarriage, they seem reliable enough to me, a line is a line after all. Do another first thing tomorrow :)

Sorry to those that have been trying for ages, really hope that this is your month, it must be tough hopping from bus to bus.

I'm starting with the ovulation sticks today I think (cheapos from amazon), never used them before so not sure what to expect. Afternoon's the best time to test right? Something to while away the days with. Will be off to a festival at the end of the week when I expect to be fertile though so probably won't bother there in the portaloos :)

Hope no-one has been affected by the riots (other than staring in horror at the news on the tv). Just horrible :(

orangehead · 09/08/2011 09:17

oh fx Rusulka, keep us posted

Harryan · 09/08/2011 09:56

Oh my rusulka! It does sound a wee bit like a BFP!!

I am so excited for you! Grin

I have actually woken feeling sick...Again!! Even to the point that I almost threw up in my Sugar puffs at one point!!

Don't wanna tempt fate....

But I can't even test or find out til at least the end of next week!! Confused

Catsycat · 09/08/2011 09:57

Sending lots of good wishes your way Rusulka (but, as discussed NO baby dust)!!!

Hi, and good luck to those new to this thread - hope it is a good month for you all.

Joining puzzletree in horror at the riots. Hope everyone is OK.

Quenelle · 09/08/2011 11:19

Hi all.

Welcome to the bus stop spatelaxe and signet2012

Well it looks like I'm going to have a cycle like last month's; day after AF leaves my boobs start to hurt, what's that all about? By the time AF came around last month I was fit to burst with PMT. I have cycles like this occasionally but two in a row is a bummer. Is it all downhill to the menopause now? I am an Old Gimmer...

Anyway, we got on with Operation KUMQUAT on Sunday night, and we'll be at it again tonight. DH is hilarious, one day after we've had sex he's peering at me intently and asking if there's 'any oozing'? For some reason he thinks oozing is a pg symptom Confused

Rusulka, your test sounds promising. I hope there's something more convincing when you test tomorrow morning. I've only ever used a CBD so can't advise on the Amazon sticks.

Happy hols and happy shagging to notnow and threecurrantbuns.

HeidiHole · 09/08/2011 13:25

Yay AF finally arrived! 5 weeks after implant removed. Never been so glad to see the old bitch witch! Can finally get stuck in... or get my husband stuck in

So I've no idea how long my cycle will be so will just say its a month and guess AF due 9th September (my 25th birthday!) which would be a due date of May 16th so I'm still on this bus :D

I noticed that the list of members used to be organised by AF due date which seems MUCH more sensible than alphabetically, no?

So I've put it back to ordered by due date as it's easier to see who is coming up next for POAS

Hope you don't mind me sneaking my double chin on here. Quenelle, thought you might like to know that Jo Brand had her first at 41 and her second at 43. Sam Taylor Wood is also pregnant with her 4th (I think, certainly her second with her new husband) at 44. :-) xx

Quenelle · 09/08/2011 13:45

Hi Horsey, thanks for the vote of confidence. I've just been out for a lunchtime run so feel more like 52 at the moment.

Off now to google 'hurty boobs on cd7.

MammaInTheMaking · 09/08/2011 14:39

Still no AF for me. 5 days late and a BFN 2 days ago. Have ordered some cheapo internet tests so might have another go at the weekend.
Just don't understand what's going on with my "regular" cycle.

NEED ANSWERS!!!

Catsycat · 09/08/2011 14:44

Bloody hell Quenelle - a lunchtime run??? You are definitely Wonder Woman in my book Grin

Just been for - ahem! - a brisk walk round the shops (best I could do, sorry), and noted Superdrug have ov tests on 2 for 1 - just the own brand boxes of 5 which are usually £15.99 per box. I got a couple of boxes - I do think they are rather pricey compared to the Home Bargains / internet cheapies, but I have NEVER got a + on those, so thought I'd have a go with these next month!

Quenelle · 09/08/2011 14:54

Poor you Mamma. I hope you get BFP or AF soon. It's horrible being kept in limbo isn't it?

Not so much Wonder Woman as Knackered Old Woman Catsy. I only run at lunchtime because I refuse to get up early and do it. There is a shower in my office building but it only has cold water so it's a bit of a boot camp experience, but still better than getting up at 5am.

Helloooo! So, I am driving myself potty symptom spotting. On 5dpo approx (not temp charting or opk-ing, but watching other signs, and fanny batter completely dried up 5 days ago after a couple of good days of ewcm.....

Anyway, last couple of days I've been weeing soooo much, and I'm not drinking any more... Last night, had to get up in the night, which is very unusual for me, and then lay there with heartburn and nausea. Now today, I have wee-ed all day and had slight crampyness, and nausea.... Hmm, so good at convincing myself. Got some of those Superdrug tests that are supposed to be good, so should be able to test on Sunday (10 dpo).... Probably drive myself mad in the meantime!!!!

Tibbycat · 09/08/2011 19:51

Hello all!

Just wanted to share a crapy trip to the doctors today. I went about something totally unrelated to ttc (anxiety) but whilst there, mentioned we were ttc. She abruptly said to me I needed to be a healthy weight to reduce risk of 'many serous complications' (I'm a size 16 and bmi 33). Then went on to say stop smoking (I've never smoked anyway), stop drinking (I drink less than 10 units a week and have totally stopped anyway), eat a balanced diet (I do thank you). Just thought how rude!!! Also, as I went as I'm suffering with anxiety, why worry me more??? What's wrong with people?! Oh and to top it off, she smiled as she said it all in a smirky way Angry!

Friday is ovulation day so 'practicing' in anticipation!!

P.s. Can anyone fill me in on any of the abbreviations? I'm lost!!!

Xxxx

Tibbycat · 09/08/2011 19:53

Ooo, festimum! Are these out of the ordinary for you? The symptoms?

Quenelle · 09/08/2011 19:54

Hi LadyGrace. This site is great isn't it? Imagine introducing yourself in RL and in the next breath telling them you're having loads of sex at the moment Grin.

Festie, waking up with heartburn was a definite very early symptom for me last time.

HeidiHole · 09/08/2011 20:42

Welcome LadyGrace and good luck :)

festiemum · 09/08/2011 21:13

Tibbycat, some people in medicine have such a bad bedside manner they shouldn't be allowed to practise. Angry I'm sorry that happened to you! Did she actually do anything to help the anxiety?! I take Prozac for mine; it really helps! :)

These symptoms are out of the blue unusual, but I'm brilliant at convincing myself of all sorts at the best of times! Will just have to wait and see!!!

Catsycat · 09/08/2011 21:24

Oooh Festie that sounds really promising!!!! Now I'm looking forward to sunday on your behalf!

Tibby, the proper term for your GP is "bitch". I totally hate people thinking just because you don't have the so-called ideal BMI you are unhealthy in your habits. Totally out of order. My GP has never mentioned my weight (size 18 and BMI 37) unless I specifically asked him to address it, even when discussing pregnancy and sleep apnoea - the ideal opportunity. Even when I saw the consultant about my sleep apnoea, he was really tactful about my weight and did not make assumptions about my lifestyle! I had my two DDs at a BMI of 34 and 35, and I had no problems either conceiving or during pregnancy. I don't seem to go into labour, but there is no indication this is weight related. One gynae (a very unpopular one, and quite rotund himself actually!!) did tell me that my "internal fat" might have blocked my cervix. However, the VBAC midwife at the same hospital made a complaint when I mentioned this to her, and various other midwives have laughed hysterically and said this was rubbish (but very funny). Some people just can't help themselves. I hope your anxiety improves soon - a close friend has suffered with this for years, so I'm aware how debilitating it can be.

By the way, I have just started a major diet, and would be very happy if I could get down to a size 16!

Minshu · 09/08/2011 22:34

Not that I'm being pedantic, you understand, but as we are having stats in testing order, I'm moving myself to the correct position Wink I still have AF with me, so definitely not due for a while yet...

Good luck to all of you on the 2ww - I know how grim it is.

Fingers crossed Rusulka, it's sounding promising.

And lots of trips to the loo, Festiemum - that's how I "diagnosed" a friend's pregnancy last year after having that symptom with DD.

Rusulka · 09/08/2011 23:00

Thanks for all the support ladies!
No AF today so far... :)

Will test again first thing tomorrow as DH wants to see a fresh one (he only saw today's one in the bin an hour or so later, but he saw something there too!)
Hopefully will be able to do so without my parents becoming suspicious...

If this works, ladies, I'll have done it with a current weight of 16st 9lb, BMI 41.3- my wii mii looks so upset every time it does the body test (oh man! where did this come from?)

I do need to get myself down to a healthier weight- my dad has just had a liver transplant, and they said it was his weight that made his liver fail (24st) so now he's nagging my arse off as he weighs a good 2 stone less than me and it must be so marvellous up on his soap box...

I am trying, I'm just crap at it. Hopefully this emotional overeater will be able to stop it if someone else is relying on my food intake.

Fingers crossed for tomorrow, we shall have to see!

Thinking good (BD-free) thoughts for everyone here...
