Well its about time you had a new thread.
I wanted to wish you all the best of luck with your trying to conceive and say that it might take weeks months or years, but you won't find a better group for support.
We have all been through the same experinces and talking to someone who has felt the same makes a world of difference.
You will all get your BFP's soon and in the meantime, lets try and keep as calm and de-stressed as possible.

sorry about your m/c firstnikki

carly i thought you were around 50???? only joking i've no idea but i think you are classed as mature student at 25

Atomicstockinghanger · 01/12/2005 14:17

Hi there Firstnikki!! Glad you came over here! So pleased things are getting easier, but make sure you give yourself time to heal. Don't be in any rush. We are all here to help you through this. we have all lost babies at different stages and know what you are going through. You are allowed to shout at us, rant, scream, cry, but we hope you manage to have a giggle too, coz we do tend to get a bit silly - laughter is the best medicine after all

xxxxxxxxxx

mygarland · 01/12/2005 14:21

mature students are 25 or older
seriously carly i love maths and i was supposed to be training as a teacher this oct (secondary school science) i'd love to practice on u! diff teachers have diff styles of teaching and diff students learn best in all diff ways so sum1 else explaining it might mean u get it second time around instead of having to go over something many times, x
and nikki we're all sorry for your loss, it's a tough decision to ttc but i'm sure you'll find support here with us, x

firstnikki · 01/12/2005 14:21

Thanks Carly,.... well question on my mind what is the general rule about trying again, hospital last week advised can try straight after next AF (look at me!) and some other people I have spoken to say a few months??

Atomicstockinghanger · 01/12/2005 14:21

Carly - you don't need any qualifications to start the Access course. It is designed for mature students (BTW "mature student" is a very lose term! I might be coming up 31 but I am far from mature!!) who don't have ny formal qulifications but want to go into further eduation. You will cover maths as part of the course. Dont bother with Learn Direst, go direct to your local Tech College.
And get you!! You young youthful minx! 23 !!

Atomicstockinghanger · 01/12/2005 14:23

Nikki - I think the general concensus is wait til you have had 1 AF. that way you will be sure of your dates if you do fall PG. Also you will know you are in full working order so to speak. Bu tit is up to you. Some women don't wait, others wait a few months. Its up to how you feel

carlychristmas · 01/12/2005 14:26

slinksanta 50???? although tbh i feel it sometimes! so with me being a nubile (dont know if that word is rude but it sounds sooo good!)23 year old does that mean i dont actually qualify as a mature student (she says with hope!) and ASH i agree with you i dont think ill ever be classed as mature, or sane, or normal........
firstnikki i think physically you can try as soon as your af arrives, but emotionally doctors advise three to six months. I know personally i didnt want to wait, and decided to try straight away again, and am currentley on cd18

Atomicstockinghanger · 01/12/2005 14:29

Carly - just seen your post on HRHQoQ thread. had no idea (obviously) but glad you got over it!! Must be horrible

firstnikki · 01/12/2005 14:30

what does cd18 mean?

Atomicstockinghanger · 01/12/2005 14:30

So guys am I the oldest at 30? All you young'uns braggin about your ages - tut

Atomicstockinghanger · 01/12/2005 14:31

Nikki - Cycle Day 18, with CD1 being the first day og your period

firstnikki · 01/12/2005 14:31

depends when you were 30 will be 31 in March

carlychristmas · 01/12/2005 14:32

ASH such a horrible thing but thankfully im almost fully recovered so to speak (i dont think your ever 100%) i really feel for her though five years is such a long time

Atomicstockinghanger · 01/12/2005 14:32

Grrr! Nope, I'm older than you! Will be 31 in January

Atomicstockinghanger · 01/12/2005 14:34

Carly, poor you and poor porr HRHQoQ

slinksanta · 01/12/2005 14:35

i think you can be classed as a mature student from 21 in some places, i think you should talk to your college and see
i understand about the maths thing as i am awful at maths myself and probably wouldn't pass gcse now if i did it lol

mygarland · 01/12/2005 14:43

about the mature student thing i think a lot depends on cicumstance, when i went to uni if you had provided for yourself for last 3 years, lived with dh and kids it made a difference

nikki about the tryng, the docs like u to wait 1 af for dating but physically and mentally it's when u feel ready and no-one can tell you that, honey. how do u feel about it?

firstnikki · 01/12/2005 14:57

well, its early to tell the first few days I was thinking how can I, DH asked if I wanted to try again just worried in case happens again. I so would like a baby and today there is no question I want to try soonest...body clock ticking. Found out two of my aunties had m/c with first child one couldn't carry a boy.

Mature student ---- does depend on college and what your life experiences are so call the college I would say and take the quickest and easiest route in order to reach your goal

Atomicstockinghanger · 01/12/2005 14:58

Just off to school to get boys, back in a mo. xx

carlychristmas · 01/12/2005 15:01

but mature student makes me sound sooooo old boo hoo
firstnikki forgive me if you already said but when did you have your m/c? have you had af yet?

firstnikki · 01/12/2005 15:05

mature student does sound like you should have a pension book sometimes take it as a compliment x
