S2ww imaginary symptom spotting, who's in?

So, according to my phone's shag dictator app I'm nice and fertile, so OH and I did plenty of SWI this weekend. And true to form, already I'm symptom spotting.

now i know you sensible ladies out there will tell me it's far too early, but I say bah to modern science and clearly I'm already pregnant as my symptoms are totally conclusive...

  1. Could only just finish my one glass of wine this evening Wine
  1. Turned down several alcoholic drinks earlier today, clearly mini bean telling me to be sensible from the womb!
  1. Super strong sense of smell, I could tell you exactly what each of my neighbours had for dinner tonight
  1. Unreasonably tired
  1. Quite teary, almost cried on the tube when my soduko got a bit tricky
  1. Had the sudden urge to clean my flat, clearly early nesting.

now who else will join me in some unreasonably early 2ww imaginary symptom spotting?! Hmm

Sorry, I can't remember, Purple- is this your first month off the pill? I seem to remember it is. If so, I guess it'll be difficult to calculate exactly when AF is due. Frustrating.

Yes, and I've had a few cramps and some very light spotting/faintly coloured discharge but no evidence of AF. I might go clearblue tomorrow, do you think it's worth it?

KikiRC · 02/07/2011 21:44

Well, I'm in the same position but a week behind- although AF should seemingly be due around next Fri/ Sat.

I've heard and read accounts of AF being weeks (or sometimes even months) late in the first cycle. So testing repeatedly may be not be all that accurate anyway. I think I'll test when I estimate AF's due next week, and maybe every 4-5 days after that maybe if it still hasn't showed up? Depending on symptoms etc. But then I don't feel overly confident I BD at exactly the right times this month anyway, so I'm not really expecting a BPF this time around.

I guess if the spotting is an implantation bleed then you should get a BFP in about a week, or if it's early signs of AF then that'll be along in the next couple of days?

I simply don't have a clue.

Last Thursday was the 28th day since last AF so today is day 30.

I had a few cramps on Thursday and Friday. Normally coffee makes them worse, but it's not had that effect.

I started spotting Friday morning but instead of normal spotting it's jsut been faintly coloured CM (thank you for the technical term!)

I've been stressed out by things I hope I would normally cope with fairly rationally. It's felt like everyone's getting at me. I've never had that as a symptom of AF before. I'm normally hormonally calm (according to my Mum and carious DP's) with cramps and backache.

We've been using the withdrawal method apart from one occasion right at the beginning.

Am I over thinking things? Was I imagining the line because I'm broody and my eyes were tired? I have no idea what's going on, and DP knows about as much as i do!

KikiRC · 02/07/2011 22:17

If your last AF was your 'withdrawal bleed' (i.e. the last bleed having come off the pill) then it's not technically a proper period. Your next AF (if/ when it comes) will be classed as that. But it's not unusual when you come off the pill for your cycles to be all over the place and take a while to settle down- making it very hard to predict all your dates.

If you were charting signs of ovulation and think you know if/when that happened this month, then your AF would be expected about 14 days after that, but again it's different for everyone.

You may not necessarily ovulate this month, or it may be earlier/ later than you would have expected. If it's later than you thought then your current spotting may be an implantation bleed, but I think it's also normal to have spotting/ breakthrough bleeding throughout the cycle too while everything readjusts.

I'm trying not to be disappointed next week, so I'm attributing my symptoms to pill withdrawal rather then PG, although when I came off the pill before (about 3 and a half years ago, I don't remember experiencing any symptoms at all, other headaches. But it was a different pill, and I'm a few years older, so who knows. Terribly frustrating, eh? Hope you know one way or another soon.

You'll all have toddlers by the time I'm back here in conception! This month was a one off, I'm afraid

I don't suppose anyone is still following this thread, but I got a BFP today. Can't quite believe it. If I guessed O right, I'm 20DPO. Tested negative two days ago, and the line is still quite faint...

Pipbin · 13/07/2011 18:16

Hurrah KiriRc. Wine

Love this thread..... I pretty much start symptom spotting the day after ov, which is obviously just silly. I am 7 dpo now, have been feeling sick for a few days, have had some crampy twingy things going on, I've been falling asleep on the sofa before 9 completely unheard of usually, and this morning I trapped my head in the car door... Defo baby brain!!! I have dine some research on how early you can realistically experience pregnancy symptoms, and it seems that the more pregnancies you've had, the earlier you experience the symptoms.... Fingers crossed then...
