Well I fell off another bus and rather than wait around for the next one I thought I would get another going myself. So have stocked it up with cake, Wine - for the first 2 weeks and Brew - for the 2ww'ers :)

Hoping it will be a lucky bus for lots of us - and I might have a birthday baby :)

Liliana (31) ttc#1 ucl 28 af due 26th March

(I have left out the CD as it is never up to date and all we really want to know is when are people testing!)

Pixiepops · 09/06/2011 16:43

Not sure about the tests, but I remember the sleeping sperm thing Byrnsie! I can't quite remember how long it said that they slept for, but I'm sure it was days rather than hours.

18 months does seem like a long time Pomme, I thought that the general rule was 12 months if you're under 35 and 6 months if you're over. Would it be worth getting a second opinion?

Readynow · 09/06/2011 16:53

Byrnsie £11.90 from Amazon are the cheapest I've found them. I think they are over £20 in most other places. I definitely think they are worth getting as I have just never been certain of the LH surge from using the cheaper ones.

minipie · 09/06/2011 17:11

Byrnsie - I just got some v cheap ones from Amazon - £5.50 for 30 or something like that.

The ClearBlue ones are probably easier to use and interpret, but lots more expensive! I'm reckoning on using the cheap ones daily till I work out which end is up.

Readynow did you have problems with the cheap ones then? maybe i'll have to get the clearblue efforts...

Readynow · 09/06/2011 17:24

With the internet cheapies I could see a line but it was always lighter than the control line so I was just never sure if I was sensing the surge or not! A friend recommended CB digital as the smiley face gave a definite result. Because I have very regular cycles a pack of 7 has lasted over 2 cycles & I have always got a result from testing in the morning. The cheaper ones say you should test mid afternoon for best results but I can't really test at work.

pommedechocolat · 09/06/2011 17:27

Hi all - we've only (!) been trying for four months at the moment - went really to talk about endometriosis and my cramps but wanted to talk to her about conceiving too (dd conceived very easily so this waiting game has already got me a little spooked).
I will certainly NOT be waiting 18 months before going back if no bfp situation continues. I bet she wouldn't wait 18 months either!!

minipie · 09/06/2011 17:36

mmm - ok I see what you mean.

see, my cycles are totally all over the place as I've only recently come off the Pill. So I was thinking I'd use the cheapies to at least get an idea... maybe I should invest in the Clearblue for confirmation once I think I've got a result.

pomme can't believe she said 18 months! I thought it was 6 months if you're over 35, 1 yr if you're under, too.

Liliana1 · 09/06/2011 18:19

minipie I used internet cheapies from after AF as wanted to be sure. I didn't get any line until ov when I got 2 lines, not quite as dark as the test, however as it was signifiacantly different from the rest of the month I figured that was the surge!

Byrnsie I saw the human body prog, was amazing and loved the sleeping sperm!!

chocolate my docs also said 18 months at least :( I stopped taking the pill march last year and still no pg (bar a chem a couple of months ago)

Hi to all the new people, make yourself comfy xx

Hello! Can I join you please? I'm TTC #2, AF due 20 June I think.... not really back on track from DS1 yet (8months)

Good luck ladies, hope some of us are in the process of becoming up-duffed!

Piglet28 · 09/06/2011 21:04

Hi all, can I join you?!

A little about me, we have DS from our 2nd ICSI, we've had one more failed ICSI attempt for no2 and decided to get DP's vasectomy reversed which was done in May! So TTC is all very new to me, i've bought my preconception vits for both of us, using preseed, temp charting and using OV sticks.... (and now that DP has recovered from his Op) lots of SWI this month!

Hope this is right!

Piglet28 (29) ttc#2 cycle 1 UCL 26 AF due 16th June

Think i'm 7/8dpo and feeling sick, and crampy... although i'm sure my body is playing tricks on me!

Hope to see lots of BFP's on here xx

Acceber · 09/06/2011 22:04

Wow - this thread it building up - looking forward to seeing everyone's updates and we go through the month.

I keep thinking I can feel things happening 'down there', but I'm sure I'm being positively paranoid.

The stupid thing is that this will be #2 and I can't remember what it felt like in the early days. Feel silly googling 'early pregnancy signs' - like I should know really!

Anyway, just realised I will be testing on my anniversary so that would be a good present for my husband. He keeps going on how is like Henry VIII and he needs a son and heir and how we need to just keep trying for a boy. Men! It's so simple for them, isn't it?!

Jebel · 09/06/2011 22:14

I have just got drunk with another TTC friend and we have both decided that we are most definitely pregnant because if we had sat there on the wagon we most definitely wouldn't be.

Liliana1 · 09/06/2011 22:33

melliebobs any news? Hope you enjoyed the beer and pizza and the witch is staying away :)

Hi Piglet and Katie, jump on.

I'm getting ready for DH to get home tomorrow, should be ov'ing on saturday so he is going to be jumped on the minute he gets through the door (poor bloke won't know what's hit him!) Weekend ahead of decorating and SWI Grin

OP posts:
ThisCharmingMum · 10/06/2011 15:58

It's quiet on here today.

Is everyone too busy SWIing? Wink

Still only on CD23 so got 5 days to wait for AF, after which I can start some SWI of my own.

Managing to keep myself occupied with packing for the move and took the kids out this afternoon. The trouble is that every second my mind is not fully occupied, I start ttc obsessing!

Welcome to all newcomers.

Melliebobs Did AF arrive? fx

I can't add myself as on the iPad and it's too tricky, so can someone cut and paste me please?

Karbea - your wish is my command :)

cd7 here and swi every other day starts tonight.

Feeling a little disheartened about it all today for some reason. Wondering whether buses are really a good idea for me - all the BFPs make me jealous and I already have that with two friends how have recently announced the pg no 2 I'm chasing.

Oh well sure I'll feel better post a glass of red and a good seeing to!

Readynow · 10/06/2011 16:54

Think I Ov'd today so start of the 2ww for me! Will try not to obsessively symptom spot!
FX to everyone for this month

stuffthenonsense · 10/06/2011 19:35

im afraid i dont know how to update the stats, and i feel guilty for both asking someone to do it, and for what i want to change, please , please dont hate me but i am ttc no 5.
i have 3 teens from a first marriage and little DD with my patient and understanding DH. i (stupidly) thought the broodiness would end after the last baby,(particularly after a 43 week pukey throughout pregnancy that ended in a really nasty delivery and 9 days in SCBU) but its actually WORSE! i desperately feel the need to provide her with a little sibling (i would love a 5th girl as i know girls and boys are an unknown, but DH would like to level the hormone imbalance in our home).
i was told today by 'a man who knows' (because it worked for him) that to conceive a boy we should put an elastic band round DHs ankle during SWI Grin

HorseyGirl1 · 11/06/2011 10:37

good luck stuffthenonsense, it's no one's business but your own how many you have. If you're all happy and can take good care of each other, why on earth shouldn't you? Hope you get your longed for little one too. xx

AmandaCooper · 11/06/2011 10:53

Stuffthenonsense don't talk nonsense, nobody begrudges anyone more children and it's not like there's only a finite number to go round! You are more than welcome and good luck to you.

It's high time you learnt to cut and paste though Grin

Jebel · 11/06/2011 12:30

Feeling rotten, have severe stomach bug. Think it unlikely that any little shrimp could have survived this and managed to implant. Anyway, another week to go before I can test so still holding out hope...

stuffthenonsense · 11/06/2011 14:17

Thanks for the support. Much appreciated. Will get one of the older ones to help with cut and paste. Jebel, when I conceived my last baby I had horrendous diarrhoea almost straightaway-it lasted until the morning sickness kicked in, so you kever know. Keep positive thoughts.

Karbea · 11/06/2011 18:55

pommedechocolat don't be disheartened, I'm pretty safe to talk too, doubt I'll be getting a bfp anytime soon. I got myself some eve primrose and royal jelly today... Might help...

ThisCharmingMum · 11/06/2011 22:27

pommedechoc - don't be on a downer. It's natural to feel a bit green eyed when other people are getting what you want most in the world. Am sure you don't wish your friends were not pregnant - you just want to be pregnant too!

stuffthenonsense - all the more people to pay into my future pension Wink

Don't apologise - I am one of 5. Fab childhood and we are all still very close.

pommedechocolat · 12/06/2011 09:18

Oh no of course I don't wish they weren't pregnant. I just want it to!
Dh just keeps saying 'what will be will be'. Guess he's right!
I was one of 2 and wish there had been more of us sometimes. I would like 3 in total. Still to totally convince dh on that third one!
stuffandnonsense - I don't reckon the broodiness is affected by number of childredn, if you have it you have it and it then becomes about your other children having siblings. Tis so hard!
