That's it really. I'm CD 6, having red days, planning my BD-ing & wandering if anyone else is in the same boat as me...?

Thanks 3cats.

I have a fan in the bedroom, makes a big difference as long as you get use to the noise.

JAG123 · 27/07/2006 19:53

Hi Ladies

I know what you mean about this heat. We have a fan in the bedroom too would be lost without it, but i dread the electric bill as its on all of the time.

Well got on ok prob won't be much help to you Natty as you are ahead of me in the investigations. She did my weight & height. Then just asked some questions ie had i been pg before, how often do we bd, how much do we smoke/drink. (DH thought he would be funny & say that he had never been pg, but she thought he meant that DD wasn't his so quickly had to put her right. She has just given me cd 2-4 & cd 20 blood tests & one to check Rubella. DH has got to do semen test. Also got to fill in chart with my AFs & mark as spotting, normal or heavy with clots. She has got to get in touch with my Breast Care consultant to check on receptor status of my cancer i know it was non oestrogen (sp?) receptive but wasn't sure about the progesterone.
She didn't mention anything about internal. She gave us a booklet with the series of investigations that take place so i suppose it will just be one step at a time.

Good Luck for Mon Natty & let us know how you get on.

Good Luck for Wed 3cats let us know too.

Take Care
J

Natty1806 · 27/07/2006 20:41

Glad it went okay Jag, at least you are getting somewhere now, do you have another appointment or are they going to contact you.

Will let you know how i get on, good luck for 1st Aug cats

JAG123 · 27/07/2006 20:52

I've got to make an appointment for the beginning of Sept when all of the results should be back. Got to phone tomorrow to sort out DH app to take in sperm sample.

It is good that things are moving but i keep hoping that i will get a miracle & find myself pg before the tests start. (It happened to a friend of mine last year) You never know.

J

Natty1806 · 28/07/2006 08:25

Quite right it could happen before then anyway. Septembers not that far away summer seems to fly by.

JAG123 · 28/07/2006 18:34

Phoned to book app to take in DH sperm sample. Couldn't get an appointment till 15th September! so it looks like it will be closer to end of Sept or Oct before we get results.

Are you feeling ok about Monday Natty?

Natty1806 · 28/07/2006 19:09

It takes ages doesn't it. I was refered back in April and took this long to get an appointment, hopefully follow ups won't be as long. I think the outpatients clinic is only run on a Monday afternoon and covers a wide area.

Not really thinking about my appointment, as i don't really know what to expect i can't get worried, am going to drink lots of water so they might be able to do an external scan if needed, if not i will just have to have a wee and grin and bare it.

3catstoo · 29/07/2006 09:38

Hi Jag, Glad your appt went OK. Sorry to hear you have to wait so long for results and appts though. Fingers crossed that you won't need it anyway !

Natty, What is you appt for on Monday? Will you be getting any results or just a followup?

Good luck anyway.

My appt on Tuesday is to discuss the findings of the laparoscopy and to discuss treatment if any needed.

DH is sounding a bit more positive about it. I'm really hoping that the fact that I may have to have 3 ops in order to have another baby convinces him that I am totally committed.
Having spoken to the Gyny's secretary, she said that I probably wouldn't be able to have a vaginal birth and may need to have a repair job done before conceiving. They can put a mesh in to hold everything in place.

Dh said "you haven't talked about number 4 very much lately". I told him that after Tuesday he wouldn't hear the end of it, all being well.

Well I'm having my neighbours around for dinner tonight and I'm very stressed. They are in their 50s and have never had children. Their house is so neat and tidy and clean. I need to blitz the house and cook before 5pm.
I had better get started.

Natty1806 · 29/07/2006 10:35

Hi 3cats, really hope your appointment goes well, does show how much you want another one when you are willing to go through all this.

My appointment is the first fertility clinic one so i should imagine it is just a chart and maybe a scan to see why i do not ovulate and then probably on to clomid or maybe a lap depending on what is found on a scan if i have one.

Sound like you are going to be stressing all day, but i hope you enjoy the evening. x

JAG123 · 30/07/2006 19:13

Natty1806 · 31/07/2006 18:45

Hi Jag

we just had a chat, gave some information on what will happen next. Going to give me clomid to start with just need to wait for next AF in about 6 ish weeks.

Good luck for tomorrow cats

JAG123 · 31/07/2006 19:06

Hopefully that will do the trick for you. Just going to be frustrating to wait i would imagine.

How do you feel about it?

Natty1806 · 31/07/2006 19:16

Not feeling too bad, he went through everything and what next stages would be, even mentioned IVF even though that would be a long way off. However he still seemed positive that i would end up pregnant.

JAG123 · 31/07/2006 19:20

I'm pleased that he was positive for you. Helps you to stay positive too. I'm sure it will happen for you.

Take Care

Natty1806 · 31/07/2006 20:08

Thanks, let us know how you get on with your blood tests etc.

3catstoo · 31/07/2006 22:49

Hi Natty,
Glad it was a positive experience.

Have you got another appt or do have to take Clomid and wait and see?

What does Clomid do?(probably a daft question!)

Fingers crossed.

Natty1806 · 01/08/2006 06:57

Hi 3 cats

Think they are writting to gp who will ring me up to collect my prescription. Then once i have another period on day 2-6 i take clomid this helps me produce a hormone which in turn should help me start ovulating, i then go in on day 9-13 for a scan to see if i am going to ovulate, i think i then have a blood test to see if i did ovulate.

Good luck for later, let us know how you get on. x

LEAWHEEL · 01/08/2006 10:10

hi natty1806, please can you tell me if you had a lot of tests done , i have my second follow up appointment today and was wondering what will be next, i am a real worrier , i have had tests done by doc and i don't think i either am ovulating very low results!! did they mention lap to you, sorry to be a pain thanks

Natty1806 · 01/08/2006 11:09

Hi Leawheel

So far i have had blood test at Gp - low progestrone levels, DP has had sperm test - ok, referral to fertility clinic. They are going to try me on clomid for 6 months however after i start it i will be scanned for polystic ovaries as well as to check i have started to ovulate. If not PO but no luck on clomid i will have a HSG, if i do have PO i will be having a Laparoscopic ovarian diathermy. Waiting list on average is 6 months.

Also if clomid does not work and HSG is clear then i think they will put me on another drug called M something. If this does not work then it will be done the IVF route.

3catstoo · 02/08/2006 16:16

Hi there,

Had my appt yesterday. It was a bit frustrating as the Gyny was running late and therefore was in a rush. So I got a 10 min appt instead of 30 mins and probably still got charged £150 for the privellage.
Anyway, he said that if I wanted another baby then I should get pg asap and then sort my problems out afterwards, once I feel my family is complete.
He said he would be tempted to take the risk of a natural birth instead of C section. I know he is a risk taker as he was the only consultant to take on a friend of a friend who had 6 c sections. Most consultants will agree to 3, 4 at a push.
He said the prolapse might get marginally worse with another pregnancy but it has taken 3 to get it to it's current state.

So it was quite positive in that way.

Then I just had Dh to talk to.
After finding out what the Gyny had said he didn't want to discuss it any further .
After sounding slightly positive before my appt he soon changed his tune once he found out that I could go ahead and have another.
Now I'm thinking that he was hoping that I was told I couldn't have anymore.

I'm off to yet another Virgin Vie party tonight (I'm only going to support a friend but I've had enough of these things !)so I can't really talk to him about it tonight.

One thing the Gyny did ask was how quickly I normally get pg. When I said straight away on 4 occaisions (1 mc, 3 children), he said that if I wasn't pg within 4 months then to go back and see him.
I didn't ask but I was intriged as to why only 4 months. Even for someone who has conceived easily that seems like a short time to be given.
That got my mind working over time and thinking that there was something he hadn't told me that might stop or delay things. Who knows.
I think I'm more likely to be going back in 4 months to get everything seen to if DH carries on this way.

Hope you are all well. Sorry to go on and on.

xxxx

Natty1806 · 02/08/2006 16:26

Hi 3 cats

Just need to sort out DH then, everything sounds positive, hopefully you will be preg within 4 months.

x

3catstoo · 02/08/2006 16:42

If I had my way yes. Somehow I'm not sure even if DH gives in that it will happen as easily as it has in the past. With my cycle as it is and with everything that's been going on I think I would be very very lucky to be pg within 4 months. Fingers crossed for that miracle to happen though.

I have already tried to narrow down dates to see what we are upto. I've guessed that we will be away in Germany all sharing a hotel room when the timing would be good.
If DH does cave in I will be buying OV tests like there's no tomorrow!!

It won't help that my sister in laws baby is due just before we arrive in Germany, where she lives. Part of me wants the baby to be there before we arrive as I will be an Auntie again and it will be great to see my new neice. However it may not be what I or DH need, to be around a tiny baby (very selfish of me, I know).

Natty1806 · 02/08/2006 16:56

Not selfish at all. x Fingers crossed DH changes his mind, men are strange sometimes. LOL
